THE FEAST OF…fine with Percy.
Everybody snickered while the Romans laughed.
"Imagine that they'd actually put tuna in there." Nico smirked. Percy's eyes widened.
"Poor fish. May the rest in peace." He sighed. Triton and Amphitrite looked at each other and burst out laughing. It took Triton a good few minutes to calm down while everybody stared at him. Percy looked at his brother with raised eyebrows.
"Are you all right?" he asked slowly.
"Oh, I'm all good." Triton grinned and then looked at his father who bright red and had a sheepish smile on his face. Percy looked even more confused as he looked at Triton and Amphitrite.
"We'll tell you later." Triton winked at him and Percy chuckled.
"I have a feeling that even I'd like to know…You know, just for blackmail purposes." Hades said amusedly, idly studying his fingertips.
"Oh no." Poseidon shook his head, making Triton snicker again.
Campers, Amazons and…nobody complained.
"It would be a lot of work to deal with all the souls that way. Anyways, there was a lot of chaos and it was hard to keep track of who was walking out of the doors of death. And, it was saving heroes as well so Thanatos and I didn't really bother about it anyways." Hades explained
"Well, lucky for me or I would have been dragged back too." Jason said with a chuckle. Thalia, Piper, Zeus and Hera grimaced at the thought that Jason had actually died not once but twice.
Colorful Amazon and Roman…he lost track of his dinner.
Thalia gasped dramatically.
"I know right." Percy said, wiping fake tears. "My dinner." He said. Nico face palmed and buried his face in his hands.
There was a lot of flirting…already had a girlfriend.
"NO WAY!" The Greeks screamed.
"HOW?!" The Stolls and Leo complained and looked at Percy who smirked.
"How does everybody fall for you, man? Even the ones you've met only once? ONCE, I tell you." Pollux groaned.
"I guess somethings just come with the flow." Percy winked, making all those who understood the pun snort with laughter.
"From your mom's side though, right?" Nico asked, grinning at Poseidon and winking at Percy, seeing as his uncle was grinning like a Cheshire cat. Poseidon pouted at his nephew and at his son who nodded.
"Definitely." Percy said.
"Ouch." Poseidon said "My own son has forsaken me." He groaned dramatically, making Percy snicker and Amphitrite snort in amusement.
"But seriously though, how?" Beckendorf chuckled at Percy.
"Because he's Percy." Annabeth blurted out. Percy looked at her with a lopsided grin and the daughter of Athena blushed. The others 'Ooh'ed'. Poseidon decided to have mercy and continue reading.
Fortunately Kinzie…kidding or not.
"Both actually." Ares told Percy seriously but with a glint of amusement in his eyes. He knew Kinzie well especially her sense of humor.
"Thanks. That clears it." Percy grumbled.
He politely thanked…"That's an understatement."
"Fair enough." Reyna smirked. Gods, she missed her sister. Looks like a visit was due. She looked at Artemis, her eyes seeking for permission which was granted by a small smile from the goddess of the hunt. Artemis knew the importance of family and she had never had and never wanted any of her followers be that Thalia or Reyna or anybody else to not visit their brothers or sisters or any other family member.
"She joined the…Percy Jackson."
Everybody chuckled or laughed.
"Well, the plus points of releasing pirates, I guess?" Percy said to Annabeth who nodded with a smile.
"And the benefits of being turned into a guinea pig too." She smirked at her boyfriend who pouted at her.
"I have to say that I agree. Having Percy turned into a guinea pig really was beneficial." Reyna said and her and Annabeth high fived.
"And the pirates." Percy reminded them.
"I love how you're not denying it." Nico snickered.
"They make fair points." Percy smirked.
More cheering…him out with applause
All the younger gods and a couple of the Olympians applauded and hooted as well.
"Wait. You actually protested that you couldn't be praetor?" Jason asked in surprise "Why in Tartarus and Olympus would you do that?" he said to his cousin.
"I just felt like I didn't know enough about Rome, you know? And I knew that I was Greek so I thought that by being a leader to the Romans, I might wrong them." Percy shrugged.
"You're built different, mate." Jason chuckled.
"I'll take that as a compliment." Percy told him.
"It was."
Poseidon smiled at his son, understanding what Percy meant.
"You deserved the praetorship, son. You recovered a major part of their identity. Greek or not, you deserved to be a leader." He said. Percy gave him a small smile.
Reyna took away his…managed not to scream
Poseidon flinched in pain, trying to hold on to his scream of pain as well as he grabbed his arm. A few of the CHB campers frowned or scowled as well, still not fond of this particular Roman tradition.
"I still don't get if I'm being honest. I mean why make all those joining the service go through this much pain. I mean firstly they are joining to do some service to Rome and on top of that you're branding them and that too by burning something into their skin. There are many other ways to welcome a person into the ranks." Castor said, tilting his head to the side.
"I suppose its tradition. Its been carried forward since generations. There isn't much we can do the change it and even if we tried, it wouldn't go down well with most." Dakota sighed.
Octavian embraced…"I hope it hurt."
Everybody scowled at that but none as deeply as Apollo who was still disgusted by his legacy.
Then Reyna gave…"You earned these, Percy."
"She's right." The Romans smiled at Percy who looked at them gratefully.
Queen Hylla pounded…his talent right away!"
The Romans chortled.
"Man, I love that guy." Frank chuckled.
Don the faun…earthquake after all.
Poseidon scowled. The Romans really had to stop coming to conclusions so fast. He was glad that the current Romans were better than the ones before them. Except that Octavian boy though.
Everybody smiled at Frank and Hazel who were grinning from ear to ear. Ares and Hades exchanged a look and an understanding passed between them. Both of their kids were misunderstood for certain reasons, the biggest of them being the misunderstanding that the kids of Ares were bloodthirsty while the Hades kids caused death where they went. This time around, both the gods were glad that their kids got the appreciation that they deserved.
Percy sat for a…and looked away
Percy wolf whistled with Nico, Thalia and Annabeth joining in.
"What a charmer, huh, Tyson?" Annabeth chuckled and Tyson blushed bright red.
"All sons of Poseidon, man. Its almost like charming people runs in your veins or something." Rachel grumbled. Poseidon raised an eyebrow at Rachel.
"Why, thank you." He said. Rachel groaned as she realized what she said, making the sea god and a few others laugh lightly.
After dinner, the entire…big adoring eyes.
"Ah, she's got him now." Thalia laughed.
"Hey, I couldn't say no to those puppy eyes, all right?" Percy defended.
"Yeah. She is pretty adorable." Hazel admitted and the Romans nodded in agreement.
"Isn't that how Estelle manipulates you into doing something she wants?" Nico teased. Percy snorted.
"She does the same thing to you too and even you fall for it." He said. Nico grinned.
"Facts." He said.
"Your sister is actually pretty sweet." Hades told Percy who nodded with a smile.
"And I'm pretty sure that you're her first crush." Percy laughed and Hades chuckled, remembering when Estelle had come to Olympus.
"Well, she's got good taste." Persephone shrugged. Nico choked on his own saliva and Hades had to pat him on the back as he smirked at Persephone.
Percy snickered at Nico who glared at him.
"Both of us are in the same boat, buddy. I wouldn't laugh if I was you." Nico told him. Percy took one look and Poseidon and Amphitrite and looked right back at Nico and swallowed.
"Touché." He said.
"Ah, sure…the blue crown."
"Similar to the one you have now." Nico said.
"Huh." Percy said "Yeah." He said.
She offered Hazel…thing to be, Julia."
Percy smiled at Hazel.
"Thanks, sis." He said. Hazel smiled and winked at him.
"Just don't go through what I did." Percy sighed and added. "I won't let you." He said next with more determination. Poseidon winced.
"Although," Frank said…Roman musical tradition.
"Its relatively more modern." Dakota grinned.
The goddess Iris…guy's house, too.
Jason gave Percy a small, grateful smile. Percy gave him a nod with the hint of a smile.
Things would be…goddess in the river.
There were a couple of snorts while Poseidon nodded and Triton grinned at Percy.
"Now, that, you deserved." Amphitrite told Hera who scowled.
The moment she…even in a dream!"
Triton snapped his fingers as Hera was drenched again, causing Zeus, Jason and Thalia to get slightly sprinkled with water as well. Jason sighed and ran a hand down his face and glared at Triton.
"Could you please stop being an asshole?" he snapped. Everybody looked at him in surprise but then Percy's gaze hardened.
"You will talk to my brother properly, Jason. He means just as much to me as you do and I will not have you address him as such." Percy told him as air smelled strongly of sea breeze. Jason's eyes widened at Percy's sudden anger, still not used to his temper. Triton looked at Percy in surprise and so did a few others. Jason sighed and nodded.
"Sorry, Triton." He said. Triton nodded.
"Its quite all right." He said.
"Thanks, Perce." He added quietly to his brother.
"Don't mention it." Percy sighed and looked at Jason as both of them exchanged small, apologetic smiles at their anger. The elder six gods except Poseidon looked at Poseidon and shook their heads at the similarity.
"Eight months…froth of whitewater
"You can do that in a dream?" Amphitrite asked her step-son incredulously. Percy shrugged, not providing any explanation.
"Now, now…they let you out?"
A few people snorted and laughed but none as hard as Annabeth.
"Mistake of the century." She muttered under her breath.
"Watch it, daughter of Athena." Zeus told her, his eyes turning slightly gray. Percy flinched but Annabeth sighed and nodded.
"Apologies, lord Zeus." She said.
"Don't sound so…old woman
"Bullshit." Poseidon said.
At any rate…"A loose cannon."
"Watch it, Hera." Poseidon growled. Hera glared at him.
"I am not a pawn, let me make that very clear. The next time that you try to pull that shit with me, I will make sure that you end up in the water, teleportation or not." Percy told her, his eyes a dark shade of green. Hera's eyes widened
"He's a loose cannon? You're the all-mighty loose cannon." Thalia muttered under her breath and nobody but Jason heard it and he groaned.
"Exactly. I'm glad…are in a bad mood
The sea gang growled as Hera once again, ended up drenched.
"Stop that, guys." Zeus said. Jason nodded.
"Percy, tell your brother or whoever did that to calm down, please." Jason told Percy in Spanish which was a language that both of them had learn to communicate in. But unknowing to them, the rest of the sea gang had too.
"They are my family, Jason. Not somebody that I command. If you want to talk to them then do it yourself and anyways, I do not believe that they are wrong. If you have a problem with it then talk to them yourself." Percy replied back in the same language.
"Are you serious?" Jason shook his head. Percy just looked at him and Jason sighed.
"Triton, please." Jason said.
"Nobody insults my brother like that, Jason. That's something that I'm very clear with. If you want it to stop happening then talk to your step-mother." Triton told him. Jason sighed, caught between what to do.
"I get that its hard, Jason but you'll manage." Percy said in Spanish with a small smile, still annoyed but not wanting to hurt Jason. Jason nodded.
But you know…wanted to be glue."
"Sounds fun." Nico said sarcastically.
Juno laced her…me, but alas!
Zeus sighed but a small smile found its way on his face.
My proud and obstinate…with the gods
Silence permeated the room. Before any of the younger gods could channel their rage, Apollo and Hermes shot up from their places in fury.
"They're worthy?" Hermes asked in a voice that shook with his barely controlled fury.
"They're more worthy than you can ever imagine. In fact, we would have lost the first war had it not been for them. They made sure that another war like that wouldn't break out where the demigods were on one side and we were on one. How can you say that they aren't worthy?" Apollo said, his voice rising with every word.
"And not to mention that Typhon would have destroyed Olympus had Percy not risked his life by sitting on my throne to advise me. How dare you say that our and your kids weren't worthy? How could you be so oblivious, brother?" Poseidon's voice rung out, the sea god's fury clear on his face. Zeus swallowed.
The younger gods looked at their parents, most of whose faces were contorted into rage and they looked at each other, thinking it best to not intervene.
"I have to admit that I was at fault." Zeus said finally.
"Honestly, the fact that the war progressed that much is on you." Hermes said finally as he sat back down.
Poseidon glared at his younger brother and Hera for a few moments longer, making Zeus swallow thickly and avert his gaze only to look at the hurt faces of Jason and Thalia and look away again.
It will be the greatest…down at the old lady
Annabeth gave a smile to Percy which he returned. Athena eyed the younger god curiously who never ceased to surprise her.
When the wave…of the whirlpool.
"Chapter's done." Poseidon gritted out, his anger not completely vanished.
"I'll read." Hermes said, his voice also very noticeably giving away his internal fury.
