It's been two years since we left Forks. After we left we all split up not to say we have no communication. Over the years we sometimes go on our own. Right now it's just Esme and I. It's very peaceful.

I've been the lead doctor for two years in this small town of Maine. It's not very hard to achieve when you have hundreds of years of experience. One of the doctors retired last month, the replacement starts today. All I know is they went through medical school in two years. I'm not very aware of anything else besides that she's twenty. I'll find out later today.

Today is the day. Two years with almost no sleep, no social life, and the minimal amount of food for me to live and now I'm a doctor. I guess putting all your negative emotions into something really helps as well.

As a teenager, I use to faint at the sight of blood. In school there were lots of trips to the nurse's office and the doctor. I wasn't really a fan of the needles either but here I am.

My appearance has changed a bit since then too. I grew my hair out some, it's just above my waist. As it started to grow it got wavy all of a sudden. I'm still very petite. My skin tone is still very pale, I think I've actually gotten a little paler.!

I quickly brush my hair and throw it into a messy bun. Then I get dressed and I'm out of the door.

I walked into this small hospital. A little nervous. I know I'll probably be underestimated because of my age. I mean most medical degrees are long, and I did it in a few years.

I approach the lady at the front desk.

"Hello, I'm the new doctor" I said a little nervous

"Floor three is where you should be" she said a bit sternly but handed me my ID badge

So I went to the floor and walked up to the desk person on that floor

"Oh you are the new doctor. Room 37. They are eggar to be meet you" I was a bit nervous but thanked him.

I walked into room 37 and there was only one person in that room. One familiar face. One person I didn't think I'd see again. Carlisle.

We locked eyes for a solid minute at least. He was probably just as surprised as I was to see him. Those gold eyes, the pale complexion. Finally, I spoke up.

"It's been a while" I said awkwardly

"Yes it has" he responded

It was really her. She didn't look particularly healthy. Her eyes were worn as if she hadn't slept in days. She lost some weight, which she was already underweight prior. Her skin was paler. I guess getting through a ten year degree in two probably took a toll on her.

I had to check her ID badge a few times. It definitely said Dr. Isabella Swan on it though. I don't really know what to say. She's probably mad we left her.

"Did you set a world record getting through medical school in such a short amount of time" I said hoping it lightened the mood.

"I doubt it"

"Are you okay Bella, you don't look that well" I finally said

"I'm not great but not bad either. I haven't really slept more than an hour or two in who knows how long. I really only ate enough to live. I was too focused to do anything else."

"You look pale"

"Like you are one to talk" She gave me a quick smile.

"Are you the only other doctor here "

"There is one more but he rarely shows up. The nurses do most of the work here anyways unless when an ambulance comes in which is rare"

"Oh okay. So what do we do all day"

"Wait. You'd probably have more fun if you got a job in the city" I laughed when the words came out of my mouth

I think this encounter was awkward for the both of us. I am not mad at him for leaving, I'm mad at Edward and no one else. I haven't even thought about it in a long time.

"I'm sorry" I said

"For what" he looked confused

"This is just really awkward"

"It is"

"How about you come home with me? It's just me and Esme right now. The rest have left"

"That be nice" I smiled
