It is impossible as it seems, but the evidence is there for all to see. The green smoke indicates magic from the future queen, since only she produces magic of that kind. There was a huge buzz among those there that Mal is the guilty party. The guards, the chief and the coroners did not speak out loud, for fear of Ben, but of course the king already knew that they were suspicious of his bride.
"Ben, you know it wasn't Mal, right?"
Evie said and really hoped that her brother-in-law would also see that her best friend was incapable of doing something like that.
"I know Evie, I would never think it was Mal, but who was it? Who has magic like that?"
"Your majesty."
The head of the royal guard introduced himself.
"Demetrius."
"The girl carries a name inside her jacket, we think it's her name."
"What does it say?"
"Tulip."
"Can Evie look that name up in the records?"
"Sure."
"I'm going after Mal, it won't be great if she hears these things, through someone else."
He warned walking over to his limo.
(...)
Far away Mal was walking through the corridors of the castle looking for his mother-in-law.
"Belle, I'm so glad I found you."
Mal almost shouted when he saw her.
"Is something wrong dear?"
Belle had such a natural sweetness that it seemed she had never been angry in her life and she truly loved Mal as if she were her own daughter.
"It's nothing serious, but I found this book in your library and I was wondering where you got it or if you have a copy of it."
"Let me see." She took the book in her hand. "This isn't my, I know my books, it must be Adam's or Ben's, did you find it in my library?"
"Yeah, it kind of fell off one of the shelves."
"Ben before he brought you here read a lot about villains, there must be another one in the school library."
"Okay, I'll look. Belle, another thing the first king of Auradon was Adam right?"
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Do you happen to know of any King Harrison?"
"Why so many questions?"
"For research."
She lied quickly.
"You haven't convinced me, but if you don't want to tell me, I know you must have your reasons. Look, I donated some books to the school, I think there might be one on the history of kings, that name isn't strange, look there you should find it."
"Thanks Belle."
"Whenever you need me dear."
Honestly Mal didn't understand why she wanted to know so much about Agatha's history, but she needed to know more. As she walked out of the castle towards Auradon Prep. She bumped into her dear fiancé
"Hi."
She opened a huge smile and threw herself at him
"Hi, where are you going?"
He asked nervous of explaining the whole situation.
"Auradon Prep, I'm going to get some books."
"Don't you have any in the library here?"
"Not what I want, but what about you? How are you doing? Any progress with that situation?"
"More or less." Ben couldn't tell the truth. "I miss you."
"Me too."
She kissed his lips.
"Let's go out tonight, what do you think?"
"I'd love to, but I'm going out now."
"Mal, just one more thing...do you know a woman called Tulip?"
"Yeah, I met her at the tea party, but we'll talk later, see you tonight, right?"
She gave him a brief kiss on the cheek and hurried off to school. Ben, on the other hand, was paralyzed when he heard that Mal probably knew the woman.
The king was speechless at what he had heard, how could it be possible? He knew that his fiancée was in no way guilty, but how could Mal be the only person to know who this woman was?
The purple haired girl had no idea that the lady who had made her mind so troubled about the wedding was dead, let alone that there were people thinking that she could be the culprit. Honestly in the midst of so many disturbing thoughts and so many people pressuring her with the wedding, trying to find out who Agatha was a great relief
As soon as she arrived at the library Mal grabbed all the books she could and took them to her room. She intended to spend a long time unraveling all the mysteries she could, among the copies she took was "All the kings of Auradon", "Witches" "Stories of Auradon", "Auradon before Adam" "The greatest witch spells" "Villains who are on the Isle of the Lost" among others.
It was almost 1:00 a.m. when Mal slept on one of the books. The end result of his work came out arduously, but after reading a few things his conclusions were:
Auradon before it was unified was divided between several kingdoms each with their own laws, despite this mess there was a council that tried to bring some organization. Fairy Godmother was part of the council, that is, the fairy was older than Mal imagined, in fact she does not call Fairy Godmother, her name was Helena, shocking.
This King Harrison really existed, he was a great man it seems, he fought in several wars, good king and all that usual bullshit, but he died in a battle. About Agatha there was only one information that caught his attention, she had written some spells that were in the book of his mother and the Evil Queen, that is, this woman had a lot of power, however the information about her ended there. Mal really had an absurd intelligence and could see that it was not a lack of information, someone had taken any data, news or story about Agatha. Someone probably disappeared everything related to her from the shelves of Auradon.
The funny thing was that Ben went to see his fiancée in the middle of the night, since they had an appointment and she hadn't come. When he entered the room he was startled to see so many books wrapped around her. when he approached to take the book that was on his face he read the cover "The greatest witch spells". Ben could create several theories in his head and think that it was just a normal book and that Mal was only reading out of curiosity, he could think that way. However, seeing the things that were happening and that there were already several causes to believe that Mal had done the spell that killed the girl, who they now knew was called Tulip, Mal confessing that he knew the woman and now the book...he had a lot to think about.
"Why would Mal kill that woman?"
