A witch hunt quickly turned into a mission to help two old friends come together again. Ashi Kaenatsu has been confirmed a witch, but she claims that Koji Kusanaji is one as well. Deciding to kill two birds with one stone, Ichigo and his friends agreed to help. In order to bring the two friends together again, they have to try and prevent Kori's heart from breaking after she admits to a guy that she likes him, and the guy is named Renji Abarai.

"Renji Abarai... I've seen him around. He looks like a bit of trouble." Uryu said. "He's the guy with long red hair and has tattoos over his body."

"I've seen him around, too. The guy got on my nerves a couple times." Ichigo said.

"He's not as bad as you guys think." Rukia said with all eyes on her now. "What?"

"Rukia, do you know him?" Orihime questioned.

"Well... Yeah, we've known each other for a long time." Rukia admitted as this was a surprising twist to them. "Renji and I have known each other for a long time, but he's not as bad as he looks or anything. He's a good guy. He's...just been given a raw deal."

"What do you mean?" Ichigo questioned.

"He hasn't had it easy. When he was a kid, he was living out on the streets." Rukia said as she remembered him. It all happened years ago when Rukia was a child. "I remember seeing him swiping from some people to just grab some food. I saw it happened and thought maybe I should do something." She remembered how she saw Renji grab food and ran off, but someone chased after him. Curious back then, Rukia chased after them. "I saw the food stand guy caught him, but beat him a little hard. So, I did what I had to do." She remembered how the guy caught Renji and beat him pretty hard, so she acted. She pushed him out of the way, grabbed Renji, and they both ran.

"You really did that and helped a little thief?" Uryu said as he was surprised Rukia would do that.

"He's not a thief. He just did what he had to do." Rukia said. "I felt bad for him, so I helped him out. After that, we became friends and I helped him out even more. He started doing odd jobs so he could live, make money, and attend school."

"You sure it's the same guy Kori is crushing on?" Ichigo said with Rukia confirming that it had to be. "Well, maybe this could work. You could talk to him, try to convince him to go out with Kori. Her heart won't break if you do that."

"But she'll still think Ashi was wrong and won't forgive her." Chad said with him bringing up a point.

"It wouldn't matter. Renji and I have been a little distant ourselves lately." Rukia admitted.

"Not another relationship problem." Ichigo said with annoyance. "So, how do we do this then? How do we bring Ashi and Kori back together and handle Renji breaking Kori's heart?"

"We also need to confirm that Kori is a witch and learn more about her power." Uryu said. This was starting to become a handful with one problem after another. "We need intel. The more we know about the relations, the more we can act accordingly. Let's try to handle this one problem at a time. Nel and Orihime, how about you two go and talk to Ashi. She might open up if she knows you two are witches. See if you can learn more about Kori and Renji."

"What about the rest of us?" Ichigo questioned.

"We need to know more about Kori's powers." Uryu said. "If Kori can really see a person's past like Ashi said, we might be able to use it. I do have a few ideas. That means you'll need to pucker your lips again, Ichigo."

"But how do we get Ichigo to kiss Kori when she likes Renji?" Rukia questioned.

"Why don't we do what he did with me and Rukia? Try and kiss her by accident." Orihime suggested.

"It won't be an accident if it's on purpose." Ichigo said as thought it was a dumb idea.

"Hold on. That's not actually a bad idea." Uryu said. "If we discreetly cause an accident, Ichigo can move in and kiss her."

"I'm not liking where this could be going." Ichigo said as this just sounded all kinds of wrong.

Ashi

Nel and Orihime did their part and went to talk to Ashi about their situation. The three of them grouped together at the roof to come clean. They even came clean and told her that they were witches just like her.

"Wow. Other than Kori, I didn't know there were others like us out there." Ashi said.

"Yeah. It's actually a lot of fun." Orihime said. "Ichigo and I switch bodies a bunch of times and we always have fun doing it."

"You let a guy roam around in your body? Careful, Orihime." Ashi said. "You actually do have a great body for someone as young as you. A guy could have a lot of fun with a body like that."

"Oh no. Ichigo isn't that kind of guy." Orihime said.

"Let's try and focus." Nel said as she made things serious. "Ashi, we wanted to talk to you about Kori like Ichigo. What is it about Renji that Kori likes so much? If her heart gets broken like you say, there must be a strong reason for that. Knowing all that we can could help you two be friends again."

"Let's see..." Ashi said as she thought it over. "Well, one thing you should know is that she always took what a guy thought about her a little serious. As for why she likes Renji so much... I guess it all started during our last year in middle school. Some guys were being jerks and harassing her. With how much she takes a guy's word, it might not have gone good for her. Renji was the one that stepped in to help her. He beat those guys and made sure she got home safely."

"He acted like her knight in shining armor." Nel said.

"She's had a crush on him ever since." Ashi said. "She's been trying to work the courage to tell him for a long time. If things don't go well for her, it will crush her instead of her crushing on him." That didn't sound good at all. They've got to do something to prevent that from happening.

"Ashi, you said Kori has powers too. Can you tell us how they work?" Orihime said.

Ichigo

Meanwhile, Ichigo and his group were getting ready. They need to know more about Kori and her power. If they know how her power works, not only will they mark another witch off their hunt, they can see a person's past and learn more about them. Something that will be real helpful.

"Ichigo, get ready. I can see her coming." Chad said as he stood at the top of some stairs while Ichigo got himself ready for his part at the bottom of the stairs.

"Bye, girls. I'll see you later." Kori said. Chad spotted her down the hall and was on her way towards them. Chad just leaned against the wall and it look like it was something casual. Kori turned to the stairs, but Chad held out his leg and caused her to trip and fall down the stairs.

"Hold on! I've got you!" Ichigo called as he got into position. 'This is going to work or it's going to hurt.' He thought as he braced himself. Kori fell right into his arms and Ichigo took the chance as he managed to kiss her. It worked and that means that he can copy her powers if she really has any. However, nothing really happened. Ichigo didn't really feel any different or anything.

"Sorry about that! Didn't see you!" Chad claimed as part of the act.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Kori said as she backed away and actually slapped Ichigo. "What's the big idea? Saving me just to sneak in a kiss? Creep." She said as she just walked away.

"That's okay. I probably deserved it." Ichigo claimed.

"What happened? Did it worked?" Chad questioned as he came down.

"I'm not sure. I don't feel any different. Maybe it's like the charm power and has a delayed reaction." Ichigo said. As for Kori, she just walked away and tried to forget what just happened."

"Hey. I saw what happened on the stairs. Are you okay?" Kori turned around and spotted Rukia with this being part of the plan as well. "You want to talk about it?" Rukia offered.

The Clubroom

"Well, Ashi told us how the power works." Nel said as all of them except Rukia regrouped at the clubroom to figure out how Kori's powers are used. Since nothing happened yet, Nel and Orihime were smart enough to ask Ashi for a little guidance.

"So how does it work?" Ichigo questioned.

"All you have to do is just close your eyes and think of the person you kissed." Orihime said. "When you do that, you can see a moment of their past."

"Just close my eyes and think of Kori?" Ichigo said. That sounded simple enough. Ichigo closed his eyes and tried to think of Kori to see if it worked. It ended up working just like that. He soon found himself somewhere else.

"Please, just leave me alone."

"What's with that hair color, babe?"

"It makes her look icy, but hot at the same time."

"I wonder how she would look without a couple clothes." Ichigo could see some guys had Kori surrounded, but she was back against a wall. It was looking bad for her and she was terrified on what they're going to do as one grabbed her by her clothes and looked like he was going to rip it off. That was until she was saved by a guy with red hair tied back. He punched one of the jerks right in the face and tried fighting the others.

"This is what happens to jerks that harass girls like that!" That had to have been Renji Ichigo saw fighting. Ichigo opened his eyes and was back in the clubroom.

"Well? What did you see? Did it worked?" Grimmjow said.

"Yeah... It worked. Kori Kusanaji is definitely a witch with the power to see a person's past." Ichigo confirmed. "I saw the moment you told me about, Orihime. I saw when she was being harassed with Renji coming in to save her."

"That proves that she's a witch, but what now?" Chad said. "How do we use this to help Ashi and Kori?"

"Let's see what Rukia finds out." Uryu suggested as it seems like it's going well. The more they know, the more they can act accordingly.

Rukia

"I mean...what is wrong with guys?" Kori questioned as she and Rukia were chatting in the bathroom about what happened. All part of the plan so Rukia could learn more. "They look cute and hot, but why is it some of the good-looking ones act like real jerks and pull stuff like that?"

"I don't know." Rukia said. "It's like they see us as something for their own entertainment or pleasure. Still, you should be lucky it was just a kiss. I've read in this book that there are a lot of worse things a guy can do."

"I don't think I want to hear this." Kori said. "Do you ever wonder why people act the way they do? Maybe something happened to them and that caused them to act like this." That sounded interesting to Rukia as it might connect to her powers. "The thing is...we girls seem to be the one to pay for it. We question how we look, are we good enough, and yet you try to improve yourself. I guess that's another reason I want to know about a person's past, so I know what they like so I can impress a guy."

"Hold on. You were just venting about what jerks they are, but you want them to like you?" Rukia said.

"I know that probably doesn't make much sense, but I can't help it." Kori said. "I want to find a nice guy to be with, get them to like me, and knowing the past helps."

"Did something happen to you that makes you think like that?" Rukia questioned.

"Well, I have had a few bad experience with guys." Kori claimed. "Either I have terrible luck or there's something wrong with me." Rukia was starting to feel bad for her. All she wants is a nice boyfriend, but it looks like that hasn't worked.

"Still, you know that there are some nice guys out there." Rukia said.

"Yeah. There is someone I've been crushing on, but I was always too nervous." Kori admitted. "He helped me out when I really needed it...and I plan to tell him. It's weird."

"What?" Rukia questioned.

"I didn't mean to vent to you, Rukia, but I feel like I can really talk to you and it feels nice." Kori said. "I had someone else like that, but we haven't been close lately." It looks like things have gone well on Rukia's side. She just feels bad she played her to get that info.

The Clubroom

"And that's the whole story." Rukia said as she came back to the clubroom and told everyone what she learned. "She told me that she plans to tell Renji how she feels in the next few days. "So, whatever it is we're going to do, we need to do it soon."

"Okay. We know how Kori's power works, we know she plans to tell Renji, but what we don't know is why it won't work." Uryu said. "It has to be on Renji's side, but what could it be?"

"Doesn't he just say he doesn't like?" Chad said.

"I don't think so." Ichigo said. "In the vision I had, Kori looked like her heart was really broken. She looked like she was about to cry. There might be a more personal reason."

"What are we going to do?" Orihime questioned. "If we somehow convince Renji to go out with Kori, it won't make her and Ashi friends. If he doesn't, Kori will get hurt."

"Maybe it's a future that can't be change. We shouldn't have gotten involved in the first place." Grimmjow said. "It's just making things more difficult."

"What do you mean we? You haven't really done anything to help. We're in too deep to back down now." Ichigo said as he tried to think of something. "Wait a minute. What if Renji actually lets Kori down gently. Tries not to hurt her feelings."

"You mean like letting her down easy." Nel said. "If Renji tries to spare her feelings, she won't get hurt. We could even use it to convince Kori and Ashi to be friends again. She'll see that Ashi was right about Renji not feeling the same as her and might be oblige to give Ashi another chance to stay as friends."

"It's not a bad idea, but how do we make sure that happens?" Uryu questioned.

"By going to the cause of it all." Ichigo said as he got up and was on his way out. "I think it's time I had a little chat with Renji himself."

Ichigo

After school, Ichigo went searching for Renji. Going straight to the source might help with all of this. Ichigo tracked Renji down to an arcade to talk to him directly.

'He should be here.' Ichigo thought. 'I've got to be careful with how I do this? I can't give too much away, but I need to convince Renji to let Kori down easy.' Ichigo went on inside and went looking for Renji. It didn't take long to find him with how Renji stood out in appearance with Red hair tied back, tattoos, and had a white headband.

"Yeah! Take that! Yeah!" Renji said as he was really invested in a game. "Oh yeah! I win again!"

"Not bad." Ichigo said as he walked over. "How would you like some real competition?"

"Hold on. Aren't you Ichigo Kurosaki?" Renji said. "You're saying you think you can beat me at this game?"

"That's right, and I'll show you." Ichigo said as he took a seat and tried to beat Renji at the game as a way to break the ice. Renji took on Ichigo's challenge and the two of them took each other on. It started out friendly until the two of them got real competitive with each other and went hard at each other. After a round of some intense gaming, the two of them hit a spot where they grabbed something to eat.

"Not bad. You got some skills, but mine are better." Renji said.

"Says the guy who almost broke the machine." Ichigo said.

"Anyway, you were looking for me about something. What did you want to talk to me about?" Renji said.

"It's... It's hard to say really, but there's something I need you to do." Ichigo said. "It's pretty important."

"Important? What is it?" Renji questioned.

"I can't really say without revealing a few secrets I shouldn't." Ichigo said as he hasn't really thought about what to say. "All I can tell you is that it's important."

"You're not making sense. Why should I do something if you're not going to tell me what is?" Renji questioned.

"I told you I can't without revealing a few secrets." Ichigo said. "You're the only one who can do this and it's really important."

"You're weird. I'm leaving." Renji said as he was just going to leave.

"No!" Ichigo said as he stopped him. "Come on. This is really important. I'll do anything. I swear if you think it's something bad or illegal, I assure you it's not."

"I didn't, but now I'm concerned." Renji said, but then he thought there was something he could get. "Hold on. You're in the Supernatural Club with Rukia Kuchiki, right?"

"Rukia? Yeah. She actually mentioned you recently, saying you and she were friends once." Ichigo said.

"We were, but things changed." Renji said as it seemed like it was tough for him to talk about. "Is this thing you want me to do important to her?"

"You mean Rukia? Yeah. She would say the same thing." Ichigo said.

"I'll make you a deal. I'll do whatever it is you want me to do if you get me a date with her." Renji said. That one sentence was all Ichigo needed to hear to put the pieces of his problem in place. It made everything clear.

'That's it?! No wonder Kori's going to get her heart broken. It's because he likes Rukia.' Ichigo thought as he could now see the whole picture, and it seems like he's going to have to go behind Kori's back and hook her crush up with his crush. Just what they need to add to their problems: a love triangle.
