By the next morning, Carlota had left the clearing and continued out into the wilderness, acting more carefully than before as she hid around trees and bushes in order to make sure that she didn't attract any unwanted attention. She was still in her ruined clothes, and with her ponytail becoming a little unkept with a few strands of hair moving in front of her face, and that was gonna make her survival a little more difficult if she didn't find something to properly cover herself with...
Carlota:"Gotta remain calm...find a way out of this jungle...and at least find something to wear."
Looking around, she could see that were only a few palm trees and vines to work with. Working with what she got, she started to work on some leafy clothing, starting with wrapping some leavers together in order to make a crop top, and also using both vines and leaves to make sort of a leafy skirt. Afterward, satisfied with how much it covered, Carlota admired her handiwork.
Carlota:"I'll admit that I'd probably make a good-looking jungle girl. I wish I had a mirror."
The next thing she thought of was thinking of a way to protect herself, as she looked around and then took a very straight and long tree branch, then managed to get herself a sharp looking and started to work on a makeshift weapon.
Carlota:"Shouldn't be too hard. They do this all the time on tv."
It took her three tries since the wrappings she used with the vines came undone and or snapped when she tied them too tightly. The fourth time was a charm, though.
Carlota:"Finally! About time it stayed on."
Afterward, she started to work on attack moves, swinging and stabbing the spear in the air with dramatic force. It was slow going at first, since it was still new to her, but she was getting the hang of it and was moving a little bit faster soon after. After a bit of practice, Carlota wiped her brow as she held her spear up with some confidence in her skills.
Carlota:"Alright. Looks like I might just be about have a chance to survive this place after all."
Deciding to continue forward, Carlota didn't hear the growling coming from somewhere within the woods. The moment the growling sounds like it was getting closer, Carlota stopped in her tracks before, so suddenly, jumping from the woods was a big jaguar, and it looked hungry as it moved slowly towards the Latino. She held her spear up and pointed it to the beast, but not before two more jaguars came from two other sides, surrounding the girl as any confidence she had in her chances of survival quickly ran low.
Carlota:"Welp…so much for surviving."
But that's when coming from the trees, three girls went in and pounced on the Jaguars. The first girl seemed Caucasian, with brown hair in a downward ponytail, wearing a leopard skin two-piece attire with leather wrappings on her arms and legs. In her hands was a spear of her own, but much better made with a sharper blade; her name was Jane. The next girl had Black skin, brown hair braided in dreadlocks that reached her back, and wore a natural plain, sand-colored leather two-piece attire. She had a war club in her hands made of hardwood; her name was Malika. The last girl has fair skin, neck-length wavy platinum blonde hair, and a brown loincloth and brown top. She wielded a machete sword that seemed old, yet still sharp; her name was Tricia. Each of them was attacking the jaguars in their own special ways. Carlota watched in shock as Jane used better-trained stabbing techniques with her spear, Malika allowing the beast to slowly get in close before clubbing it on the head and leaving it dazed, and Tricia was on the offensive, swinging her machete and getting closer. Soon enough, Jane stabs her spear through the neck of her jaguar, Malika sends her club down on the beast's skull, crushing and Tricia decapitates her own.
All the while, Carlota continued to stare, frozen in shock as the girls picked up their killed prey, hoisting them up on their shoulders as they then turned their attentions toward the city girl.
Malika:"Who are you? What are you doing here?"
Carlota:"Uh...M-My name is Carlota...I'm just trying to get home."
The girls eyed her from the bottom to the top, getting a good look at her thick legs.
Jane:"She is not from this jungle. I can tell."
Tricia:"How did you get here?"
Carlota:"I was on a plane when it crashed...I'm the only survivor."
Jane:"She speaks the truth."
Carlota:"Can you girls tell me where exactly are we? On the map."
The girls look at each other and nodded before deciding to give Carlota the truth.
Malika:"We are in a jungle located, north of Africa."
After hearing that, Carlota froze with panic, forcing Jane to snap her fingers in her face to make the girl snap out of it. Shaking her head, Carlota faced the girls with a look of worry.
Carlota:"I shouldn't be here! I really need to get back home! My family may be worried sick about me!"
The girls looked at each other again before facing Carlota.
Malika:"We can try and help. But we can't guarantee anything."
Tricia:"For now...why don't you come with us? Our campgrounds aren't too far away."
Thinking about it for a second, Carlota nodded yes before the girls gestured to follow them. And while they were walking, something was on Carlota's mind with these three girls. They must've been in this jungle for some time if they were able to do what they did.
Carlota:"Hey, uh...if you don't mind me asking...how long have you been here?"
Kate:"Um...for a few...years. Yeah."
That did surprise Carlota a little. Makes her wonder how they got here in the first place.
Malika:"We were on a cruise, sailing across the Atlantic when a freak storm hit and stranded us here. No one other than ourselves survived."
Carlota:"Oh. Well...I'm sorry to hear that."
Tricia:"It's okay. Happened a long time ago...anyways, we're here."
And that is when Carlota found herself amazed at the sight of their camp, which turned out to be a tree hut, made of some brown and green materials, which was built around the crown of a great tree, and had several smaller huts built at some of its bigger branches, connected by some rope bridges.
Carlota:"So...how are we gonna get up there?"
Kate:"By using that."
She then took notice of the spiral staircase that was built around the trunk of the tree. Carlota followed them up the stairs while still admiring their craftsmanship and ingenuity.
Carlota:"How long did it take you to make all this?"
Malika:"A couple of months, to be honest."
Upon reaching the hut's level, Carlota took a moment to admire the view, seeing much of the jungle from a bird's eye view and even a lake and some mountains in the distance.
Carlota:"This place does look rather nice. Despite what it's put me through already."
Malika:"Stick with us and you'll have your back on this. Now come on up."
Carlota:"Okay."
Heading up to the main hut, Carlota and the other girls begin to enter through the doors.
Carlota:"You know, it's pretty amazing how the three of you are able to do all this."
Tricia:"Oh, it's not just the three of us."
Carlota:"Huh?"
She was left confused until they opened the doors and enter the main hut, revealing four more girls that make up their herd. The first to stand out amongst the other three was a Black skinned girl with white slicked-back hair that reached just below her back, had a muscular body, and was wearing a grey bikini that looked to have been made of wolf skin. Her name was Kimberly, and she looked very much like an Amazon in Carlota's eyes. The next girl had fair skin, and blonde hair tied in a long ponytail, but not as long as Carlota's. She also had blue eyes and was wearing leopard skin two-piece attire with the same style for wrappings on her arms and legs. Her name was Angelica. The third girl was a redhead with freckled skin. Her hair was short and wavy with a white bandana tied around it, and she was wearing a tiger skin two-piece suit. Her name was Wilma. The last girl was a Latino like Carlota but with a lighter tan and dark brown hair that was in a braid that reached her waist. She had a leaner figure and wore a grey-brown cloth attire. Her name was Daniela, or Dani for short.
As of right now, Kimberly was sitting on a light-grey, makeshift throne that was made of a tree stump as the seat, some cut wood as hand rests and a large wooden slab as the back, and she was talking to the three other girls, whose attention turned to their hunters coming back...with a newcomer of all things.
Carlota:"Who are they?"
Malika:"Other survivors. They've been in some similar situations that got them here, like us."
Carlota:"And the girl on the throne?"
Kate:"She's sort of like our leader. Kimberly's been here longer than any of us."
If she was their leader, then Carlota thought that maybe she could help in some way to get her home quicker. And that is when the three girls walked over to the rest of their herd.
Kimberly:"Kate, Malika, Tricia. How was your latest hunt?"
Malika:"Pretty good, but we ran into a complication."
And that is when the three gestured over to Carlota, who felt a little awkward about this whole thing.
Tricia:"This is Carlota. Another victim of a crash site."
Carlota:"Uh...hi?"
While she was feeling out of place here, Kimberly came down from her thrown and moved to get a good look at Carlota, eyeing her up and down, getting a good look at her body. And not to mention that she took notice of her thick legs, along with how bottom-heavy she is.
Kimberly:"Where is that you come from?"
Carlota:"Um...I was heading home after a trip to Europe when the plane I was on suddenly crashed. I was...the only survivor."
Kimberly:"Well then...(puts her hand on Carlota's shoulder) Welcome to the party."
The others remain stoic about adding another to their herd. As long as Carlota can prove herself useful, then they don't mind.
Carlota:"Look, as much as I appreciate that...I just want to get home."
Kimberly:"...I'm afraid it's not that simple...we've all tried before...but none of our ideas worked. It's almost as if this jungle doesn't want us to leave."
That did not make Carlota feel any better. And makes her wonder just what the heck is wrong with this jungle.
Kimberly:"But if we're lucky... then maybe we can get you back home. Can't make any promises though. For now, let's just get you situated. We'll see what we can do to help you."
And with that, Dani and Kate lead Carlota to where she would be staying. The only room they had left for one more person was to bunk with their most...unique member. They weren't sure how to entirely explain it to Carlota, but they were sure she wouldn't mind as they walked across a rope bridge to one of the room huts. This one in particular had a big door and a flag with a Japanese kanji on it and also seemed to have been made of bamboo...
Dani:"Just so you know, our last member has her own room for a bit of a reason."
Kate:"Yeah, she can be a little rude at first, but she means well."
Carlota:"Okay...But what do you mean by that?"
And that's when, upon opening the door to the hut, Carlota was caught off guard by what her roommate really looked like. She was a female sumo wrestler, with raven black hair tied in a small high ponytail, and was wearing a traditional black colored mawashi with matching wrappings over her chest. And right now, she was eating a leg of ham while having what looked like tuna sushi. Safe to say that Carlota was a little intimidated by her, nervously staring wide-eyed as the girl stuffed her face with the food, and with the girls behind her, moving towards the door.
Dani:"Carlota...this is Fumi. Fumi...Carlota."
Fumi:"Mmf...I did not ask for a roommate."
Now Carlota realized why this girl had her own room, as the girls weren't kidding when they said she was rude.
Kate:"It's...just how she is."
Carlota was looking unamused, with a frown on her face and groaning towards Kate and Dani. But taking a deep breath, she decides to make the best of the situation and introduce herself to the large sumo girl.
Carlota:"Hi. I'm Carlota...nice to meet you."
Fumi gave a mild wave before going back to eating, much to Carlota's dismay. All the while, Kate and Dani were already outside the hut, looking ready to bail.
Kate:"Welp, we'll leave you to it. Best of luck to you. Bye!"
And with that, the two left quickly. Making Carlota feel abandoned, but she continues to calm herself and see if she can make the best out of the situation.
Carlota:"Well, it looks like we're gonna be rooming together for a while, huh?"
Fumi:"(shrugs) Just don't take up too much space."
That was sort of ironic for her as Carlota kept those thoughts to herself.
Carlota:"She was the one taking up a lot of space."
As Fumi continues to eat, a piece of meat came off the ham and landed on Carlota' right face cheek, disgusting the Latino girl. Deciding to at least try and be generous, Fumi takes a bit from her sushi and offers it to Carlota.
Fumi:"You need food?"
Carlota:"I...think I've lost my appetite. (wipes off food chuck with two fingers)"
Fumi shrugs and goes back to dining as Carlota walks over to the spare bed that was in the room. The bed was more like a net hammock made of a multi-fabric that's spread and tied at four corners with wooden frames, and with a green blanket on top. And when she tried to lay down and rest on it, Carlota could not find herself getting comfortable on the thing. Not only because she can still hear Fumi eating, but just because the bed was uncomfortable in any position she took. So, until she could rest on her own, she decided to past the time a little.
Carlota:"Um, Fumi? How long have you been here?"
Fumi:"About three years. Was on my way to a tournament when my plane crashed."
That caught Carlota by surprise. Just how many accidents happened to get some many people trapped in a jungle? That was something she would have to figure out tomorrow as she finally seemed to get settled in on the mattress.
Carlota:"Well...sure feels like there's gonna be a rough time ahead."
Laying on her back, she closed her eyes and fell to sleep.
