Chapter Ten

Sorry that I have not updated in a while. I am starting a new job at Potbelly's; my son is starting school soon and I have been so busy at work. I really want to thank you guys for the reviews and reading this story. I won't make it super long, but it will not be half- assed either. Kyoran had healed from his wounds and started destroying things; he even slaughtered a servant in his rage. He could not believe that he was defeated by his former mate and Toga's sons especially Sesshomaru. Kyoran could tell that Sesshomaru had fallen for his former mate and that Serafina had feelings for Sesshomaru as well.

I will not let Sesshomaru have her! Once I kill him, she will be mine and after I killed their loved ones, she will bear me an heir and I will become unstoppable said Kyoran. He murdered his father for the throne and decided that unlike his father, he would show his enemies no mercy and he would rule with an iron fist. Now that Serafina was a beautiful demoness and with tremendous power and immortality, he would be unstoppable and conquer the world. He would be the most powerful man in Feudal Japan. He sat on his throne and ordered the servant to clean and dispose of the body. A wicked grin came across his face and knew what his next move would be.

Serafina and Sesshomaru sat down and were enjoying tea and having a conversation. Sesshomaru found her laugh so beautiful and see did not come off as snooty either. Many demonesses would talk about nails, hair, materialistic things and not hold a conversation but with Serafina, he could talk to her about anything from battle strategies, politics, weapons, and about their mothers. Sesshomaru learned from Serafina that her mother Alina was known for her kindness but also had a habit of being too honest with people whereas Serafina learned from Sesshomaru that his mother hated humans and ever since Toga died, she never took another mate. His mother was also known to act as if she was superior to everyone.

"And I thought my mother held a grudge. It seems like I would have to truly impress your mother. I hope she will like me and Syuri" said Serafina worriedly. Sesshomaru smiled and kissed her hand, reassuring her that everything will be okay and if it came down to choosing her or his mother, he would choose Serafina. Serafina smiled and kissed him. They were enjoying themselves until a servant interrupted saying it was time for dinner, so the couple got ready and headed to the dining room. Everyone was already there and Inuyasha had the biggest grin on his face.

"So Sesshomaru, how are you and Ms. Firebird doing? I'm surprised that she hasn't try and burn you into a crisp after that huge argument you two had a while back. Women are scary" said Inuyasha as he shuddered at tall the times Kagome has sat him and how he didn't get a broken back is beyond a miracle. He knew Kagome is scary when she gets mad and ever since she became pregnant, it was worse. Serafina used her pyrokinesis to set Inuyasha's butt on fire again.

"You were saying?" Serafina said as Inuyasha poured water on his injured bottom. Kagome stifled a giggle. She was at least 6 months pregnant now and Serafina had some kimonos made for her to accommodate her growing baby bump. Kagome ate her steamed fish, rice, and tempura vegetables. Her appetite was growing as well. Syuri hardly touched her plate and Sesshomaru noticed.

"Is everything okay, Syuri? You hardly touched your food" said Sesshomaru until Syuri burst into tears and cried into Rin's shoulder. Serafina started to worry. Something must have scared her daughter and she was determined to find out what it was. Rin said that Syuri tossed and turned all night and a blue fire burned one of her dolls.

"I'm sorry mommy. I had a vision about Grandpa Kinjiro's murder. I saw daddy put a poison in his tea causing him to be weak and left him bedridden then daddy took a dagger and started stabbing him. He kept screaming mommy! Daddy was covered in blood and had this crazed possessed look into his eyes" Syuri said as she cried into Rin's shoulders. Rin and Shippo comforted her. Serafina realized that Syuri was coming into her seeing powers at a young age like she did.

"Oh honey. I saw the same vision as well. Why didn't you tell me?" said Serafina, tears in her eyes. Syuri told her that she did not want to make her mother sad about Kinjiro's death, but Serafina assured her that everything was okay and that next time she should tell her mother about her visions. Sesshomaru patted Syuri's head gently and she smiled at him then hugged him which surprised Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru was angry at Kyoran. It is one thing to want power but to murder your own father for it was dishonorable while yes Kinjiro was not the nicest lord, he was honorable and a great leader. Sesshomaru remembered when him and his father went to the funeral of Kinjiro's mate Suara who died from a terrible illness. Losing your mate was worse than death especially since when demons lose a mate, they follow them in death. Demons mated for life. Sesshomaru felt bad for Lord Kinjiro especially since Lady Suara was known for her kindness, mannerism, and spoke highly of her husband as Kinjiro spoke highly of his mate Suara. Kyoran would pay for murdering his father. Hoang came to the table, and he had a scroll in his hand.

"Lady Serafina, here's a letter for you. It is from your late father-in-law, and he even left you a dagger as well. He wanted to come and see you to give it to you as gift, but he died before that could happen" said Hoang who gave it to her and bowed before he left. Serafina opened it and read it.

Dear Serafina, If you have gotten my letter, it means that Kyoran has killed me. He is no longer the son I knew, and I am sorry for not being able to see you and Syuri one more time. When we first met, I treated you like the dirt under my boots but as time went by, your kindness, determination, and tenacious spirit moved me. You remind me so much of my Suara and when you gave my granddaughter her name: Syuri Suara Takahashi, I was over the moon. I blame myself for my son's cruelty. I know Syuri will grow up to be an amazing woman like you. I had this dagger made for you as a late wedding gift and I forged it with my own fang. I am with my beloved Suara and at peace. I will be watching over you, my daughter and my granddaughter as well. I love you both, my princesses. Until we meet again.

Kinjiro

After reading it, Serafina cried into Sesshomaru's arms as he held her. Kyoran would pay Sesshomaru heard her mumble. Inuyasha and Kagome felt bad for her. To find out that your father-in-law was brutally murdered by his own son for power was heartbreaking; Kagome said a prayer and wished Kinjiro a peaceful rest in the afterlife. Inuyasha, on the other hand, balled his fists up and started to growl, startling everyone. His eyes kept going from red to gold then gold to red. He was fighting for control and then he spoke.

"I want that bastard's head! First, he is cruel to his own daughter and killed her mother in front of her but luckily Serafina got resurrected then he injures my pregnant mate and now come to find out he murdered his old man for power?! At least he had his dad while I did not even get a chance to know mine! It's bastards like him I hate the most: demons who think they have the right to bully the weak and take from others. I promise you, Serafina and Syuri, he will pay with his life!" said Inuyasha. Syuri hugged him and eventually Inuyasha calmed down. He did not want to scare the girl he considered like a niece. Serafina decided that it was time to come up with a strategy and if they could combine their attacks altogether, Kyoran would be dead.

After dinner and baths, everyone headed to their rooms. Kagome felt movement in her stomach. The twins were kicking, and she was looking forward to their birth. Serafina had already requested a midwife on standby in case Kagome went into labor with her pups. Sesshomaru kissed Serafina before heading to his room. Rin and Syuri high-fived each other.

"Rin, I'm sorry I was a bit mean to your dad, I just don't want my mom to get hurt anymore. I will give your dad a chance and maybe he will come to like me," said Syuri. Rin smiled and hugged the girl who became like a little sister to her. Rin and Shippo headed to bed. Syuri, on the other hand, headed to Sesshomaru's room and found him laying on his bed.

"Lord Sesshomaru, it's Syuri. I know I have been quite mischievous but after seeing how happy my mom is, I realized not to judge a book by its cover and when you and my mom becomes mates, I hope you would accept me as your daughter" Syuri said as she bowed. Sesshomaru got up and patted the girl's head; she hugged him, shocking the stoic lord.

"I understand you want to protect your mother, but I do love her, and I do accept you as my child just like I did Rin, who sees you as her little sister and the fox kit as her cousin. I will protect you and your mother along with Rin. I know you are still wary of me, but this Sesshomaru can guarantee that I want you and your mother apart of our lives" he said, hugging her. He smelled tears and could tell she was crying out of joy. She was happy because she was finally going to have a father in her life. She then headed off to bed, feeling light as a feather.

Serafina was lying in her bed, tossing and turning. Her eyes turned white as she was having a vision. She saw Kyoran holding a bloodied sword and standing over the bodies of her loved ones with the smile of a madman. Her screams woke up everyone, but Sesshomaru rushed in and held her tight; her body was burning up and tears ran down her face. Sesshomaru purred and held her, whispering sweet words to her. Her eyes went back into those beautiful browns, and she calmed down. She told Sesshomaru that she had a vision of everyone dead even him. Inuyasha scoffed.

"It is going to take more than that to kill me. I don't die so easily" said Inuyasha. Kagome smiled until she felt a pain and something trickling down her legs.

"Inuyasha, I think the babies are coming!" she said, holding her stomach. Serafina got her bearings together and called for the doctor, midwife, and nurses. She used her speed to carry Kagome into the delivery room. The room was ivory and golden with a king-sized canopy bed. Everyone except Inuyasha waited outside. He held his mate's hand as the doctor told her to start pushing. Kagome pushed and started to scream.

"I can't do this!" Kagome cried but Inuyasha held her hand, reassuring her.

"Kagome, you can do this! We have been through a lot, and you can do this. You have given me more than I deserve: a family. We got this" said Inuyasha. Kagome gave a big push, and a cry was heard. The midwife cleaned the baby and was told it was a baby girl. She had black hair with two cute black, triangular dog ears, and when her eyes opened, they were a beautiful gold color.

"She beautiful" said Kagome then another contraction hit as another baby was coming. She pushed along with encouragement from her mate then the sound of another baby crying was heard. The baby was cleaned and was told it was a baby boy. He looked like a carbon copy of his father: golden eyes, silver hair, and two silver/white triangular dog ears were on his head. She smiled and was laying down exhausted. Inuyasha was over the moon! He had a beautiful mate, two beautiful pups, and made amends with his brother.

"For the girl, I will name her Izayoi Taisho and Toga, our son whom we will name after his late grandfather" said Kagome as she went to sleep. Inuyasha smiled at those names and kissed his mate's forehead as she rested. Everyone came in and saw the twins. Serafina was happy for Inuyasha and Kagome. Once Kyoran was gone, she and Sesshomaru would start a family. Sesshomaru gave a light smile and congratulated his younger brother.

"Maybe once Kyoran is gone, Serafina will become my mate and we can have an heir, along with our daughters. She will make a fine wife, mother of my pups, and some beautiful pups. I only want her as my mate no one else" Sesshomaru thought. Serafina smiled and blushed at him.

"Of course, I would love to give you an heir, my Lord. I plan for us to have a big family. Remember darling, I can her yours and other people's thoughts" Serafina said with a smirk. Inuyasha looked stunned. He did not know that about Serafina so that meant she heard everything he said about her. Serafina smiled and told Inuyasha all was forgiven. She had two guards surround the delivery room and told everyone to leave to give the couple a chance to relax.

Inuyasha watched over his mate and pups. He wanted Kyoran gone because he had a family to protect now. He went to sleep but remained alert to his surroundings. Serafina also had servants attend to Kagome as well. She is a new mother and deserves the best care. A scout came and approached Serafina. He looked beat up and injured but alive, nonetheless. He told her that Kyoran was residing in Lord Kinjiro's castle and found out he was taking young men from the village to join his army.

"It seems like my ex-mate is getting scared. He is starting to realize that I will not come to him so easily. Thank you, Ryo, this information will come in handy" Serafina said. Sesshomaru overheard the conversation. Kyoran was getting afraid and will start to become more unhinged, making him more dangerous. They needed to be careful and not underestimate him. Kyoran was not going to fight fair. Serafina heard his thoughts, and he was right: now was not the time to let their guards down. It was time to think of a way to bring him down. Unbeknownst to them, something dark was coming their way and Serafina sensed dark tidings, praying to Kami that everything would be fine.

Okay guys! Kagome had her twins and Serafina learned where Kyoran was hiding but something wicked would be coming their way! Will everything work out for our heroes and what dark, evil thing does Kyoran have in store for them? Thanks for reading and keep the reviews and comments coming!
