Chapter 11: Big Break
Franklin walked in the door of the recording studio, the cool AC felt good against the Los Santos heat. He walked upstairs to the studio, where CJ and Jackie were waiting. "Franklin, how are ya?" CJ asked Franklin. "Good, man. How is everything?" Franklin asked in response. "Well, we got two more tracks to record. Then I think Jackie's record is ready to be released." CJ replied. CJ looked at Franklin, he then looked at Jackie. "I'll let you two get to it. I got a meeting with Solomon Richards about using his studio for a music video." CJ told Franklin. CJ walked out, leaving Franklin and Jackie. She got in the booth and looked at Franklin. "Start the beat." She told him. Franklin started the track, it had been pre recorded the day before. Jackie started singing.
After the session, Jackie walked out of the booth. Franklin noticed her attire, which was a black mini skirt, thigh high converse, and a Love Fist belly T shirt. She grabbed two beers out of the mini fridge and sat beside Franklin. "So, that blonde girl? The 'actress'? You two serious?" Jackie asked Franklin. "Not really, I mean I like her. And her dad is my good friend. But she keeps leading me on." Franklin replied. Jackie got on top of Franklin and started straddling him. "Well, I think you're a catch." She told him. Franklin got excited, yet reluctant. He slowly pushed Jackie off him. "Let's keep this professional." Franklin told Jackie. She pouted a minute and folded her arms like a child. "Fine." She replied. Jackie grabbed her beer and took a drink, Jackie's dad Caesar walked in the room. He wore a polo shirt and khaki pants. "Hey, babygirl." He said with a smile. "Hey daddy." Jackie replied. Caesar looked at Franklin. "So, what you think? She got potential?" He asked Franklin. "Potential ain't the word man. Girl is on her way." Franklin replied.
After the recording session, Franklin walked outside. The hot air of the weather took him back, he immediately got into his car and turned on the AC. He left the recording studio and drove down the street, his phone rang and it was a call from Tracey. "Hey, babe." Franklin said as he answered the phone. "Hey, come by work and pick me up. I got some exciting news!" Tracey told Franklin. "Sure thing babygirl, I'll be there in a few." Franklin replied. He hung up the phone and drove towards Richard's Majestic, he pulled up to the booth. The guard looked at him, he recognized Franklin and opened the gate. Franklin drove to Tracey's trailer, where she sat snorting a line of coke. Franklin parked the car and got out, Tracey put away the mirror and unrolled the $1 bill she used as a tooter. "Hey baby, what's the news?" Franklin asked her. "I'll tell you as we drive." Tracey replied. They got into Franklin's Comet and drove off.
They drove down the street, Tracey's excitement grew as they drove. "So." Tracey told Franklin. "So?" Franklin asked. "I have been cast in a new horror movie coming up, as the main lead!" Tracey said with excitement. "That's great babe!" Franklin exclaimed. "Yeah, it'll be a big step up. And if it hits, it'll mean more roles!" Tracey told Franklin. "We need to celebrate." Franklin told Tracey. "We do!" Tracey replied. "I'm gonna drop you off at the clothes shop, pick you out something hot. I'm taking you to a dinner tonight." Franklin told Tracey. Tracey squealed in excitement. Franklin drove to the women's clothing shop and dropped Tracey off, he then decided to drive to Ponsonby's and buy himself a tux.
