Foresworn HP/VS
XVI: You say Fiery Crash, I say Dynamic Entry
Getting out of Britain was easy enough, Harry levelled his sword at an Auror as he collected his money and with an empty mundane coffee can Neville, Dean, Seamus, Hermione and Harry were spiralling away.
As usual everyone bar Harry landed on their feet. Harry landed on his face, the gigantic pouch of gold nearly scattering across the floor of the British Embassy in Japan. After quickly leaving and acquiring a magical compass, the teens found themselves in the Northern Japanese Islands "Are you sure this is the portal we want?" Hermione asked nervously.
"Nope. It's a portal home, I don't know how it works but all you're needing to know is hold onto Neville. As for me…" Harry remembered that heart shaped face, the bunny eared woman he'd come to love.
"I've a Vorpal Rabbit to brave, alongside surviving the biggest guy you could ever think of. He's about 7'2 give or take." Hermione giggled at that.
"So, how do we want to do this?"
"Neville, you take them through. Get to Patch, then head to Mistral specifically Haven Academy. Meet up with my brat of a sister and the numbskulls who're with her. On top of that, stay safe; back Ruby in whatever dumbquest she's got into her head. I'll...catch up, I have a feeling I need to go to Vacuo, pick up Velvet and Psychedelics, then over to Menagerie to pick up Ozpin's Little Gents."
"Ozpin's Little Gents?"
"I'm 6'0, Adam is 6'1 and Nanuuk is 6'2. Damania's 5'11, so we're not so little as for the Gents...we've told government officials to fuck themselves on a bilgehook."
Seamus grinned "Loyal to this Ozpin, you're all really big motherfuckers and you're unpopularly blunt and rude. Where do we sign up?" Seamus asked.
Harry smirked as he looked at them and at the shimmering veil of their location "Survive." With that with his back to the gap, Absolution on his back and Reaper on his hip, tipped backwards and vanished from sight.
It was like falling through apparition, in a vacuum with accompanying kaleidoscopic lights. However, when one jumps through a veil such as these as one squints, the lights aren't really lights...the lights in fact are other universes linked by only one thing, the one that travels the path.
If not for the fact, Harry hadn't been focusing on Velvet Scarlatina like Dorothy thinking 'No place like home. He would have dared to catch a peep of the paradigm of possibilities that could have been his life. As he fell through the veil, his destination Velvet there was one thing he hadn't considered...his landing strategy.
(CFVY) Yatsuhashi, carefully banked the dust-powered sand-skiff, narrowly avoiding a large Jackalope Grimm. Although avoiding is a strong word, it was more of an altered course so Fox could decapitate it.
"Jackalope down, Yatsuhashi let's get going." Coco called, Yatsu grunted and the skiff began shooting fowards; Shade Academy apart from being the only sort of order in Vacuo were often sent to distribute water or wind and ice dust to form water to the nomadic tribes.
It didn't help that they were also being tasked to bring Slate, ex-mayor to Tuff, to Feldspar; then as they were doing so had encountered Carmine Esclados and Bertilak Celadon; professional huntresses who had been tasked to protect a wandering tribe. The water they'd been given had been divided up between the tribe members. It was quickly discovered that Carmine and Bertilak were aiding August and Edward Caspian, Grandfather-Grandson duo, to Feldspar as well.
Velvet, let out a sigh of relief, the seasoned Huntsmen were going to be an asset for their job. They had taken a break for the evening with Carmine manipulating some generated glass and forming a sturdy but primitive barrier.
"You're rather quiet Scarletina. Waiting on something?" Velvet turned around, hand going for Harry's sword; her hand settled on the grip. It was
warm, not unpleasantly so, but warm enough to touch to reassure her that her boyfriend was still alive.
"Escaldos, I am. Just waiting on something, a sign, for someone."
"A boyfriend?"
She nodded, she didn't mind the female company. But there was something off about her, Escaldos was concealing something, Harry was better at calling people out; but she knew that she'd wait and see. As the duo patrolled, the night sky with the stars aglow, suddenly lit up. It was a momentary flash of light but one that quickly faded as it arrived.
"Velvet, did, you see that?" Velvet turned to see Fox ambling towards them, with Yatsuhashi bringing up the rear.
"I saw…" Velvet watched the illumination and with difficulty, she managed to track something in freefall "someone's falling from the sky."
Carmine nodded "Then we'll find what's left of them in the morning, that is if the Grimm haven't eaten it." Just then everyone saw Velvet's katana beginning to glow a bright silver.
"Is...your...sword supposed to do that?"
"I never said the sword was mine. It's technically my boyfriends, it's his backup weapon which he seldom uses. As for it glowing silver; the blade is as weird as its creator, my boyfriend. He told me as long as the hilt was warm, he was alive...wouldn't give me a precise state on his condition other than alive or dead. The fact its glowing silver means my boyfriend must be nearby…Because of how well I know him, I would say that he is possibly the cause of that momentary flash."
Carmine gulped and paled "There's no-amount of Aura that'll stop him from splattering across the desert! He's dead."
"He'll be fine. When he hits the desert, what's liable to happen?"
Carmine paused "Bit of smoke and flames, bit like a Bulkhead going down. So, a fiery crash and charred corpse."
Fox snorted "You call it fiery crash, he'll call it dynamic entry...We've seen him get eaten by a King Taijitu and be fine."
Carmine nodded "Considering, your friend and your Rabbit-colleagues boyfriend survived being eaten...We'll find him in the morning. I apologise for sounding crass, apathetic and even quite frankly dismissive of him but out there it's going to be colder than ice dust and we're too few Hunt Personnel to even contemplate looking for him."
Velvet paused, her boyfriend could well be back. She stopped, took a breath to calm her racing heart. "It's shit, being a Huntsman...isn't all about slaying Grimm, saving people and being famous. Sometimes its about making hard choices; Velvet Scarlatina, if for whatever reason you're in a position where retrieving me is going to jeopardize your mission…stay with the mission. I'm not going to go quietly into the night." The internal voice was her subconscious and guilt; it didn't help at all that it sounded like Harry in one of his very sincere and pragmatic moods.
(Harry) Realm jumping sucks, falling out of the sky sucks even more. Landing in a desert inhabited by nomadic tribes, plagued by extreme heats both hot and cold and Grimm.
All in all, heading to Vacuo and Shade was a bad idea. "Why did I not say, hey hon I'm back. Currently in Patch, where are you? But no, I wanted to play the wandering lover. But as Jaime Lannister rightly said 'The things I do for love' although what followed was horrifying but the words are true." Harry lay there in the sand and he looked up at the sky, his aura had with the merging of his magic allowed him to comfortably crash without permanent injuries; it didn't mean they didn't hurt though.
Harry got to his feet, closed his eyes; felt past his aura and to his magic. He shivered as his soul positively glow with power; he could feet the dust in the air, the faded magic; concealed not felt, wanting to throw away his advantage. "Point me, Velvet." Magic flowed through him, as sand compacted itself, levitated and began to float to the east.
With boots that had holes in the soles of his shoes, jeans that were tattered, ragged and torn and equally ragged top. Sword on his hip, Harry slowly followed; his thoughts not of fear, anger, sadness or even desolation but ones of relief, happiness and even welcoming a blooming
romance. Harry smiled as he tracked through the frozen desert; this was going to be a beautiful evening.
However as he crested a hill; his knees and hands rather cold and numb from the sixteen other dunes, he'd walked; climbed and even crawled up. He'd manipulated the atmosphere to keep himself from passing out from thirst; sleep, well A) it was for the weak and B) he'd sleep when he'd found Velvet. The thing that caught his eye were the small flotilla of sand-ships, floating off the desert floor, surrounded by some hefty glass barricades.
Then he felt it; it felt like an earthquake but the burrowing tunnels snaking towards and around him begged to differ. There was a kickback of sand, followed by a multitude of roars as three cossal Grimm erupted from the sandy depths.
The last thing Harry saw was a maw full of teeth and tongue similar to that of Jormungandr, the World Serpent. Harry detached Absolution and lighting crackled to life "Twilight of the Thunder God." He snarled as the mouth swallowed him.
