A/N: Not a whole lot happens in this chapter, so I'm going to give you guys a double update today and next month, we'll be back to one chapter. Unless of course I manage to finish the story between now and then.

Hiccup drew back, nearly falling backwards as he tried to avoid the gunfire that erupted just in front of him, through the door.

Well now I know she's in the hallway behind the door. Just gotta wait for her to run out of ammo-ah, perfect timing.

So Hiccup returned fire, then ducked, keeping his head down and listening for any more gunfire.

There was a single gunshot, then nothing, and so, he went inside to see Kai standing over the body of Frederick's murderer as she gurgled her own blood.

"Good job Kai," she spun on the spot to face Hiccup, gun raised.

"I could have shot you, Haddock,"

"But you didn't," he responded as he re-engaged the safety on his gun. "So uh… where's Frederick?"

Kai's face fell, lowering her gun as she turned around, nodding towards an open door nearby.

"Alright then miss gloomy. We're going out for a bit, you and I."

"We do that and people will talk," she tried to joke before her shoulders immediately sagged.

"When do they not? C'mon."

"Ketchup, Aage, one of you keep an eye on Dan and the other clean up the place for some kind of funeral for Frederick. Bonus points if you can figure out how we might get him back to Denmark for a proper funeral. In the meantime, Kai and I will go for a walk while I call Ulf and a few other people I know, then come back. It'll be good for her headspace

"Understood," said Bekker, after a glance past him to where Kai stood, gazing at nothing in particular. "Dibs on keeping an eye on Dan."

"I'm cleaning then," Aage groaned from his seat in the back of the car. "Wonderful."

"Chin up, friend. You'll survive. Kai, ready to go now?"

Kai blinked, shaking her head. "Sorry, spaced out for a sec just now. What is it?"

"We're going now. C'mon."

They were walking down the street away from their hideout when Hiccup spoke again. "Do you want revenge, Kai?"

"What kind of fucking question is that? 'Do I want revenge?'. Hell fucking yes. But I know I can't get it. That bitch is dead."

"She is. But the guy who told her to do it is still alive, and I think I know who did it."

"Who?"

"My boss. A man named Johann. If we make him think his pawn was successful in killing all of us, naturally he won't see us coming. So again I ask you, do you want revenge?"

Kai grinned. "You have my interest and my attention. Tell me more about this plan of yours."

"With pleasure."

"Security, who is in the building so far?"

"Just Sigrid, Viggo and Haddock for now, sir."

Johann froze, slapped his cheeks to wake himself and then spoke. "Did you say Haddock?"

"Yes sir. Henry Haddock. Is there a problem with him being here, sir?"

Yes. "No, no. Just surprised he's back so soon. I expected his operation abroad would take a little longer."

"Ah, right. Well, let me know if anything important comes up sir."

"I don't think anything will, but sure."

Johann left his office, taking his coffee cup along as he headed across the hall, through a set of double doors and then down the stairs to the floor where Hiccup's office resided.

"Come in," came Hiccup's voice from within, when Johann knocked on his door.

"Hiccup. This is an unexpected surprise. When did you get back?"

Hiccup yawned. "Early in the morning. It was a long helicopter flight back from Iceland," he answered, then reached for his cup of Starbucks coffee.

"Where's your team then?"

"Sent them all home. Thought they deserved some time off. Bekker and Kai aren't on Berk right now."

"I see. And Frederick?"

"Frederick is dead. How is Naja doing? She get to Afghanistan okay?"

"I'm sure she's fine. Did you say Frederick is dead?"

Hiccup stared at him. "Are you going to pretend that you didn't already know that, at this time of the day? If you pursue that lie, I will throw my cup of coffee at you, then throw you out a window. Do. not. try. Me."

"Message received. I will be leaving now."

"Good. Don't come back here today."

He didn't ask about Dan, and he seems to have bought my lie. I'll be with you in ten. Don't start the funeral till I get there.

So saying, Hiccup put his phone away and rose, leaving his office thereafter.

First step of plan, complete.

"Okay, one, two, three, push!"

The group, now totalling six, did so, propelling the craft out from the jetty at a slow pace, then separated to allow Hiccup to toss in a match.

Aage, who stood on his left, sighed, as the flames started to pick up, aided by petrol. "R.I.P. Eret's boat. I'll miss it."

"We all will, I'm sure," said Fishlegs, standing on Hiccup's right. "Oh, you remember that trip we took around the coast of the UK?"

Hiccup sighed, then spoke while Aage groaned in frustration. "Yeah… This feels like two funerals are happening at once. Alright, time to make the fated call to Ulf."

"Leave that to me, Fishman. You go see your fiance - Astrid or whatever her name is - then figure out when and where we'll kill your boss. After that, don't come looking for me. We'll be through when that time comes."

"Roger that. And thanks."

"Don't thank me. I don't want any credit for this shit."
