Jason actually wished he could have been wrong this time around... of course when has it ever been that easy for anyone part of the Bat Family again? This is not what he expected would happen though, he would have thought there'd be more rampage like Hulk level...

The roof exploded from the impact made by the Rogue Titan's fist as the trio moved out of the way, Mikasa barely moving in time as she gained a small cut on her cheek and hit the side of a chimney

Mikasa was able to regain her composure quickly as she used her ODM gear to grab a long piece of the Titan's hair to hang in place. Jason gave her points for courage as he and Tim stood off to the side with blades ready for anything that may happen. Friend or not, they were both trained by Batman to be prepared for anything

"Hey! Stop, Ackerman! Get away from him!"

"Eren! Don't you recognize me?!" Mikasa yelled out in a desperate tone, ignoring the order given to her "It's me, Mikasa!" she said as the Titan glared, making her try to continue and reach him "Your family! You have to seal the hole with that rock!"

At this point, Tim noticed as Rico had grabbed a red flare capsule before firing it into the air. Tim felt that he wouldn't have done that after one setback. He's had so many of his own missions take a turn for the worse, but he always finds a way around them to get back on track. No way is he going to allow this mission to be a failure and he knows Jason doesn't plan on backing down either

"Eren! You're human! You're-" Mikasa was still screaming, but didn't seem to notice the way the Titan was clenching his fists. However someone else did as she heard Jason telling her to watch out. This in turn allowed Mikasa to jump away as she winced at seeing Eren slash himself with his own fist

Jason didn't know what to make of that. Had Eren done that on purpose or did he want to attack Mikasa? He knows the two have a complicated relationship, but didn't for one second think that he'd ever attack his best friend... cough girlfriend cough. Heck, Eren would be horrified if he were to find out he almost tried to kill her... that scratch on her cheek being a souvenir of his rampage was sure to get a reaction from him once this was over

"What the hell? He's just a regular dumb Titan!" Mitabi says making Tim give him a glance before turning back to Eren, his eyes narrowing in deep thought

"Eren!"

"Captain Ian! Two Titans approaching from ahead! A 10-meter and a 6-meter!" called out a solider from a nearby roof

"A 12-meter closing in from the rear!" another shouted soon after

"Ian! We have to withdraw. There's no way that kid's sealing up a hole in his current state!" Mitabi says as Rico adds in telling him they have no choice but to leave Eren behind

At hearing that, Mikasa threw them both a glare. Jason mentally commented how they would have been turned into a pile of ash should she have had the ability to melt them with one look and had to hold back a smirk at seeing how Ian caught her glare only to look away. Oh she would have gotten the Bat glare down easily

"What are you doing? Make the call! Ian, this isn't your fault! The whole mission was a long shot to begin with! We all understood! It was worth a shot and we did the best we could! So our teams are going back up the wall now!" Mitabi says and Jason really did not like this guy, he was basically saying 'Let's abandon Eren!'

Of course Mikasa was not happy with that comment. She looked ready to attack the guy and Jason would be lying if he said he wasn't tempted to join in

"Wait!" Ian steps in between, blocking her "Wait. Calm down Ackerman, same for you Todd" he tells them both as Tim is crouching down near the edge of the rooftop, ignored by the others "Rico team, take out the 12-meter one in the rear! Mitabi team and my team will deal with the two ahead!"

"What?" Rico exclaimed clearly not expecting that

Ian just snaps "I was the one to be appointed as leader. So shut up and obey. We can't leave Yeager defenseless!" Rico at this could only watch with a stunned look on her face

However, Ian ignores this and continued "Change of plans! We're to defend Yeager from the other Titans until we can recover him! He holds a precious chance for humanity. We can't abandon him just like that! Because unlike us, he can't be replaced"

"Eren might have abilities, but doesn't mean any one of us is expendable either. We all have family, dreams we want to fulfill" Jason mumbled with Mikasa the only one who heard him as she gave him a small glance

"Hundreds of people have died in this mission alone for that failure of a human weapon! Yet you want to recover him and go through this same thing all over again?!" Rico demanded

"That's right. We have to keep trying, no matter how many people die!"

"Are you serious, Ian?!"

"What is with you people. How do you expect to win if you don't try and make more of a stand against these Titans?!" Jason snapped as they turned towards him

Tim in turn only gave him a glance before turning back to the Rogue Titan still unmoving. He made a note at the fact that the Titan wasn't healing any of his wounds and worried if that had something to do with the fact on Eren's current state of mind

"You make it sound as if I know... I have no idea how to defeat the Titans" Rico tells him as Jason sighed at the response

Tim finally stood up as he moved to stand beside Jason "So you want to quit? Plan went down the drain and you just rather pack your bags and leave. Survive to fight another day? Did you actually expect there not to be casualties? I get feeling the loss of those you care about. Two of my friends died, my parents are died, Jason is-was almost killed. However, all those lives that were lost in battle, they went down fighting for something they believe in. Don't let their deaths be in vain! How would you feel if you'd died for others to continue the mission only to find out it was all for nothing? We have a chance at victory, something that hasn't been done easily. If you want to run, I won't stop you. But you'll live knowing that had you been their maybe more lives would have been spared"

Rico and everyone else, not counting Mikasa and Jason, seemed to have been affected by Tim's words. Ian in turn sighed before he himself offered some words "Exactly, that's why we must do this now. It's our only option. We have to lay down our lives and go down bravely for this so-called human weapon we barely know anything about! It's pathetic, isn't it? That this is all we humans can do. So, what'll it be? This is our battle to wage. Our chance to struggle!" Ian says with determination as Jason and Tim nod at his words, glad to see someone isn't going to throw down the towel and call it quits

"I can't accept that" Rico walked away as Ian called out to her. However it seems Rico wasn't done talking just yet "But I'll follow your plan. What was said by Trainee Drake and your assessment is correct. As Trainee Todd said a while ago, if we don't make a stand we'll never win against the Titans. I will struggle and fight with everything I've got and give these Titans a well deserved taste of humanities might. I will not die for nothing, refuse to do so! My team will handle the 12-meter one on the rear"

"Thank you captain Ian... Tim, Jason, you two were a big help too" Mikasa says with graditude clearly in her tone

"There's no need to thank me Ackerman. To be honest, I was scared of what would have happened next. Todd wasn't much help since it was easy to tell he was prepared to jump in to help you" Ian says with a sigh

"Yes sir"

"This is to protect your boyfriend after all" Ian says as Mikasa's face suddenly becomes as red as a tomato. Jason couldn't help but smirk at how everyone seemed to agree on the whole EreMika relationship status. Everyone could see it but the two in question. Tim rolled his eyes at the whole ordeal, but even he admitted that anyone with blind eyes could tell they loved each other... even if they had different ways of showing it

"He's family" Mikasa replied, looking down

Ian didn't say more and instead took off. Mikasa turned back to the Rogue Titan 'Huh? The damaged parts haven't repaired? Is it because of his earlier wounds?' she thinks, not knowing Tim had similar thoughts to her own. She was beginning to get worried on whether he'd be able to become human again until she shook her head, words from earlier about trusting Eren and

"One 13-meter Titan! It's headed straight for Yeager!"

Jason reacted faster than any of them could, using his ODM-gear he got above the Titan and went around it as if trying to confuse it before dealing the killing blow with no trouble. Tim on the other hand was currently standing over Eren's head as he surveyed the area for any incoming Titans

"We have more Titans coming through the gate! Four of them, around ten meters high!"

"Ackerman, take the rear!" ordered Ian as she nodded and ran

"Drake! Todd! Don't let any Titans get near Yeager!" Ian told the two brothers as they nodded before Ian looked over his shoulder "Let's hold them off here!"

"Understood!" Mitabi says

'Elite soldiers or not, two teams can't handle so many Titans at once' Mikasa thinks to herself running before she jumped off the roof and dealt with the Titan in her front of her. Her eyes drift over towards Tim and Jason as they are seen making sure no Titan can get even inch close to Eren 'Still, both of them... they've have proven time and time again how they aren't afraid to lay down their lives... as if they are used to this sort of thing'

"You know I thought for sure we wouldn't be dealing with this many Titans due to the others acting like bait for these flesh eaters" Jason tells Tim through the com-link they both currently have on since they weren't able to stay in one spot long enough to exchange words at the moment "Not to mention Eren doesn't seem to look as if he'll be waking up any moment. Where's a super powered alien or meta-human when you need one?"

Tim whips the sweat from his forehead before answering Jason "What I'd like to know is why these Titans seem to be drawn towards Eren. It happened earlier, remember when he was fighting some Titans with his abilities for the first time? How they ganged up on him. Do you think they somehow are able to tell the difference between Eren and an actual Titan?"

Jason grunted from the hit he'd just received before dodging a giant hand reaching out towards him "That would explain how most of these Titans found us to begin with. Heck they literally appeared out of nowhere! Tell me you have a plan by now on how to get us out of this mess"

Tim threw a few of his own weapons at the Titans without worry of being seen since no one was paying them much a attention "We need Eren to come to his senses! Whatever happened as soon as he activated his abilities, it made him knock himself out cold. We need Eren to snap out of it otherwise none us of will survive much longer"

Jason was quiet, Tim only able to hear as he swung his swords "Alright pretend and say you're right. How do you expect to wake him up? Knock on the door and politely ask him to get his butt moving again?"

"You're not going to like it" Tim says with hesitation since even he doesn't want to do this... but if it meant saving all those lives down their and those fighting, he'd do it and Jason will too

Yes! I was able to update right on the last day of the month! You know I'm starting to have trouble on how to change things up with Jason and Tim added. But I don't plan on giving this up. When the first season is done, which I hope I'll finish... then I'll decide if I will continue or not. Would be cool if the whole AOT storyline was done with the two former Robins especially if I make the reveal happen at some point (No this does not mean it will happened, but it could ^^)
