A/N: Okay so it's no secret that I'm a big fan of Logan Huntzberger and that I've written a few stories centered around his and Rory's relationship however one relationship that I wished we had gotten to see was Rory and Tristan. So therefore I've decided to create a universe centered around them. So I hope that you guys enjoy.
This first chapter starts close to the Chilton graduation. The only main difference in this story is that Luke and Lorelai are already married. Luke always knew about April. April and Rory are two years apart and they grew up like sisters. April currently lives with them and also goes to Chilton. They've been together since Rory was 5. Everything up to graduation is the same as the series after that is completely AU. Hope you enjoy.
Chapter 1 - Tristan POV
The Chilton graduation was quickly approaching. Paris had emailed me and told me that Rory's boyfriend had just up and left without even a goodbye. She told me that if I still had feelings for Rory that graduation would be the best time to approach her. She'd even sent me a ticket to graduation. I looked up from my computer where I sat on the couch in my grandfather's house. Guess it's now or never.
Ever since I'd left Chilton when my father had sent me to military school, I couldn't help but think about her. I'd never given her any reason to trust me but when Paris had emailed me and told me that Rory had decided to go to Yale instead of Harvard I knew that I had to be there. It wasn't a secret that Paris had been pissed when she'd found out that I was in love with Rory but when she'd met Jamie the summer before senior year, she'd agreed to help me. And she'd done exactly that. She kept me up to date on all things Rory Gilmore. Now I just had to show her that I was serious.
Rory POV
"What do you mean your dad pulled you from school?" I asked him.
"I got into some trouble." He said.
"Oh no." He nodded. "What kind of trouble?"
"The kind that involved me, Duncan, Bowman and Bowman's dad's safe." He told me.
"Tristan." I said barely above a whisper.
"Yeah, so now it's military school in North Carolina." He told me.
"So I guess this is goodbye then." I said disappointed.
He nodded. "I'd kiss you goodbye but your boyfriend's watching." He said.
I shook my head. He turned and started to walk away. "Tristan, wait." I said causing him to turn around. I walked over to him. "I don't care if anyone's watching." I said.
He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me to him. I looked up at him. He leaned down and gently kissed me. "I will come back for you." He whispered in my ear.
I woke up. It was the same dream. It was always the same dream. And I always wake up at the same point during the dream. I climbed out of bed and threw my robe on. I walked out to the kitchen where I saw Mom sitting and fixed myself a cup of coffee. "You had the dream again didn't you?" She asked me. I nodded. "You think there's any chance that he's back in Hartford?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. I need a shower." I said walking to the bathroom.
A little while later, Mom, Luke, April and I were walking through the gates of Chilton. "I have to go find Paris." I told Mom. "Make sure you save seats for Grandma and Grandpa." Mom nodded.
As I walked across the quad in search of Paris, a head of blonde hair caught my attention. At first I thought that I was dreaming until he walked over to me. He was holding a cup of coffee and a bouquet of sunflowers. How did he know? "Hi." I said.
"You look incredible." He said.
"Thanks. What are you doing here?" I asked him as he handed me the coffee.
"Paris sent me an invitation. I wanted to see you." He said. I nodded. "I know that your crunched for time right now, but maybe after the ceremony we could get some coffee and talk. I really need to tell you something."
I wasn't really sure what to say so all I did was nod. "I should go find Paris. Thanks for the coffee." I said smiling at him.
"Your welcome." He said.
I couldn't believe that he was here. I'd thought about him so much over the last year and a half that I was worried that I'd never see him again. As I made my way through the main building to find Paris, I couldn't help but think about what I wanted to say to him when we went to get coffee. I knew that I needed to tell him how I felt I just wasn't sure if he even felt the same.
After graduation, Grandma and Grandpa showed me the car that they got me and told me that they would pay for the insurance. We took pictures and the grandparents left. I told mom that I had to meet a friend for coffee and then I would be home, knowing that she and Sookie had been planning a small graduation party. She was suspicious but didn't question it.
After mom had left, I went in search of Tristan. I found him talking to Paris. I walked over and joined them. "Hey guys." I said.
"Hey. So I'm gonna go but I'll see you at Orientation?" She asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah. Grandpa got us a double." I told her.
"Cool. Tell him thanks for me." She said and I nodded before she walked away.
I turned and looked at Tristan. "So coffee?" I asked and he nodded. He told me where the coffee shop was that he wanted to go to and I told him that I'd meet him there.
When I pulled into the parking lot, I could see into the coffee shop. He was already sitting at a table waiting for me. I took a deep breath before I climbed out of my car. When I walked into the coffee shop, I walked over to the table and sat down across from Tristan. "Did you order?" I asked him and he nodded. I nodded. "So, you said that you had something that you wanted to tell me." I said, quietly.
"Yeah, I uh… I wanted to apologize for the way things were before I left last year." Tristan said. "There was no reason for me to be a jerk, but I was. Truth is… I liked you. I mean I really liked you and I guess that I was having trouble dealing with those feelings. Granted I've gone out with girls but with you… it was different."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I wasn't some conquest like I'd originally thought. "You said liked." I said. He looked at me confused. "Does that mean that you don't anymore?"
The waitress brought our coffee and left. "Rory, I'm in love with you. I have been for a while. When Paris emailed me and told me that your boyfriend had essentially broken up with you by leaving town, she sent me a ticket for graduation convincing me that I should come and tell you about my feelings." He said.
I sat back in the chair. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Wow." Being the only thing that I could say.
"Good wow or bad wow." He said.
"Definitely good." I said as the waitress brought our coffee. "Every night I have the same dream. It's the night that you left. The only difference is that you actually kiss me before you leave. I regretted you not kissing me before you left. I hated that you even left. I wanted to talk to you so many times." I said.
"I really wanted to." He said.
"So now what?" I asked him.
"I want you to be my girlfriend." He said.
Double wow. "What about college? Aren't you going to Princeton?" I asked, knowing that his father had gone to Princeton.
He shook his head. "No. I'm going to Yale." He said.
I took a drink of my coffee. "How's your dad feel about that?"
"He was disappointed. But then my grandfather convinced him that I needed to follow my own path. I'll still become a lawyer like he wants, I'll just be doing it my way." He told me.
I nodded. "Wanna come to a graduation party?" I asked smiling at him. I knew that I hadn't told him how I felt about him, but I was hoping that inviting him to the party would speak for itself.
"Sure you want me to come?" He asked me.
I nodded. "Of course. Why wouldn't I want my boyfriend to come to my graduation party?" I smirked at him.
"You mean it?" He asked and I nodded. "Well, what are we waiting for."
Tristan POV
When Rory and I got to her house, I suddenly felt nervous. I parked my car behind hers and got out. I walked over to her car and waited for her to get out. "You okay?" She asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah." I said. I grabbed her hand and pulled her into my arms. She wrapped her arms around my waist. "I really missed you this last year and a half." I said to her.
She looked up at me. "I really missed you too, Tris." She said. I let go of her and put my hands on each side of her face, leaning down and kissing her.
When I pulled back, I noticed that she didn't cry this time. "No tears." I said.
She smiled. "Nope no tears." She said.
Rory POV
When we walked inside, Mom was the first one that we found. "Who's your friend?" Mom asked.
"Mom, Tristan. Tris, meet Lorelai." I said.
"Nice to finally meet you Lorelai." Tris said.
"Why does that name sound familiar? You look familiar too." Mom said.
It would click in a minute. "Mom be nice." I said.
She gasped. "Spawn of Satan." She said.
Tris looked at me confused. "Mom…" I said. Then April walked into the room.
"What's going on?" April asked. Then she noticed Tris. "Oh, hi." She said.
"April." Tris said.
"How was Boot Camp?" April asked. I rolled my eyes.
"You two are horrible." I said.
"Excuse us." Mom said. She and April grabbed me and dragged me into my room. Once we were in my room and the door was shut they both turned and looked at me. "What's he doing here, Ror?" Mom asked me.
I told them about Tristan surprising me at graduation and the chat that we had during coffee. "He's my boyfriend now. He says he changed, I'm giving him a chance." I told them.
"Is this because of the dream?" Mom asked.
"What dream?" April asked.
"Yes…no…maybe." I said. "The dream doesn't matter. What matters is that I like him. I'm giving him a chance. You should too." I said.
"Fine." Mom said, giving me a wicked grin. "Go introduce him to Luke."
"I will." I said. I walked out of my bedroom and back into the living room. I noticed that Tristan was talking to Luke. I walked over to them. "Hey." I said.
Luke turned and looked at me. "You did great today kid." Luke said.
"Thanks. I see you two have been talking." I said.
"Yeah. We were talking about sports. He a friend of yours." Luke said.
"Actually…Tristan is my new boyfriend." I told Luke.
"Oh." Luke said. "I guess it's nice to meet you…officially." He said obviously nervous.
"Tris, this is my step-dad Luke." I told him.
Tris held his hand out to Luke. "It's nice to meet you sir." Tristan said.
Luke shook his hand. "I hope that I don't need to say this but if you hurt her they'll never find your body." Luke said.
"Never gonna happen sir." Tristan said.
"Good. I'll see you two later." Luke said, walking away probably to go find Mom.
I turned to face Tristan. "So would you like a tour of the town?" I asked him and he nodded.
I quickly found Mom and told her that I was going to take Tristan on a tour of the town and that we'd be back.
As we were walking around town, I noticed that Tristan had taken my hand and entwined our fingers. "What are your plans for summer?" He asked me.
"Well, Mom and I are leaving tomorrow. We're going backpacking through Europe." I told him.
"That sounds like fun but it's also a bummer." He said.
"I know but Mom and I have had this trip planned for years." I told him.
"When do you get back?" He asked.
"The end of July." I told him.
"Well I'll be waiting at the airport when you arrive." He told me.
"I'd really like that." I said smiling at him.
