Not an update - A warning
A very popular fanfiction author (cambrian) just got banned due to his fics having NSFW content (smut). Rumour also goes on various discord servers that FFN might start another purge.
If you're a writer that has nsfw content in their fics or if you're a reader and don't want to lose your favourite fics, you might wanna download them asap.
I have already removed the limes and the lemons from my fics and will probably not post sensitive content on this website anymore. I'll put the nsfw stuff on another website (you know where) with restricted access to it.
As for the matter of me starting another HP fic, I would love to but I am stumped. I cannot think of an interesting plot for a new fic. I mean I do have two ideas in mind but one is too dark and I'd rather not do it (a serial killer Harry Potter inspired by the tv series Dexter) while the other is a crossover with AC: Odyssey (time travel to Ancient Greece) but I know from the previous polls I posted back in the day that most of you aren't interested in that - and what is a ffn writer without their readers? Nothing.
I've been looking up plot bunnies and ideas on discord and on reddit for months but to no avail. Reddit in particular is filled to the brim with low-effort prompts and tropey stuff or slash. Maybe it's because I've gotten old(er) or maybe because I've been in this fandom for too many years but I have a hard time finding anything that interests me. There are so many tropes I dislike that hardly anything passes those "filters" and when something does go past them, I usually lose interest after a few chapters. I haven't read a HP fic in months... sigh.
Anyway. I hope you're doing okay. Don't forget to back up your favourite fics that are in danger of getting erased. Just to make it clear, a second purge coming about is just a rumour. But it's better to be safe than sorry.
