The Las Vegas Crime Lab was loud from police walking and talking and machine running as people talked. CSIs and Lab Techs moved around the halls working and consulting different test results. Judy looked up as Sara Sidle-Grissom walked into the lab with a toddler on her hip.

"Hello Sara, hello Yara."

Sara smiled and pointed to the desk. "Can you say hi to Judy?"

"Hi." The tiny child with a head full of dark curls waved at the receptionist. "I see Daddy."

Grinning, Sara looked at her daughter. "Yeah, we're going to see Daddy." She waved to Judy and the woman waved back. "Oh, you're getting heavy." The brunette stated as she readjusted the toddler on her hip.

Gil Grissom was walking out of his office when the toddler yelled after him. "Daddy!"

Sara put the toddler down and she ran to the entomologist, who reached down and picked her up. "Hello my Ladybug."

"I a butterfly, Daddy. I no ladybug." The toddler was quite insistent.

"You can be both." Sara stated before kissing Grissom. "Having a fun double?"

The man rubbed her arm with his free hand while holding the toddler. "Recreation is always fun. How is your day going, my darling?"

"Ask your daughter."

"What have you done today, my butterfly."

"We go to park and see ducks. Mama take me to ice cream." Yara stated loudly. "We go to book place."

"Ah, so Mama took you to the library. Did you find any books you liked?"

"Uh huh." She put out a hand. "Five. Mama said you read to me before you worked."

Sara chuckled and reached out to brush back a curl that stuck to her daughter's cheek. "I said I'd see if Daddy can read to you before work tomorrow night. If not, I'd read a book before Lindsey comes."

"Oh ho, if it isn't Miss Yara." Greg Sanders walked down the hall and instantly stopped. "Hello there. If it isn't my third favorite person in the world."

Yara waved to Greg, "I see Daddy today."

"Definitely a thing to do. Are we still gonna watch Lion King I and Lion King II this Friday while Dad and Mom go out? With popcorn and maybe ice cream?"

"Uh huh." Yara nodded her head. "Pizza."

Greg reached out and took Yara from Grissom, who let her go knowing Greg was a favorite. He also knew his three year old was safe with Greg. "Shall we go see all our favorite people while Mom and Dad talk about work?"

"Go see." She waved to her parents. "Bye Mama, bye Daddy."

"Don't get her too excited Greg." Sara told the man who might as well be her little brother.

Greg Sanders walked through the lab with the toddler, who everyone adored. He stopped first in A/V where Archie was reviewing casino footage. "Princess Yara has arrived."

Archie turned and grinned as he saw Greg and Yara. "Oh it isn't the Crime Lab's princess. What are you up today, Yara?"

"Mama take me to park and ice cream and book place. I get five."

"Well, you must have had an exciting day. Mine is boring, I have to watch people walking around."

Greg chuckled, "well, on we go to see everyone in the kingdom."

They found Catherine and Warrick in the breakroom going over files while eating a meager lunch. Catherine looked up and grinned. "Yara, how is my goddaughter doing?"

As she was placed on her feet, Yara ran to Catherine. "Auntie Cat, Auntie Cat."

The red head lifted the toddler from the ground and held her. "Did you have fun with Mommy today?"

"We go to park and ice cream and book place."

"Well that's a full day." Catherine stated and smiled at the little girl her daughter babysat at night. Lindsey was a freshman at UNLV and needed money for whatever she wanted to do so she stayed at the Grissom townhouse at night to watch the toddler. She found the job gave her room to do her studies outside of her day classes while Yara was at school and the couple paid her well for the care she provided.

Warrick reached out and took the toddler's hand. "Did you have fun with Mommy all day?"

"Best day ever!"

Catherine looked at Greg, "I'm claiming her now, back to work."

Greg nodded and walked around the table, tickling the blue-eyed curly brunette. "Okay, you and I have a date on Friday. Don't stand me up."

Catherine left Warrick to the files and walked to the layout room where Nick was going over videos. "Knock-knock." She tapped on the doorframe and Nick looked up. "Look who came to visit?"

"Well if it isn't Princess Yara." Nick chuckled and took Yara from Catherine. "Did you have a fun day with your mama?" Yara nodded and Nick chuckled. "You came to see your daddy, didn't you?"

Yara grinned, "Daddy read me books from the book place!"

"I bet he will. Now, if you ask me, you should ask him for a pony."

Catherine laughed, "oh Nick, they're gonna see right through that demand."

Nick looked at the toddler in his arms. "You should go see Aunt Wendy, she's working with Ronnie in the garage."

"Auntie Sofia?"

"Oh I don't think Aunt Sofia is coming today. You'll definitely see her in three days though when you spend time with Uncle Greg."

"Come on Sweetheart," Catherine took the toddler back easily and she hung onto Catherine's neck. "We'll go see Aunt Wendy and Ronnie before going back to Mommy and Daddy."

The garage was a mess of car parts, they'd only had the parts instead of the whole car. The chop shop had done a great job at trying to get rid of the car. Wendy, now a CSI, was working with Ronnie regarding the parts. Ronnie had transferred to Night Shift when an opening came. Night Shift had expanded from six spots to eight.

"I'm not seeing it!" Ronnie nearly yelled. "Why can't they just have a neon sign pointing to the location."

"Yelling is bad." Both women turned to see Catherine and Yara in the doorway.

Wendy chuckled and walked over after taking off her gloves. "Oh if it isn't Princess Yara. Come here you." She cupped the girl's face and kissed her cheek. "I'm so happy to see you."

"Auntie Wendy. Me help!"

Wendy shook her head. "Not this car baby girl, it's a bad crime car. I'm sure you'll be helping your mom and dad with their cars soon enough."

Ronnie walked over after taking off her gloves. "Sorry I yelled Yara. The bad guys are doing bad things and we can't find the evidence we need."

"Daddy say think outside the box." She shrugged, "outside car."

Both women looked at each other before Wendy spoke. "We've checked the inside components but did we check the exterior of the car?"

Ronnie grinned. "You are so smart Yara."

"I know."

Catherine laughed. "I should get you back to your mommy. Say bye."

Yara waved, "bye."

Yara waved to all the techs and CSIs as Catherine walked her towards Grissom's office. "Hi, bye. Hi, bye. Hi, bye. Hi, bye."

Knocking on the office door, she found the two talking as they looked at the same file. If you didn't know about the toddler in Catherine's arms, you could think it was years before where they were just boss and employee. "I have something of yours." She put the toddler down and Yara instantly ran to the terrarium in the corner where Grissom's spider was.

"Telli." She poked the glass. "Hi, Telli."

"How'd she do?" Sara asked and Catherine chuckled, watching the toddler glance at the spider with fascination.

"She may have broken Ronnie and Wendy's case."

Grissom looked over at his daughter. "Of course she did."

"Well, I will leave you three to visit." Catherine squatted down. "Yara, come give Auntie Cat a hug goodbye."

Yara ran over and hugged Catherine. "Bye Auntie Cat."

"I'll see you later Princess Yara." Kissing her head, she stood up and the toddler immediately went back to the spider.

Sara shook her head. "You guys have to stop calling her Princess Yara."

"That's not likely to happen." Catherine smiled and pointed. "Don't cancel your plans this weekend. Greg is looking forward to a Lion King marathon and I know Yara was asking for Sofia. Wouldn't hurt for her to be around a baby considering you're pregnant."

Sara looked down at her belly, which was seven months into her pregnancy. "Oh, that's what this bowling ball strapped to my middle is."

"Just remember not to be late to your own baby shower week after next." Catherine stated, "bad form all the way around. Plus, you need new items since you're having a boy this time."

Grissom chuckled under his breath as he saw Sara glare at Catherine. "We don't need new stuff."

"It's free baby items Sara, suck it up." Catherine shook her head. "I'll see you two later."

I named her Yara because it means 'small butterfly' in Arabic. I felt like it would be a name Grissom would give his daughter and Sara would probably think it pretty.

Let me know what you think about this story if you so wish.
