Chapter One: The Secret Weapon of Kohan
Kimiko was an Uchiha but only a few knew of her existence because she made a deal with the Hokage when she was about eleven. The deal was for her not to be seen by the townspeople of Kohan because the Uchiha clan was like a dark stain on the village's history. Kimiko became almost the perfect weapon for Kohan. As far as the townspeople were aware Sasuke was the last Uchiha.
Of course, it can be hard to keep a child a secret when one family is aware of her existence. Nara's family was very close to Kimiko's family and Kimiko stayed with them during the genocide happened. They are a strong and important family that could not have been just killed off for knowing about one child. Kimiko would stay with the family and they offered to take her in but she declined the offer. Kimiko even spent time with Shikmari and would encourage him to be friends with Naruto. She decided to live on her own and visit the family from time to time.
Kimiko went by her mother's last name Uzumaki. She is Naruto's cousin because his mother was her mother's younger sister. She has her mother's long red hair, her father's onyx eyes, a tall, strong build, and a large bust. Her history is long and filled with death and tragedy. Kimiko was not like most children because her father taught her to be a soldier at the age of four. She lived on her own since she was about eleven due to her parent's death during the Uchiha genocide. The third Hokage spared her but he also made it seem like she died in the genocide. He used her as his secret weapon. Kimiko was just a child but there had been many rumors about her since she had killed a child for power. However, it had been a tragic accident but it did lead her to get her Sharingan. Her father Dachi Uchiha had wanted her daughter to be the strongest Uchiha to tell her how to get the Sharingan and how it could evolve. He did not think it would happen at a young age. However, this event only made Kimiko stronger and she wanted to be able to protect the people that she loved. Kimiko mastered Chidori and Ryūka no Jutsu at a young age. On the other hand, her mother taught her to use her abundance of charka to her advantage as well. Kimiko learns to use and create seals from her mother. She would practice with Itachi and who is one of the strongest Uchiha.
This tale is long but let's start where Naturo's ninja journey starts. Kimiko is 18 during this portion of the tale. When he was chosen to be on Team Seven with Kakashi.
In the Hokage office, early in the morning, Kimiko was in her Anbu uniform which was black and white protective armor, and her fox mask on the side of her face. She spoke to the Third Hokage Hiruzen about her concerns. Her hair was in a long braid and her body language is closed off. Kimiko had her hands crossed and a serious face. She had been patient for many years and wondered why she could not be the guardian of Naruto.
" Now that I am a legal adult of 18. I think I should be able to see him more often. I am his only family in this village. One of the few people that care about him. He is not some monster. Please give her more time with him." Kimiko asked the old man before her and wondered if he will finally give in to her demands. She has been asking to be in Naruto's life since she was an Anbu. She was 14 when she became an Anbu. Naruto always had Irkua supporting him and Kimiko was in the shadows watching him grow. There have been times when she would talk to him and tell him that they were related. She wanted that bond with him and she took care in the best way that she could.
But she was not present for his childhood because she was training in different villages. Kimiko was too busy growing stronger and learning to hide who she was.
No one could know she was an Uchiha no matter where she went. She would mask her appearance and not use any Jutsu that related to the Uchiha Clan. Kimiko was heartbroken when her parents died and all she could do was get stronger and learn from other villages for a few years. Kimiko learn how to use different weapons and focused on seals as well.
The third Hokage was tired of the same conversation and the young Anbu would ask him every year for this request. He wanted to keep Naruto isolated because he was worried that he was ticking the bomb. With a big sigh " Fine. I will allow it. But you can't tell him who his parents are. He must not know about his past yet. I don't want to trigger him. " His voice is stern as he smokes a pipe.
There is a knock on the door and Kakashi comes in without asking if he could come in.
Kimiko is annoyed but allows the disruption. " Thank you for the opportunity. I have to check on that troublemaker. " She turns to leave but the Hokage did not dismiss her.
" One moment, you wanted to know more about Naruto. Kakashi will have Naruto on his team. Maybe you will be in contact more often." Hiruzen smiled and knew their past well. They had worked together in some missions and knew each other when they were children. Hiruzen had to use Kakashi's help to calm down Kimiko a few times. The young man was one of the few people that knew Kimiko's existence.
Kimiko has been aware of Kakashi since was a child. They had a long relationship. They had an eight-year difference. She would play with Kakashi's teacher as a child and be part of his students' training.
Kakashi and Kimiko trained together for a few years and had lots of other adventures. That will be uncovered all in due time. If we tell you all the secrets it will not be as much fun.
The red hair groans in frustration. " As if he would pass this group. I am aware of his passing rate. I don't know why he is a teacher. " Kimiko was planning to go to Naruto's apartment for a daily inspection of food. Naruto was not the best at eating healthy and Kimiko tries to get him to eat better.
Kakashi failed all the teams he had in the past." Not sure, yet. You never know Kimiko this might be the team for me." Kakashi gave a sly look and wondered where she was off to.
"Well, I think we should check on Naruto's home to make sure he is doing well," Hiruzen says and the two ninjas agree.
"I will meet you there. I must complete an errand." The redhead left and got some groceries for Naruto. She is aware that he was running low on a few things. They had a funny relationship. Naruto would call her sister and be so happy to see her. Kimiko was always busy on missions so she could not spend as much time with the boy. Kimiko wonders if she ever disappointed Naruto. She moves fast through the village like the wind. Kimiko is not as fast as Minato but close. She gets to Naruto's place and sees the two men inspecting his living space.
Naruto is a messy kid but he did not know any better. He had to raise himself for the most part.
"Looks like Naruto might have drank some bad milk." The third Hokage noticed ad he smelt the milk carton.
Kimiko sighs" Again? I am surprised this kid is still alive. I got him some food. Find anything else of interest?" She looks at Kakashi and ponders what his judgment of Naruto was. Kimiko restocks the fridge and ramen. She writes a note to Naruto about the food. It was their way of communication and he would write her notes to read.
"No, but he seems like a normal kid, '' Kakashi says and knows that Naruto is different.
" I have meetings to attend. Have a good day. Kimiko, your next mission will be in my office. " The third Hokage left the pair in the small apartment.
Kimiko stands and Kakashi sits down. Her stone face slowly melted away and she could just be herself in front of Kakashi at least for a moment. They look at each other without saying a word. It is strange because they both knew of Naruto. But did not take the time to care for him as best as they could. Kimiko feels overwhelmed with emotions because not Naruto is not a child anymore. The redhead did not want to succumb to her feelings but is hard to fight them. She worries that he will be in danger and that she can't protect him. She felt helpless and she had to trust Kakashi. Her body felt hot and quivered from the emotions. The redhead walks closer to Kakashi and touches his face. " Please take care of him. I can't lose him too." She falls to her knees and feels the hot tears fall.
Kimiko lost so much in her life and Naruto was one of the few worth living for. She was not always an emotional person but Naruto was important to her. She feels Kakashi's hands on her face and looks toward him.
The odd couple always had a bond whether or not they admitted it. Kimko had been attached to Kakashi since she was a child. He knew of and rejected her as a child even though her family tried to help him. Kakashi was a broken child as well but he never let that be in his way to success.
The older man sees that Kimiko cares for Naruto. But he is not there to lie to her that everything will be ok. He did want to comfort her and it felt normal. Kakashi is eight years older than her but it never bothers Kimiko. He was drawn to her and wished it was different.
He wipes the tears off her beautiful face. "I can't promise you anything. Naruto needs to learn to protect himself and his teammates. But I will always protect my students. He had to grow up too." Kakashi is honest with his friend even if she did not want to hear it.
The redhead puts her head in Kakashi's lap. " I know. But not like us. I don't want him to be like us." Kimiko had learned how to be a killer with little remorse and not to have compassion for others. She is aware the that village had ostracized him since he was born. Naruto was never really a bad child but he acted out for attention that he never got from a parent. For Naruto, it was better to be yelled at by someone rather than be ignored by everyone.
Her father made her the perfect soldier. She was trained at a young age and so did Kakashi. They were trained to be killers or warriors for the Village.
" What? Strong or depressed?" Kakashi says with a laugh. They did have a similar past and went through a similar path. He pets Kimiko's soft, bright red hair. He wishes they could spend more time together however there was a barrier. " I think he will be fine. But we should go before he finds us like this." Kakashi says and even blushes. He knows that Kimiko is now an adult but other factors affect their relationship. Kakashi would never push Kimiko into anything and he knew the deal.
Kimiko feels comfortable with Kakashi like this it feels so right. But she knew she had a mission waiting for her. " Of course. I don't want him to be depressed." She smiles as she wonders if Kakashi is blushing. Kimko looks up at him, pulls down his mask, and kisses his lips softly. " Thank you." She vanishes to a different location. She leaves Kakashi stunned and touched his lips.
"Sneaky fox." Kakashi leaves the small house that had been similar to his own.
Kimiko goes into the Hokage office to get her mission. She had a long history of taking dangerous missions. She would do assassinations, protect details on important citizens, and information gathering, and do impossible missions. Kimiko is a woman with a lot of powers and she does Kohan's dirty work. Hiruzen gave her difficult missions to see if she could get rid of her which she had heard in the past. It had been a possibility. He had eliminated others because he demeans them as unsafe. The redhead was one of the most unsafe ninjas because she had so much power. She would never use it for evil at least not yet.
Kimiko had her fox mask on the side of her face. She was not to be seen and tried to read the mission's outlet quickly. Kimiko has done missions with teammates or solo. She was in awful situations as a young woman and she learned to get information from men easily. She hears the door open and wonders who it was.
" I see you are reviewing the mission. It will be easy for you considering you have a train in this area. Sunagakure? I need you to check on the students that plan to be in the exam. The other details as well. Be on the lookout for anyone who could sabotage the exam. " Hiruzen says as he is in office and explains the important details of the mission.
The redhead nods and covers her face. " Yes sir. It should be a simple mission. I will pack and leave at nightfall." She disappears from the office and gets ready for her mission to Sunagakure. Kimiko goes into her small apartment and feels someone in her presents. "Itachi?" She could sense some charka who had been familiar to her.
A man comes from the shadows, tall, with long hair, and black eyes. "Were you expecting someone else ?" He asks as he looks at her. Itachi has a hat on and his hair in a neat ponytail.
"No, I was not expecting anyone. Is there a reason why you are here?" Kimiko asks as she packs her bag. Most people would be terrified by being in the presence of Itachi. However, the redhead was used to these visits. He has been checking on her since she had a major accident during a mission.
Itachi and Kimiko had been betrothed since they were children. Their fathers' thought they would make a good pair. Kimiko's father wanted to protect his daughter at any cost even if it meant her marrying someone she did not love. Itachi had not been interested in Kimiko as a child because he has someone else that he loved. However, he did train with her and always beat her. Kimiko would get frustrated with her betrothed when she lost. On the other hand, it made her want to be strong each time. Itachi had been two years older than Kimiko. Once Kimiko was an Anbu, Itachi watched over Kimko more because he was worried about her. There had been a reason why he had not killed her as well. Kimiko was part of his long goal and the key to Uchiha's future.
"I saw you with him. I thought we had an arrangement?" Itachi says in a tranquil tone and gets closer to Kimiko. He is aware of Kimiko and Kakashi's relationship. He is possessive of Kimiko and gave her some rules.
The redhead sighs with annoyance. She stops her packing and looks at Itachi with a glare. "Really you came all this way to check on me? Why does it matter? We are not even dating." She is getting frustrated being on a leash even though they did have their rules
"I can have friends. I was vulnerable." It was such a strange relationship with Itachi because he did not want Kimiko to have relations with other men. He was never there and Kimiko did not have a lot of friends. She is lonely at times and it was hard at times.
"We both know you like him more than a friend," Itachi says in a cold tone and gets closer to Kimiko. He looms over her and pushes her onto the bed. Itachi is aware that Kimiko did not have a lot of friends or someone to confide in. But it was always Kakashi and it was frustrating. They always had a rival but they had been in a team in the past. Itachi and Kakashi had been a strong and effective Anbu team in the past.
Kimiko's heart races and her breath becomes rapid. Her face became red with embarrassment. She could feel Itachi's presence and his powerful chakra. Kimiko wanted to say something smart but it would only lead to more problems. She feels hot because she also did have feelings for Itachi but it had been complicated. He was never with her for a long time but when he could take her away. Itachi did not always get this close, at least not in her apartment.
There is a hand cupping her face and leans for a kiss. It was soft, and gentle at first. Itachi gets rough and forces Kimiko's mouth to open. Their tongues fight each other. She moans and her legs wrap around him. Itachi licks her bottom lip and bites it. Kimiko groans and feels him kiss her neck. Then a hard bite leaves a rather large mark. Kimiko bites her lip to stop any more loud noises. There had been a lot of sexual tension in the air. Kimiko could have continued but Itachi stopped at her neck. She whimpers as he stopped his actions.
He whispers in her ear "You are mine until I pass. Be careful with Kakashi. I don't know what his intentions are with you." His voice was stern but he soften his touch. Itachi held her for a moment and inhale her sweet scent. He touched her long redhead. Itachi did not care for a lot of people. She has been different because she understood him and she did not judge him. He was not sure if he loved her. Kimiko is important to him or at least his plan.
Kimiko nods and blushes. "I understand. I miss the attention." There is a long pause as she gets herself composed. " I missed you." Kimiko blushed and did not know how else to say it. She feels so empty and wishes for more. Kimiko wanted to beg for more. The redhead composed her thoughts knowing her needs would not be fulfilled that evening. "But I understand. You should go." Kimiko speaks her mind because they had been honest with each other. Even as children he told her he could never love her. She had that expectation from the beginning and her eyes wandered to other Uchiha. But of course, nothing came out of her childish fantasies because they were all dead.
Itachi places his head on her heart only to hear it racing due to his touch. Some days he wished things had been different. "Sorry if I had been harsh. But I worry you will betray me. Or be bewitched by another man." There is a pause and Itachi processes the words the redhead told him. "Do you miss me? All in fulfilled at the right time." Itachi speaks to her in a melancholy tone as he holds her. The couple had their moments of calm and they could almost work out. However, they both had different futures ahead of them. "I will see you soon. You are right, little kitsune." He gives Kimiko one last gentle kiss on the lips and leaves.
The redhead stays still for a few moments about what had happened. Itachi never cared when she spends time with Kakashi. Kimiko wonders what changed and if he will keep a closer watch on her. She completes her packing and wonders if anyone would remember her. Kimiko has not been in Sunagakure since she was a grieving child.
She was dressed in gray and tan clothes due to the heat in that village. The redhead slips into the night to the destination knowing she will have to reopen old wounds.
