My new Witcher Story, I hope you all enjoy this!
Here is my Discord: Fa4hZBeuND
It is a very sunny day in Pont Vanis, the summer capital of Kovir. Bright gold rays of sunshine illuminate the amazing glory of the Thyssen Palace. A morning breeze lightly tosses the red hair of Triss Merigold as she walks into the great Thyssen palace. All of the 10 respective guardsmen stationed in two rows on opposite sides of the illustrious red carpet leading into the palace bow to her as she walks by, and she gives them all a smile as she walks by.
"Good morning, my lady." She is greeted elegantly by Margarita Laux-Antille, one of her best friends and colleagues. Triss leads the Council and Conclave, and Margarita is not only one of her most trusted partners but a significant piece of the puzzle when it comes to politics and keeping everyone moving smoothly. After the final battle with the Wild Hunt, Margarita and most of the other mages split up again. Margarita chose to accompany Triss and Geralt to Kovir, where she was nearly executed due to her prior involvements with the lodge, and the schemes they had once had against the monarchy in Kovir… She was pardoned, however, after Geralt stood up for her.
Triss is astonishingly beautiful, and she is wearing a flowing and elegant green dress that has gold flames licking the entire length of the dress. A deep neckline reveals what she has to offer and what draws the eyes of every man that passes. A gold-red flower is placed in her hair for decoration, and two triangle shaped gold earrings hang from each of her ears. The same earring that she once lost in the best bed at Kaer Morhen was returned to her by her beloved, and now she can wear the set again.
Triss bows her head in respect and acknowledgment and greets her friend.
"Good morning, Rita. Are there any tidings?"
Margarita responds to her with a bow of her own head and replies: "His Majesty has requested you meet with him as soon as possible." Margarita informs her.
"Very well, please take me there."
A few minutes later, Triss and Rita find King Tancred Thyssen speaking to an unfamiliar man in a gray frock coat. They are catching him at a good time because he just finishes his conversation with them when they walk up, and he doesn't have a happy look on his face.
King Tancred is a very handsome man with a modest yet well-built stature. He is not unlike Geralt in his stature and is said to be a very good fighter, as well as a good king. Triss likes him a lot for his support of the mages, and he has done a good job ruling. He is fair and just and seeks out her council on many occasions, always taking it into consideration and using it to make the most well-informed decisions for the good of Kovir.
Margarita steps back with a courteous bow of the head when Tancred greets Triss.
"Ahhh, Miss Merigold, Good morning, and nice to see you." He greets her.
"Good morning, Sire. The feeling is mutual."
"No time for courtesies, allow me to introduce my informer." The king starts, looking to his right at the man standing there, who gives a bow and then gives his name.
"Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He greets, bowing to the Sorceress.
"R-Regis!?" She gasps.
"In the flesh.
They both smile and eagerly shake hands; both of them are happy to make this acquaintance.
"I-I can't believe it! Geralt has told me so much about you. I never thought I was going to get the pleasure! B-but-" sensing that she was going to broach the topic that Geralt did the moment he met Regis again, he interjects. This is not a topic that they need to speak about in front of the King, who does not need to know that Regis is a vampire, nor anything else for that matter.
"Hehehe, likewise my dear. Geralt was indeed telling the truth. It seems he has drastically improved his taste."
Triss smiles at the compliment, and asks him why he has come.
"It is good to meet you, but why have you come to Kovir?"
Regis looks to King Tancred, and the King nods, affirming the Vampire's suspicion that the King did not, indeed, wish to tell Triss the news.
"I unfortunately come with bad news… I worked side by side with Geralt to solve the mystery of the Beast of Beauclair, we did, but alas the Duchesses sister, Syanna, unfortunately met with a tragic death that neither I nor Geralt could prevent, and thus your Witcher is enjoying free room and board in the Toussaint Prison." He finishes with a gesture of his hand to indicate the importance of the information he just conveyed.
The King immediately interjects and breaks off any further discussion that could be brought forth by any of the parties involved here.
"Thus, you now realize why I had Margarita fetch you. Regis has deemed it to be unrighteous to inform me of the goings on in Toussaint, and that it is Geralt's private business… Thus I do not know what led up to the incident that tossed Geralt into prison, but I do know that under no circumstances will we allow Geralt to sit in the Toussaint Prison…" He states, and takes a deep breath, "This is why I have decided to lead a small diplomatic envoy to the land of Love and Wine to negotiate the release of the Witcher Geralt back to Kovir."
Triss immediately puts up a respectful counter opinion.
"I, Sire?" She inquires.
"Yes, myself. I am going to take Regis and yourself with me." He clarifies with a definitive gesture.
Margarita then cuts in from the side.
"Your majesty it is far too-"
"Dangerous? The duchess is a very stubborn and unreasonable woman. The duchess blames Geralt for the death of her sister. I suspect that in her current state she will not listen to anyone but another sovereign. Margarita has been diligently preparing a megascope teleport all morning long. General Montgomerey will be in command while I am gone. We leave in 10 minutes. Come Regis," he invites, indicating for Regis to follow him to the teleport room. "Tell me what you know of the Duchess."
Margarita receives the message that the King left her and dismisses herself with a bow of the head, walking off to strike up a conversation with some other Sorceresses.

Tancred, Triss and Regis emerge from the portal and are instantly amazed at the landscape and beauty of Toussaint. A perfect sunrise on the horizon paints the land in a hue of red , and showers the land in bright rays of contrast. One can see for probably miles around in every direction, mount gorgon, luscious trees and landscape, everything. The outline of Dun Tynne is clear on the landscape, a beautiful day.
As soon as they step out of the portal they only have enough time to look at the scenery for a few seconds before they are greeted by the Ducal Chamberlain. The King greets him and announces why he is here.
"I am King Tancred Thyssen, the Monarch of the Northern Kingdom of Kovir. I have come on important diplomatic business and wish to speak with the Duchess Anna Henrietta forthwith."
The Chamberlain bows deeply.
"Welcome to the Duchy of Toussaint, Your Majesty. Please, follow me, the Duchess is in the palace."
§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
"Your Grace," The Chamberlain announces, "His Majesty, King Tancred Thyssen, ruler and sovereign of Kovir and Poviss. With him, the Royal Advisor, head of the Council and the Conclave, Triss Merigold." The Chamberlain bows.
Tancred gives a small bow of his head, and Triss bows. Regis did not come along with them to the Palace to meet with the Duchess. He instead went to wait near the prison.
The duchess greets them with little enthusiasm. Clearly the woman had been crying before they arrived; her mascara is slightly smudged, and her hair, which is usually puffy and well groomed, now hangs with little life. Damien De La Tour, captain of the Duchesses persona and Ducal guard, stands beside her.
"King Tancred, welcome to Toussaint, please, how am I to understand the pleasure of this visit?"
Tancred steps forward.
"Duchess, it is good to finally make your acquaintance."
"The feeling is mutual, Your Majesty. I have heard much of a handsome young king who has driven a far off nation to unimaginable wealth and prosperity." Annarietta courtesies with a nod of her head.
"Thank you, Your Grace, I have heard similar stories of you." He compliments with a bow of his head, "The reason I have come is because I awoke this morning and was informed that you are keeping a Koviri citizen in your prison."
"Geralt has caused the death of my sister, Syanna, and awaits trial in prison."
"I am here to negotiate his release." He declares, stepping forward.
"Well, then you have come in vain." The Duchess declares, turning around and walking to her balcony that looks out upon the vastness of the land of Love and Wine. "Geralt will not be released from the prison, and he will await trial for his involvement and responsibility for the death of my sister, Syanna."
Triss's eyes grow wide from her place off to the side. That is not what she wanted to hear, and she is unimaginably worried for the safety of her lover.
"Your Grace, if I may-" Damien steps in.
"What is it!?" She snaps… The situation she finds herself in emotionally after the death of her sister is clearly great.
"Even though the death of Silvia Anna is the Witcher's fault, he did still solve the issue of the murders. He also solved many of the issues plaguing our streets in the city and in the land. He killed all 3 Hanse leaders and captured their fortresses again for our Ducal Guard. Also, imprisoning the Victor of this year's Chivalric Tourney does not look good to the masses."
"Since when have you decided to take the Witcher's side?"
"Kovir is our biggest importers of glass. The rebuilding of our city will be very difficult without that glass now that the northern kingdoms have been conquered by Nilfgaard. If King Tancred came here with Triss Merigold, this issue is very serious to them. I beg you to reconsider the issue, your grace."
The duchess thinks for a moment, looking back and forth between Damien, Triss and Tamcred, then she resigns herself, realizing the reasoning of his argument.
"Very well." The Duchess concedes.
"Now, can we speak, Monarch to Monarch?" He asks, crossing his arms in front of him and straightening his posture with a nod of the head.
"We may, and thus unveil all sugarcoatings." Annarietta declares, stepping forward, she thought for a brief moment and then spoke, "If you wish for the Witcher to be released, the sum of gold required to rebuild the city of Beauclair from the Vampire invasion the Witcher failed to prevent, will be paid from the Koviri treasury, that is all." The Duchess finishes with a folding of her hands as she awaits the King's reply.
King Tancred is momentarily taken aback, he has no idea of what happened in Toussaint, and he didn't know Vampire's had invaded the city…
"Very well," the King replies, unfolding his arms, "I believe that we can agree to your terms."
"Very good, Very good." The Duchess announces with a clap of her hands and a smile, "Damien De La Tour will escort you to the prison to free the Witcher."
"Thank you, your grace…" The King says with a bow of his head, "If it pleases you, Your Grace, I would prefer that my court sorceress accompany Ser De La Tour to the prison, and I stay here to discuss the funding of the rebuild." The king suggests, gesturing with a hand toward Triss, who immediately lights up at the idea of being the one to appear before and act as Geralt's savior.
"Very well," the duchess decides, looking past the King toward his royal advisor, then turns around to look at Damien.
"Damien, please escort the Sorceress to the prison, please make sure to come back alone afterwards… I do not wish to see the Witcher's face ever again."
"Yes, your grace."
§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
A few minutes later
Damien had taken her to the stables where two horses were awaiting them, and they went off on the way to the prison. Naturally, being a Sorceress, Triss picked his brain the whole way there.
"So, captain, did you and Geralt work together to solve the Beast or Beauclaire?" Triss asks conspicuously, hiding her real knowledge. She knew that they worked together during Geralt's time in Toussaint, and even though she knew Damien is not her friend, and is not Geralt's, she has to put on an act for the monarchs.
"We did, but I do not see how that matters now."
"What did The Witcher do to get thrown in prison?" She asks inquisitively.
"The sister of Duchess Anna Henrietta is now dead, and that is Geralt's doing." The captain explains, his eyes not moving from the path ahead of them.
They ride at a steady canter, four guardsmen accompanying them, 2 in front and 2 in back.
Triss looks at him with a blank expression. This is something she already knows about.
"You almost sound as if you're implying that Geralt murdered the Duchesses sister? I know that's not true." Triss responds, shaking her head in disappointment at the course of this conversation and the minimalistic intelligence of the guard captain who is obviously brain washed by the duchess.
"No, Geralt did not murder the Duchesses sister, but he allowed her to die."
"How did this transpire then?" She asks as they begin to pass by a fishing hut.
The captain becomes gloomy for a short duration, as if he is struggling with an internal conflict of answering the Sorceress or doing what he is told.
"I am sorry; that is the extent of the information I will give you. We approach the prison, so you shall have time to be debriefed by the Witcher himself shortly." The guard captain explains in a strained voice.
Can't wait… Triss thinks to herself as they approach the prison.
§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
I prayed that I wouldn't have to go through this again, that Geralt wouldn't have to go through this again… Triss thinks to herself regretfully as their horses trot up to the gates. That is where Triss and Damien dismount from their mounts. Triss turns to the guard captain, and he tells her how this is going to work.
"Follow me, I have to speak with the Witcher before you meet with him. I will show you where to wait."
"Lead the way…"
§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
Geralt walks through the prison behind the guard as instructed. He really hates this place.
Supposedly he is supposed to be sentenced by someone, and the guard is taking him there. As they walk he notices the dilapidated state of the prison, and he also notices a rack of swords that are out in plain view… A bad move, for a prison that is holding a Witcher.
He keeps thinking back to Regis, and how he must be feeling after Detlafff died.
Geralt allowed the killer to go free because he felt bad for the Vampire, and because he is Regis's friend. He once thought that he lost Regis, one of his best friends, and he could never make Regis feel that same pain… Even if it meant that Geralt ended up here, in prison.
Two weeks he has been in here, two weeks. He was starting to believe that his girlfriend didn't want to help him, or that she had forgotten about him. Two weeks and she hadn't used Hydromancy to see that he needed her help? The Sorceress has proved herself to be reliable in the past, and now she has abandoned him.
The guard brings him to a secluded balcony that has an outlook over the land of Toussaint, there, standing at the railing, is the Captain of the Guard, the same man that he had fought beside to solve the murders in Toussaint. The same person that helped him to do it by betraying the duchess and giving away the place that Annairetta hid her sister, and helped Geralt to find her and bring her to Tesham Mutna.
"Captain, The Witcher." The guard announces.
"Unbind him, and leave us."
The guard does as he is instructed and leaves them alone.
"Greetings, Witcher." Damien greets, glancing over his shoulder.
The Witcher flexes his shoulder as his hands are finally free.
"Your face… Doesn't look good… Though, it looked worse last time I saw you."
The guard captain reaches up and touches the scar that is on his face that he received when he was defending the city from the vampire attacks. A Fleder that killed half of his unit, and that Geralt slew, clawed him up good.
"Agh. I apply an arnica extract. I can hardly feel it anymore." The guard captain pauses for a long moment, and then begins again in a more serious tone, "But my scars pale in comparison to the fate Syanna met with. The fate that was your doing." He announces, turning around to face the Witcher.
The Witcher looks at him as if he is really tired of dealing with this.
"I trusted you." He says, talking about how he gave the Witcher the information he needed to find Syanna from the playroom, and free her, "And how did you repay me? Consider it, Witcher - why do you think the Duquessa has Syanna away to start with? Can you guess?" He lectures, slowly walking toward Geralt.
"I'm sorry," Geralt says in a sorrowful tone, "MIght not believe me, but… Couldn't have predicted that turn of events. Certainly never wanted that." The Withcher's voice is sincere, and apologetic. He truly does feel bad about the turn of events that befell upon Syanna.
"Enough…" Damien says, shaking his head, "We shall speak of it no more."
The Witcher looks at him with a straight face.
"I guess there has been a decision in my case."
Damien looks at him with surprise and outrage, and then yells.
"Truly? Is that all you care about?! Your own hide!?"
"I get kinda anxious when my life's on the line." He admits, crossing his arms.
"Your life was never threatened. The court considered various punishments, the death sentence was not among them." The Guard Captain confesses, raising a hand and lowering to emphasize.
"Wasn't in attendance, so I wouldn't know." He sarcastically remarks, pointing out that not being at his own court hearing is an outrage.
Damien clasps his hands together in front of him, and lectures Geralt.
"You are in Toussaint, where the rule of law holds. We do not allow lynchings here, and every case is analyzed in minutest detail."
Damien holds for a second, and then continues.
"It was a difficult case to decide. The facts are as follows: You were hired to kill the Beast. Not only did you fail in that endeavor, but you also caused the death of our duquessa's sister. Have I missed anything?!"
The Guard captain stops for just a moment, and then continues.
"I'll have you know that were it up to me, you would rot in our dungeon until your dying day." He says… A pretty grave declaration considering that Geralt is a Witcher, so that would be quite a long time.
"Glad you didn't have the deciding vote, then."
Damien shakes his head, and raises his hands.
"At any rate… I am not the best person to tell you what was decided in your matter. I'd say the woman who is Personal Advisor to the man who worked hardest to tip the scales in your favor should." He says, and wraps his hands behind his back, and walks past him.
"What are you talking about? What woman?"
He turns around and immediately blurts out- "Triss!?"
The woman immediately runs up and jumps into his arms, wrapping them around his neck as they kiss passionately. Their lips move against each other passionately, and he supports her weight by holding her thighs.
The Guard Captain just happens to turn around as he walks down the stairs, and he is flabbergasted. He gasps.
"By the gods you're… lovers!?"
Triss is infuriated at the interruption, and takes this opportunity to let her anger out at the whole situation.
"You have a duchess to report to, don't you? Be on your way, hop hop." She barks, shooing him off with her hand like you would a dog.
"Psst" He blows, and turns around, walking away.
"H-how?!" He asks her with astonishment.
"King Tancred traveled to Kovir immediately as soon as he found out you were in prison. He brought me with him. He negotiated your release, and you should thank him when you see him."
Geralt puts his girlfriend back down on the ground.
"I will. Thank you for coming, Triss."
"I would travel to the ends of the world for you, just like you did to save me. Come, Geralt, the King is waiting for us."
A/N-
So here it is, the first (Lame) chapter of my new WItcher book. I am sorry that it was so boring; it was really just politics, and monarchs speaking and all that. I promise that this will get much better, and I have so boundless ambitions for this story.
I know it is a surprise, but this story is probably going to be T rated. I don't know if I am going to do any lemons, or any of that stuff yet. This story may also be what I use to get through my creative writing class this upcoming year of High School (MY LAST ONE) and then I am off to college.
Please let me know what you all think of me, and what you guys think I should do in the future of this story.
I love you all so much, and take care everyone!
