A/N: A new JIBBS oneshot, for the foreseeable future all stories will be written on my phone because I've somehow got malware on my laptop :(. Hope you enjoy, Angels.

He's worried about her. It's been two hours since they rescued her from the airport where she was being held captive by Patrick Dempsey and she's not moved from her spot from Autopsy, the one place in NCIS she hates, nor has she spoken a word to him and she's scared. He knows a scared Jen when he sees one and Jen is scared, not that he's surprised by it, she's been through hell today. "Jen." He says quietly, his heart cracking when the redhead flinches ever so slightly. "Easy, Jen, it's just me." Jethro soothes softly. Jen looks at him, the movement in two hours, her green eyes dull. He puts his hand on the small of her back and leads her to the elevator. "Let's get you home." He says gently, pressing the button to the underground parking garage where his car is parked. He's decided to take her to his house. He doesn't want her to be alone, and he suspects that she doesn't want to be alone anymore than he wants her to be.

Jenny leans her head on the window of Jethro's NCIS car feeling awful. She's glad that Jethro is taking her home and that he wouldn't let her drive herself home even if she wasn't in shock. She can't wait to get out of this suit, burn it, get a scalding hot shower and crawl into her bed and sleep forever, or until Monday morning. She looks at her former partner out of the corner of her eye: he's driving slower than he usually does when he's driving, only then does she realize that he's missed the turn for her street and that he's heading to his house and not her own. "Jethro? Why exactly are you bringing me to your home and not mine?" She asks, her voice quiet, her silver haired former partner sighs deeply. "I don't want you to be alone after what you've been through today, and I doubt you want to be alone either." He answers, Jenny nods her head at his answer, not saying anything else. What else can she say when she's gotten the answer?

Jethro watches from the porch as she gets out of the car slowly, walking to the door, opening the unlocked front door, kicking off her heels that land in the living room and walking up the stairs to the bathroom like he knew she would. He follows her upstairs but heads into his room and grabs his black USMC T-shirt and a pair of his boxers before leaving them outside the bathroom door. "Jen," He says, knocking on the bathroom door. "got a t-shirt and pair of boxers outside the door for ya." He says over the running water and walks back downstairs to his basement where he waits for Jen to come down.

It's half an hour before he hears her bare feet pad down the basement steps wearing his shirt and boxers, her hair damp. She looks so small without her heels.

"Why did you bring me here?" She asks, softly and walking straight to the mason jar and downs it in one gulp. He takes the jar from her and brushes a strand of her long red hair from her green eyes. Her eyes are slowly getting the brightness back in them, second by second, they're slowly returning back to the eyes that he can't say 'no' to.

His lips capture hers in a soft kiss.

"Because it's what partners do, Jen, former or present." He tells her softly when they pull away and he carries her up to bed.

"It's what partners do." He whispers in the darkness as sleep claims him and the redhead that's wrapped in his arms.
