Just an idea got and since I finished watching Leverage recently, figured I'd try my hand at a crossover.

Thank you to Aragorn II Elessar for his help and suggestions with this.

For Leverage, this takes place after 'The Long Way Down Job' while for Smallville it's after

'Progeny'.

McRoy's Bar

Morning

Nate and Eliot sat across from Clark Kent and Chloe Sullivan, the latter having told them of the events that had brought them here: Lex Luthor, and his experimentation of the so called 'Meteor Freaks', including Chloe's mother.

"I'm sorry that you had to go through that Chloe," Nate said sympathetically, thinking of his own father.

While Jimmy Ford had never been much of a father, he couldn't imagine what it would be like to lose him the way Chloe had lost Moira.

"Thank you, but it's not just my mother. Lex is building up some kind of army of super powered freaks, for lack of a better word. If he manages to get his army up and running, nothing will be able to stop him," Chloe explained.

"I know Lex probably better than anyone; he'll never be satisfied with anything less than absolute power. He's hurt so many people in pursuit of just that, Chloe's mom wasn't the first and she won't be the last," Clark added.

"It never is with men like Luthor. But why come to us?" Eliot asked curiously.

"A friend of ours recommended we reach out to you, said you specialize in things like this," Chloe explained.

"Oliver Queen. Said you two went way back," Clark said with a glance at Eliot, who laughed.

"Yeah, we do. You should ask him about the time I rescued him off an island. But that's another time," Eliot said as he and Ante exchanged a look.

"What exactly do you two want from this?" Nate asked curiously.

"We want you to stop Lex. He's a psychopath with delusions of grandeur," Chloe said bluntly.

"We've tried to stop him and it never sticks. We're hoping you two might have better luck," Clark said and Nate and Eliot exchanged a glance.

Later, in the apartment above the bar, Nate, Eliot, Sophie and Parker sat down as Hardison brought them up to speed, bringing up a picture of Lex.

"Lex Luthor. Guy makes OJ look like Robin Hood. There have been rumors about LuthorCorp Black sites and unethical experiments for years but nothing can be proven. What we know for sure is LuthorCorp has been the highest paid military contractor since he took over. Wherever this guy seems to go, accusations of human experimentation and shady business seem to follow," Hardison presented.

"I've known guys like Luthor, worked for some. Luthor thinks of himself as a white knight, like he's the messiah who can save the world from itself. He's bought into the belief that he's the savior and hero of this story," Eliot explained.

"All right, so we have a military contractor who's experimenting with these so called 'meteor freaks' and making his own army because he believes he's going to save the world. Question is, how do we stop him?" Nate asked and the room was silent for a moment.

"He's a military contractor, right? So that's the key, we go in, pretending to be from the military," Sophie added.

"Yeah, you plant this somewhere and I can hack Luthor's mainframe, get the proof about his experiments," Hardison said as he pulled out a small device that looked like a ball. "It's a sniffer; it'll take all Luthor's files and transfer them to my hard drive."

"All right, looks like we got a plan. So, let's go steal some proof," Nate said.

Luthor Corp, a few days later

Afternoon

Sophie was led into Lex's office by his secretary, Eliot following her. Lex stood facing away from her before turning around.

"Kate Stewart?" Lex inquired.

"That's right," Sophie said with an American accent, eying Lex like she wasn't impressed. "Mr. Luthor."

"It's an honor to meet you. I've read your file Colonel; I'm impressed by your record. Not many women in the military have your reputation," Lex said and Sophie and Eliot had to keep a straight face at how easily he had bought Hardison's profile of 'Kate'.

"Thank you, Mr. Luthor, but I'm not here to talk about my past. I'm here to talk business," Sophie said firmly and Lex nodded his agreement.

"Of course. Would you and your bodyguard like any refreshments? I find discussing business over drinks usually helps us relax," Lex said.

"I don't drink on the job, Sir," Eliot said stiffly.

"Nor do I. Alcohol impairs judgement, which can be the difference between life and death on the battlefield," Sophie said bluntly and Lex nodded.

"Of course. Let's sit down, talk business," Lex said, gesturing to a chair he had in front of his desk.

Sophie down in the chair as Lex sat down at his desk. As the pair discussed business, Lex didn't notice Eliot subtly pull out the sniffer, activating it.

Outside the building in a van, Nate and Parker watched as Hardison received all the files off Lex's server.

"So what do we have Hardison?" Nate asked.

"Hold on Nate, first let's exclude any of the usual business dealings," Hardison said as he typed at his laptop. "Hmm, Project Ares."

"What's that? "Parker inquired.

"Only file in Luthor's database that's marked for his eyes only. Let's see what we got," Hardison said, pausing as he read it before paling. "Shit."

"Hardison, what is it?" Nate asked, he and Parker becoming alarmed by the look on Hardison's face.

"Project Ares is a project that's been sanctioned by the government to create super soldiers. Lex has been tricking wounded vets into volunteering, saying they'd helping others just like them when he's actually experimenting on them, turning them into some kind of powered cyborg," Hardison explained horrified.

In the office, Eliot tightened his free hand into a fist, every ounce of his willpower used to prevent himself from heading over to Lex right then and there and ripping him apart.

Sophie, for her part, played her character well, continuing to discuss business for with Lex even as she felt her disgust for this vile man grow.

"Looks like it's still in the prototype stage, Luthor still needs something before he can move it to the next stage," Hardison said as he looked at the files.

"Okay, the US government may have sanctioned Project Ares, but the last thing they would want is it getting out that they signed off on human experimentation and exploiting wounded soldiers," Nate said, his mind racing. "So we need to expose Luthor. Parker, I need you to make some calls."

Later that day, Lex was in his office when he got an alert on his computer. Frowning, Lex looked at the notice, realizing horrified that someone had hacked his personal files. Looking at the time stamp, he realized it had happened during his meeting with Kate Stewart.

Lex was then filled with rage, realizing he had been duped.

33.1 Facility

Later that afternoon

Parker was in the warehouse, looking at the countless bodies of the Project Ares subjects when she heard the click of a gun. Turning around, she saw Lex standing there, aiming a gun at her.

"So, you're who those two were working for. Who are you?" Lex demanded angrily as he stalked over to her.

"Someone who believes in doing the right thing," Parker said calmly. "You've been experimenting on these people."

"I've been improving them! We are facing a threat unlike anything that the world has ever seen before, we have to protect ourselves! Project Ares will help us do that! So tell me who you are, who you work for, or you'll get a bullet in the head!" Lex ranted and Parker was silent for a moment.

At that moment, several people burst into the room dressed in FBI uniforms, all of them wielding guns aimed at Lex.

"Hands up! On the ground Luthor, hands on your head!" one of them shouted at the stunned Lex.

"You don't understand, she-" Lex started, trying to explain.

"I said on the ground!" the FBI agent shouted.

Lex, realizing he had no choice, got on the ground, putting his hands up as one of the agents walked over, taking the gun from him and beginning to put handcuffs on him.

"Special Agent Hagen, are you all right?" another agent asked Parker as Lex looked at her in disbelief.

"Fine, as long as you got that," Parker said and the agent nodded.

"His confession corroborates everything his files say and that he was behind Project Ares. And I think we can add threatening a federal agent to his charges. McSweeten vouched for you, good to know he wasn't wrong," the agent said and Parker smiled.

"McSweeten's good people," Parker said simply as Lex was led away, in disbelief that it had all gone so wrong.

McRoy's bar

Next morning

"And in other news, Lex Luthor, CEO of LuthorCorp, was arrested on charges of torture, human experimentation, and fraud. Acting CEO of LuthorCorp, Lionel Luthor, refused to comment on his son's legal challenges."

In the bar, the Leverage Team, Chloe and Clark watched the news report before Chloe turned to Nate.

"Thank you, Mr. Ford. I know it won't bring my mom back, but at least now Lex can't hurt anyone ever again," Chloe said in relief.

"People like Lex Luthor think they're untouchable because they have all the power, and all the money, and they use it to make people like you and your mother disappear. My team and I provide…Leverage," Nate said with a slight smirk.

And that's that.

Based on whichever version of Oliver's rescue you go with for Smallville, it's very likely he and Eliot would have crossed paths and Eliot before Oliver became Green Arrow.

Hope you all enjoyed the con.

Until next time.
