Chapter 1 - The Meeting

In the woods by her temple, the priestess Kikyo walked to a small lake nearby. She hoped to get some fresh water so she could be ready to heal the others.
It had been about six months since she has been brought back from the dead by Urasue, with a body made of clay and bones. It was also strange that the man she had once loved, whom she had sealed to a tree, had fallen in love with her incarnation. While she wanted Inuyasha to himself, Kagome would make it impossible for her to steal him away. Not to mention the others with them were also strong in their own right.
The other thing that bothered her was Naraku. The demonic reincarnation of Onigumo wanted her dead, so she needed to be on her guard in case he came for her. Or for that matter, any of his incarnations.
As she arrived at the lake, she began to fill her jar with water. Concentrating, she used her spiritual senses to search for any demons nearby. Finding none, she gave a relieved sigh.
Then, she heard an eerie whistle behind her. Grabbing her bow, she notched an arrow and turned to face the stranger.
The figure appeared to be a wolf demon of sorts, though he reminded her more of Royakan than most wolf demons did. He had white fur, red eyes and wore a simple black cloak on his body.
"Well, if it isn't the resurrected priestess herself," the wolf said. He chuckled and added, "In the flesh."
She didn't lower her bow, so the wolf continued. "There's the famous clothes, the bow, and of course, the smell of fresh graveyard soil. My compliments to your fine tastes of style."
"Who are you and what do you want?" Kikyo asked.
The demon smiled. "I have come to put you back where you belong, Kikyo. In the ground."
Kikyo glared at the demon, and said to him, "I have already told many people, demon. I still yearn for this world. I will not let you kill me!"
The wolf smiled. "No matter who they are, no one should escape death." He then pulled out a pair of sickles from his side and spun them together. "You are no exception, Kikyo."
Kikyo channeled some spiritual energy through the bow, and shot a Sacred Arrow at the demon. Dodging it, the wolf charged at Kikyo. She shot a second arrow at him, but, much to her surprise, the demon caught it and then snapped it with his fingers before glaring at the young woman.
"How did you-" Kikyo asked, but the demon quickly advanced forward and attacked. She used her bow to block, but the wolf's own power was enough to cut the bow in half. She fell back, and quickly used her spiritual power to push the wolf back. However, the demon advanced forward and slashed downward, dealing her a serious blow to her side.
She quickly backed away, and then felt the hairs on her body rise. She felt a cold chill go up her back. She felt something that she never felt before - fear. As he advanced towards her, he smelled the air and smiled sadistically. "I just love the smell of fear!" he exclaimed, dragging his sickles across the ground.
Kikyo backed away, and began seeing flashbacks of her two lives She then saw flashes of her childhood, her time with Inuyasha, taking care of Onigumo, and the day she died. She also saw her being brought back by Urasue, her failed attempts to kill Inuyasha, her handing the Sacred Jewel to Naraku. She saw all of it flash through her eyes.
For the first time in her life as a priestess, she was suffering from a panic attack.
The wolf smiled and asked, "What's the matter? Lives flashing before your eyes?"
Suddenly, the Soul Collectors appeared and began attacking the wolf. They wrapped themselves around Kikyo, and quickly fled the area with her.
As she fled, she heard the wolf call out, "Go on! Run for it! Makes it more fun for me!"
That was the last thing she remembered before she blacked out.
In Kaede's village, Inuyasha held a spinning top and faced the fox demon, Shippo. "Ready?"
"Ready!"
"LET'S GO- AAAAHHH!"
Immediately, Shippo turned his spinning top into a larger spinning top and threw it at Inuyasha's. Not only did it successfully knock down the smaller one, it also caught onto Inuyasha and began spinning him around.
Angered, Inuyasha quickly struck Shippo in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. As Kagome approached them, she saw this and quickly yelled, "SIT!"
Inuyasha flet the Beads of Subjugation pull on his neck, and he was slammed into the ground, cratering it. As Inuyasha looked up, he yelled, "What was that for, Kagome?!"
"Don't go beating Shippo like that!" Kagome exclaimed, kneeling down and placing bandages on the poor child's head.
Inuyasha looked at Kagome, and sighed. Ever since the day they met, he had been facing trials and tribulations that he never thought he'd face since his time with Kikyo. Love triangles, inheritance, vengeance - these were now everyday things for Inuyasha.
Thinking of Kikyo, he wondered how she was doing. It had been a while since the two had encountered each other. He hoped she was doing -
Then he smelled something in the air. Standing up, he looked around and saw something in the air. "Kagome look!" he exclaimed.
"Huh?" Kagome said. She looked up and saw the Soul Collectors carrying Kikyo. They flew down to the ground and dropped her, revealing a large cut on her side. As they looked at her, Kikyo whispered, "Save me. Please."
"Kikyo," Inuyasha said, then growled as he realized what it meant. "Someone tried to kill you! Who?!"
"White…Wolf," She managed, then fell to the ground, unconscious.
