At a rented room in the Pokemon Center of Azalea Town. Pipi was in a set of purple pajamas and was ready to watch something with her Poipole, Dustox, Mareanie, Trubbish and Golbat as Yang was in a velvet night gown, cradling six balls and resting on a separate bed. Pipi pressed a few buttons on the channel and watched the Logo for Pokestar Studio's air. Yang sensed the excitement and asked. "You know one of the actors?"
Pipi watched a chase scene between two planes, the leading blue plane was driven by a blown haired pilot in red aviator clothes had a large bag of pokeballs that Pipi was familiar with. "Rachael is playing as the villain of this movie. An aviator and a ruthless bandit!"
Following the plane was a red plane driven by an orange haired pilot in a green aviator attire, she flew in a yellow plane. Rachael turned her head towards a mirror and saw who was pursuing her. "...So the Windy Wendy is trying to stop me again!" She took out a walkie talky and ordered. "Arbitro, take care of her!" Wendy saw something in her own mirror and from the sky above, a Salamence came, flying towards the wing of her plain and spinning in a barrel roll, the Salamence roared at his prey and Wendy yipped. "Eek, she is bringing out her big guns." She opened a dusk ball and let out a Murkrow that perched on a wing. "Mischief, keep this Salamence away from us while I try to catch up with the Aerial Diva."
The Murkrow looked at the Salamence and smirked like a prankster. He took the blunt and performed a dance before flapping feathers at the Salamence's face. The Salamence roared at a device and Rachael heard it blare out, she focused on the mirror and saw what was happening. "That cunning Murkrow. Arbitro, use fire fang! I want this to sting those two!" The Salamence growled and ignited his fangs as Wendy ordered. "Substitute and keep that Salamence from landing a meaningful attack."
Her plane was getting closer and the Murkrow readied his wings, the Salamence bit a substitute and was more annoyed. He danced and fooled the Murkrow in attempting a sucker punch. He bit down again with firey fangs and had more feathers blown in his face. Breaking the substitute as Rachael gave a sharp glare at the pilot and flashed a bracelet. She crossed her arms, crouched and aimed her fist to the sky. "They are meat! Arbitro, take this and show them why we control the skies!"
Radiant light flowed out of the bracelet and into the Salamence that gave the Murkrow a glare for violence. He backed away from the plane and seemingly retreated to the sky, the Murkrow wondered what that was about as Wendy looked at the mirror. "...There was no way he would give up like that. Murkrow... be ready for-" The sky shined... and the Murkrow saw the Salamence coming down in super sonic speed. He protected himself, the barrier took the blunt yet the plane was still forced to come down. The Murkrow nearly lost his grip and was dazed as the Salamence saw something infront of his trainers plane, he watched Rachael laughing and taunting.
"ROAR!"
Rachael felt the roar once more and focused. "Just use fire fang again and we will loose those-" She was interrupted by the sight of a mighty storm cloud and maneuvered to the right to avoid it the Salamence pushed Wendy's plane to the left and followed his trainer, leaving the pursuers to go left, less they get swallowed in the storm. Wendy felt confused and her Murkrow looked bamboozled."
At the end of the film, Pipi and her pokemon were taken aback. The Poipole whistled as the Golbat listened to fast heart beats, even her own was pulsing. Yang was impressed by the as Pipi continued her answer. "Rachael is one of my friends. We hanged out couple times and it took a lot for her to get this far as a movie star."
The psychic agreed as her six balls shook in various ways. "She isn't the only friend of yours who made a name for herself. They... have an influence on you." The ninja agreed and held the Poipole in her arms as she laid on the bed and closed her eyes, leaving the Mareanie to find a drawer to sleep in, the Dustox to perch by the window, the Golbat to cling her feet on the top bunk and sleep upside down and the Trubbish to roll to the floor and sleep. "Rachael, Pamela... and Tammy. They are some of my dearest friends." She hummed and asked. "If we are lucky we might find one more girl that lives at Goldenrod, her name is Copper and she is a pretty casual girl. Pamela also lives at Olivine City."
Yang felt the relaxed thoughts and closed her eyes, she laid down and cradled the poke balls in her arms. "She is also a daughter of a gym leader and... has something of a discovery... what of the last one?" Pipi felt her mind drifting and blushed. "Tammy is from the Alola Region and she has a job at Hoenn as a Frontier Brain... and is also a top Coordinator in Hoenn... her whole gimmick as a Brain is pokemon contests."
Yang had a vision of a blue eyed, brown haired girl in a stylish green dress that has a Pikachu that was dressed as a Belle and an Eevee that was dressed as a secret agent. Her mind drifted. "And now its your turn to come out here. They would be impressed." Pipi felt that Yang fell asleep and closed her eyes as well as the t.v turned off. "...I hope you are right."
Out by a forest at night.
A blue mouthed Haunter was plotting something as he floated to a tree near a grand city, he seen much and was worried about something. A voice from nearby caught him off guard. "Hey Yo-kai! How's ya game going!" The Haunter shrieked and turned around to find a Mismagius smiling in the most friendly manner he had seen, he looked relieved and snickered like a child would towards his mother. "Hi Miss Sōsaresu. Pipi looked to be having fun getting ready for her next big trip down the road." His mischievous smile gave way and the Mismagius giggled. "So ya going to mess around at Ilex? She is going to get bored if there isn't anything getting in her way."
The Haunter had his left hand under his chin in thought. "I could, but that isn't the most important thing. She is getting the idea that she might want to actually try to catch that last pokemon for her journey... that isn't me." He looked at the Mismagius in thought. "A Nidorina... those guys north of the city don't... have a reason to do that and she went out of the way to have that ball I heard about made." The Mismagius gasped. "A moon ball? I heard of that while I was... playing around as Shijo. It works better at capturing pokemon that evolve from a moon stone." She hummed and asked. "...Maybe we can find someone who can help out with the Game? Your friend needs to think that you are a big shot sooner or later and connections are important."
The Haunter agreed to that his smile lightened to something more kind. "That could work best. Hey Mom, could you help me talk to those Nidorans? I don't think they would listen to a ghost like me."
The Mismagius blushed and her eyes sparkled on the name she was given, she focused back to a more serious tone. "I will, but you need to be the one who does the talking." The Haunter lead the way as the Mismagius asked. "You know, ever since that Gaishin stunt, you really started to like that idea of making things seem more... real. What made you keep it up?"
The Haunter realized why and blushed, he stuttered embarrassingly. "It's... its because of a habit one of that kid's friends makes. A lot!" He wondered. "I never got a picture of who that girl was referring to as Mom... but is a sweet name to call someone who takes you in." The Mismagius wondered as well and had a plan of her own. "Well we aren't going to have that Pipi tell us more, since she doesn't know Tammy's folks that well. So we should just stick to digging around when we can."
During the next day.
Pipi held onto a moon ball, it had been a whole dull day of waiting by the Slowpoke well as a tourist distraction. Yang and her Slowking nearly sang a tune and met at a gate leading into Illex Forest, the psychic girl gave off an aura of uneasiness as the ninja lead the way into a forest that's trees blocked the sky, giving off a feeling of never ending night. Yang felt the memories Pipi was having and the younger girl lead the way. "I been in this forest before many times when I was training with Mother."
She found a weak shrubbery and took out a small dagger, she shouted. "PIPI USES CUT!" SLASH! The shrub fell down and Yang felt her Slowking's suggestion to focus on the road, the psychic asked. "You enjoyed every moment you came here and remember every corner?"
Pipi nodded and looked at the shrine ahead, stopping for a moment to give respects. "This is a place of absolute darkness and the perfect playground for a ninja. This shrine is also spoken about in myths, as the place a pokemon called Celebi appears at." Yang flustered at the wonder. "Such a beautiful place with nothing but beautiful memories. That's... why I liked coming her to meditate... if things happened a bit differently, I would have came back here to do just that."
Pipi felt hint of disappointment in her friends voice and lead the way to a pond. "But... that's what you did at Slowpoke Well already... at least you came back here... even if it is for traveling." Yang shrugged and had a stoic smile that caused the Slowking to smile wider. "I liked Slowpokes, their minds are free from the burdens of the world and they keep going for their goals." She took a deep breath to repress an emotion and she confessed. "They're cute." The group reached the gate at the other side of the forest and went across the door... they found themselves... in an identical forest. Pipi looked dumbfounded as Slowking sensed what happened, he grumbled and Yang sensed a subconscious joy nearby. "...Someone is playing a trick on us." The ninja gasped and let out her Dustox, who's antenna sensed, something, she asked. "This... can't be Yo-kai's doing... could it?"
Yang envisioned her words effects and reached for a tree, it felt very real. "A hypnotist wouldn't be able to do something like this. This is all real... are you aware of a pokemon that lives directly north of this forest... Abra?" Pipi gasped. "An Abra?! Why?"
Yang lead the way towards the same shrubbery and Pipi cut it down. "Because someone or something may have given him the idea for some mischief. Who could possibly gain from that?" The girl growled and lead towards the same pond, leading to the road nearby that lead around the pond and to the gate out. She looked around to find that similar Abra sleeping away, it was giving off a glow as Yang caught up. Pipi had a poke ball ready for capture. "This will stop him while we get out of here! Go Poke ball!"
The ball whistled and the Abra floated to the right, the Yang sensed a psychic presence all around and found not one, not two, but three more Abras giving off a psychic glow. One looking irritated, one floating up and down out of control and one being perfectly still.
PEW!
The four travelers found themselves back at the entrance of the woods, they heard the sound of a flute playing, like that of a taunting melody. Pipi and Yang puffed up their cheeks, the psychic was sensing what was going on and felt thoughts of mischief as the Slowking mentioned something. A rock flung to the distance as Yang looked most annoyed. "So that's their game!" Pipi blinked and gasped. "Those Abras are working with Yo-kai?!" The psychic shook her head. "Not Abras, Abra... Pipi what does your pokedex say about particular pokemon here or nearby that have psychic powers?" The Ninja looked at it as they retraced their steps again, the Dex showed the image of a Psyduck and a Spoink being most prominent. "Are these two pokemon a part of this?!" She growled and slashed the same shrub once more as the Dustox gasped and asked about the fourth Abra.
Yang answered the Dustox without hesitation. "Abras are solitary pokemon, they wouldn't band together like that. Pipi, are you SURE those are the only other two pokemon? Psyduck has faint power due to being just a pure water type with psychic abilities and there is no way that fourth one was a Drowzee." Pipi tried to look and the habitat marker in the northern route showed of a particular pokemon, a pink blob known as Ditto. "...Does a Ditto copy everything from the pokemon they see?"
Yang's eyes glowed and she took out a great ball to let out a Mr. Mime. "To the letter... but would a Ditto even remember something this specific?" The Mr. Mime gasped and mimicked something involving glasses, he put them on and followed down the path in a super masculine way. Pipi saw a witch like woman blowing an ocarina, her purple hair gave way to what she really is, she stopped and sang a taunt in an identical tune. "You found out, you found out, but can you stop the two in time?"
The girl let out a Golbat with her plan and had a great ball ready, she tossed and the woman floated to the right. She clapped and cheered, disturbing Yang as she identified who was there. "That right there, that right there is what you need to do to escape this maze!" She flew into a tree in laughter and Yang felt what the idea is. "We find which one is actually the Abra... and Ditto, then we use taunt and hypnosis to stop them! I doubt that Mismagius's taunts are what is causing the other two to look the way they are."
Pipi agreed and followed the Mr. Mime, to their frustration, the usual path around the pond was blocked off by a Snorlax. The Ninja tried to push through and felt the thick, blubbery hide, she screamed out. "HOW DID A SNORLAX GET HERE?!"
Yang reached to her and read the memories. "He was traveling and was told that this would be a good place to nap!" The Slowking was ready for the order and formed a surf wave, the Mr. Mime rolled his eyes and stepped on a reflective barrier, walking over an imaginary bridge as Yang got on the Slowking. Pipi took a deep breath and with her Dustox on her back, she made a leap across the pound, Kumo flapped her wings to give a strong gust to distant the jump and Dasuti spit out a strong shot at the ground, giving Pipi something to pull and secure a landing. With them across, they reach to the gate to find the four Abras circling around them, giving off a glow, the Mr. Mime taunted the Abra floating at a calm pattern as the Golbat stared at the still Abra and flew in a hypnotic pattern. The irritated Abra growled and the still Abra fell asleep, causing the Golbat to synchronize and fall asleep as well. Pipi called the Golbat back and felt her new goal in mind as she heard clapping, the sporadic Abra was revealed to be a Spoink as the aching Abra was reveled to be a Psyduck.
In front of the gate was a blue mouth Haunter clapping in joy and saying something that nearly caused the Dustox, Slowking and Mr. Mime to laugh about. Pipi and Yang saw the ghost pokemon clearly, the ninja readied a poke ball and hurled it. "I'M GOING TO CATCH YOU YO-KAI! THIS ENDS NOW!"
The Haunter gasped and flew away as the girl hurled the ball, dodging it, he looked at Yang and cringed as he realized WHO was accompanying the ninja. Flying out into the unknown, Yang watched the annoyed Abra float to a forming Ditto, the psi calmed down and teleported himself and his friend away. The psychic guessed what happened. "Yo-kai thought what he was suggesting into your mind was someone else, trying to congratulate us. It might have been more convincing if he just stuck to using an illusion but I guess he found hypnotism to be the more... amusing option."
The Slowking wipped a tear as the Mr. Mime felt like he saw a good joke. Dasuti suggested that Pipi calmed down, the ninja growled and pouted. "And the joke ended up being on him once we figured out who was the master mind and who we wanted to see."
Yang nearly broke into a smile and nodded. "Thus the suggestion became our own! I doubt he is going to try that again, especially now that he knows of me." Pipi hoped so and realized how Yo-kai was developing his plans. "But he convinced six pokemon to go along with this, he really is trying to make this into a game." She lead the way out and through the gate, made it to a route by the sea, leading towards a grand city. Down the road, a black haired girl that was wearing bright pink clothes, was chasing down an energetic pink bear like creature. "Dang it Muscle don't go-" Pipi recognized the bear as a Stufful and ordered her Dustox. "Dasuti string shot!" The Dustox coughed a thick web and wrapped the Stufful to where it was stopped in its tracks. The girl caught up, was breathing heavily and revealed her brown eyes, she recognized the aspiring ninja and coughed. "Hack! H...Howdy Pipi, you're finally a tr...trainer?"
Pipi smiled at the familiar friend that she wished to introduce Yang to. "Yeah Copper! I also gotten two badges already!" She showed the case and tempted the near breathless Copper to show off her own. The Zephyr and Hive Badge made a good compare and contrasted a case with a yellow square like badge and a Zephyr Badge. "*Huff!* Your Pa was tough with his birds. But Barūn and Panths showed him, you going to try to beat Ma?"
Pipi winked. "I'm going to that once we get to the city and rest up." She introduced the two girls. "Cooper, this is a friend I made while traveling. Yang!" The psychic waved and sensed the vibrant energy from the city girl. "Charmed." The ninja introduced Yang to Cooper. "Yang, this is Cooper, a friend of mine that lives in Goldenrod." She blinked and asked Cooper. "Hey... are you really traveling around with Normal Types?" The city girl answered with pride. "You dang right I am! My Pa said that might be trouble when I get to Cianwood, but when in doubt, always count on the Puff!"
She took out a poke ball with a heart shaped sticker and a poke ball with coin marks, letting out a Jigglypuff and a Meowth. The Jigglypuff saw the two psychic types and puffed herself annoyed as the Meowth meowed hello to them. The Stufful calmed down and was on the verge of crying, the Meowth took a deep breath and used a single claw to cut the silk loose. Copper petted the Stufful and felt a change of plans was in order. "Ya need me to show you around the city? I can go for Bugsy another time."
Pipi stepped out of the way and answered. "Not really, but there is a Snorlax sleeping in the forest, blocking the usual path." Copper growled and turned around. "Well shoot! Well come on... we can talk on the way." Yang looked embarrassed and called her two pokemon back. "There is a few things we should mention. Then... I don't know... try not to find it odd that we all specialize in a particular type."
Copper gasped and snickered. "So you are a psychic type specialist! Hey what was your starter? Barūn is mine!" Pipi looked into a poke ball and answered. "Kumo... Yang...which one was yours?" The psychic enjoyed her memories and looked at her Slowking's ball. "...A Slowpoke my mother sent to me. A kind man that understands pokemon helped me evolve him into the Slowking you see today." Copper found it weird and heart warming at the same time as she held her Jigglypuff and Meowth's hands in affection. "Barūn was a pokemon Pa's friend hatched up. She takes battling seriously because no one takes normal types seriously." Copper looked closer at Yang and asked. "Is your Ma from Saf-"
In the northern forest of Goldenrod.
An annoyed Nidoran female listened to a story the blue mouth Haunter had to give. "And that's probably why she figured it out!" The Nidoran wailed in a hustling temper. "Grr, this is ridiculous! Why are you asking us to help you out with that?" The Haunter blinked and answered bluntly. "Because it was fun, Abra and Ditto thought it would have been." A Mismagius holding ten blue candies floated to them, she whistled happily. "And it was until those girls found out." The Nidoran female puffed her cheeks up and went for the candies. "Know that I'm only going to meet this girl on two conditions, I'm doing this my waste and I'll only waist my time if she is alone! I don't like having a psychic type show up out of nowhere to make it easy." She ate a candy and felt a boost as the Haunter felt the plan was coming together. "I got something to figure out once Pipi and her friend make it to Ecrutek." He asked the Mismagius. "Hey Mom... do you know how I can evolve? I don't see any wild Gengars around here."
The Mismagius hesitated as the Nidoran ate another candy and glowed, growing into a larger form. "I heard they are pretty rare and they only evolved when exposed to some energy. I heard those machines them humans use for trading pokemon work in a pinch, but you got to be captured." The Haunter snapped his fingers. "Shoot! I want to show to her that if she is going to start getting better at the game, so will I." The Nidorina kept eating the eight remaining candies as the Mismagius had a warning for Yo-kai. "Dear, sometimes if you try too hard to achieve yourself, you would just get hurt... or do something pretty dumb. This is a game, but if your not careful, it will stop being one."
That was the worse part the Haunter feared as the Nidorina roared ferociously. "But then it stops being fun." He looked at the Nidorina that is walking into a bush, like she was ready to find someone, he took his left hand and searched the confides of his body, pulling out a picture of Pipi and showing it to the Nidorina. "This is the girl you are suppose to meet and I don't think she will just be walking on the road." The poison pin looked annoyed and asked. "What else does she do?"
In a well kept apartment in Goldenrod City.
A black haired man in a red jacket, black pants and a yellow stripped hat was greeting Pipi and Yang, he smiled and asked Copper. "I reckoned that would happen one day. What changed your mind about leaving town?" The daughter shrugged and sat on a flat mat. "I don't want to catch a Snorlax, Pa. Panth is already a normal type that stays as just that and I can go for something more different."
She looked at the Jigglypuff, Meowth and Stufful resting together as Pipi thanked the man. "Thank you for letting us come over Mr. Ethan and... sorry for wanting to battle your wife!" Ethan smiled without any intent on harm. "Eh...sorry for making tomorrow happen." Yang sensed the thought and gasped. "Whitney's reputation were not tall tales?" Copper shook her head and wanted to get something to drink. "Nope, the closest thing Ma had to going easy on me was just using a Miltank that knew bide instead of stomp, attract and roll out. She was my first gym."
Pipi shivered at the thought. "And she will know another challenger is coming for her soon." Ethan counted. "She... is already dealing with the sixth one today. If you're early you could be the first and not have to wait in line. It's... rare for someone to beat her on their first try." He joked in a laugh. "But you and your friend are welcome here, in case this takes longer than you expected."
Copper joked back. "It took Pa three whole days to beat Ma! There is another good thing for being stuck in ol Goldenrod." Yang answered without even a guess. "The Magnet train connects directly to Saffron City. So I can try to get a ticket for later, if I'm ready."
That Ethan was scared about. "I... didn't know you were Sabrina's kid till Copper told me you told her. That explains the psychic types and how you are quick to figuring out what we're thinking. You think she knows you are here?" Yang nodded and felt a chill. "The moment I set foot here and got excited, she is expecting me and there was a reason I had to be taken to Unova. She might go out of control." Pipi wasn't too amused and corrected her friend. "The both of you would go out of control." Ethan imagined what would happened and cringed in horror. "You would turn the world upside down over an accident. That sounds like its just as much on her as it does for you."
Yang agreed and looked to have a couple tears in her eyes. "And we have no idea how to control that... that's why she isn't coming for me the first chance she has and why I'm... content with staying in Johto. But this trip isn't about me, Pipi... do you have any plan for Whitney? I doubt her Miltank would be the only pokemon to fear." Pipi looked at her balls and tried to piece together the puzzle. "I...I have no idea, normal types go with many others... so she might try that while I focus on keeping that Miltank from... hurting. Whitney normally has a Miltank with roll out, attract and stomp? That is her big strategy? To keep my pokemon from attacking?"
Ethan dared not say anything as the door knob turned. Pipi smiled at one problem solved. "Kumo and Sutikki shouldn't worry about attract... so maybe I can focus on keeping... Miltank from attacking. Once she rolls out, she is only bound to that move and I can work with that." Click!
The door opened and an attractive, pink haired woman that was sweating from a long day of work entered. Her white shirt, blue short jeans and pink eyes gave way to who she is, she looked astonished by the girls. "Wha?!" A Miltank followed her, looking like she was about to fall over. Ethan apologized and helped his tired wife to a mat. "Speak of the devil. Sorry about the visitors, they are friends of Copper." Whitney tried to speak as Copper came back with some water, the daughter gave her mother a bottle and giggled. "We were kind of talking about you." Whitney chugged the water and felt her throat clearing as she guessed by looking at Pipi. "You're here for my badge?" She smiled wide. "This means you beaten your father and Bugsy? Congratulations!"
The ninja felt intimidated as Copper sighed. "Yep, I'm not out of town just yet because of a Snorlax in the forest." She was hesitate to say anymore as Pipi had the courage to ask. "I... heard you were busy battling trainers at the gym... six of them..." Whitney grumbled annoyingly. "It's always those same rumors! Yes, six kids did try to battle me and two of them were from yesterday, at least one of them managed to... beat me." She is hating herself over a habit she had. "And I still cried about that. This has to be a complete nightmare." Ethan agreed and patted Whitney on the back. "It's been the same thing over and over again?"
Whitney nodded and focused on Pipi. "I got to do it, as a Gym Leader, I can't just hand over badges. They got to earn them. No hard feelings if I give you a hard time tomorrow? Nearly everyone does." The ninja felt her confidence return and answered. "I know how that is like. Mother and Father are gym leaders as well... do... you know why Copper decided to go on a journey with just normal types?" Whitney tried to answer without much consideration as Copper stood up proud and answered for her. "I want to beat every Gym Leader in this region so Ma can finally let me be Goldenrod's New Gym Leader! I'll show y'all that I know my normal types!" Whitney and Ethan heard the proud girl, the man tried to calm his daughter down. "We do know that you know, but what you did today kind of scared us." Copper argued back. "Muscle was a one time thing and Indigo told me enough about Stufful and Bewear! I know not to hug a Stufful unless they want to and to watch out for Bewears strength!"
Ethan fliinched in concern. "It isn't that, it's that someone at the Game Corner thought it was a good idea to give those away as a prize! Those pokemon are not teddybears!"
Whitney agreed with both her husband and daughter. "It is pretty crummy that they give them away without thinking of the danger. But Copper seemed to have had Muscle under control as long as he didn't get too excited."
Yang sighed. "That was the problem when we saw it, Copper, is there any other pokemon you are wanting?" Copper answered with her hands at her hips. "Not close to here, but I caught myself a pretty feisty Spearow just the other day and maybe on my travels I'll catch a Girafarig!" Yang was impressed and relaxed. "You indeed know those kinds of pokemon."
Pipi agreed and wished to keep quiet about her pokemon. "You all know the type I specialize in, but I know what they can become. Sometime later I will go look for a Nidoran female. They and the males are interesting." Whitney knew why and is respecting a crafty trainer. "Nothing wrong with that." She looked at the beast and asked. "Do... you want us to help you contact someone who might know more about your Poipole, I heard that you have one?" Pipi nodded and Ethan knew what that meant. "...I think I know who to call in regards to that."
