On a shack in the outskirts of a tropical island, a busy blonde, green eyed woman, who's hair started as a kalosian braid and dangled flowing hair towards her waist, finished a video call with an elderly professor about particular moves. The younger woman was wearing sea blue dress and a pink skirt that was underneath a white lab coat as she finished listening. "The Dynamax moves sound familiar to Z Moves, Professor Magnolia. Hmm I'll send you what is known about particular Z moves very shortly."

Magnolia adjusted her glasses and thanked the busy professor. "We can learn much about the comparisons between the Dynamax phenomenon and the Z Power from Alola, thank you Professor Lillie." Lillie blushed and appreciated it. "This is just another mystery of the world!" Beep! "Medic!" Lillie turned around to find two blonde babies with grey eyes, playing with an Audino and a Vaporeon by two large aquatic tanks. A baby girl in a set of pink clothes, was playing with the Audino's fur as a near identical boy in blue was reaching for a Vaporeons tail. The professor picked the two babies up and apologized to them. "I'm sorry for leaving you to a baby sitter, but this call was important."

She kissed the giggling girl on the forehead. "Daphne!" Smooch! Then kissed the reaching boy on the forehead. "Leon!" She sat on a couch that had a Snubbull and Rockruff resting as she contemplated a long day. Leon looked on at the Vaporeon and called to her. "L...Lola!" The Vaporeon listened and joined on the couch, giving an affectionate lick to Leon's face and amusing Lillie. "That's right, that's her name. Ever since you learned to speak, you two been talking non stop!"

Daphne smiled at Lillie proudly and shouted. "Mommy!" Leon looked relaxed and agreed with his sister as he looked up at his mother. "Mommy!" Lillie blushed as a Pokedex possessed by a Rotom floated to her with news. "BZZT! Your husband should be done with that emergency work he had to do soon and will be back once he defends his title from Gladion, as usual! BZZT!" The Professor felt relieved and whistled. "Elio should have another fine story to tell." Daphne recognized the name and asked. "Daddy... come... home... with... friend?!"

Leon looked worried. "When... Daddy... come?" Lillie had no idea as yet another call came. She went to the video screen and was assisted by a Gardevoir as her hands were full. "Thank you Maiden."

The video screen shined to life and she saw the image of Ethan and Whitney, looking like it was late over in Johto. Lillie wished she could give the Alola greeting and settled for the next best thing. "Alola! How can I help you today?"

Ethan let a purple haired girl with blue eyes take over the screen, Pipi greeted her. "Alola Professor Lillie, we called because we had a question... I had a question." She showed Sutikki and asked. "Do you know the movie Sutikki has to learn before he can evolve? I heard that is how he can evolve into a Naganadel." Lillie was eager to help as the Poipole gave a squeaky please. "I do, Poipole is a special pokemon that can only evolve from learning a move and this move is a bit special, dragon pulse!" Pipi had it noted as Lillie continued. "It is not an easy move for a Poipole to learn. Deep with in that move can be learned, but it requires a weeks worth of practice at best and from someone who knows the technique of learning the move by heart." Ethan listened and asked. "So... it isn't as easy as having any old tutor teach it?"

Lillie shook her head in memories. "No... when my husband was trying to teach Crylate... his own Poipole at the time, that move, it required the teaching of various dragon type pokemon and even Kalden... who is technically a dragon by his own choice, how to properly learn and harness the power of the dragon type." She was worried of one detail. "This is not just dragon type pokemon we are dealing with, Sutikki is an Ultra Beast, those pokemon are incredibly powerful and it takes much for a trainer to tame one if they can even do that."

Pipi puffed her cheeks up in disappointment as Ethan continued the conversation. "So right now... don't worry about learning dragon pulse? Least not until Pipi gets stronger as a trainer?" Whitney agreed and winked to Pipi. "I think I know the one place in Johto where she and Sutikki can work on that, if she can make it to Blackthorn City, then that won't be an issue."

Lillie agreed and understood. "Blackthorn City is dedicated to dragon type pokemon and if my brother was correct, it is the final gym most trainers in Johto go to anyways." Pipi sighed and came to terms with that. "Then we still have much to learn... thank you Professor." Lillie appreciated it as Daphne and Leon tapped the screen to where the Poipole was at, Sutikki tapped back where they were and said hello, Leon spoke with a smile. "P...Poi...Poipole!" Daphne clapped and nodded. "Su...Sutikki!" Lillie was amazed by what her children were learning and asked Pipi. "If... you would like to connect your Pokedex, we could share the image of Naganadel." The Ninja had a cable ready and did just that. "That would be appreciated."

In a few moments, the ninja gave a thumbs up and the Rotom Dex placed its hand like appendage on a flat surface, causing the distant pokedex to shine with an image. Pipi saw an impressive image as a black haired girl with brown eyes wanted to see something and her eyes glistened at the babies. With that done, Lillie said hello to the girl. "Alola Copper, is there any information you need as well?" The girl shook her head. "No, but I wish I could hold one of those two. Hard to really believe it until ya see them!" Daphne and Leon wondered what she meant as Lillie hated to disappoint. "It has been one busy year and more is to come. If you started as a trainer as well, I wish you the best of luck."

Copper appreciated it and nodded. "Maybe one day I can show what I'm trying to do here. Thank you for helping Pipi Professor." Lillie didn't find a problem as the girl excused herself and Ethan explained what happened. "Copper is specializing in normal type pokemon for her Gym Challenge, they are a pretty wide variety." Lillie agreed and thought of something. "That sounds like an interesting challenge. Thank you for your time."

The adults appreciated it and gave their goodbyes, they disconnected and left the babies disappointed in how they are no longer seeing the active Poipole, Lillie whispered to them with joy and returned to a couch. "You two are fast learners, Sutikki was a pokemon Pipi would have never captured if it wasn't for your big sister and your uncles help. Do... you want to play the naming game again?" The babies said yes and enjoyed their time with their mother.

In Goldenrod City during the morning.

Yang, Copper and Ethan were on the rafters of the Goldenrod Gym and watched Pipi wander a platform like maze. The psychic tensed up in anticipation. "Every journey has at least that one major obstacle we had to overcome." Ethan agreed and guessed. "You had a horrible time dealing with Burgh, just because of your specialty and I think he expected you to have a Sigilyph." Yang nodded as Copper watched a Trubbish make short work of an Stufful, she cringed and asked. "Even if Pipi doesn't have too much trouble with Ma... I think there would be one Gym Leader around here that will run her up a wall. Maybe two."

Ethan felt it was understandable as Pipi moved on to another woman that had a trio if Jigglypuffs. "Morty's ghost pokemon have psychic moves to go with their usual spooks... and... then there is Jasmine." Yang knew who Ethan addressed. "Pamela's mother? I know they specialize in steel type pokemon..." Copper watched Pipi and her Trubbish fight through the Jigglypuffs and appoach an arena where Whitney was perking herself up with some caffine, the girl shivered at the thought. "That's going to be a problem for both of us."

Down at the arena, Pipi fed a potion bottle to her Trubbish as Whitney woke herself up and readied a moon ball. "So you made it through that maze!" The ninja nodded as the determined Trubbish stepped forward, the normal type gym leader greeted the Trubbish. "Morning Munci, you weren't what I expected from this girl. Hope you're ready for this." The Trubbish blushed as Pipi readied herself for battle. "We nearly been kept awake all night thinking about it!" Munci agreed and waddled to the arena as a woman dressed as a referee arrived, Whitney began the battle and tossed the moon ball. "Alright, lets get em Jigglypuff!"

Pop! A green eyed Jigglypuff floated into battle and puffed as Pipi ordered. "Munci, spread toxic spikes all over! We will have the field advantage!" The Trubbish scattered pieces of jagged trash all over the arena as Whitney saw the plan and ordered. "Oh no you don't! Jigglypuff use disable and follow with round!"

The Jigglypuff glared and caused the trash bits to wedge into Munci, Pipi ordered as she saw the Jigglypuff try to sing. "Use acid spray and sludge! Strike this fairy down!" The Trubbish sprayed acid that sizzled and enraged the Jigglypuff into a competitive shine, she let loose a round that caused the Trubbish to roll back. Munci coughed up sludge and knocked the Jigglypuff out. Whitney called the balloon back and tossed a poke ball out. "Go Girafarig, lets show them why we are not going to let them push us around!"

Pop! Out of the ball came a Girafarig, a more docile head looked at the poison type curiously as the rear had a more fanged tail that wasn't aware of the foe. They felt a prick from the spikes and the poison that seeped in, Pipi put together one of the reasons Whitney was able to manage fighting types. "If that Jigglypuff wasn't enough of an answer... this pokemon would have-" Whitney winked and raised her left hand to the ceiling. "Yep! Ain't this smart! Girafarig, that Trubbish is weakened, take him down with psybeam!"

The Girafarig glowed her antenna and fired a psychic beam at the Trubbish, causing him to fly back to Pipi and pass out. The ninja called back her trash bag and felt her heart beating in fear of what was to come, she needed all the help she can get. "Kumo, let us strike this foe down!"

Pop! Out of the ball came a Golbat that observed the psychic type, the ninja ordered. "Daze our foe with confuse ray and finish him with brave bird!" The Golbat folded her wings and let loose strange light that confused the Girafarig, Whitney whined out. "Aw! Come on Girafarig, use another psybeam before she tries to out smart us!"

The Girafarig tried to focus and his psychic force blew up on her face, giving the Golbat the chance to strike him down with brave bird. Leaving Whitney to her last pokemon as she switched, Copper barked in the audience. "COME ON MA, GIVE HER HELL!" Whitney looked nervous as she called her Girafarig back, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and took out a great ball. "...All right, I warned you that we are pretty good!" She opened her eyes and tossed the ball. "Miltank, lets beat them up!"

Pop! Thud!

Out of the ball came a Miltank that moo'd in confidence, felt the grimy spikes and ate a tiny green berry to dispel the toxins. Pipi calmed herself and ordered. "Kumo, use hypnosis and stop this Miltank long enough!" The Golbat flew in a hypnotic pattern as Whitney barked. "Rollout and close your eyes!" The Miltank rolled up and rolled herself off the ground, with her eyes closed, she pushed the Golbat to the ground and avoided the hypnotic stare. Pipi and Kumo knew they were in an uphill battle and watched the Miltank return with more force.

POW!

Kumo was rolled into the ground and Pipi tried not to panic at the fact the Miltank outsped her fastest pokemon. "...Kumo... use confuse ray again!" She was hoping her plan worked, if she could stop the rollout for just a moment, she would have time to deal with the Miltank. The Golbat forced herself up, watched the Miltank's force double even from that and shined the sinister light, the Miltank swerved left and right as she rolled. POW! Kumo was knocked flat once more and passed out. The Ninja switched her Golbat and tossed a great ball, both her and Whitney looked to have their hearts thumping.

Pop! Out came a Dustox that saw the rolling Miltank double from the immense power, she was like a boulder. Copper was howling for the finisher and the ninja ordered like her life was flashing before her eyes. "Dasuti... use electroweb and slow the Miltank down, this is what we-" THROOM! The Miltank was closing in on the Dustox, the poison moth was fluttering frozen. BUMP! The Miltank tripped over a pebble in her confusion and missed, crashing into a wall that was pulverized, that was the chance Pipi and Dasuti needed, the ninja regained her confidence and ordered as Whitney was wide eyed in shock. "NOW, SLOW HER DOWN AND GIVE HER THAT TOXIC STING!"

The Dustox spit out electrical web that snarred the recovering Miltank that was regaining her vision, leaving her exposed to a mouth full of toxic liquid. Whitney wailed. "AW! WE ALMOST HAD IT! Miltank, use attract and rollout again!" The Miltank listened, looked at the surprised Dustox and winked charmingly, causing him to fall in love, much to Pipi's frustration. "Dasuti, don't fall for it, keep using venoshock, it is all that matters!"

The Dustox listened and shot a stream of liquid, dealing significant damage to the Miltank, the toxin was taking hold and she knocked the moth back with roll out, the Dustox blushed and hesitated, taking more intense damage much to Pipi's frustration. "Come on... one more!"

The Miltank was returning with more power, the Dustox was embarrassed and sensed his trainer's dismay, it is a close fight. He shot venoshock at the Miltank and broke her roll out, the milk cow skid on the ground and rolled on her side, passing out from the damage and leaving the referee to hesitantly declare the winner. Whitney whimpered and she tried to hold it in, tears were rolling down and she called her Miltank back, looking like she was holding in something.

Pipi nearly fell over in exhaustion as her Dustox couldn't believe it, they beaten the Miltank, Whitney tried to calm down and take out a badge along with a T.M, she approached to take her loss like a big girl. "H...Here is the Plain badge, you definitely earned it!"

Pipi saw the square like badge, took out her case and was regaining her breath as she took the badge. "T...Thank you... what T.M is this?" Whitney answered and felt more calm in the matter. "It teaches the move attract. It will stop your opponent with your pokemon's charms. A cutie move for a cutie!" Pipi agreed and placed the badge away, she went to take the T.M and was certain of a helpful strategy. "...Luring the foe in with ones charms... and then-" Her glasses reflected the light and Whitney felt like venom was forming. "And then... you hit your opponent with something that would hurt later?"

Pipi had a malicious smile and snickered. "Hiding in plain sight, waiting for my foe to let their guard down even more. When the environment changes, the ninja must adapt!" She placed the T.M away and gave a thankful nod to Whitney. "Thank you for this! I know just what to do once I catch that Nidoran!" The gym leader gasped and lead the way out. "You were more serious than I thought, that would be handy with how you and your pokemon battle."

At the gym lobby, the three saw Yang overwhelmed by something and Ethan scolding Copper over something. "And that is why you are NOT going to repeat our habits. If your mother can fight that, so can you!" The man looked to be blushing at Whitney in pride. "That must have been one of the best matches here in the whole week!" He smiled at Pipi. "Congratulations Pipi!" Copper swallowed her pride and agreed. "For winning on your first try..." The gym leader blushed embarrassed. "Ethan, that wasn't a milestone." Yang agreed to that. "But, you felt that your... usual behavior wasn't worth it. Now what?"

Copper took it upon herself to lead the way to a pokemon center. "Now we need to be ready for the next big part. I got to get back on the road while you two got Ecrutek next... you know it is on that forked road near Pipi's hometown." She felt a chill as Whitney warned Pipi. "That's isn't going to be that long of a trip. Morty and his ghosts would still give you trouble... but if you try that trick, you might be able to get past him without much time." She and Ethan looked at Yang in concern, the man asked. "Are... you sure you want to tag along for a battle like that. You told us about the kind of pokemon that give you the spooks." Yang tried to look away from the fluttering wings of the Dustox and the distant Butterfree as she answered. "If I can control my fears, I can better control the rest of my emotions. Besides, Pipi is otherwise just by herself and her pokemon. She needs someone routing for her." Copper sighed and apologized. "Sorry Pipi, family came first." The ninja understood and was the first to enter the pokemon center, ready for a mission most crucial.

In the route north of Goldenrod.

A Mismagius gave a Nidorina a blanket and tried to encourage her. "We didn't mean stay here until that girl comes, I mean just get ready." The Nidorina grunted and raised her ears towards a sound, she growled ready. Rustle! She pounced at a bush and a blue mouthed Haunter dodged, he yelled out with his hands raised up in disbelief. "Hey, watch it!" The stubborn Nidorina blushed embarrassed and went back to hiding, the Haunter shook his head and told the Mismagius. "Mom, it looked like Pipi beaten that Goldenrod Lady and I think she is up to something!"

The Mismagius gasped and guessed. "She is going to take a detour from Ecrutek and head back home to let her father know?" The Haunter scratched his head. "It's the closest city, so maybe." He smiled to the Nidorina like it was no hard feelings. "Eh, don't attack everything in sight. If you see a purple haired girl trying to find a good place to... strike... that's her!" He and the Mismagius flew away, Yo-kai waved goodbye. "Good luck with her, you're going to need it!" With the spirits gone, the Nidorina scratched the back of her ear and rubbed on a tree. Rustle! Rustle! She heard something high in the trees, something a little more heavy than she expected. She looked up at the second tree to the left. Nothing too out of the ordinary.

She sniffed the air and was having a feeling that something was watching her. She growled and rammed her head on the tree, butting it and causing it to shake. Then again, something emerged from the shadows of the tree and slowly climbed down. She head butted again, causing the figure to fall off, an odd, starfish like creature with spikes and a body underneath, he yelled out as he fell. "Look out bellow!"

Thud!

The Nidorina was ready for battle and barked. "What are you and why are you in this part of the woods?" The brutal looking star pushed himself up and was dazed. "Eh..." He realized the Nidorina wasn't friendly, gave a faux smile and apologize. "...Looking for you. Sorry about this, Pipi's orders!" The Nidorina blinked and the Mareanie inhaled, he shot a stream of scalding hot water, causing the poison pin to roll back and yelp at the burn, something shined in the corner of her eye, reflecting the light.

PEW!

A ball with a grey and black coloring flung at her, it had a crescent moons symbol. It tapped on her abdomen and opened to give off a moons shine, she glowed in energy and was dragged in. Out of the ball, the Mareanie waited and watched it shake three times, then clicked, he saluted to the figure above. "Reanie!" Pipi climbed down and couldn't believe how easy that was. "...That was close, she must have a good eye to have seen us." She picked up the ball, her Mareanie and walked back to the grand city.

At the Goldenrod Department Store.

Yang finished packing up essentials and kept a ticket buried in her bag as Copper wished the best for her. "That Ticket is good at any time, once you feel that ya ready, Saffron be waiting." Yang blushed at the well meaning girl. "I know, that battle had so many emotions at once that it... was exciting."

Copper nodded and asked. "I know you are trying to train yourself to not go out of control, Pa said psychics do... strange things depending on their mood. Are you sure you don't need that watering can? That fork on the road has that one pokemon that never moves unless you scare them off with some water." Yang was certain and felt someone coming. "I have Slowking to help. It shouldn't be that long of a travel, regardless of Pipi's goals."

Copper saw Pipi enter the store, the ninja looked confused and looked at her moon ball as she had a Dex in another hand, Acanci whispered something that Yang sensed, the psychic gasped as the city girl asked Pipi. "Is... everything alright?" Pipi nodded and opened the moon ball to let out a Nidorina that roared. "It is... but... what's hustle?"

The nurse was more confused about where Kuīnpin came from than I expected." Copper gasped and smiled wide. "Hustle!? Nidorina?! That's a hidden ability, it's super rare and these kinds are more sought after by expert trainers!" Yang's eyes widened. "Hustle?! But... wouldn't they just miss more often in exchange for more power?" The city girl squinted her eyes and sighed. "I know you're playing with me, hustle isn't the reason. It's when Nidorina evolves that makes her special. It changes to sheer force."

Pipi gasped as the Mareanie looked up the abilities name, reading it made the Mareanie question something as Pipi found potential. "If a move had a secondary effect, the effect is no longer relevant, but the move more powerful. But I need to find a moon stone first, then see if Kuīnpin even wants to evolve then."

The grumpy Nidorina sat down and folded her arms in a rash pout as the Mareanie crawled off of Pipi to say hello, the ninja took out the T.M for Attract and asked. "Until both happen, I need to ask, me and my whole team fight in the shadows and use stealth of some kind before striking our foes down. I want to try something more... subtle, luring our opponents into a more dangerous position... before striking them down. Would you like that?"

The Nidorina listened as Pipi put the T.M into a video machine, she nodded and the ninja asked. "I want you to forget tail whip, attract... is part of this tactic." The Nidorina watched a video of a Clefairy charming a Pikachu, she practice the cute, seductive movement and slowly learned the new move as Yang was suspicious about her. "...She didn't just show up before you on a whim... what happened?"

Pipi answered as she felt her new friend said hello to the Mareanie. "It was like she was... expecting me." She asked Yang. "Was...Yo-kai... responsible for that? A Nidorina in the route... acting like that?" The psychic had her hand under her chin. "I don't think I need to look into Kuīnpin's memories to assume that possibility. It must be luck on the hidden ability, if that Haunter was more malicious... more would have happened."

Pipi blushed as Copper guessed. "That Gastly that showed up on your birthday party... disguising himself as that anime character? He actually does like you if he was putting thought into things like that." The ninja agreed and stuttered. "It...it is all just a game... I'm...I'm still going to try and catch him." Her eyes widen and she asked. "Yo-kai is going to try something big at Ecrutek! I just know it!"

Yang agreed and lead the way out of the city. "That town's gym makes it more fitting for when he does something more... usual." She looked at Copper and smiled. "Thank you, you and your family made this gym trip... fun to watch." The city girl didn't mind and placed her hands on her hips. "Not a problem. Pipi, don't let me catch up to ya, we are not rivals... though I want to battle ya at your fullest when I get the chance." The ninja looked forward to that and gave her goodbyes as she was ready to guide her pokemon with her. "I got your phone number already, so I'll call if I need to."
