A World Opened With Your Heart

Kairi giggled as she swam with some dolphins while Fiona was nearby, smiling. "They like you," she said.

"They're really sweet," Kairi said as she swam around, her mermaid tail shimmering in the water.

The diver smiled as she dove back into the water, also swimming with the dolphins. Just then, she felt something gently touch her shoulder and she turned to find Balan there and he smiled, waving and motioning up to the surface. Fiona nodded, following his instructions and surfacing with the top-hatted man surfacing a moment later. "Hey, Balan, what's up?" She asked.

"I was wondering if Kairi was here," he said.

"She's right over there," Fiona said with a smile about to call the girl over but Balan gently cleared his throat, making her turn to him.

"May I ask you a favor, Fiona?" He asked.

"Sure," she replied.

"Can you keep Kairi company for a bit longer? Say about fifteen minutes?"

She nodded. "Yeah, I can do that," she said.

Nodding to her, Balan vanished and Fiona was a bit puzzled, but shrugged. She knew Balan could be mysterious, but that was just part of who he was. After a bit, she saw Kairi hop out of the water and she got out too just as a Double Jumper landed nearby, looking excited. "Come here! You've got to see this!" He said.

Curious, the two followed him and he pointed to an area made of seashells. The sun was shining on the inner part of the shells and created a beautiful rainbow effect that filled them with awe. "Wow," Kairi said.

"So that's what you guys were up to the other day," Fiona said, smiling.

"Well, we wanted to add something to make your stage awesome, Fiona," the Double Jumper said.

"And you did a fine job at it," Balan said, appearing behind them suddenly and making the Double Jumper yelp in surprise and jump high into the air. The Maestro caught him as he fell down to the ground again, chuckling.

The costume gave him a playful glare and reached up, pulling down the Maestro's hat over his eyes before going to escape, but laughing as gloved hands tickled his sides playfully before Balan gently set Double Jumper down on his feet and fixed his hat. Fiona giggled.

"You mischievous Maestro," she said playfully.

Balan chuckled and Kairi giggled, going up and hugging Balan, who returned the hug warmly. "Come, my dear," he said. "I have something to show you."

Nodding, she waved goodbye to Fiona and the costumes before going with Balan to the main theater. When they were alone in the hallway, she was surprised when Balan paused and turned to her before hugging her close and kissing her deeply.

Kairi clung to him as she kissed him back, blushing as he gave her a French kiss, making her moan softly. "Kairi," he whispered, his deep voice sending shivers down her spine. "My love."

She smiled dreamily up at him, leaning against him trustingly as her head rested against his shoulder. "Balan," she said lovingly.

He kissed her forehead lovingly. "Are you feeling alright, my love?" He asked in concern. "I noticed you seemed a bit stressed out when you arrived."

"Just a long day at work," she admitted softly.

He scooped her up bridal style. "Come," he said, carrying her to a room, once she recognized to be his room. She blushed as he placed her on his bed and he smiled, resting beside her. "Is this okay?" He asked gently.

She nodded before gasping in surprise as he leaned over her, kissing her deeply as his hands gently massaged her sides before he moved onto his back and Kairi was gently pulled closer, now resting on his chest, Balan not breaking the kiss as he began massaging her back to help her relax.

When they broke the kiss, Kairi took a moment to get her breath back. "Whoa," she said, feeling a bit dizzy.

The Maestro felt concerned. "Are you alright, my love?" He asked. "I didn't go overboard, did I?"

"No," she replied honestly. "I...I just wasn't expecting such a passionate kiss." She kissed him again when he was about to ask another question. "I'm okay."

He smiled and nodded. "I was a bit worried I had startled you," he admitted.

She giggled. "You didn't," she said, smiling at him before kissing him and he returned it, cupping the left side of her face with a gloved hand, breaking the kiss after a moment. He then smiled again at her.

"I have a surprise for you, my love," he said.

"Really?" She asked, surprised.

He nodded. "Come with me," he said as he got up off the bed, picking her up with him before he gently set her down on her feet. "Alright, I'm going to cover your eyes and guide you."

Kairi bit her lip. "Don't let me trip over anything?" She asked.

"I won't," he promised. "But if you do trip, I'll catch you."

She nodded. "Okay," she said, knowing he wouldn't break a promise.

Balan gently covered the young woman's eyes and guided her to walk in front of him. She moved slowly and he did the same. A short time later, he spoke. "Right here," he said.

She stopped, still feeling his hands over her eyes. She then heard a door open. "Okay, keep your eyes closed but move five steps forward, my love," he instructed.

Curious, she did as she was told, pausing when she thought she heard the sound of gentle waves splashing. "Balan?" She asked.

"Right here," he said from beside her. "When I count to three, open your eyes, my love."

"Okay," she said and waited as he counted. When he reached three, she opened her eyes and gasped in shock at what she saw.

It was a huge beach, the shore dotted with seashells and starfish. There were rocks that had caves, tidepools, and clear water. "Are we...at the beach?" She asked.

"Yes," he said. "In your personal world."

Her jaw dropped. "Wait...you mean like Fiona's world?" She asked.

He nodded. "Similar, yes," he said. "Do you like it?"

She gazed around and sighed happily. "It's beautiful," she said.

Balan placed his hands on her shoulders. "I had been working on this world for awhile," he admitted. "As I got to know you more, I added more to this world. I wanted it to be perfect for you, my love."

Happy tears gathered in Kairi's eyes at the unexpected gift and she turned to him, taking his hand and guiding him to where a dock was and she dove in, her legs becoming a tail and he smiled. "Though I've seen you transform many times, it still takes my breath away, my love," he said.

She giggled and waved him in to join her. He dove in and she swam up to him. Balan caught her and she kissed him happily. "Thank you, my handsome Maestro," she said.

"Anything for you, my love," he promised, kissing her again.
