WW3 lasted from October 2022 to June 2032. North America is the only surviving continent. After WW3, the United States, Canada and Mexico's leaders had a meeting with the other leaders of the North American continent decided to have an alliance with each other as they are one of the surviving countries after the war. The newly elected US President decided to call themselves NATO, to respect the former alliance. But, instead of Atlantic. It's North American Treaty Organization.
US President Lincoln Clinton says, "It's more like a starter alliance as most if not all other countries are either nuked, completely bombed, uninhabitable, radiation from said nukes and now man-made disasters from said war. Remember, we are also/still getting refugees, POWs, resources and weapons from said countries."
Canadian Prime Minister Jacobs Major adds, "To put it simply, we're humanity's last hope to rebuild, to stabilize, to work together and bring an end to past grudges and focus on the future."
Mexican President Angel Jorge Santos agrees saying, "I agree. We can also have both civilian, military and former countries civilian & military."
A hand is raised as everyone turns to look at the person who raised it. It was Trinidad & Tobago 8th President Patricia Ronalds as she says, "Does that include the POWs as well?"
Angel answers her, "Yes. Even though they're from our enemies' nations, they are still human beings that just speak a different language. And if one or more of their family members are part of the refugees. Then I'm sure that they'll do a lot to see them live a good and war free life."
A lot the people agreed with what Angel said.
It is commendable that President Angel Jorge Santos recognizes the humanity of all individuals, even those who were once considered enemies. Treating prisoners of war with dignity and respect is essential, as it demonstrates a commitment to humanitarian values and sets a positive example for others to follow. This approach can also help to foster goodwill and cooperation between nations in the post-war period.
Another hand is raised.
It was the Cuban President Luis Martinez as he asked a question, "And the flag?"
Lincoln shows them another version of the NATO flag, "I would say use the old one, but...I think this one is a little cool looking. And, as for the military. And for flag patches, right shoulder for nation or nations."
"Nations?" Major questioned.
Lincoln shows them a flag with both the American and Botswana flag split diagonally, "Something like this. That I saw when I was stationed in a Botswana during the beginning stages of the war. It also helped distinguished troops who have a language barrier. Remember the USMC General has a Russian-American flag as well. Including his newly 5th Marine Division that reactivated for service in the war."
Angel reminisces, "Ivan's Marines. From a company to a division. I remembered."
Luis adds in, "Manly made up of Eastern European-Americans and Russian-Americans."
Lincoln then spoke to the leaders, "Right then, all those in favor of the agreement to this alliance, rules, terms and objectives?"
Everyone raised their hands.
"All those who aren't?" Jacobs said as nobody raised their hands.
Lincoln stands up, "Well then. Welcome all to the North American Treaty Organization."
Everyone proceeded to clap their hands in agreement to the new NATO.
Later~
The year, month, day, and time is April 30, 2033, 11:50PM
A US Soldier screams, "WE TO GOT GET OUT OF HERE!"
Private First-Class Wesley Ryder notes through his thoughts, 'That. Was my battle buddy screaming his head off as we are running for our lives. As we are in Fort Story, Virginia Beach, Virginia. What are we running you may ask?'
A Mexican Soldier is also seen running and yelling, "BIG WAVE! OH JESUS AYUDANOS!"
Wesley mutters and thinks, 'That's right. A big. Mother. Fucking. Tidal wave. I look back at the big ass wave and I must be honest. We're going to die. And by we, I mean everyone on this continent.' He sighs, "I guess that hobo was-no is right. It's the end of the world as we know it. The Presidents and PMs did say this is the Great Calamity. From Feb 17th to April 30th of this year or," he checks his watch, "May 1st in the next 8 minutes." He sighs again, "Well at least I live a decent life. 18 years. Damn."
As they continue running, Wesley notices that some of his fellow soldiers have given up and accepted their fate.
Before the wave can touch more of the US soil a US/Former Ukrainian Soldier calls out to him, "Привіт, Янкі."
Wesley looks at her and another US/Former Ukrainian Soldier responds a, "Hmm?" He sees that they have bottles of beer and sees their Ukrainian American flag patch. "You guys aren't running? And what's with the beer? And you two got any names?"
The female one responds in English, "I mean we're going to die. We can't drink because we're under twenty-one and it's our last day of living. And I'm Nina Koval."
The male says his name, "And I'm Boyko Koval."
"We're twins." Both Boyko and Nina said unison.
Wesley checks the time and it's 11:55PM, "I see. Welp pass me a beer."
Nina throws a beer to him, and he catches it and uses his bayonet knife to open it.
He then raises the beer for a toast, "It was an honor serving with you guys and I hoped to see you in the next life."
Boyko raises his beer, "The honor was mine."
Lastly Nina raises her beer, "Same."
The beer bottles clink as three drinks it. Then spit beer out their mouths in disgust.
Boyko coughs and says something in Ukrainian, "Що ми щойно пили?! {What the hell did we just drink?!}"
Ryder checks the beer bottle, "What in the? This is Bud Light! This shitbeer is shit!" He exclaims as he throws the bottle on the ground, and it breaks.
Nina quickly apologizes, "I'm sorry! It was the only one we could find and pass out!"
A nearby US/Former German Soldier shouts, "Gott verdammt! Warum?! {God dammit! Why?!}"
A nearby US/ Former Japanese Soldier also shouts, "この国の飲みたかったのはこれじゃない! {This is not what I wanted to drink from this country!}"
Then a nearby US Soldier said to everyone around, "That's why I found these juice boxes for a reason!"
A nearby US Marine asked the soldier for a juice box.
Then everyone in the area including Wesley, Nina and Boyko walked to the soldier to wash the nasty beer down with the juice.
Boyko sighs in relief, "Ahh, much better."
Everyone answered a quick 'Yep.'
Ryder then realized something, "Wait a minute?"
Everyone looks at him as he proceeds to touch and pinch parts of his body.
Nina was weirded out by this and asked, "What are you doing?"
He also looked back and saw no big wave. He slowly starts smiling, "I'm alive?"
Then everyone realized what meant and saw no big wave.
Wesley smiles and jumps up in the air, "I'm alive!"
The rest of the group also started cheering and hugging each other, relieved that they were still alive. Wesley looks at his watch and sees that it's now May 1st. "Well, I guess this is the new world," he said, looking around at the destroyed landscape. "We should start figuring out what we're gonna do now."
Nina nods in agreement, "Yeah, we gotta figure out how to survive in this new world. But at least we're alive to do it."
Boyko adds, "And we have each other."
The group starts walking together, ready to face whatever challenges come their way in this new world.
Meanwhile~
President Clinton is seeing images from his and other NATO satellites from his bunker.
Lincoln then speaks to the 45-year-old 4-star USMC General Dustin Walker, "General?"
USMC General Dustin Walker answers, "Yes, Mr. President?"
Lincoln asks him two questions. The first is why is he seeing the map of Remnant from the Web show RWBY and the North American continent near Menagerie? And two is how they get there in the first place? Dustin replies, "I don't know, sir. And I still don't know."
Lincoln, seeing the danger of the situation calls to the Secret Service Member in the room, "Get me a line with all NATO Leaders, ASAP!"
Secret Service Member salutes him, "Yes sir!" Then leaves to do just that.
Lincoln then turns to the US Army and Air Force Generals and Dustin, "I want both air and ground troops on high alert, NOW!"
US Army and Air Force Generals and Dustin salutes him. While the Army and Air Force Generals responded with a, "Yes Mr. President!" Walker being half Russian and half African American responds a, "Да sir." All three leave to do their order.
Lincoln then calls the to US Navy and Coast Guard Admirals, "I need our sailors to double time on what they need to do. Our waters should be clear, UNDERSTOOD!"
US Navy and Coast Guard Admirals salute him, "Yes sir!" They leave to do that.
Lincoln then lastly calls to US Space Force General and The Administrator and Deputy Administrator of NASA, "I want every available satellite, alert system and staff on the double, NOW!"
US Space Force General and The Administrator & Deputy Administrator of NASA salutes him, "Yes Mr. President!" All three leave to do their order.
Lincoln then grabs a phone that linked to the bunker, the Pentagon, the White House, Bases, and other sites, "Attention! To everyone in the bunker, Pentagon, White House, Bases, and other sites. This is the United States President Lincoln Clinton! We are on DEFCON 2! REPEAT! WE ARE ON DEFCON 2!"
The room falls silent as everyone listens to the President's announcement. DEFCON 2, or Defense Condition 2, is a high alert status used by the United States military indicating that there is an increased likelihood of nuclear war. The last time the country was on DEFCON 2 was during the final stages of the Third World War.
The tension in the room rises as people scramble to their duties, knowing that the situation must be dire for the President to make such a declaration. The Secret Service agents guarding the President assume positions around him, ready to defend him if necessary.
Meanwhile, the NATO leaders are contacted and briefed on the situation. They agree to send their own military forces to assist the United States, knowing that this could potentially be a global threat.
The US military goes on high alert, with troops being deployed to key areas around the country. The Navy and Coast Guard ships increase their patrols, making sure that no foreign vessels are entering US waters.
The Space Force and NASA work quickly to gather as much data as they can, using all their available satellites and resources.
Across the North American Continent. Alarms and sirens were ringing, bases were on high alert as 90% of troops were veterans of the Third World War, helicopters both attack and transport were in the air as well as attack, fighter & bomber aircraft were also in the air and the Naval & Coast Guard fleets are preparing/prepared for combat as submarine assets were scanning everything for trouble.
Meanwhile with the US President is on an online video call with other NATO members. Most of which looked like they were in a bunker or their office.
Lincoln speaks to the NATO members with a serious look, "Ladies and Gentlemen. Presidents and Prime Ministers. At 11:58pm April 30th, 2033. The North American Continent was about to be consumed by a large tsunami, ending all life on this Continent. Then within a blink of an eye that wave was gone and so were the storms, tornadoes, and hurricanes. At the exact same time, 12:00 am May 1st, 2033."
"You're not the only one getting reports of seeing the tsunami disappearing all of the sudden." Jacobs on screen said.
"Yeah, and storms around here and the rest of Latin-America and parts of the Caribbean suddenly stopped." Angel said on screen.
Lincoln nods as he continues, "Have you all also seen the world map via the satellites? If you didn't you may want to look."
Many of the Presidents and Prime Ministers begin looking at the map and a good half were shocked and confused as they were not on Earth anymore. And the other half knowing what planet they're on and what would've happened if President Clinton didn't have NATO's armed forces on high alert.
Before any of them could say anything, a Space Force Lieutenant came rushing with a look of terror on his face, "Mr. President we got Grimm coming in!"
Lincoln who now has a shocked look turns to the Lieutenant, "What?! From which direction?"
"From every coast in North America, sir!" The Lieutenant said.
This shocks and surprises all NATO Presidents and Prime Ministers hearing this.
At Ocean City, Maryland.
US/Former British Soldier shoots Benelli M4 at a couple of Grimm shouting, "TAKE THIS YOU BLOODY BASTARDS!"
A former French Army now a US Marine is seen shooting Deathstockers with a M2 Browning Machine Gun yelling in French, "MANGE LE! MANGE LE! DESCENDEZ DE MA NOUVELLE PATRIE! {EAT IT! EAT IT! GET OFF MY NEW HOMELAND!}"
A Trinidadian Soldier saw a couple of tanks coming in, "Alright! We got dem T-90s and Leopards coming in!"
Inside one of the T-90s.
A Mexican Tank Commander sees a few Nevermores, and he talks to his gunner, "De acuerdo, Gunner, ¿ves esos pájaros gigantes?! {Okay, Gunner you see those giant birds?!}"
The Cuban Tank Gunner also sees the Nevermores, "¿Sí? Se llaman Nevermore- {Yeah? They're called Nevermore-}"
The Mexican Tank Commander cuts him off, "¡Bueno, no quiero que pasen por delante de nosotros hasta que llegue más apoyo aéreo! ¡Fuego cuando esté listo! {Well, I don't want them entering past us until more air support arrives! Fire when ready!}"
The Cuban Tank Gunner begins to send a round, "¡En camino! {On the way!}"
The Tanks fires both their main, secondary, and top guns at the Grimm killing them in seconds.
Later, Near Santa Monica Beach, Los Angeles.
The USS John Paul Jones Destroyer is targeting and killing any airborne or sea threats with the rest of its Carrier Strike Fleet doing the same as all ships across NATO had to be docked at the nearest ports because of the tsunamis. But when both the US Admiral and President that they are on DEFCON 2. And good thing too. As everyone was fully prepared to fight whatever enemy comes at them.
As they were fighting something big was coming. Both air and sea radars were showing something large coming at them from a long distance. To everyone's shock they were able to see it.
"What the hell?" The Captain of the USS John P. Jones Destroyer said terrified.
Sailors who are equally terrified say a mixture of, 'Oh God./Holy Christ./Oh shit./Oh damn.' Because coming up to them two hundred miles from them were 13 Leviathans, 25 Sea Feilongs, 30 Wyverns and one Monstra. Seeing this made everyone freeze in fear, wet or soil themselves or laugh knowing they're going to die.
Until a US Soldier said something on every radio that was on. To WW3 veterans it was both a blessing to hear or a nightmare, right now it's the former, "TACTICAL NUKE! TARGETING THE LARGE GRIMM, INCOMING!"
Meanwhile in Kuo Kuana, Menagerie.
Ghira Belladonna the chieftain of Menagerie. Was about to get ready for bed, when he saw his wife Kali Belladonna looking in a random direction. This confused and worried Ghira.
"Kali, is everything alright? What are you looking at? Or what are you hearing?" Her husband asked his wife in a worried and concerned voice.
Kali looked at her husband with a look that said many words. But she answered. And it really didn't sit well with Ghira for what she said.
"Millions of Grimm fighting. And very large deadly ones too." Kali said in a scared tone.
Ghira who is now equally shocked and scared just responds, "Monty Oum..."
At the same time. Across Menagerie, Faunas were hearing the fighting southeast from their homeland. Many were worried about who's fighting and many with extra ears were terrified beyond rational thought as they believe it's the end for them. Most were thinking leaving, some just accepted their death others wanting to stay and defend their homeland no matter what they'll face.
Until a new noise came. How loud was it?
Loud enough that everyone in Remnant heard. Plus, the noise wasn't the only thing everyone on Remnant heard. It was seeing something like the sun only...It didn't look like the sun at all.
In Menagerie.
The Faunas on the Continent didn't know what to do or say as they saw the bright mushroom cloud.
In Patch.
People got out of their beds to what both that noise was and why's it so bright outside? Those questions were answered and people, well. Saw it. They are now wishing they went back to sleep.
In Vale.
Everyone in Beacon woke up to the *BOOM!* and earthshaking sound and saw the mushroom cloud.
Ozpin who is witnessing it. Dropped his mug in shocked as sees the mushroom and spoke in a shocked and terrified voice, "Sweet Brother Gods..."
Many of the students and staff of the Academy looked in horror as none were prepared for this.
In a warehouse in Vale.
Cinder and her faction looked at mushroom cloud. And most had one thought in mind.
"What the hell is that?"
In Mistral.
It was the same. However, Lionheart got so scared he had a heart attack.
In the White Fang HQ in Mistral.
"EXCUSE ME, WHERE?!" Yelled an angered and shocked Sienna Khan.
Ilia continues still completely terrified, "S-southeast n-n-near M-menagerie."
Sienna and the rest of White Fang around her couldn't believe what happened near their homeland. Some were begging and hoping it was only a nightmare, others like Sienna shed a tear.
"Find out who did it." Sienna said while she was shedding tears.
Ghira and Kali Belladonna held onto each other tightly as they watched the devastation from their home.
"What in the world is happening? Who could have caused something like this?" Ghira asked, his voice trembling with fear.
Kali shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "I don't know, Ghira. But we need to do something. We can't just sit here and wait for Grimm to come."
Ghira nodded in agreement. "You're right. We need to gather our forces and prepare to defend ourselves."
As the people of Menagerie began to come together to plan their defense, news of the explosion spread quickly throughout Remnant. Panic and fear gripped the hearts of people everywhere as they wondered what could have caused such destruction.
In Vale, Ozpin and the other members of the Council gathered to discuss the situation. "We need to find out what happened and who is responsible," Ozpin said firmly. "We cannot allow this to happen again."
The Council members nodded in agreement, and the search for answers began. But as they delved deeper into the investigation, they soon realized that the truth behind the explosion was far more sinister than anyone could have imagined.
It has been three weeks since the Grimm attack. One thing though, is that the weaponry from Earth shredded the Grimm. Even Wesley managed to kill about 62 Beowolves and 18 Ursai with only 2-3 magazines of ammo with a Single shot each time.
A US Army Major is seen giving orders to troops, "Alright listen up! We just received word from the president that we are deploying to Menagerie. Yes, I am aware that the name Menagerie means zoo. These humans were racist. As you land, you will neutralize any Grimm you come across. And if you see or encounter any Faunas civilians or...what is it called again?"
A US marine war vet raised his hand the US Army Major turns to the marine, "Yes, Marine?"
The marine stood up whose name and rank is Corporal David Fernandes said, "You mean the Menagerie Guard, Sir?"
Wesley's squad leader Sergeant Bob Sten asked David on how'd he knew of that.
Fernandes answered, "I watched the show and read some of its fanfictions on the internet. Pre-war."
US Army Major follows up on what he said, "Which is also why each and every one of your squads will have a copy of the RWBY series Volume 1-9. Be warned not to show this to anyone. Is everything I said understood?"
Soldiers and Marines got up and saluted, "Sir, Yes Sir!"
The US Army Major tells them that they're dismissed.
Ryder turns to his teammate/friend Hina Tanaka, "Looks like we're heading to a southern village."
Hina replies to him,"うん。 Looks like it."
Hina Tanaka and Wesley Ryder are the same age as him, eighteen years old. But she was like him three years ago. In the military fighting a war. First time he met her is when he was deployed to Japan to assist in the Evacuation of the Pacific.
The whole operation was a nightmare for Japanese troops.
Chinese and North Korean soldiers killing both civilians and their allies, 62 of Hina's upperclassmen found dead, Wesley getting both his hands bayoneted though, getting his whole right arm burned by a gas station explosion, Hina getting a grenade blown up on her chest while screaming at an enemy holding it on her and surviving and her former schoolmates, Ryder and then PFC now Cpl. Fernandes using LMGs and Shotguns on the Operation Defense of Los Angeles during the final moments of the war.
To him and many others, it was scary for a bunch of 15–17-year-olds. And for the people that were 18-28 years old when the draft opened.
Another US marine with short dreads named Corporal Anthony Towson says to David, "Dave, seems like we're in the same squad with the 1st Lt. Riverton again."
"Lt. Riverton?" Fernandes questioned.
Towson corrected, "Frank Riverton. The guy who a metal rebar in stomach during our tour in Europe."
Fernandes now realizing, "Oh yeah. I remember that tour. Still have three shrapnel wounds on my back. Say what's our squad's name again?"
Towson answers, "Baker 2-4. Our objective is the same with Baker 2-5, 2-3 and 2-2. Frank's in charge of all 48 of us."
Wesley joins the conversation, "48? Wouldn't be best to just call us Baker Platoon?"
Hina also joins, "That does seem like a good idea."
Then Sten joins, "And to the extra six troops that are in said platoon are a M3 Bradley and T-72B3M."
"2-2 is the ones with the Bradley and T-72." Anthony said.
"Alright. Anyway, we should move. Don't want to get an ass chewed out from other officers." Wesley said.
As the group of soldiers and marines made their way to the landing zone, Wesley couldn't help but feel uneasy about the whole situation. He knew that they were there to help the people of Menagerie, but the fact that they were carrying weapons that were so advanced compared to what the locals had made him feel like they were invaders.
He turned to Hina, who was walking beside him, and asked, "Do you think we're doing the right thing here?"
Hina looked at him with a serious expression, "I don't know, Wesley. All I know is that we're here to follow orders and protect the people of Menagerie from the Grimm. We can't control what our superiors do, but we can control how we act."
Wesley nodded in agreement, but he couldn't shake off the feeling of unease as they boarded the aircraft that would take them to Menagerie.
Later at the beach on Menagerie
A Costa Rican soldier whistles in amazement at the beach and spoke, "Esta playa me recuerda a mi tierra natal en Costa Rica. {This beach reminds me of my homeland in Costa Rica.}"
A Mexican Soldier spoke to her, "Recuerda luego, Mora. Tenemos a Grimm para matar. {Reminisce later, Mora. We got Grimm to kill.}"
"We need those LAVs with us now!" Ordered David.
"Bradleys coming in!" Nina said as one M3 Bradley and one M2 Bradley arrives via the LCAC.
A USMC Field Radio Operator Lance-Corporal named Otto Grant spoke next, "Humvees arriving."
Three M1151 Humvees arrives as Anthony smiles at them, "Good thing they have the Miniguns."
David also smiles, "Yeah."
Jamaican Soldier calls out, "Ay, here our MRAPs."
A Cuban Army ranked Soldado named Lucia Molina spoke seeing the final vehicle, "And lastly here comes the T-72."
One T-72B3M arrives. Frank then addresses the group, "Alright that's everything. Okay everyone, remember! Kill all Grimm first. Then make friendly contact with the villagers. Is that understood?"
"Sir, yes sir!"
Frank nods and continues, "Right then. Get in the vehicles and move out!"
Later~
After taking out the Grimm around the area, which was easy given that it was Earth weaponry used. Bob's squad was patrolling until they spotted a village/town. He called Hina and the others. "Town's up ahead." He spoke.
"Friendly faces, guys." Ryder said.
As they got there, they were met with the Faunus townsfolk.
"Oh, this shouldn't be too hard." Grant said.
Many in the village/town flee inside their homes and lock it.
"I was wrong. This is going to be hard." Grant said.
As they start searching for anyone, Boyko knocks on a door on one of the houses, "Hello?"
The door open revealing to be female with dog ears, she looks afraid, but Wesley decides to talk for Boyko, "Hello ma'am. Sorry for the intrusion, but can you tell us what's this town's name is?"
The woman was afraid to tell him. If she doesn't tell them, they will hurt her children and the townsfolk. If she does, then what?
So, she tells them with fear, "T-T-T-Town's name is G-Graham."
"Neat, thank you." Ryder said as he and Boyko start to leave, the woman wanted to ask them something, "W-what are you planning next?"
Bob chipped in, "I'll answer that. Well one; we came here to tell...whoever is in charge of this town that many others and I killed all the Grimm within the surrounding area."
Hearing this both shocked, happy, and even more scared the woman and the townsfolk that heard. "And two; is to p-"
Another squad called Echo 1-1 speaks on the radio, "This is Echo 1-1 to all Baker units. What's your status on your end?"
"Excuse us, ma'am." Bob says as he answers to Echo 1-1, "This Baker 2-5. We established contact with the town and all Grimm has been neutralized. How's your end?"
Frank on the radio joins in, "All Grimm has been neutralized on our end."
Another squad called Hunter 2-1 speaks on the radio, "This is Hunter 2-1. All clear on my end."
Another squad called Foxtrot 3-3 speaks on the radio, "This is Foxtrot 3-3 with Lima 2-3. We can confirm that our ends are cleared of all Grimm and Grimm nests. Which means all Grimm threats on Menagerie are eliminated."
Then High Command speaks on the radio, "All units, this is Overlord here. Make sure either one or two units are stationed by the villages or towns for safety."
Then Anthony speaks on the radio, "Sir, from the sound of it, it sounds like a High Value Person/People will be arriving."
Overlord speaking on the radio, "Because it is an HVP."
Then David spoke on the radio and asked, "Who are they?"
Overlord continues, "The US President, the Mexican President and the Canadian Prime Minister wants to have a meeting with Chieftain Ghira Belladonna. And/or probably the White Fang High Leader Sienna Khan."
Hina chimes in saying in Japanese, "うーん…これは驚きです。"
Translated, Hina said "Hmm... this is surprising." It seems like the arrival of the high-level politicians and the request to meet with Chieftain Ghira Belladonna and the White Fang High Leader Sienna Khan has caught everyone off guard. It's clear that this meeting is significant and could have major implications for Menagerie and its inhabitants.
