CHAPTER TWO

Chandler pov

Today was the third day he had stayed in Yemen. During his stay, Chandler barely left the hotel. Now he was staring at the clock hanging on the wall as the clock hand pointed seven. He wanted to make a call to Monica but since he was Chandler whom only bad things happened to, his napkin was ruined by the water-left from the bottom of the cold drink he had, which didn't even taste great-on the table. Ironically enough, he remembered it was Monica who emphasized the importance of a coaster. And now he could only wish she had the same ticket back to New York.

His flight aired at so he had two hours left. So about 30minutes later he checked out of the hotel and headed to the airport. As he waited, he looked around searching for the dark-haired woman. In Manhattan this would've been quite easy but in Yemen, it was a whole different story. An hour passed and he didn't see her.

'Oh great. First I blow away the chance to be with this amazing woman who actually gave me her number. And now I'm leaving as the same guy I was when I came here, hopeless and desperate for love.'

He dragged his suitcase towards the check in, giving up his last hope of running into her.

But then someone crashed into him. He lost the grip of his luggage and the person's tickets fell to the ground. The person apologized picking up his suitcase.

"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry-I was in a hurry that-I-I really should've looked out."

"Nono-that's fine. This must be yours-"

As he was giving her the tickets, Chandler read the name on it.

-Monica E. Geller-

He slowly looked up and saw the face he had longed for three days and had been searching for an hour ago. She met his gaze and they froze for a minute.

"Chandler! How-how are you still here?"

She knew he didn't have to stay long in Yemen. Did he wait for her?

"I a.. lost your number so...I figured I could accidentally be on the same flight with you."

He bashfully added. She smiled at that. His boyish smile told her it wasn't just her who missed him. Now she had a playful grin on her face asking-

"So, what happened to my number I gave you?"

They walked up to the desk and gave their tickets to check. While they were waiting they couldn't take their eyes off of each other. It hadn't been more than three days but Monica felt as if it's been three weeks since she last saw him. Even when she was visiting all these nice restaurants in Yemen, all she could think about was that it would've been better if Chandler was there too. Then the lady in front of them glanced over and asked if they were newly weds.

"Oh no, we're-"

She stopped and thought about it. She turned to Chandler and could see that he was thinking about the same thing. So she put on a huge-just got married-grin wrapping her arm around his waist.

"Actually, yes. We are on our honeymoon."

"Aren't we having fun, honey?"

She asked Chandler winking. He smiled and kissed her on her forehead.

"Absolutely, sweety."

"Aw, you two look great with each other. Now let me see what I can do for you.

We have a cancellation in the first class seats. Would you like me to upgrade you seats?"

"Wow, we didn't expect that. But thank you!"

"No problem. Here are your tickets."

When they were far enough that the lady couldn't hear them, Chandler chuckled.

"Well, That worked."

"I know!"

Her enthusiasm clearly visible. Chandler raised is brows playfully.

"You're not so bad an actor."

"You're not so bad yourself, mister."

Monica flirtatiously added taking his hand and leading him to their way.

The first class seats were incredible. They had a more private area so they could focus on only each other. The flight attendants brought them a fancy bottle of champagne to congratulate their marriage and they happily received it. After a few drinks they watched a romantic movie on the big screen and held hands. Monica's heart beat every second that she could hardly watch the movie. When their palms met she realized how big his hands were compared to hers. She liked the way her hands just perfectly fit in his. When the meals arrived Monica actually liked the quality of the food and Chandler lovingly watched her eat. She would blush a little but he thought she looked cute when her blue eyes sparkled like that. Then they fell asleep, Monica leaning on his shoulders. He would lower his shoulder so she was in a better position. Later when he woke up she was snuggling onto his chest. and her fresh rose scent lingered on the tip of his nose. It was the best flight he was ever on.

After a 12hour lasting honeymoon in the air, they both landed and hit reality as they smelled the smoky Manhattan air as they stepped outside of the airport where yellow cabs were parked in line, ready to carry the passenger and their luggage to the big apple.

"So. um..are you busy right now?"

Chandler looked into her eyes trying to hide the nervousness. Although they spent a great time with each other he wasn't sure if this was something he should hang on to or not. And deep in his heart he knew he wanted more with this woman. He simply couldn't imagine someone else since Monica just made his ideal woman now look like a fat-bold guy in his fifties.

'And I still don't have her number. Would she think I was needy and clingy? Oh god- what if she wants to run away from me? She might think I will stalk her around like one of those crazy people-"

Thankfully his crazy train of thought was stopped by her. Monica gave him a warm smile as to reassure him.

"Actually, No."

Chandler let out a sigh of relief and smiled regaining his confidence.

"So. why don't we have lunch together-"

He said turning his wrist to see his watch.

"-at 9 in the morning. Boy, is it bright out here!"

He gestured grimacing at the sunlight hitting his eyes. Monica chuckled.

"How 'bout a cup of coffee down your place where my friend plays one of her quirky songs?"

She held her hand out grinning. Chandler fixed his eyes on her hand and put his hand out before adding-

"Then we can spend some time together and have lunch?"

"And dinner?"

She took his hand and pulled him in the yellow cab as she fell into it. He couldn't help but lean in to kiss her as he closed the door behind him and answered-

"Sounds good to me."
