Maura and Kate's Birthday 2023

Jane was laying on top of Maura kissing her. Maura opened her eyes and smiled at Jane. She loved when Jane woke her up this way. "Jane, are we going to start my birthday this way every year? This is like the fourth year in a row you have woken me up like this."

"Yes, I rather enjoy waking you up like this, don't tell me that you don't enjoy it?" Jane asked as she licked and then kissed her pleasure point on her neck. Jane was so happy. She had a beautiful wife and four great children. She wished to thank Maura and this is the method she chose to thank her especially on her birthday every year.

"Oh God, I do love it. I love be woken up like this not just on my birthday though, you can do this every day if you wanted. Actually, anytime of the day. I love when you kiss me, I always have."

"Maur, if I woke you up like this every morning, I would never want to get out of bed."

"That wouldn't be such a bad thing, would it?" Maura asked as she gave Jane a huge smile.

Jane rose up and held herself above Maura so she could look her in the eye and asked, "Maur, what has gotten into you? You are the one that says we must be up and ready in plenty of time to go to work and now you are saying the exact opposite."

"I know, I guess I am just tired of working and maybe I want to enjoy my life with you and the children." As Maura finished her statement Jane leaned in for a passionate kiss and then replied, "I guess technically we have enough money that we don't have to work but you and I decided long ago that we wouldn't be like that. We wanted to earn our own money and not touch the money that you have invested in various funds. Wow, you spoiled my plans for this morning, babe, I wanted to make love to you not talk about work and money." Jane started kissing Maura again and Maura didn't say another word for a few hours.

They rose out of bed around 6 AM to take a shower and get dressed. The children would be arriving home soon as Angela needed to get to work. Angela loved the tradition of taking the children every night before Maura and Kate's birthday. Angela knew the plans for the day and knew that the children needed to be at their parent's house by 7 AM so that they could go out to breakfast before their surprise event.

Kelly and Erica had surprised the children by taking them to see Barbie on Sunday and then took them out for ice cream before taking them to Angela's for dinner. A week ago, Kelly had asked Kate what she wanted for her birthday and she informed her, "I really want you and Erica to take me to the movies to see Barbie."

Kelly screamed inside as she had no desire what so ever to see Barbie. She never liked playing with Barbie dolls growing up as she was more of a tomboy. Some of the girls she knew growing up loved Barbie but not her. She liked her cars and GI Joe figures.

Erica had tried to get her to go see it with her but Kelly held her ground. She was not going to compromise who she was and see a movie about Barbie. But when Kate told her what her birthday wish was and Erica gave her a great big smile, she knew she was going to go see the Barbie movie. She also knew that Jane would owe her big time.

Kelly and Jane had talked about that movie and both agreed that neither one of them wanted to see it. They both enjoyed quite a bit of the movies that the children wanted to go see but neither one wanted to see Barbie. They concluded that their wives could take the children to see that movie.

This year Jane and Maura planned something special for Kate's 5th birthday. It was Maura's 45th birthday and Jane was saddened that she had to share her surprise with her wife as she needed her help with all the preparations. They had told Kate something when she was three and now was the time to make that event happen.

Constance and Arthur were pleased to help with the planning also. They knew it would make their daughter so happy. Jane really did like to express how much she loved their daughter and they were happy to help. They loved Jane and loved that she loved and appreciated their daughter. A parent could only hope that their child would find love and happiness and Maura did with Jane.

At breakfast they had a birthday celebration and after they sang happy birthday to Maura and Kate, Jane handed Kate an envelope. This was becoming a tradition as this was the third year in a row that Jane had handed Kate an envelope instead of a wrapped present. Kate knew that the envelope could contain a great number of things. There was something that Kate had wanted to do and her mothers had told her she couldn't do it until she was five and as of today, she was five.

Kate ripped the envelope open hoping it was what she wanted. Kate didn't say a word after reading the card, she just jumped up and ran over so that she could hug both of her mother's. "Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love it."

"What is it?" Lilly asked. She wanted to know what Kate had gotten for her birthday. Kate couldn't speak so she just handed the card over to Lilly so she could read it herself. Lilly read it out loud as Kelly, Erica, MJ and AJ also wanted to know what the gift was. "Dear Kate, we know that you wanted to go to a certain place and we told you that you had to wait until you are five years old. Well, today you are five years old so we are taking you to Paris. We leave in just a few hours. We will also take you to Disneyland Paris. The whole family will be going, Mommy, Mama, Kelly, Erica, MJ, AJ and Lilly. We hope you like this present. Love Mommy and Mama."

The children started jumping up and down. MJ exclaimed, "We are going to Paris and Disneyland Paris."

"I love Paris. I love, love, love Kate's birthday present." Lilly exclaimed still so excited. She still held the card in her hand.

Erica leaned over and told Kelly, "You didn't tell me we were going to Paris." She wasn't mad, she was just surprised.

"I didn't know where we were going. Jane just told me to pack things for us for a two-week vacation and don't ask any questions. I didn't know the destination until Lilly read it right now." Their leave had been cleared with the school and that was that. They both knew not to argue with Jane. She was very intimidating. They both just smiled at Jane and Maura and mouthed 'thank you.' Jane and Maura mouthed back, 'you're welcome.' Kelly and Erica felted honored to be a part of the Rizzoli-Isles family and to be included in all of their vacations.

Jane wasn't kidding when she said the plane was leaving in a few hours. By the time they finished breakfast it was almost 9:30. Their plane was departing at 11 AM. Their suitcases were already loaded in the SUVs and they made their way to the private hanger where the Isles Foundation kept their jet. Constance and Arthur were joining them and were already at the jet when the family arrived.

After a few instructions from the crew, the jet was on its way to Paris. Kate was excited. She was curled up with her mama and was holding her mommy's hand within an hour of the jet taking off. Maura thought it was best that Kate slept during some of the flight as she would be excited seeing Paris at night. That was Maura's favorite time as well. She loved all the lights especially the Eiffel Tower when it was lit up.

The flight was just short of 7 hours so the family arrived in Paris just before midnight. They took a short drive around and then went to the apartment. Their apartment had a view that overlooked the Eiffel Tower.

Within an hour all of the children were asleep and shortly after the adults were also. The children were sleeping in their grandparent's apartment which was right next door to Maura's apartment. When Maura was a young adult, she had purchased the apartment right next door to her parent's apartment. She wanted her own place in Paris, but she didn't want to be too far away from them. When the apartment next door to her parents became available Maura purchased it.

Jane loved that Maura had an apartment in Paris. They came to the apartment as often as they could before the children were born. Since the children had been born, they made it to Paris every other year without the children. The children had all heard that their parents had a place in Paris and they wanted to see it. Jane and Maura had always said that after Kate turned five, they could come to Paris. Kate had been dying to turn five so that they could come to Paris.

Their first full day in Paris was just spent touring and seeing some of the sights. When they got home after seeing the sites, they enjoyed a birthday cake that Constance and Arthur had ordered for Maura and Kate. They had traveled on their birthday and it was too late in the day when they arrived in Paris to have cake, so Constance and Arthur wanted to extend their birthday celebration.

Their second and third days were spent at Disneyland Paris. Constance and Arthur didn't go to Disneyland with them as they had no desire to walk all around the park. They knew they would miss all the smiles and laughter throughout the day but they felt they were too old to do that much walking around. The children understood and told them that they would tell them all about their adventures when they got home.

The first day they spent time at the Marvel Avengers Campus. The children were all Star Wars fans like their mama, but they like the Marvel Avengers as well. Like the Star Wars adventures in Disney World there were many activities to enjoy on the Marvel Avengers Campus.

Kelly and Erica were excited when Jane asked them if they would take the children in for their Marvel Avengers Campus experience. "We would love to, Jane, thank you." Kelly said as Erica nodded. They both loved doing things with the children. Jane informed the children that today they would experience the Marvel Avengers Campus with Kelly and Erica.

They had made a morning reservation for the Avengers Assembly: Flight Force and an afternoon reservation for the Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. Jane and Maura knew that they would be tired when their returned to the apartment at the end of the day. Jane and Maura rode to the park with them and then went sightseeing on their own while Kelly and Erica enjoyed time with the children.

When they got to the Avengers Assembly: Flight Force adventure Kate was worried that she might not be tall enough but when they measured her and she was right at the minimum height of 1.2m. This was a time when she was happy that she was tall for her age. She smiled so big as Kelly picked her up and wiped the tears away that had just started to fall. "It's okay Kate, that is why mama measured you before we left Boston. She wanted to make sure you were tall enough and your mommy wanted to get all of the tickets purchased and reservations made before we left."

Kate was happy and Kelly put her down and she ran over to her siblings. Kelly knew that Kate was sensitive and Jane had prechecked all height and age limitations before they booked the trip. She had taken a chance that by age five Kate would meet all of the height and age requirements. Maura assured her that Kate would continue to be ahead on all growth and weight charts as she grew. She was going to be tall like her mama.

Erica had shared pictures with Maura throughout the day and Maura had forwarded the pictures to Constance so that she and Arthur could see how happy the children were. Kate facetimed with Constance and Arthur at one point and they were so excited. Kate was talking so fast they had a hard time keeping up with the energetic five-year old. It made their day though as they sat outside by the Eiffel Tower and watched the people walk by with Jane and Maura.

Jane and Maura had gone to a few places in the morning after dropping off the rest of the family at Disneyland and then joined Constance and Arthur for a late lunch by the Eiffel Tower. Maura had wanted for the family to take a few days off with nothing to do except relax and enjoy each other's company and the use of a friend's pool nearby.

The children needed the rest after spending two solid days at Disneyland. They were exhausted. They squeezed everything in that they could. Kelly and Erica were exhausted also. They almost wished that Jane and Maura had come along so that they would have had assistance keeping up with the four children. They were very thankful that the children were well behaved. They only ran ahead once on the first day but they were never out of sight and they all stayed together. Kelly reminded them nicely that they had to stay with them and not run off and after that they didn't run ahead again.

The second week of the trip they went different places around Paris and spent time in museums and old churches. Maura wanted to expose them to the rich history in the area. The children enjoyed the Louvre. They had spent almost one entire day just visiting the Louvre, as there was so much to see. Kelly was surprised at how small the Mona Lisa painting was. She had always thought that it was larger.

They spent one more day at Disneyland before leaving Paris and returning to Boston. Constance and Arthur enjoyed being in the park with their grandchildren. They really enjoyed being a part of this wonderful family and would always be thankful to Jane for bringing them back together with Maura. Through their time with their grandchildren, they knew what they had truly missed out on with Maura growing up. Maura didn't hold that against them, they were now the parents that she had always wished they would have been. She also had Jane to thank for bringing her parents back into her life. This was just another great birthday that Jane had made possible for her.

Jane and Maura had agreed early on in their relationship that the birthdays that ended in 0 or 5 would always be special and they would go all out on those birthdays. Maura wondered if this is what she received as her 45th birthday present what would Jane do for her 50th. She would have to wait another five years to find out. She knew that Jane would not give her any clues and she loved her for that. Jane loved surprising her and making her birthdays special each year.

Maura didn't celebrate her birthdays growing up as her parents were too busy with their work and friends. It was just another day to them, but now watching as their daughter's eyes lit up on her birthday, they were glad that Jane made each and every birthday special as they should have been all along.
