"Tatsu, I'm off to work don't get yourself into any trouble today, got it?" Maseo jokes to his wife.
"Says you," Tatsu says jokingly back. They embrace and kiss before Maseo turns to leave the house.
"Wait before you go, it's been a while since we've heard from Takeo, do you think he's okay?" Tatsu says with worry in her voice.
"He's still upset with our marriage, I was planning on calling him after work tonight, figure he's had enough time to cool off." Maseo says trying to ease Tatsu's mind. He notices her still looking down at the ground so he walks over and gives her hand a little squeeze. "It's gonna be alright, smile more." Maseo says giving her a kiss on the forehead before leaving for work.
As Maseo steps into his car and turns it on he notices a black vehicle blocking his driveway with a man sitting in the front eating an apple. He steps out of the car and approaches the window of the car.
"Hey I need you to move I gotta get to-" Maseo pauses abruptly and looks down to see a blade protruding from his stomach. Blood spills all over the ground as the man in the car cracks a smile. Tatsu hears the commotion and looks out the window. Her eyes widen in horror as she runs outside to see her husband struggling to maintain his life on the ground. "No no no, Maseo, stay with me please." She says, gripping his bloody hand.
"Tatsu I'm sorry I won't- I won't be able to be with you anymore." Maseo answers weakly as his eyes begin to close.
"Poor weak Maseo, he wasn't fit for a perfect woman like you." she hears a familiar voice call out behind her. As the tears pour down her face she grits her teeth and turns to see Takeo standing their with a blade in his hand, fresh blood still dripping off the tip.
"TAKEO YOU BASTARD HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO YOUR OWN BROTHER!" She screams with anger and sorrow buried deep in her voice.
"Quite simply, he took you from me. I merely came here to take back what is mine." he says with a cold look on his face. She quickly gets to her feet and lunges at Takeo before she is held back by two men in black suits.
"We were so worried about you and now you do this? I'll never love a psychopath like you ever so you might as well kill me too!"
"No, you'll learn to love me, and together we will become the leaders of the yakuza and rule over all of Japan together." Takeo says with a smile on his face as the men holding Tatsu back knock her out. She awakens in a dark and damp room chained to a wall. She hears two men chatting outside her cell.
"Remember what Tadashi sensei taught you" Tatsu thinks to herself as she begins to cry out in pain.
"Oh shit she's awake" she hears one of the men call. They enter the room to check on her.
"What's wrong with you?" one of the men asks her in a deep gruff voice.
"My stomach's killing me, I feel terrible." she says looking down and eyeing the key ring on one of the man's belt buckles.
The man with the keys turns to the other guard and asks him to go fetch a bucket. When the other guard leaves the room the man with the keys begins to turn around. Before he can turn around she wraps her legs around his head and quickly snaps his neck. She uses her foot to pick up the keys and kicks them up into her hand. She successfully unlocks one of the cuffs as the other guard walks in.
"Oh no" he says as he quickly runs out of the room. She unlocks her other cuff and drops to the ground but hears an alarm begin to sound in the compound she's being held in. She snatches the katana off the guard's corpse on the ground and leaves the room.
"SHE'S OVER THERE GET HER QUICK! BOSS WANTS HER ALIVE!" She hears some men call from behind her. She runs the opposite direction but a bunch of men close in on her from the front to. She brandishes the sword, "you guys don't wanna do this, I just want Takeo!" she calls out to them.
"What the hell is one girl gonna do to all of us?" one of the men laughs while taking out a pistol.
Her eyes dart to the man taking out the pistol and throws her katana into the man's throat causing blood to spill all over the place as he quickly falls to the ground dead. She then rushes towards the man she killed as the other guards take out their weapons. She quickly picks the katana out of the man's throat and begins to slice away all of the other people in that crowd.
"Fuck the bosses order's, this bitch is crazy!" one of the guys on the opposite side of the hallways calls before opening fire in her direction. She grabs one of the guards still alive from where she is and uses him as a bullet shield. She kicks him towards the other crowd, stunning them for just enough time to jump from behind the corpse and slash the man with the gun in half. She then quickly stabs the two guys to his side and sweeps the final man off his feet and digs the blade into his chest.
Takeo looks at the video feed from his main office. "She's much better and more skilled than I imagined." he says, "even better."
As Tatsu runs through the halls slicing down guards she hears a voice over the loudspeaker, "Tatsu my beloved, you're even more perfect than I imagined, meet me in the main office. It's just down the corridor you're on and to the right. Guards let her pass, not like you have much of a chance anyways."
She arrives at Takeo's office to see him sitting in his chair brandishing his special blade.
"You caught me by surprise, I never expected you to be this skilled." He says with a smile on his face, "so I'm gonna give you one last chance to join me in marriage and rule over the yakuza with me. Japan could be ours!" he pleads with her.
"No, I'm not going to join someone as sick as you. You killed my husband, your own brother and just expect me to forget about it and love you? No, I'm here to slice you down where you stand." she says pointing her blade at Takeo.
"Pity, I really didn't want to have to kill the prettiest woman in Japan. I truly did love you and Maseo."
Anger overcomes Tatsu as she charges forward but Takeo flips his desk into her face sending her staggering back into the wall. Takeo stabs her in the stomach causing her to let out a pained slams her katana handle into the back of Takeo's head causing him to drop to a knee and then she knees him in the head sending him falling back with his katana in hand. She holds her wound with one hand and raises her blade with the other.
"You truly are way stronger than my brother, with that same wound he fell to the ground and died like a weakling but you, YOU STILL-" Tatsu drives her blade into his wrist which holds his blade. He screams in agony as she grabs his katana now laying on the ground.
"This is for Maseo," she says, slitting his throat with his own blade. She falls onto the ground holding her stomach wound and sitting up against the wall.
"I'll see you soon Maseo" she says under her breath and closes her eyes with a smile on her face.
"Tatsu WAIT!" she hears a loud voice call. Her eyes shoot open as she looks around.
"It's not your time Tatsu" she hears Maseo's voice call. She picks up the katana that Takeo had as a voice calls out from it.
"Tatsu you can hear me right?"
Tears well up in her eyes, "Yes, YES I can" she says to the katana.
"Good, my soul it's stuck in this sword. Takeo taunted me, said he'd keep me in here and force me to hear as you guys had a wonderful life together."
"Yeah well don't worry, that bastard's dead." she says, looking at Takeo's body.
"It's sad to see what my brother became, he was such a good kid when he was younger but love changed him." Tatsu's eyes began to close again as she struggled to maintain consciousness.
"Baby, baby are you still there?" Maseo's voice calls desperately from the katana.
One Week Later
Tatsu wakes up in the hospital hooked up to a bunch of machines. She looks around the room frantically but moves too much and hurts her wound.
"I wouldn't move around so much if I were you" a voice calls from the doorway.
Tatsu looks over at the doorway to see a woman with Takeo's katana in her hand.
"Give me that" Tatsu says with anger in her voice.
"I will, but let's talk first." the woman says sitting across the room from Tatsu.
"What do you want?" Tatsu says coldly.
"I saved your life, you should really be more thankful." the woman says. Tatsu looks away saying nothing in response.
"My name is Amanda Waller, we've had our eyes on this blade and you for a long time Tatsu Yamashiro." A confused expression grows across her face as she meets eyes with Waller.
"I'm from an Agency in America. We'd like to offer you a spot in a group called Task Force X. Our goal is to bring peace to the world. You can have your katana back as well." She says.
Tatsu pauses not knowing what to make of this offer. "Alright I will give you until you're recovered to decide, just know that it's either join us or spend life in prison for all those you killed." Waller says with a dark grin on her face.
"Wait" Tatsu says right before Waller fully leaves the room. Waller pauses and looks at Tatsu.
"I'm in" she answers reluctantly.
"Good," Waller says with a big smile on her face.
