Fighting Cousins

One day, Mario was out at another call with Wario. The two of them had been at each other's throats more than usual. Mario was tired of Wario being so lazy. Wario was tired of being told what to do. The two were very aggressive towards the other and it was only a matter of time until someone snapped.

The two arrived at the house, going into the kitchen to do their work. The house was occupied by Wario's younger brother, Waluigi. Seeing his cousin in purple only made Mario turn his head in utter sadness. He would rather not admit it but he really missed Luigi.

'Luigi, please be okay,' Mario thought, as he got to work.

...

"Hey where is the cry-baby?" Waluigi asked, when they were taking their lunch break.

"Don't ya remember anything? They had a fight." Wario reminded him, having been sitting in his easy chair the entire time.

Mario made a fist, walking over to Wario. Mario had officially seen red as he punched Wario, right in the face, drawing a bit of blood from his nose. Waluigi's eyes flew open wide as Wario put his left hand up to his nose. When he saw the blood, he looked at Mario, furious.

Mario broke his silence as he hissed, the tears in his eyes, "I should've never partnered up with you in the first place you were always mean and selfish to my brother and I growing up, and that's what you you'll always be!"

Wario looked at his older cousin as Mario felt his body shaking with anger.

"Wario, are you okay?!" Waluigi asked, concerned.

Wario got off of his butt and answered, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just let me beat some sense into Mario here."

With those words, Wario punched Mario's right cheek, sending the red capped plumber back a bit. Mario didn't care as he made a stance.

"I think you are the one about to be beat here." Mario declared, a fire in his eyes.

Mario ran towards Wario, tackling him. Mario punched Wario in the stomach, making the heavy set man in yellow groan in pain. He returned the favor by punching Mario in the chest. The moans of pain escaped Mario's lips as the two fought. Waluigi had seen the two fight before but this was intense.

Cheeks were punched, ribs were broken, and a fire was exploding. Waluigi stayed on the side, staying out of the fight that had broken out in his house. The two kept pounding the other, giving each other black eyes and bloody noses. Soon after, due to his experience in multiple fights, Wario had won.

He panted as he looked over Mario. He was badly beaten, the blood running down from his chest. He had a black right eye, to match Wario's black left eye. In fact, Mario had barely even made a scratch.

Wario taunted, catching his breath, "You were always a hot head. Jumping into fights ya knew ya lose." He turned to Waluigi and added, "I'm headed out of here."

Waluigi started to protest, "But what about Mario..."

"I don't care what you do with him." Wario interrupted. "Just leave him there to rot."

With that, Wario left Waluigi's house. Mario watched him go, a hatred in his eyes. 'One day, I will defeat you,' Mario thought, slowly passing out.

...

Mario eventually woke up again, seeing he was on the couch. He had been bandaged up greatly and an ice pack on his black eye. He carefully sat up, seeing Waluigi shivering in his chair. Mario looked down and saw that Waluigi gave him all of the blankets. Mario softly chuckled.

'At least one of them was nice,' he thought. Mario got up and immediately regretted it. His badly damaged body hit the floor rather hard, waking Waluigi up instantly.

"Whoa, hey there! You get back in bed!" Waluigi stated, going over to Mario.

Mario groaned as Waluigi got him off of the ground.

"Thank you..." He groaned in pain.

Waluigi was surprised but smiled anyways.

"You'll get him next time," Waluigi promised.

"With Luigi by my side," Mario replied, a bit softly.

Waluigi said nothing but got Mario back on the couch. He took a blanket, sitting near him. The two fell asleep, dreaming of better days.
