Finale

As Mario took the lead, Luigi and Peach following close behind, the ship had started to enter the portal back into the Mushroom Kingdom. However, the ship was starting to go a bit fast and an uncontrolled pace. Mario, Luigi, and Peach were all thrown back by this, grabbing anything stable that they could.

"This is really bad, we are falling way too fast!" Mario shouted.

"We have to try and get the ship back on course!" Luigi suggested.

"It's too late, I can tell we are back in my kingdom," Peach told them, solemnly. "There's not much we can do..."

Mario and Luigi's face both softened upon hearing that. Both of them looked at the other, frightened.

"Malleo..."

"Weegie..."

"Close your eyes! And brace for impact!" Peach yelled, capturing their attention. Both brothers closed their eyes as they embraced each other, waiting their oncoming doom. Peach placed both of her hands over her heart, her body glowing a brilliant gold light. "Star Power of mine be true! Save us from the evil that we are about to endure!"

As soon as Peach chanted that, the entire ship started to slow down. The gold light surrounded not only the ship but Peach as well. Now her entire body from head to toe was covered completely in gold. The ship started to slow as it re-entered the kingdom, the bow of it barely even touching the ground of Toad Town.

The ship jerked a little as it was completely on the ground. Peach panted, her entire body feeling like it was on fire. Her entire look returned to normal as she looked at Mario and Luigi. They were both out cold. Peach sighed of relief, not wanting them to know about her Star Power quite yet. She slid down to the ground of the ship, completely exhausted.

...

"Princess...?"

Peach slowly opened her eyes, seeing that Toadsworth was with her, attending her.

"Toadsworth?" She asked, weakly. "How long have I been out?"

"Just a few hours, my dear," he answered, wiping off the blood she had on her.

Peach breathed a sigh of relief as she stated, "Last time I used that power, I was out for weeks."

"Yes, I remember, my Princess," he replied.

She looked at him and asked, "Are Mario and Luigi okay?"

"Yes, they are alright," Toadsworth answered, with a nod. "They are quite fascinated by our world."

"They do know that they may not be able to return to their home, right?" Peach asked, concern in her voice.

"That is the last thing among their worries, my dear," Toadsworth answered, making eye contact with her.

Peach sighed, as she knew that Toadsworth meant that the brothers would be worried about her.

"Tell them I will join them soon," Peach ordered gently.

"Yes ma'am," Toadsworth replied, heading out the door.

"And Toadworth?" She asked, gaining his attention. "Not a word to them."

"No Princess," Toadsworth agreed. "Not a word."

With that, he left Peach to herself, the princess smiling as he left.

...

Peach couldn't help but wonder if Satoji had any family in the Upper World. Sure she didn't know him that long but she couldn't help but feel responsible for his death. She knew Luigi had known him a long time, which is why she insisted on him saying a few words.

"He didn't have much," he admitted that breezy afternoon. "All he had was his friends and his brains. Yet he was a better person than I ever will be."

"That's not true, you know," Peach pointed out.

"How do you know that it is not," he challenged.

To that, she had no answer. And she still didn't. She hated that.
