Hello there everyone my name is Sah, and this is my first ever fanfic. I'm a big honkai fan hence the story and I just felt for Kiana being stuck on the moon after the recent chapters.
Anyways this stroy is obviously going to be a crossover fic and I do hope you stic around and enjoy it.
If this story does work out I do plan to create sequels with other anime universes so wish me luck and your support would be appreciated
Chapter 1: Successor of Finality
'You seem disturbed.' A soft voice suddenly spoke within her mind. One that had been her only company for countless millennia that she had been here…alone.
'Is that so strange?' She asked as she allowed herself to gaze upon the distant earth from the white surface of the moon that she stood upon. 'I am here…alone, with nothing but my thoughts. All my friends have passed to time, and I've had no one visit in so long. So I ask you, is it so strange that I am disturbed by this loneliness and solitude?'
'No…I suppose it isn't.' Kiana wasn't sure if that response was supposed to make her feel any better, but she already knew by now that the Cocoon of Finality was a being without empathy, unlike her. She still liked to believe that she was human at her core, 'Humans are social creatures after all…'
Kiana could tell the cocoon had more that it wanted to say, she could feel it through the connection that the two of them shared as entities of a higher plane. So she waited, patiently for it to speak its mind. And her patience was rewarded…
'…but if it is solitude that you wish to run from, then why not leave? Why not return back to your home?' The question in itself was genuine, Kiana could here the confusion laced within it and the Kaslana had to resist the small smile that tempted to form on her lips.
Instead a sad smile took its place as she gazed upon the world she had fought so hard to protect, she along with all those she held dear had fought for all that was beautiful in the world and had ended this wretched story the way they wanted. But it was also for that reason that she couldn't bring herself to go back home…
…there was no one waiting for her anymore.
'It wouldn't be the same.' Kiana responded, her answer short, but laced with so much raw emotion that her point was sent across easily to the Cocoon.
'…I think I understand.' Kiana doubted that it did, but that was okay. It was trying, they were the only two of their kind, and the cocoon was trying to connect with Kiana despite it's lack of empathy.
Kiana had reciprocated this same desire, and yet despite the thousands upon thousands of years they had been together Kiana still felt the need for more. She was a social creature by nature, and while the Cocoon was trying it wasn't quite there yet. She didn't feel like she was talking to another human being…at least not yet.
…she understood more than most that progress takes time.
'If you cannot return home, then why not travel elsewhere.' The Cocoon spoke up, brining Kiana out of her thoughts.
'…Is that…possible?' Kiana wondered, as stupid as it sounded Kiana had always assumed that she had to stay here. Not only because she was born in this universe, but because she had a a duty to protect it, 'No…wait. Even if I did leave, where would I go?'
'Anywhere you desire, there's nothing to stop you.' The answer was spoken as if it was common knowledge, 'There are limitless leaves on the imaginary tree, countless civilizations to travel across. And with your power rivaling, perhaps even surpassing my own, it would take but a thought."
'How can my power surpass yours, you were the one who gave me the power of finality?' Kiana asked in confusion, from what the AE doctors had explained to her long ago, the cocoon of finality acted as one large Herrscher core for the Final Herrscher and all other herrscher cores were just a shadow or fragment of the cocoon. That meant the only true Herrscher was the Final Herrscher.
So for her powers to surpass that of the Cocoon shouldn't be possible since it was more or less the source of her strength.
'That was the nature of our relationship in the beginning, but in the many millennium that have passed your body and mind have evolved and adapted to this power.' The cocoon explained as Kiana took a moment to inspect herself, she really didn't feel all that different, though she supposed if the change was so slow as to take thousands upon thousands of years then that change wouldn't be noticeable. 'The power that you know as honkai energy is merely power that I drew from the imaginary space and used to influence numerous civilizations in order to push their evolutions through sharing fragmented versions of this power. But your grown to the point where you no longer rely on me for power, but rather…'
"I'm drawing strength from the imaginary space itself…just like you." Kiana muttered out loud this time, the shock from the revelation simply too great for her to mentally digest it unless she said it out loud.
It was hard to believe but not totally impossible, the only reason she hadn't noticed this change was because of how long it had taken place over. Still the fact that she was now an entity identical to the Cocoon in every way was still a lot to process.
"Your potential for growth far surpasses my own Kiana." The Cocoon spoke, but this time the Kaslana didn't here the voice in her head as she though she would. Instead it came from her left side, prompting her to turn her head, beside her stood the white silhouette of a girl around her age in a simple white dress that reached down to her knees, this was the Cocoons human form, "…unlike me, this power came naturally to you, as a process of evolution."
"What do you mean?" Kiana asked, she thought the power of finality was infinite in nature. How does one grow beyond that? At the very least the two of them would be equals.
"My powers were defined from the moment I was born. My civilization foresaw their own demise, and so they joined their consciousness and will with the planet, giving birth to me, a being born from that collective consciousness." The Cocoon started, Kiana had heard this story before, from the Cocoon itself no less. She knew better to interrupt though, if there was a point to this story it would come out sooner or later, "My powers were finite from the beginning because of this. Though when compared to the standards of human civilisation it seemed there was no limit. You however…"
"What makes me different though?" Kiana asked in confusion.
"Natural evolution. Your development from the moment you were born, or created, has been natural growth fhat lead to you claiming the powers of the Herrscher of finality, and your continued growth both mentally and physically eventually lead to you becoming what you are now." The Cocoon explained as it turned it's human form towards the Kaslana, a small smile gracing its ghost white face. It would have unnerved Kiana if she wasn't so used to it after so long, "The title 'Herrscher' can no longer be used to describe what you've become."
Silence reigned for a moment as Kiana took a moment to really think Bout what this meant for her, and how it would affect her future moving forward. She had all this power now, and because of it she wasn't just confined to this leaf oj the imaginary tree, her influence was already strong enough here that she didn't actually need to be here to defend this universe.
So she could leave, travel to other universes and civilizations across the imaginary tree, it was certainly better than being alone on the moon forever.
"Kiana…I won't be able to keep you company much longer." The Cocoon said as Kiana's head swiftly turned towards its humanoid figure with wide eyes at the implications of those words.
"Wh-what do you mean?" Kiana asked, already dreading the somewhat obvious answer.
Although the two of them had somewhat of a weird and still distant friendship, the Cocoon was a companion and a friend in the eyes of the Kaslana. After losing all those she held dear to time she didn't want to be left alone once more.
"My existence was simply never meant to be. It's why I was never able to truly grasp the imaginary powers that we now wield." The Cocoon said, and for the first time since they first interacted with each other Kiana could hear just how tired and yet at peace the cosmic being was, "I'm a being born from the merging of an entire civilization with their planet, this power was thrust upon me because of being a higher being. I was always… defective to an extent, despite the power I wield. But you, a singular being, overcame all the odds and have easily surpassed my greatest expectations."
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Kiana asked, she didn't want to say goodbye, not like this anyway.
"There is, but I've accepted this fate. I'm just glad I was able to complete my mission." The Cocoon said as it turned to Kiana with a smile, "Unlike me, you will never truly be alone. Your ability to interact with civilisation has not been hampered by your prowess. But I must warn you, that different worlds have their own dangers, you may be powerful but we're not invincible."
Kiana could tell that the Cocoon was pushing the subject away from its demise. The Kaslana wanted to argue, to tell it that if she could help then it should let her, but the Kaslana knew better by now. Once the Cocoon had made a choice that choice was final.
If it wanted to rest then who was Kiana to deny it that.
…perhaps it was also for the best. Kiana knew the Cocoon of Finality was responsible for the destruction of countless civilizations and the suffering of many people, she also knew that although her own civilisation had succeeded in embracing finality through her the Cocoon had not stopped in its attempts to create more beings similar to the two of them.
"Thank you…" Kiana said as she turned to the Cocoons human form with a sad smile in my face.
"Perhaps you will find a better way to encourage the evolution of humanity." The Cocoon said, Kiana nodded her head in a silent promise. It was the only thing that she could do in that moment, words wouldn't come out of her mouth, seemingly stuck in her throat. She was struck with an emotion that she hadn't felt in many many years, grief, "Then I bid you farewell, Kiana Kaslana. The true successor of Finality."
With those final word the Cocoons human form began to vanish, disintegrating from its left side starting with the arm.
Kiana stepped towards it as she reached out with her right to try and grasp it, only for the rest of its body to anise just as was in reach.
The Kaslana stared, wide eyed, at the vanishing particles that were disappearing into nothingness. She just couldn't believe that the Cocoon was gone just like that. It was entity that was responsible for the destruction of multiple civilizations, including the destruction of an entire era of civilization in her own universe.
And yet she could no longer feel its presence. Not just its human form, but even the actual planet sized sphere that was its true form was no longer connected to the Kaslana. The Cocoon of finality was truly gone.
Kiana still found it hard to grasp that she was more or less taking its place, that she was now more or less one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful entity in the entire multiverse.
Outside of the Imaginary Tree itself and the Sea of Quanta.
But those were more like Cosmic forces rather than the living beings she could interact with.
Still, what was she to do with her life now. She had stayed here, in the moon, for many millennium watching the development of her home world. She was more than confident in their growth. They had come to fully accept the embrace of finality, and because of it had come a very long way since the time she had become a part of finality herself.
They were more than capable of taking care of themselves and being independent. She would still check up on them obviously, this was her home, but she also wanted to go out there and see what other worlds had to offer.
She had to find a new purpose for herself, but before that she just wanted to get adjusted to human society once again.
She could figure out what she wanted to do, after she figured out who she was.
With that said, a portal opened up in front of her, leading to the imaginary tree. The Kaslana turned to her home world once more.
"This isn't goodbye, but a 'See you later'." The Kaslana muttered with a sad smile. She wasn't sure to whom she was saying those words to exactly.
The world she once called home?
To the people currently inhabiting it?
To the loved ones she had once stood beside so many years ago?
She wasn't sure what the actual answer was. But she did know that she was taking a step forward into reclaiming her life, and so without further delay she stepped through the portal and towards her future
