Two months had gone by and the SHPE was upon Izumi. She had refined her techniques to be top notch. She had also gone through every rescue scenarios and first aid techniques so that she did not found herself lacking at the exam and lose her chance at becoming hero on the first try. It was harder than the normal hero license exam hero schools take therefore nobody has passed the exam on the first try.

Regarding keeping her identity secret, she found a loophole in the rules for documentation of the file required for the examinee to submit for the license. That the examinee applying for underground heroics may need to only submit their hero name and type of the hero they are going to be and other things become optional so to keep their name secret from the enemies and keep their families safe.

Every hero recently has gone through the hero schools they had their file submitted with everything they did by the school which is why the Hero Commission had so much power because they have all the information. Even the SHPE examinees had to give their information to the commission as they mostly are limelight hopefuls or they don't the rule at all. The rule was very old rule when the hero law was passed and it was in the special section of the main charter that it got buried under so much amendments that not many know about it outside the Hero commission president. It was a special law so it can't be removed by anyone even if there is an unanimous decision to remove it. What the commission did not know that the quirkless people can use this law to become hero.

Izumi had run through every scenario and was prepared for the exam the next day she was going to attend to start the hero career of her alter ego, The Ranger.

Next Day

Izumi was standing at the examination center for SHPE in her hero suit with helmet on. She was leaning on her bike which was made of nano tech and had an all black color. It can be turned into the sword she used. Both the equipment had the same handle. The handle could be used as a sword, two swords, a bo-staff and finally the bike. The swords were made from the ionized muon particles which was released from the many of nano arc reactors present in the handle. The bo- staff and bike were made of the nano fluid Proto-Vibranium. The bike was electric and can go to incredible speed of 340 mph. (A/N: The tires are present in the pocket dimension which only come out when they are in bike mode. Engine is made up of arc reactors so the bike is clean)

Many male examinees tried to flirt with her but she kept ignoring them. When the time for registration began, she tapped a button on the bike which had the nano tech flow back and become the handle again. It can become bike by pressing a certain circle in the handle and pulling it apart and back to handle by the above method or pulling the handles away from the bike while pressing the same circle. It can also be done through the help of Athena.

Izumi walked into the building and gave her forms at the registrar who looked at it and frowned.

"Ma'am, the form is incomplete", said the registrar.

"It is complete, check your rules if you think it is incomplete.", replied Izumi.

"There is no such rule that allows person to only give the hero name and his type of hero.", said the registrar with confidence.

"Oh really, please call the head of the examination", replied Izumi while leaning over the desk intimidatingly. It was also scary as she was using a voice modulator to keep her identity secret.

The registrar a bit frightened called upon the head of examination. The head when came and inquired was told everything. He took the form for clarification, he saw that the type of hero was underground and knew he could not do anything as one of the original rules created stated as such. When he told that it was okay, it shocked the registrar but he filed it as he could not refute his senior.

After everyone had registered she looked around the hall there were at least 50 examinees for the SHPE. The head came on the stage to announce that the exam was divided into three parts, first was written exam. The examinees were led into a room where they were given a seat number. They were given about three hours to complete the exam. The questions were divided into three sections. First section was multiple choice, second section was about where which rule was applied and in third section it was about what you would do in the situation. It was easy for Izumi who had high intelligence. She finished the exam in one and half hours. She double and triple checked it. She submitted the papers after which she was told to wait in the main hall where she had Athena hack into the center server and look up every candidate's profile and made sure her profile did not have unnecessary data.

After everyone had finished the exam, the head announced that everyone passed with few just making the cut-off marks. The second phase was that each one will have to capture a villain given within a certain period of time. The villains in the examination were former villains but the examinees were not told about it. But Izumi figured it out after hacking the servers. They were told to enter the wait in the hall as one by one were called in the arena for the examination. The examinees were called randomly. Every other examinee could watch the examination. As time went by the numbers began to dwindle because of some of them could not capture the villain or did something wrong. At the end it was Izumi's chance to do the examination, she went into the arena. She patrolled the arena but never arrested the villain even if he went by past her. Other examinees thought she was going to fail but the examiners knew she was doing the best as the villain had not done anything villainous for her to arrest her. When the time ended, she had not arrested the villain. When the examiner announced that she passed, other examinees protested but their protest was squashed when the head said that she did the correct thing as the villain did not do anything villainous she cannot arrest him legally and her license would have come under scrutiny. The examinees grumbled but could not do anything as it was the truth.

There were only twenty five examinees remained including Izumi. The third phase was announced that it was an rescue operation as they saw that arena was destroyed and people from Help Us Company placed themselves in areas and they have to rescue them.

When the examination started, Izumi did a thermal scan of the area and went to rescue the people. She did everything she knew, she took extreme care when moving the debris to rescue an injured person, asked the right question, calmed down the people in a soothing tone, and gave medical attention to those who needed it. She carefully took them to medical stands while making sure that there weren't any stray villains in the area who may take the opportunity to attack. She made it to the medical stand when one wall broke off and few villains came out to attack the medical area. She and few examinees worked together to make sure that no villain got passed them into the medical bay. After few minutes. a horn sound filled the arena, signaling the end of examination.

When the results where given she found that she scored the highest and had passed the examination. A photo of her in the hero suit was taken for the license which was printed and given to her.

After walking out, she send the picture f her license to her loved ones who were very happy for her. Seeing it was already evening, she went home. After reaching home, she saw that Momo was there. Momo and Inko congratulated Izumi on her success and had a feast at the night after which they went to sleep.

At Night

Izumi was lying on the bed looking at the license and thinking how far she had come from that four year old girl. A lot had happened this past years and she would do it all over again the same if she was given a chance to go back to the past. Thinking of past, she thought of Momo how she had fallen for her and wanted to tell her but she thought she was not worthy for her. Just then her room's door opened.

"Izumi?", asked Momo entering the room.

"Yes, Momo", Izumi replied.

"Can I talk to you?", asked Momo

Izumi gave her affirmative. Momo came and sat next to her and fiddled with her fingers as she was nervous. She had fallen for Izumi awhile ago and wanted to tell her. She also thought she was not worthy for the woman that was seating next to her. After a while, she spoke.

"Izumi, I know this is sudden but I wanted to tell you this for a long time, I love you. I have loved you for a long time now and I think I am not worthy for you so I wanted say it to get it off my chest", Momo spoke and she got up and started towards the door. Izumi was stunned to hear that Momo loved her and was very happy on the inside but when she saw Momo was leaving without hearing her reply. She got up and pulled her hand from the door while closing and pinning her in the middle. She looked down in her eyes and replied,

"You can't just say something like that and leave without hearing the reply. The reply is", and with that she dipped her head and closed the space between their lips and kissed her with passion. Momo was shocked for a moment but began to kiss back. They kissed for a few minutes but had to separate for much needed oxygen. They stared into each other eyes lovingly and started kissing back again. After a while both of them could be found cuddling each other on Izumi's bed.

"So what does this make us?", asked Izumi looking at Momo while playing with her hair.

"I suppose lovers", Momo said and gave a peck on Izumi's lips.

"Lovers then", Izumi confirmed.

After a while Izumi asked her on a date for the next day as it was Sunday to which Momo replied she will be happy to go on a date with her. After that they fell asleep while snuggling into each other.
