I'm laying down. Laying down on a bunch of grass. I'm surrounded by wheat as far as I can see. Just a bunch of wheat. It's kind of warm, not too warm though. It's pretty nice outside, actually. I don't know where I am, but I don't really care right now. I think I'm just gonna lay down here and fade into nonexistence for a bit. That sounds nice… at least it did, until a blue, holographic screen appeared in my face.

Welcome to the wondrous realm of Percy Jackson!

'Percy Jackson? Ain't that a book series?'

You bet your sweet ass it is! You're here now. You don't know anything at all, right? That's because of me.

'Well… can you give my knowledge back?'

Nope. That'd ruin my fun. I'm bored, so I created this world, erased all irrelevant information from your mind, and dropped you in here. Now, do you wanna be a kick-ass demigod and do some cool shit or no?

'Is that even a question? Of course I do. What do I gotta do?'

First things first, good ol' character creation. I lied when I said I dropped you into the world of Percy Jackson earlier, you're not there yet. This is a world I created to explain some things to you and get things sorted before I cut ya loose. A medium, if you will.

Alright, cool, cool. Now, demigod shit, let's get to it!

Ok, ok. First off, choose a name.

The screen extended.

NAME:_

'Alright, lemme think. I don't know much about myself, the world, or anything, really. Uhhh. I like video games, I think? So, let's go with Dante. Yeah. That sounds good. Dante Kallore.'

NAME: Dante Kallore.

Alright, now, choose a gender!

GENDER: MALE|FEMALE?

'Gender AFTER name? I guess I kinda have to choose male, don't I?'

GENDER: MALE

Moving on, you've got 65 stat points, spend them wisely! You can't go above 15 in anything, though. That'd be unfair.

Strength: 0

Endurance: 0

Agility: 0

Speed: 0

Intelligence: 0

Wisdom: 0

Perception: 0

'Ohhh, shit! Stats! Alright, this is like a video game, then. Let me think.'

I want to be pretty strong, obviously. Endurance sounds good, too. Gonna need to be at least kind of quick, and I don't plan on having marshmallows for brains so I gotta put a bit into intelligence and wisdom. Alright, so that leaves me with this

Strength: 13

Endurance: 15

Agility: 8

Speed: 9

Intelligence: 7

Wisdom: 6

Perception: 7

Looks good, I guess. If I'm gonna be fighting monsters, I'll have to be pretty damn strong if I don't want to be crushed. Besides, I can probably get my other stats up later on. Probably.

Done with stats? Good. Now, the most exciting part, choose a godly parent! Some are locked, just so you don't get too overpowered right off the bat, and since some goddesses are maidens.

ZEUS: [LOCKED]

POSEIDON: [LOCKED]

HADES: [LOCKED]

HERA: [LOCKED]

HESTIA: [LOCKED]

ARTEMIS: [LOCKED]

APOLLO

ARES

APHRODITE

DEMETER

DIONYSUS

HEPHAESTUS

HERMES

IRIS

TYCHE

NEMESIS

HECATE…

The list trailed off into dozens and dozens of gods. I figured out that I could view their domains by tapping the screen on their name. Cool. Let's see, luck, love, war, agriculture, victory, magic, beekeeping, wine…

I looked through several of the domains available, and a few caught my eye. War was cool, obviously. Luck also seemed nice. Victory was another good option. Beekeeping would be silly, but probably not very strong, same goes with love. Magic? Magic is really cool… wait, what's this? Moros has the domain of doom? Fucking, doom?! Obviously I'm picking that.

'Yo, god-guy-system-thing, I pick Moros!'

That's an interesting choice. Haven't seen that one before. Typically, I see people pick Ares, Nemesis, Tyche, or Apollo. Most people don't look long enough to find Moros, since I don't have this list in alphabetical order. So, we're going with him, then? Cool, here's the final product:

Dante Kallore

Demi-God Son of Moros

Strength: 13

Endurance: 15

Agility: 8

Speed: 9

Intelligence: 7

Wisdom: 6

Perception: 7

I'll let you see skills and passive effects when you get down into reality. Oh man, this is gonna be fun to watch. See ya!

'So am I finally going down now? Cool, let's get to it.'

Everything around me faded to black. For a few moments, I was floating in nothing but void. Suddenly, color filled my eyes. Well, bleak color, but still color. I looked around. From the looks of it, I was in some old back-alley behind a building. It seemed to be night. I was kind of short, but also not super short. I'd say, maybe, 5'6-ish? 5'7, maybe? Whatever the case, I was in a dark alley, it was night time, and I had no clue where I was. If I had to guess, probably somewhere in New York, cause that's where the books take place. Don't know how I know that, but I do. The system said something about being able to check skills, so I should be able to check my stats and stuff, too. Let me see…

Dante Kallore

Demi-God Son of Moros

Mana: 350/350

Stamina: 150/50

Strength: 13

Endurance: 15

Agility: 8

Speed: 9

Intelligence: 7

Wisdom: 6

Skills:

Demi-God: You're half god, half human. Because of this, you are naturally better in basically every way. Physically, at least. You recover from fatigue and injuries much quicker than regular humans, and you can drink and eat nectar and ambrosia.

Doom Sovereign (Level 1): As a son of Moros, the God of Doom, you have a form of danger sense that warns you of incoming doom. As this skill levels up, you will be able to sense doom from further away, and to a higher degree.

Doom Aura (Level 1): Use your connection to doom. Show your enemies that you are inevitable. Push outwards with your presence and inspire dread into the hearts of your enemies. Costs 10 Mana per second to use. As this skill levels up, you will inspire more fear in your enemies

Analyze (Level 1): A skill given to you by the system, it will allow you to see the stats of any being, as well as give a description on any item, to a certain degree. As this skill levels up, you will be able to analyze stronger beings and get more detail on them.

Well, that's metal as fuck. Doom Aura? Yeah that's edgy. Cool as hell, though. It costs Mana, which I assume is for Demi-God abilities or other magic I might obtain on my journey. Doom Sovereign seems pretty useful, too. Demi-God is just there to remind me how cool I am. Alright, let's get moving.

I started walking through the alley. Nobody was back here, thankfully. I didn't feel like getting mugged, or answering any questions. I found a bottle on the ground. Picked it up, cause why not. I might need to break it and cut someone, who knows. I figured it'd be a good opportunity to try out Analyze.

Empty Beer Bottle

"An empty bottle of Bud Light. Made of glass"

Common

So, I get a name, description, and rarity-type thing? Cool.

I took a turn and ended up on the sidewalk. Looking around, I saw several buildings all around me. Some were open, some weren't. There were people everywhere, on the sidewalk and street, cause it's New York, and the city never sleeps, or somethin'. It looked like early night, maybe 9 or 10 P.M. I started walking down the sidewalk, which was pretty crowded. I got some strange stares. Didn't know why until I looked down and saw I was basically wearing rags. How did I not notice that before? I look like a movie hobo, I'm wearing a brown cotton shirt with holes in it and shorts with rips all on the bottom. I mean, I look straight out of a shitty Hollywood movie. Plus, I'm carrying a damn beer bottle

I'm definitely a sight for sore eyes.

Ignoring the stares, I continued walking. I have no idea where I'm going, but I'll figure it out as I go. I wonder where I am in relation to the books? Since I'm 12, the same age Percy was when the books started, I'm assuming I'm around the time they start. Maybe a bit before or after. Anyway, I stopped walking as I spotted something interesting. A survival shop. Cool, might snag a machete or something. I walked in, a bell rang to signal my arrival, but I saw no cashier or cash register in sight. Maybe it was in the back? Good. Easier for me to steal shit. I browsed the aisles of the modestly sized store, careful not to put myself in the line of sight of the cashier. Fishing stuff, firestarters, rope, nets, all that jazz. Not what I need. Ah, here, machetes, tomahawks, and blades, all on the far left side of the store. Which was in direct line of sight of the cashier. Damn it. I'll just have to grab it and bolt. I hope my 12 year old body can run pretty damn fast.

I ran up to a particularly sharp looking machete in plastic wrapping and grabbed it, dropping my bottle, and promptly bolting out of the store.

"Hey, what- shit! Thief!" the cashier yelled and started chasing after me. I caught a glimpse of him. He looked kinda overweight, so I can probably outrun him. I started running down the sidewalk, machete in tow. I could hear him still yelling behind me, but he was getting further and further off. I started growing anxious as a few of the people on the streets started to take notice of me. I turned into an alley and kept running.

Several minutes of running later, and I was deep into a system of alleys and had no idea where the fuck I was, but I was away from people and that damn store clerk, so that's good. I laughed slightly as I took the machete out of its wrapping. It's sharp. Real sharp. Not too heavy either, so my relatively small body can wield it effectively. My thoughts were interrupted by the thudding of feet. I felt a weight in my chest as I got an alert.

Doom Sovereign has activated.

That's fucking worrisome. I turned to see not an overweight store clerk, but a very large, very angry looking dog with pitch black fur. A fucking hellhound? Already? How cliche. I analyzed it as it stalked towards me, roughly 70-ish feet away.

Lesser Hellhound

A demonic canine from the Fields of Punishment. Smaller in size than most of its brethren, and has much less muscle. You'll be fine. Probably.

How is it even out of the Fields of Punishment? And why did it only show up right after I got a viable weapon? Sounds like a shitty plot device to me. Whatever. I started backing up as it picked up its pace. It started frothing at the mouth and broke into a light jog. Fuck, it's getting closer. Uhhh, Doom Aura, activate!

I had no idea how to actually activate it, so I just thought and hoped. Sure enough, I felt a slight drain in my energy as the air around me became slightly thicker.

The hound stopped for a moment. I was hopeful. My hope was soon extinguished. It shook its head violently, and started sprinting at me.

I raised my machete in front of me. I'm either going to die or I'm going to butcher this hound, there is no inbetween. It reached me and lunged. I jumped back. It jumped forwards. It swiped at me, it gnashed its teeth, and eventually it had me up against a wall. Damn it. I figured it's now or never. I reared my arm back and slashed downwards. My blade hit air as the hound jumped to the side and leapt at me, jaw open wide.

You are now bleeding heavily. Your energy will be drained until this status effect is cured.

My thigh seared with pain as the mutt clamped its oversized maw onto my leg and started to thrash. A screen appeared in front of me, but I was too busy being mauled to read it. Fuck, shit! If I don't get this thing off of me I'm dead as fuck. I'm pretty sure Doom Aura de-activated, it's hard to exert dread when you're the one feeling it. I fell onto my back as the hound locked its jaw on me. It jerked back and forth, causing more and more damage to my leg.

Heavy bleeding has worsened into Arterial Bleeding. You will die unless you staunch the wound.

I swung my machete at it awkwardly. I swiped several times before, finally, I connected with its head. The blade embedded itself into the dog's thick skull, but didn't kill it.

It let go and howled. A machete to the cranium hurts, apparently. I couldn't get up, but I kept a death grip on my machete. I yanked it towards me, trying to pry it free, but just brought the hellhound closer. Oh well, it's not like it can bite me while it's busy dying. Jerking with all my might a second time, I managed to remove it, before swinging it back down into the hound's head once more. This time, it went through a sizable amount. The evil canine quit jerking about and slumped over on its side. Finally, the fucking mutt was dead. Several messages popped up.

Doom Aura has leveled up! It is now Level 2.

Doom Sovereign has leveled up! It is now Level 2.

Analyze has leveled up! It is now Level 2

Ah, cool. I finally read the other status messages, while lying in pain, that had been hovering over me. I guess they automatically get out of my way in combat, which is good. Let's see… arterial bleeding? Ah, shit. Well, I guess I'll just lay here and die. It was a fun time. It wasn't, I fucking lied, but it was interesting, I guess. Maybe I'll get reincarnated as a butterfly, or something. That'd be cool…

You have blacked out. You will likely die if you do not receive outside help.

xXx

I'd like to say that my eyes snapped open, or that I shot up into a sitting position, but I didn't. When I woke up, I kept my eyes closed and just layed there. My leg aches something awful, and my entire body feels like shit. Am I in purgatory? The beeping of a heartbeat monitor tells me no. I heard voices around me, but I couldn't understand them. Maybe I should just let myself fade back to sleep.

"His heartbeat is going up. I think he's awake." I finally made sense of one of the voices. It sounded masculine and professional. Slowly, I cracked my eyes open. I tried to speak, but it came out more as;

"Mmmmmffgnnnn…"

My eyes opened a bit more. To my right, I saw several people staring at me. Three, I think. Probably, I don't know, I'm probably high on painkillers right now or something.

"Well, I guess you were right." One said. Everything was blurry, but I could make out that this guy had black hair. Really black hair, actually. Cool. One was obviously female, with long blonde hair, and another looked to be a kid. The one I assume said I was awake was standing away from the other to my left.

The blonde one stepped up. "Hey there, can you understand me?"

I turned my head slightly to look her in the eyes. My vision started to clear and I could make out her features. Is that fucking Annabeth? Holy hell. She looks older than I imagined. I guess I'm pretty far in the story, then? And how did I get here?

"Yeah, yeah I… I can. Just gimme a minute…" I mumbled out. I was in a hospital bed, obviously. Was I in Camp Half-Blood? Probably. I looked to my right. There WAS a heartbeat monitor, I knew that beeping wasn't just me losing it. It was connected to me, though.

I raised the blankets I was under to find that I had new clothes on. A white T-Shirt and black basketball shorts. I sure hope nobody undressed me. That'd be kinda fucked up. But somebody had to have undressed me. I shivered.

I looked back at Annabeth. "Where am I?" I asked. It was a reasonable question. One second, I'm dying in an alley due to bleeding arteries. The next, I'm in a hospital bed in a medium sized medical shack.

She smiled and glanced back at the guy with black hair, which I reasonably assumed was Percy, then looked back at me. "You're at Camp Half-Blood. It's a place for people like you. People like us."

"You mean Demi-Gods?"

She blinked, shocked, but quickly recovered and nodded her head. "Uh- Yeah, Demi-Gods."

I nodded, then asked, "How did I get here?'

This time, the guy with black hair stepped up next to Annabeth. Yep, it's fucking Percy. Why they were here in the medical shack I didn't know, but they were here.

"One of our Satyrs found you in an alley with a bunch of golden dust around you. You were bleeding pretty bad. He patched you up and carried you back here." He said.

I raised an arm weakly and rubbed my face. "Shit… Satyr? Goat guys, right? I gotta find the one that saved me."

Annabeth looked as if she wanted to say something about my language, but Percy shot her a look. He looked back at me.

"Yeah, well, if you wanna thank someone, don't only thank him. Thank Will here, too. He's the one that runs the "hospital" around here." He pointed at the guy to my left.

Will simply waved his hand at me and I nodded my head. He's chill, I think. I pushed off the blankets on me and sat up. Percy and Annabeth backed up next to the kid I hadn't talked to yet and gave me some room. I let my legs hang from the bed and tried to get up. Surprisingly, I could walk pretty easily. I was just a little sore. I stretched, and popped my back and neck. I looked at Percy.

He smirked. "Well, kid. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood!"
