I'm going to say what ages all the Cullen children are pretending to be. I think it's kind of weird all of them other than Jasper are in the same grade, but I didn't know how not casually mention this in the story so yeah. Alice is 14, Edward is 15, Jasper and Rose and 16 and Emmet is 17. Which makes Bella and Alice freshman, Edward is a sophomore, Jaspers and Rose and junior and Emmet is a senior. Now to the story

Bella pov

Alice offered to drive me which was nice. They drive two cars to school even though they each have their own. She said so everyone is comfortable. So it was us and Rose and then the boys all rode together.

Alice also walked me to get my class schedule. And to my first class which we had together. It was art so it was pretty easy. Time flew by pretty quickly and I started opening up a lot to Alice. Simple things like I had a fear of needles. That I wasn't a fan of animals because of what happened when my dad got me a cat. My favorite color was purple.

She seemed really happy that I was telling her this. In the many foster homes I was at I never told the other kids or parents any of this. I don't know why I just feel safe here. Soon after the bell rang and we parted ways and I promised I'd be there at lunch.

Alice pov

After class, I took out my phone and called Carlisle. I had to tell him how much she is opening up. He was a bit mad about me calling when he was at work but understood why I did it.

Lunchtime

Bella pov

Alice spotted me and dragged me to their table. Soon the others arrived. I noticed right away a lot of the other kids stared at us.

"Don't worry about the staring, you'll get use to it" Jasper suddenly said

"We are known as the cool kids, we don't really like many others. We only really interact with each other which probably makes them stare more" Rosalie added

"But we liked you, don't worry about that" Alice said as if she knew I'd take it the wrong way.

I noticed the others didn't really eat their food, just nibbled a little. Of course, I ate mine.

The others told me how they ended up with Carlisle and Esme

Alice said that her father was abusive. Her mother tried her best to protect her and that took her life away. Soon after her father killed her mother she ran away and got help.

Edward said that his parents died of illness and had no other relatives. He started acting out after the fact and no one wanted him, but Carlisle saw that he just needed some support.

Emmet said his parents went camping and never returned. He waited a week until cps came and took him. He also acted out after that and needed some support a lot of fosters didn't give.

The twins said that their father was an alcoholic and their mother tried to escape with them. It was okay for a while. Until he found them at least. Their father beat their mother to death and then killed himself. They didn't act out but refused to be separated.

Then it was my turn to tell mine.

"I was abused since as long as I remember by both my parents. My mom died when I was around seven and after that, it got worse. I thought it was normal but then seeing happy smiling families pass by I questioned it. I asked a school counselor about it. Soon after my father, who was a cop was arrested. I was in and out of foster homes, they all thought I was hopeless"

They were all quiet for a second. I had some arms around me soon after. They all were so cold. I appreciated it anyway though.

"Bella, you are and always will be our family. Family doesn't need to be by blood, but who we choose" Rosalie said

The rest of the day went by quickly and soon enough we were home.

Alice pov

"Carlisle I need to talk to you, in the other room" I said knowing I was still in human earshot of Bella.

We walked out of the living room to the upstairs hallway.

"She's growing suspicious of us. I'm not sure if she already is or if it's just starting but I saw a vision of her questioning it on her bedroom floor in two days. What should we do"

"If we told her today, how would she react"

"I see two outcomes, when you tell her privately she has a neutral reaction. When we do it as a family she runs out"

"Okay I'll do that then"

"Thank you"

Carlisle pov

I go down to the living room, where everyone was hanging out.

"Bella can you come with me for a second"

She gets up and follows me. I take her to my study and ask her to sit.

"How was your first day of school"

"it was okay"

"I've seen that you are warming up to everyone"

"Yeah"

"Which also has made you a bit suspicious"

"What" she asked

"I hope I don't get a negative reaction but I feel like it's better to tell you off the back. We all are vampires. All of us. We don't drink human blood so you don't have to worry about that" I paused

"I know you questioned about the weird eye color. That's because we don't drink from humans but from animals. I also know you noticed that we didn't really eat and of how much Alice has hugged you probably noticed the cold skin"

"Why are you telling me this? I've only been here a day"

"Because you are family and I don't want to keep secrets from you."

"Are all the stories they told me lies then"

"Most of them are based on truth"

This is where I explained how Alice could see the future even in her human life. After her father killed her mother she was sent to an asylum. Eventually was saved, at the time electric chairs were still legal and she almost died from that

Then I explain Edward's parents did die of illness. I was treating them but so did he. I saved him because I promised his mother I would.

Emmet was attacked by a wild animal. That one was pretty simple.

Rosalie was beaten and assaulted and left in the street to die.

Jasper was turned by another vampire trying to start a war. He escaped and found his way here.

Also, I added they weren't really twins.

After all that she came up and hugged me, and I heard a soft "thank you"
