The next morning, Felix woke up and got changed into some of the clothes Purah bought for him. After putting on a brown tunic doublet and white trousers. He went to see Purah and Arch.
"Good morning Felix," greeted Purah when she saw him, "I see those clothes suit you nicely."
"They do don't they," agreed Felix, "Though it may take a while to get used to it." "By the way, I was wondering why you needed my cell phone yesterday."
"Well have a look," said Purah, showing Felix something that resembled the cell phone, "I managed to redesign it and make it work." "While examining it yesterday, "I learned that it can take pictures and show maps just like some devices I know of but unlike them, it can also be used to communicate with others." With something like that, I thought it would be great for Hyrule so I changed it into what you see now." "I call it the Hyrule Phone."
"So I'm able to use it in this world now," asked Felix.
"Indeed," answered Purah, "However, the communication part is lacking since there is only one existing right now." "So I decided to do what I should have done with the Purah Pad and make more for others to use." "The only problem is, I used the parts of its original form to make this one but if I just get the right parts, I can make more."
"Is that what you intend to do today Purah," asked Felix.
"Pretty much," answered Purah, "And I would like you to come with me." "No matter what, you're gonna be here for a while so you might as well get to know the town." "As for your ears being different, we'll just say a monster messed them up."
"Monsters exist here," asked a surprised and confused Felix.
"Yeah and tons of different kinds," explained Purah, "But don't worry, Hyrule is at peace these days and the armies of Hyrule handle any monsters that pose a threat." "Now we should have breakfast with Arch and then the three of us will get what I need for Hyrule Phones."
As suggested by Purah, she and Felix joined Arch and had breakfast. Afterwards, they left the house and went into town to buy the materials.
"Alright, first we are going to need gems and I mean all the types you can find so we can add elements to the Hyrule Phone," explained Purah.
"You usually don't need things that expensive Mother," said Arch, "Will it be ok?"
"I think it will be fine," said Purah, "Anyway, I believe the best place for us will be that gem and jewelry store that is owned and run by a Goron and a Gerudo who work together."
"You already told me the names but would you mind explaining more about Gorons and Gerudo," asked Felix.
"Well Gorons are people made of rock," explained Purah, "They can handle heat and fire better than the other races and eat only rocks." "The Gerudo is a female only race who usually live in the desert and are great at craft whether they are making jewelry, clothes, or even weapons."
Purah, Felix and Arch then arrived at the store and after waiting in line, it was their turn. Purah then picked each of the gems at the store and gave the Goron and the Gerudo running it a bunch of rupees."
"So that's what you use for money here," asked Felix.
"Yup," answered Purah, "They are called rupees and the color determines how much they're each worth."
As Felix, Purah and Arch were about to leave the store, they saw an unexpected scene. A man who seemed drunk was trying to talk to a hooded person who looked like they were troubled by the situation.
"Can you please just give me your rupees," asked the man to the hooded person, "I'm asking nicely."
"I keep telling you I can't," replied the hooded person.
Being reminded of events from New York, Felix decided to interfere and help.
"Can you please leave this person alone," asked Felix to the drunk man, "They're clearly not interested."
"Why don't you shut up and get out of here," replied the man.
Felix, knowing that he couldn't fight back, ended up grabbing the hooded person's hand and they both ran away. After a few minutes it seemed like they were safe.
"Thanks for helping me," thanked the hooded person, "I was unable to escape that myself." "But why did you decide to help me?"
"It's a habit," answered Felix referring to the fact he used to defend his friend, Drew, from bullies.
"I see," said the hooded person as they took off the hood revealing to be a girl about Felix's age, "Well it was brave of you to stand up for me and know when to run." "Who are you by the way?"
"I'm Felix," introduced Felix, "Mind if I ask who you are?"
"My name is Cynthia," introduced the girl, "By the way, I noticed you were with Purah." "What's your connection with her?"
"It's a long story," answered Felix.
"Felix, where are you," asked Purah in a shout that could be heard by Felix and Cynthia.
"I got to go now," said Cynthia as she put her hood back on, "I'll see you later Felix."
"I wonder what that was about," asked Felix to himself right before Purah and Arch showed up.
"That was a risky move Felix," said Purah, "If that man hadn't noticed and recognized me right after you ran away, he could have chased you."
"I'm sorry Purah," apologized Felix, "I just didn't know how else to help Cynthia."
"Wait did you say Cynthia," asked Purah.
"You know her," asked Felix.
"I'll tell you later," answered Purah, "For now we should get the rest of what we need to make Hyrule Phones."
After that, Felix, Purah and Arch returned to their shopping trip. During that time, Felix couldn't help but wonder about Cynthia.
