For the following week, Felix grew accustomed to his new routine with his fighting lessons getting longer and tougher each day. Sometimes he would get more visits from Cynthia and they would usually talk about all kinds of things. On the morning of the seventh day since his training started, he received a visit from Carlina.
"Felix," said Carlina, "His Majesty wishes to see you about something." "He's waiting in the study used by both him and the Queen.
"I wonder what this could be about," thought Felix right after Carlina told him.
After going through the castle to the royal study, Felix found Link just as Carlina said.
"Ah Felix, good to see you," said Link.
"Is there a reason you wanted to see me, Your Majesty," asked Felix.
"Well you see," started Link, "I've received reports about a base filled with Bokoblins and Lizalfos and it's believed that it could be a threat."
"Are Bokoblins and Lizalfos monsters of this world," asked Felix.
"That they are," answered Link, "They're among the most common kinds but they are still tough." "I'll be sending a small team of knights to handle them and I would like you to accompany them."
"Is that a good idea," asked Felix, "I've only been learning how to fight for a week."
"I was told by General Garry that you are learning faster and more effectively than most knights and I think you could be ready for this mission," explained Link, "Besides, I would like you to use your Hyrule Phone to contact me about the result onced the battle ends."
"I understand," said Felix even though he felt fear of what he'll be up against.
"Good," said Link, "Now you'll need to go to the knight's hall to change into some suitable armor and then join with Captain Rhory, who will be leading the team."
As instructed by Link, Felix went to the knights hall where he changed into a set of armor that fit him well and a helmet that he thought was needed.
"Are you Felix," asked someone who surprised Felix right after he put his armor on, "Oh sorry about startling you, I'm Rhory, Captain of the team that will attack the monster base."
"I see," said Felix, "Well it's nice to meet you."
"Likewise," said Rhory, "To be honest, "I don't know if having a rookie on this mission is the best idea but I won't doubt the King with this.
"In all honesty, I'm a little nervous about this," admitted Felix, "I've never fought a monster before."
"Well we all start somewhere," said Rhory, "Now let's meet with the rest of the team and get to the base."
Felix and Rhory then met the other knights who were chosen for the mission and they left Hyrule Castle and headed west. After a few hours, the team found the base on a hill and hid somewhere nearby to examine.
"It appears that there are more Bokoblins and Lizalfos then expected," said Rhory after looking carefully on the base, "And they have a Moblin." "We'll need to attack carefully."
"I think I saw some bomb barrels," said one of the knights, "Why don't we launch fire at them to start the attack?"
"I think we'll do that," agreed Rhory.
After the plan was made, some knights who had bows lit the arrows they were using with fire and shot them at the bomb barrels which caused them to explode and hurt the monsters. After that, Rhory, Felix, and the rest of the team drew their weapons and charged at the base. Once in the base, Felix was quickly noticed by two Bokoblins and when they tried to attack him, he surprisingly took them down with ease. Right after that, Felix ended up fighting a Lizalfos and he ended up defeating it too. After that Felix looked at his allies and saw that most of them were doing well. However three of the knights were struggling because they were up against the Moblin so Felix decided to help them by running at full speed and tackling it. Once the Moblin was on the ground, Felix quickly recovered from the tackle he just did and struck the Moblin with his sword.
"Thanks for the assist," thanked one of the three knights, "I'm surprised you handled the Moblin like that."
"I'm surprised too," admitted Felix, "I only thought of helping you because you were in trouble and next thing I knew, I killed the Moblin."
After more Bokoblins and Lizalfos were slain by Felix and the others, the battle ended with no one from the team hurt and the few surviving monsters fleeing in fear. Felix then got out his Hyrule Phone and called Link to tell him the result.
"Hello Felix," said Link once he answered the call, "I take it the base is down?"
"It is," answered Felix, "The battle was tougher than expected but no one on our side got hurt." "The Bokoblins and Lizalfos also had a Moblin with them which I was somehow able to take down."
"So you're already a Moblin slayer," said Link, "That's great." "Anyway, It's time for you and the others to return to the castle." "Good job on you first battle."
Once the call ended, the team headed back to the castle and during that time Rhory was talking to Felix.
"I guess I shouldn't have doubted things after all," said Rhory to Felix, "I saw how you handled the Moblin and it was impressive."
"I guess so," said Felix, "I actually ended up tackling the Moblin because I once saw someone do something like that elsewhere."
By the time the team made it back to the castle, the sun was setting so everyone went to their evening routines. At the time, Felix couldn't stop thinking about his first battle and wondered what it would be like when he does it again.
