Hello Loves, it has been awhile I haven't had the energy or time to write for some time. This story is going to be way non canon and I do not care, lol. If that bothers you turn around now or proceed at your own risk.

Hermione Granger always knew that she was different for everyone else, it was proven time again and again. She never felt like that she belonged with people her age, they seemed dimwitted and slow, and honestly it bugged the ever living hell out of her. It didn't seem like it was asking too much to be able to hold a conversation that didn't involve the words Quidditch or the lastest fashion. And it certainly didn't help her social life being stuck at Hogwarts all year long as the Transfiguration professor. Now don't get it wrong, Hermione dated, she wasn't the hermit that everyone made her out to be. It just was that she was looking for a meaning connection and the boys, and she means boys, her age just were not cutting it.

"It doesn't seem like I am asking for too much does it?" Hermione asked her mentor and close friend Headmistress Minerva McGonagall.

Minerva who was just trying to enjoy her morning cup of coffee and a piece of toast. "I don't believe so dearie, you'll eventually find someone who can keep up with your conversations." Minerva gave the reply that she has given Hermione multiple times.

"I just want someone who understands that life does not need to revolve around the latest broom or the newest and hottest club. Where is that man?" Hermione huffed as she poured her second cup of tea since she had arrived to the dining hall.

At that time Severus Snape who survived Nagini's bite and venom, swept into the hall in his usual dramatic fashion. Since the war Snape mellowed out but still had the perchance and flair that came along with being in Slytherin. Hermione is 90% certain, after being his student and now working with him, that he has a charm enwoven into his cloak. Snape is in the same boat as Hermione and is still single and lonely. And on top of his wonderful luck, he is still teaching potions, although that was of his own volition, he wasn't taken the chance of the DADA positon still being cursed. There is no point in being the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, if he was going to die after a year, since he already came back from the dead once he was not doing it again.

Minerva was sipping her coffee and staring at her two best professors, who were staring at each other. She knew deep in her old, romantic heart that those two stubborn people were deeply in love with each other and no one else would ever measure up. Severus last Christmas might have confessed that exact wording to Minerva over their yearly "Let's get drunk and forget Albus" night of drinking. And since then she has listened to both Hermione and Severus whine to her that the other is not paying them proper attention. Now Minerva in all her years, was not going to break Severus's trust and just grab Hermione by the shoulders and shake the sense into her that Severus is deeply in love with her and to just go to him.

"You know, my darling girl, maybe you should give Severus a chance. You both have a lot in common and I know for certain he knows how to talk about more than Quidditch." Minerva said as eyed Severus making his way over to his seat next to Hermione.

"Can we not talk about this right now, he is literally headed this way." Hermione manically replied as she watched Severus come closer and closer. She did NOT want him to over hear this conversation and figure out about the ridiculous crush that she has on one Professor Severus Snape. If Hermione was being totally honest, it was more than a crush and she knew that. It was started when she was in her first potions class of her life and then she heard the voice that came out of that man. Now it was totally cute and innocent when she was young and naïve, but since she is now twenty-six, it was not a school girl crush anymore. Severus Snape was the wholly reason that Hermione could not find a man that made her happy and content, not when she worked with, who she was certain, the love of her life.

"Good morning ladies, how are we doing this morning?" Came the silky voice, which somehow was not affected by the snake, which is a mystery in itself.

"Doing just fine, my boy, and how was the dungeon?" Minerva asked as she started to butter another piece of toast.

"Nothing out of the usual, Peeves still up to his usual antics. My poor first year snakes are scared to come out the common room lately." Severus said as he sat down next to Hermione. He reached over to grab the teapot from beside Hermione and "accidentally" brushed up against' Hermione's arm in the process. At this point of time Severus was doing to watch her blush, he loves the light pink that graces Hermione's cheek anytime they make contact.

Minerva loved both Hermione and Severus like her own children, but she was getting tired of dealing with their bullshit, and let's be honest she doesn't have the patience for scheming like Albus did. Which is why she set her coffee cup down and turned to look at both Hermione and Severus and said. "I love you both, but it is time for you two to get your heads out of your arse. Severus take Hermione on a date, Merlin knows both of you want to. I can no longer take this game that the two of you have going on." Minerva felt a huge weight had been lifted off of her shoulders, so she decided to leave the table and adjourn to her office and pray that these two idiots actually talk it out and fall in love.

Now the light pink blush that was on Hermione's face transformed into a deep scarlet red as she let her hair fall and cover her face. She just couldn't believe that Minerva, her closest mentor/friend/confidant, would do that to her.

Meanwhile Severus, who was glad that Minerva confirmed his suspicion that Hermione liked him back, turned to look at Hermione and said.

"What do you think? Do you think that we should do what she wants? I know I have liked you for some time, but I never in a million years would dream that you would want to be seen with me in public."

"How can you think that?" Hermione asked as she had a worried look on her face.

"I am, sorry was, a Death eater. Plus your friends never were a fan of me." Severus shrugged as he turned away from Hermione and looked down at the empty plate in front of him.

"If you think that little of me that I care what Ron and Harry think, considering I never hear from them anymore, maybe we shouldn't go." Hermione said as she stood up and set down her napkin. She honestly thought Severus knew that Harry and Ron did not speak to her anymore, especially since it did not work out between her and Ron. Hermione tried to explain to Harry that she came home one night to surprise Ron and was surprised to find him in bed with another witch. Harry chose to believe Ron and not her and since then she hasn't spoken to the man who she once thought of as her brother.

Hermione started to walk away from the heads' table with tears in her eyes, she was just hoping she made it back to her quarters before any of the students saw her.

Severus just sat dumbfounded by what just happened, he thought he was just being polite and warning her that people might stare at them in public. He didn't mean to make her sad and it hurt him. Standing from the table he quickly followed Hermione out of the Great Hall hoping to make things right between them.

I am going to end the chapter right there, if you guys like it let me know. I haven't wrote anything for a LOOOOOOONNNNGGG time and I know that it shows. If this plot seems stupid let me know and I'll delete the story.
