We portaled to where Magnus found a magical signature of Clary to find ourselves in the middle of a snow storm. To say we weren't prepared was an understatement as I was in my pjs with my bow but Magnus quickly changed that and I magically found myself in all my gear that was sitting in a pile by his couch. I found my witch stone next to my seraph blades and pulled it out. There wasn't much to see in this cold outside of how different Magnus looked bundled up in a puffy jacket with snow pants, mittens and face goggles. But then I saw it, a chunk in the snow that looked different and upon a closer look I could see boot prints. The pile of disturbed snow looked like someone fell, Clary fell. Was there something of hers that she had dropped, was it a clue? I started searching and quickly found a few strands of her long hair. I immediately tried tracking it again but I couldn't find her again. It was like she disappeared as soon as we arrived.
"Alec" Magnus said, coming closer after I kicked some snow with my boot.
"She was just here, I know it but she's gone, like someone or something snatched her just as we portaled" I said in anger as I searched the skies. "Let's follow the footprints quickly then" Magnus said as he started trudging through the snow following Clary's footprints. I didn't think they would go anywhere, if I couldn't even feel her then she was gone again. As I suspected after freezing our butts off, it led to nowhere, an empty clearing in the dense forest.
"There's nothing here… except, there was magic used here, dark magic but magic nonetheless" Magnus murmured.
"Can you track what ever was here, where it moved to?" I asked while trying to hold my hope back.
After a minute and seeing Magus strain his powers, he gasped out a no which dashed my hope to the snow. We portaled back to his loft, hopes scattered and I collapsed onto the couch in dismay. With a click of his fingers I was back in my pajamas and he was heading back to his room where he started pulling out ingredients. I guess we weren't sleeping tonight again. I pulled my phone off of the table and ordered pizza with some coffee.
