The trailer starts with white text appearing, reading "For many years, the exciting books of two authors... H.G. Wells and Jules Verne have stimulated the imagination of mankind!"

We see explosions occur.

Narrator: Such stories as H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds and Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea have challenged mankind. So, today, man is successfully probing into the mystery of the universe. Can he penetrate the great mystery of all? Time itself. White text appears, reading "Now, the screen reveals the supreme excitement of adventuring into the future as H.G. Wells predicted in The Time Machine!". With the creative magic of George Pal and the fabulous production of Metro-Goldwyn Mayer to catapult you through time into a world that is yet to be. Our main character, H. George Wells (H.G. Wells) lands on the ground as the scene transitions to earlier in the film.

George: Why is it that we usually ignore the fourth dimension? You see, we can move at the other speed, as the doctors said, hop down, backwards, sideways, but when it comes to time, we are prisoners.

Narrator: Explore Rod Taylor's breakthrough into the realm of the fourth dimension as defied by his friend Alan Young.

David Filby: If that machine did what you said, doc, destroy it George before it destroys you.

"Aw, The Time Machine. You know it was my inspiration to build the DeLorean." Doc said.

"I figured." Marty said.

Narrator: Every moment is a year. Perfect through the atomic wars of the future on an incredible excursion into the unknown. What are the people like? We see a female, Weena. Ah! The shape of things to come. It's lovely, inventive, and completely anew and what happens when boy meets girl thousands of years advance?

Weena: How do they get their hair?

George: Who?

Weena: The women of your time.

George: Up like that.

Weena: Show me.

George moves her hair.

Narrator: Is this the human race of the future? Or is this, the Morlocks, fiendish creatures who live in a weird, underground world? And the Eloi, the tranquiled sunshine people. With the Morlocks dominating and maintaining like cattle, luring them below with the hypnotic whale of the Sirens, to feed upon them, a cannibalistic horror. We see George whip the Morlocks as firewood is shown, it cuts back to George whipping the Morlocks as a Morlock is seen on fire. White text appears, readings "Thrills you've never seen before imagined! See thousands of years ahead of your time! Join: Rod Taylor, Alan Taylor, Yvette Mimieux, Sebastian Cabot, Tom Helmore. Aboard H.G. Wells' The Time Machine (In Futuristic MetroColor)." End of trailer.
