CHAPTER 1: Meeting
The little girl ran desperately through the Palamecia Empire, trying to get away from the Emperor. She felt like he was always chasing her, like a vulture hovering above its prey. The fear and panic of what would happen if he caught her made her feet move faster and faster.
Finally, the little girl was running out of breath. She looked around frantically for a place to hide. Finally, she spotted a large tree just a few feet away from her. She darted towards it, and just as she got there, the sound of hoof beats grew closer. The little girl quickly hid behind the tree, hoping that the Emperor would pass by without noticing her.
She held her breath, not daring to move. After what seemed like an eternity, the emperor's horse eventually passed by without stopping. Once he'd gone, the little girl sighed with relief. She was safe, for the moment, but she knew she couldn't stay there long.
She looked around her, searching for somewhere else to hide. That's when she spotted him. A tall, dark figure dressed in leather and armed with blades. He had an air of confidence and danger about him. As their eyes locked, the little girl felt a strange connection form between them. She knew in her heart that this man would help her.
The man and the little girl stood in silence for a few moments, and then, slowly, he smiled.
"What's your name, little one?" he asked.
The little girl smiled back nervously, relieved to have finally found someone who could help her. "My name is Chloe," she responded.
The man nodded. "Well, Chloe, let's get you somewhere safe." He held out his hand and, without hesitating, Chloe took it.
And with that, their fateful meeting began.
