Ladybug wiped her damp forehead as she scanned the city skyline. It was a hot day in Paris, and she would do just about anything for a cool drink. Well, she lived at a bakery. Maybe Mama and Papa had some lemonade. She was about to zip away on her yo-yo when her bug phone rang. Cat.

Ladybug was still getting used to her feline companion, but it was nice to have a friend to talk to. "Hello, My Little Watermelon," his voice came through the phone. "Kitty, we've been over this. I'm a ladybug!" "Yes, but I actually have a watermelon, and I thought you might want to share a piece?" Ladybug chewed on her lip. She was hungry and thirsty, and would be good to hang out. "All right. Where are you?" "Top of Notre Dame. See you soon, Bugaboo!" Ladybug smiled as she hung up. She wouldn't admit it, but she liked being called Bugaboo. It was one of his special names for her, and it made her feel special, unlike when she was just her civilian self.

"There you are!" Cat's face lit up when she touched down on the roof. Cat had picked a shady spot and Ladybug sat down beside him. She accepted her slice of melon gratefully. "A nice refreshing treat on a hot day." "What would you be doing if not hanging out with me?" she asked, biting into her melon. Oh, it was cold and sweet and so delicious! "Napping," came the reply, and Ladybug snorted. "I thought you might have been practicing your puns." "No, that comes after napping, but I much rather hang out with you. Your my best friend."

His best friend? She'd never had one of those before. "Really?" "Yeah, your sweet and smart and a good listener. Plus, that little angry pout is adorable." "I don't pout!" "Yes, see your doing it right now!" "Well, your not bad yourself, for a fur ball." "So, you do care for me." "Of course I do! Your-" Ladybug cleared her throat. "Special to me." "As in you like me?" "My lips are sealed." "I can live with that." Cat finished his melon the same time she did, and a little smile grew on his face. "What?" Ladybug asked. "You've got juice all your chin. Here, I'll clean it up." Ladybug tried not blush, but failed miserably. "Thanks for the treat, Cat." "Its always a treat to hang out with you." "I should get going."

"I'll see you later on for patrol?" "Yeah." Ladybug knew she should swing away, but couldn't move her feet. "And Cat?" "Hm?" "Maybe being a watermelon isn't that bad. After all, you did say I was sweet."

Zipping away, Ladybug smiled. Watermelon. Yeah, she could get used to it. Someday.
