A/N: Hello. I got this idea watching Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide LOL. Unlike my main fic, I don't have a lot planned for this but I wanted to write it for two reasons. One: I need practice writing uh, sussy, UWU material. And this is the place to do it. And two: As I was reading through the Wiki I realized that while Naruto and DxD crossovers may be popular for the BOOBIES the world and lore actually blend incredibly well, and ideas just kept popping into my head one after the next. Chakra. Senjutsu. Etc. So here we are!
*Typical warnings for a rated M fic apply. Character Death. Language. Blood. Gore. Sexual themes. Etc. I've also altered ages and appearances and stuff a little so you could consider this slightly AU. Idk, better safe than sorry.
*My views and beliefs are not reflected in anything I write. Especially any Religious themes in this story. It's all just for fun and the sake of a (hopefully) good time. Enjoy!
Through The Looking Glass
"Do you think there's a God, Naruto?"
She looked at him with wide, innocent eyes. Waiting for his response. To which he had none. He remained silent, unsure of how to answer her question. "Hm. That's tough." Back home, there were gods. Gods of death and war. In this world, there were gods. So many that he could seldom name them all. But one grand, singular God? Someone or something that ruled the destinies of everything else. A maker? He didn't know if such a thing existed. Here, or anywhere.
"I guess it is." She laughed, and the sound made him smile. As light as a feather and like sweet music in your ears. It had been a long time since he had heard so much joy in someone's laugh. "We probably look so strange right now. A girl and a guy sitting side by side at a park on a day like this. M-Maybe people will think we're together."
Naruto Uzumaki felt his smile widen. "We look more like we're related." She reached over and pinched his cheeks, pulling at them. Her eyebrows knitted and her lips pouted. "I'mshowy! I'mshowy! Ididn'tmeenit!"
"Hmph! You always know what to say, don't you?"
"Asia! It was just a joke. I'm joking! Just like you were!" Her emerald eyes narrowed; she didn't seem convinced. "Sheesh. I didn't know being related to me would be such a bad thing."
In that instant, her expression did a one-eighty. "N-No! That's not what I meant!"
Naruto grinned and snapped the popsicle in his hand in two. Handing her one. She took the chilled treat and gladly stuck it in her mouth. Kicking her feet in delight. He did the same, shutting his eyes and savoring the taste. They've done this every day for a month now. It had become their own little tradition.
"I know. I know." He took it out of his mouth and flashed a color-smudged tongue, cracking a single eye open. "It's not like I'm wrong. Besides, we're the same in every way."
Asia bit down on half of her ice cream and flinched, struggling to get it down her throat.
"Whoa. Calm down, dummy. You're going to give yourself a brain freeze."
She didn't seem to care. "W-We are not the same! Both of us are blonde, and that's about it! And even our hair color is different. Not to mention— "She went on. The birds chirped above them, unaware of their fierce debate. He couldn't help but keep a grin on his face as he watched her argue her point. She would never know how much he cherished these plain evenings. It was as close to home as he could get at the moment. But he knew that someday he would return and create more beautiful memories. So instead, he would enjoy their time together now.
'Kurama may be asleep, but I don't need him to know you're a good person.'
Their meeting was an accident. Or, if there is a God, maybe it was fate. Either way, he was grateful for the chance to know her. She was the kindest soul he'd met in a very long time.
"Hey! Are you even listening to me?" Asia asked, her lips pressing into a thin line. She sounded disappointed. Hurt by his lack of response.
"No." He admitted it, his broad grin turning apologetic. "My bad. I zoned out." It wasn't his fault, at least not entirely.
Today was different. She didn't know, but he did. He assumed it would come to this point eventually. It didn't make it sting any less. Truth be told, Naruto didn't think he would miss much about this bizarre place, aside from the food, but she was someone he would miss dearly.
Asia Argento. A nun. Devotee and follower of the religion known to the world as Christianity. Its followers believed in a God. Singular. And that God was real, but He was one among many. In this world, they were all real.
"What's on your mind, then?"
"Nothing. I just wish this could last forever."
Crimson tinged her cheeks, and he couldn't stifle his laugh. Sometimes, she was too easy. But deep down, he hoped she knew that he meant every word. His time in this world has been less than peaceful so far. At the very least, he was fighting for the good guys, however messy it may be. It's not like he had much of a choice. This wasn't his home. He had to get back. And after what Chow-Chow said, it was only a matter of time.
'Was that his name? Ugh. There's so much to remember.'
Asia huffed, her cheeks blowing out. "Y-You still haven't told me what you think."
Naruto sat back on the same hard wooden bench they'd adopted for weeks now, putting both arms behind his head. Watching the sunset. Violet and red fluffy clouds took up the sky, drifting without a care. A thoughtful hum left him, and she leaned in, her eyes broad. She nodded her head, her beautiful golden hair bouncing, and her rosy lips turned up with a smile, showing her dimples. "Maybe next time, Asia," he said.
"You can't do that!" She jumped and pointed a finished popsicle stick at him. The birds in the giant tree behind them flew away. At the same time, a strong gust of wind blew. It rustled through her hair, making it dance, and pushed the long, dark cloak she wore against her slim frame.
"I-I can and I will." He turned his head away, but not for the same reason she probably thought he did. 'I am not like Pervy Sage. I am not like Pervy Sage.' He recited the mantra in his mind.
"That's not fair, Naruto!" She protested, her voice filled with frustration.
"Life isn't fair." He pushed up from the bench and stood upright, stretching his arms and cracking his neck. "It's getting late, anyway. I'll walk you back to your church if you want. I've got something to do later, but I've still got some time to kill. Let's go before it gets dark."
"A-Ah. It's okay... I can walk back by myself."
Naruto blinked a few times. "Oh. Okay." He then flashed a reassuring smile. "Tomorrow, then?"
Asia cocked her head and chewed at her bottom lip. "Tomorrow sounds good," she replied while fidgeting in place. Her eyes met anything but his own. She seemed nervous all of a sudden. Was it him that made her hesitate? Was he not paying as much attention as he should have been? Did he miss something important? "Y-Yes." She nodded to herself. "Tomorrow. G-Goodnight, Naruto!"
He saw her fade into the crowd after waving goodbye, watching her disappear. Naruto couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. He wondered if there was something bothering her that she wasn't sharing. Maybe he should have asked if everything was alright before she left. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. 'I can't think about that right now. I have a mission to complete.'
Naruto sat on that bench until the sun had set below the horizon and the glow of the city drowned out the stars. The odd person walked by. He'd smile and wave, and sometimes they did the same. It was peaceful. This tranquility, however, was doomed to end. He reached into his left pocket and pulled out a small, creased piece of paper. Unfolding it, he read the mission's details again. Taking a deep breath, he readied himself for what lay ahead.
'Time to work.'

Vali Lucifer prided himself on many things. Himself, primarily. A descendant of the Greatest Satan, the original Lucifer. Chosen by the White Dragon Emperor, Albion. The sole wielder of the Divine Dividing. A power so great it could bring gods and devils to their knees. His lineage and his Sacred Gear made him a force to be reckoned with. He was formidable. He was unbeatable. And he was rightly confused.
"Who the fuck are you?"
A man stood across from Vali. He had blonde hair and blue eyes and was wearing an open orange jacket with a fishnet shirt underneath and straight blue jeans. His arms were at his sides, and he stood rather awkwardly. A sheepish grin on his sun-kissed features. He was not an angel from Heaven. Neither was he a devil. He was not a mythical being or some strange creature. Vali would have noticed any of these things. No, this was a human. And yet somehow, this ordinary man had infiltrated Azazel's Manor. He must have learned Azazel was away. But why was he here? How did he get through the defenses? The seals and barriers? Why didn't Vali sense him on arrival?
"Oh! Crap. My bad. I'm Naruto Uzumaki. Nice to meet you!" He extended an arm as if to shake hands, and then realized that Vali was too far away from him to take it. "Oof. That's embarrassing. Ha. I'm not good at these things. I even told them that they sent the wrong guy. Oh well, I guess I'll just do my best!" Naruto shrugged his shoulders. "You wouldn't happen to be named, uh, one second." He reached into his pocket and picked out a piece of paper, his eyes narrowing as they slid across the words. "Vali Lucifer?"
"Boy." Vali heard the booming shout of Albion within his mind. "Keep your distance." His heart skipped a beat at the warning. The urgency in the Albion's voice sent a cold shiver down Vali's spine.
'What do you mean?' Vali asked, his thoughts echoing.
The response was swift and filled with a sense of foreboding.
"He is dangerous."
Vali pursed his lips. "I am. What do you want with me?"
"I don't want anything. But some, er, friends of mine would like to have a little chat. And they sent me here to make sure you got the message."
He raised a thin, silver brow. "And just what is this message?"
Naruto aimed a finger at him. "The message is that YOU, Vali Lucifer, are invited! See, we're forming a team for a super specific, super dangerous assignment, and you're invited to join us! My boss wants you and your Divine Division or whatever. I'm not sure what that last part means, but that's about it. So what do you say?"
They faced each other down the corridor that led back to his room. This Naruto is well informed. Had Vali not met him here and now, he would have been waiting for him when he got back. 'I never thought grabbing a snack might save my life.' His thoughts scrambled. A sign from Albion was not to be taken lightly. It wasn't every day that the Vanishing Heavenly White Dragon spoke to him, let alone issued a warning. Against a human, no less. And a face and name he'd never seen or heard before. Vali felt his body tense. The ancient blood coursing through his veins grew hot.
"And just what exactly is that assignment you speak of?"
Naruto snickered. It was then that Vali noticed the unique markings on his cheeks. Three thick lines on each side. Not paint, scars, or even tattoos. They seemed more like birthmarks. And how his eyes creased up and his wide, fanged grin wrinkled his cheeks made Vali think this man very much reminded him of something. An animal.
"Ah ah. I can't tell you everything now, can I? To be honest, they don't even tell me everything. I'm pretty confused half the time. But if you come with me and join up, though, you just might find out."
Vali measured those words. Taking a moment to reflect on them.
"Divine Dividing."
Naruto titled his head. "Huh?"
"The name of my Sacred Gear. The power I possess. What your group is likely interested in. It's the strongest thing there is. Just one of my many abilities is halving the power of my opponent and adding it to my own. I can do it willingly or set it on autopilot. Meaning that every ten seconds, I can keep taking until there's nothing left." Vali told. He took a few cautious steps, his footsteps echoing in the silence, and approached the confused outsider. He then presented his hand. "Would you like a demonstration? Of course. You might die."
Somehow. It did not surprise him when Naruto took his palm into a firm grip and grinned.
"Sure!"
His eyes flashed. "Very well. Behold!" Great wings unfurled from Vali's back. They opened and spread wide, and the surrounding air seemed to vibrate with energy. An otherworldly presence filled the room as Vali's wings shimmered, the feathers emitting a soft, radiant glow. Each one seemed to come alive with an ethereal light, casting intricate patterns on the walls.
Naruto's eyes bulged. It was evident that this was a new and extraordinary experience for him. He was no doubt eager to witness the demonstration that Vali had promised.
"Now, kneel."
A pulse reverberated.
"Fool."
Vali felt he was no longer inside the Manor. He felt he was in a different realm altogether. He stood in thin air over an endless expanse. Underneath him, an ocean churned. Its waters are murky and impenetrable. Stretching as far as the eye could see, and even further. He strained his eyes and felt that this bottomless depth had no end. His heart raced. He took in the astonishing sight before him. The power and sheer magnitude of the realm he found himself in were unlike anything he had ever experienced. He couldn't help but feel a mix of awe and trepidation as he stood suspended above the seemingly infinite abyss.
He fell.
Quick and without warning.
The icy water hit him, knocking the breath out of his lungs. His sight was gone. He thrashed about, desperate for air. Terrified. Screaming for Albion's help. For his mother's help. He was suffocating. Drowning. Sinking. His chest was about to explode, and his ears were going to burst. He was going to die!
"Hey, man. Are you alright?"
Vali's eyes snapped open. He gasped, relieved to find himself still alive. "H-Huh?" He stammered, unable to comprehend what had just happened. "Yeah." He was holding on to Naruto's hand for dear life, and the blonde seemed genuinely concerned for his safety, which came as a surprise to him. Vali slowly released his grip, realizing that he had been in the midst of a panic attack. He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself and regain control of his frantic thoughts. There he realized that, to his tremendous astonishment, it was he who had been brought to his knees.
He gawked at the man—a human—standing above him.
'What?
What kind of monster is this?'
"Naruto Uzumaki..." Vali repeated the name. "Tell me, in your group, are there others as formidable as you?" He asked, rising to his full height.
The slightest smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Well, sure. That's the whole point. We're going to be fighting some really strong people. So we're only recruiting the strongest!"
Vali cracked a grin. It's so exciting! Right when he was feeling the boredom setting in. He could finally show off his strength! And take the initial steps toward exacting his vengeance. "Okay. I'll come with you. The old man won't be back for another few days, and I'm free to leave whenever. He won't notice."
"Awesome! Sheesh. That was easier than I expected. A handshake and a friendly talk! And they told me you were a battle hungry maniac!" Naruto laughed, clapping Vali's shoulder. "It just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover."
Naruto had no clue. In his eyes, nothing happened. But Vali was no fool. The moment he tried to take in even a fraction of this man's power. He knew he was completely outclassed, at least for now.
"Oh. I want to fight you." Vali said, "And I will beat you."
Another toothy grin. "That's the spirit! We can spar anytime!" Naruto responded, clearly finding Vali's decision amusing. "I really thought this would take a little longer. A big, flashy spectacle, I don't know. We don't have to be anywhere, anytime soon, and it's not like I can just call a meeting or anything. You, um, maybe want to get some noodles or something? My treat?"
For the first time in a very long time, Vali Lucifer felt a glimmer of bemusement. "You are a strange man. Fine, let's go." Unbeknownst to his newest associate, noodles were, in fact, his biggest weakness.
"Alright! How about we just split the bill, then?" Naruto pulled out a small, frog shaped purse from a pouch attached to his hip and shook it. Scratching his face with a weak smile. "Gama-chan is on a bit of a diet."
"A very strange man..."
A/N: That's it! Teased a few things here and there, set up some future plots. Got you asking some questions hopefully. I'd like to write more but I don't know a damn thing about DxD besides what all I picked up from the fics I read when I was younger, what some friends tell me, and the Wiki. If anyone is like a supreme DxD expert, DM me. Please. I'd like to run some things by you XD.
