"The team coming is officially known as the Sunnydale Protectors Pack. The team leader is Alexander Harris-Chase, his wife Cordelia Harris-Chase co-leads. As said I said before, they're also bringing their daughter with, she's a little over a year old, I believe. The other team members are Tor and Heidi Hauer, Kyle and Rhonda Defours and Faith Lehane. Ms. Lehane's augmentation was apparently less successful then the others. Consequently, she isn't as strong as they are. As I understand it though, they're all stronger than Jaffa. The others coming with are the team medic, as they have specific medical needs and a research assistant. Their names are Jesse McNally and Willow Rosenberg, respectively. They are all 22 years old. The oldest turned 22 last October. The most recent one in February, just two months ago. They're mainly coming here to get a feel for our operation and the Gou'ld, in case it's ever necessary for them to be called to assist us. The President is concerned that whatever caused these rifts in the first place, may also be an issue on other planets. Which would mean these things that come through, might come through on other worlds too. So, he wants us to be prepared for the possibility. We're to show them every courtesy and they will be going through the gate at least once."
"Dr. Fraser, you will be allowed to examine them, but will not be allowed to take blood or tissue samples. Be aware, a rogue NID project that the President had shut down two years ago, kidnapped two of these kids, Tor and Heidi Hauer and experimented on them. No details were given to me about it. Whether they tell you anything about it is up to them."
"They're actions were considered treasonous, as they included an attempt to control and militarize some of these creatures. Since WW II, there's been a treaty in place, that no signer will engaged in such actions."
"I have yet to hear of the NID actually doing smart black projects. This one sounds even stupider than their usual ones." O'Neill said. "Also, kidnapping seems to be a favorite of theirs."
"I'd have to agree with you, Colonel. They'll be here in about an hour. Dismissed."
Meanwhile, Xander was briefing his own people as they were enroute to Colorado.
"So the President wants us to be very careful what we say to these people. They're only to know a limited amount of information about what we do or how we're made. No mention of Magic, of being Bonded to animal souls or demons or vampires. Or Hellmouths. We are to refer the them as dimensional invaders, dimensional rifts and the process that made us Protectors as being augmented. We are also not to tell them Faith is a Slayer. We're to tell them her augmentation was somewhat less successful. The purpose of this visit is to be comfortable with the people, the Command and traveling through this Stargate, in case any dimensional rifts or dimensional invaders are found on other planets and we get called in to assist them."
"Jesse, their own regulations require that all visitors be given a medical exam. I've made it clear, and the President agreed, no blood or tissue samples and medical procedures unless you approve, baring an emergency. I want you to talk to their doctor, I believe her name is Fraser and make sure she understands that. Nothing without your approval. If they question it, have them call the the President. I understand they have a direct line to him."
Jesse nodded.
"Any questions?"
"Will we be going through this Stargate?" Willow asked excitedly.
"At least once, from what I've been told. So we understand it and are sure we can handle it. If we can't another Protectors Pack will be called to help instead. Unless no Protectors are able to handle it. I honestly have no idea how our Bonded souls are going to deal with it. Or how we'll react to a Gou'ld or Jaffa. Although, apparently there's a Jaffa stationed on base. He's a member of the Free Jaffa, the ones in rebellion against these Gou'ld."
"Boss, I was wondering. Why don't our memories included these Gou'ld?" Kyle asked.
"I think I can answer that." Willow said. "The memories of fighting the Old Ones are from a time when the continents were closer and the Old Ones ruled the whole plant. These Gou'ld seemed to have occupied only a few areas of the earth when they were here. Protectors in Africa or China for instance, probably do have memories that include them. The briefing I read says they've only encountered one Native American Tribe on another planet and they're from further north. Protectors from around here, may never have encountered them, so no memories to pass on to you."
"That makes sense. It's a theory anyway. Not currently provable but still possible. Thanks, Willow. Okay, we'll be there soon, get some rest while you can." Xander said, leaning back in his seat and closing his eyes. Cordelia laid her head on his shoulder. Abigail was staring out of the small window, fascinated by the clouds and sky.
They landed not long after and several cars were waiting for them. Their belongings were loaded into the trunks and Abigail's seat was secured in the back seat, tucked between her daddy and her mom, she wasn't able to see out of the windows and wasn't happy about it. Funny faces from her daddy helped. That and a cookie. She definitely had her daddy's sweet tooth. It didn't take long to arrive at the base and every one piled out of the cars. Willow was practically vibrating with excitement. This was going to be fun.
