It starts off showing a POV shot of New York City at night, with the full moon in plain sight, which just so happened to show the X-Men symbol.
Suddenly, the Blackbird swooped onto the scene and it then pans up to the superjet, which was flying right into a thunderstorm high above the city.
As the camera pans into the thunderstorm itself, we see the X-Men fight against soldiers of the Mutant Response Division.
Cyclops was blasting away soldiers with his optic blasts.
Jean Grey used her telekinesis to toss soldiers into each other or right off the Blackbird.
Beast unleashed several split kicks onto the soldiers.
Iceman was freezing soldiers with his frigid air blasts.
Angel and Rogue were flying all over the place, punching and kicking soldiers off the Blackbird.
Havok was blasting soldiers away with his plasma blasts.
Polaris used his magnetism to pick several soldiers use and smash them into each other.
Storm (who had casted the thunderstorm) casted lightning to strike down several guards.
Nightcrawler was teleporting all over the place, taking soldiers with him in the process.
Colossus was being dog-piled by several soldiers, until he used his strength to send them flying off him.
Wolverine viciously slashed several soldiers with his claws.
Banshee used his supersonic screams to send soldiers flying off the Blackbird.
Thunderbird punched and kicked several soldiers away from him.
Sunfire scorched several soldiers with his solar flames.
Dazzler blasted soldiers away with her sound lights.
And Shadowcat (accompanied by Lockheed) used her phasing to dodge attacks from the soldiers.
One phasing act resulted in the dodging landing right into the cockpit of the Blackbird, where Forge and Duncan Matthews were.
Unfortunately, Shadowcat and Lockheed phased right through the control panel, causing the Blackbird to malfunction. And once the duo rose back up, she was greeted with angry glares from Forge and Duncan, prompting her to smile sheepishly.
It then zooms out to show a POV of the Blackbird from outside, where it shows the superjet suddenly explodes.
Soon enough, the X-Men appeared in a puff of black smoke, all huddled together, with Nightcrawler in the back.
As the team were falling, they developed shocked looks on their faces as the camera slowly pans to show the Marauders, waiting from them in the streets below with evil grins on their faces.
Cyclops then proceeded to brake away from the group. Suddenly, his body began emitting a ruby glow and after punching his fist together, they were emitting ruby-colored energy. Cyclops then proceeded to punch the ground, unleashing a powerful energy shockwave that sent the other X-Men and the Marauders flying.
Nightcrawler was shown pressed up against a giant piece of rumble as he flew down the street. Once he managed to jump off, he found himself coming face-to-face with Gorgeous George. But right when the Marauder was about to attack him, Nightcrawler turned his entire body into smoke and went right pass George, much to his shock.
However, that shock quickly faded when he was greeted by Wolverine, who was currently in a savage state of sorts, foaming from the mouth and snarling like a wild animal. Wolverine then proceeded to slash right through Gorgeous George.
Storm was dodging giant roots sent by Ramrod. Luckily, she conjured up lightning in one hand, and fire in the other, which she proceeded to use together to scorch Ramrod.
Dazzler and Banshee found themselves standing face-to-face with Ruckus. The latter proceeded to let out a supersonic scream, while the former two unleashed a powerful light blast (via a solid light guitar construct) and a triple-way sound blast (via his mouth and hands).
Shadowcat suddenly bulked up and found herself in a punching match against Slab.
Arclight unleashed a powerful shockwave, which Angel responded to with a powerful light blast.
Colossus, whose hands suddenly morphed into big spiked balls, was charging towards Blockbuster. The two giant mutant suddenly drew back their fists and eventually accumulated in a combined punch, which was powerful enough to leave a massive crater where they were standing.
Hairbag was suddenly picked up by Thunderbird, who was in this strange bird-like form, and was taken high into the air. Thunderbird then proceeded to throw the Marauder upwards, where he was greeted by Beast, who delivered a kick so powerful, that it sent him plummeting to the ground, and once he landed, left a massive crater in the process.
Harpoon tossed several spears embedded with his bio-energy towards Havok, who retaliated with a powerful combined blast of fire, electricity, and aurora.
Malice unleashed a powerful blast of psionic energy towards Polaris, who retaliated with a powerful green electro-magnetic blast.
Prism unleashed a barrage of shard crystals towards Iceman, who dodged each attack while maneuvering around on a wave of water. Iceman retaliated by morphing both of his hands into giant ice balls, and once he was close to Prism, smashed him between his hands, shattering his armor.
Riptide was spinning all over the place, until he found himself engulfed in massive fiery pillar conjured by Sunfire.
Forge, used a high-tech tomahawk, was fighting against Scalphunter.
Rogue and Scrambler having an aerial brawl against each other, using the respective powers they had obtained.
And Jean dodged several blasts from Vertigo, and eventually retaliated with an army psionic energy avatars, who proceeded to pummel the Marauder.
The intro finally ends a shot of all the X-Men, rushing forward in their own unique ways, while an enlarged Mister Sinister stood behind them, looking angrily at the screen, right before it pans to the title of the series.
