(A/N: It has been a long time since I've written anything for "The Fairly OddParents", but this fic was in desperate need of a rewrite. Plus, it needed a new title, for the old one was similar to a recent fanfic. And I don't own any characters from "The Fairly OddParents", except for Joy. This fanfic is also a slight AU of "Timmy's 2-D House of Horror". Now let's get started!)
Our fic takes place at nighttime in the city of Dimmsdale. For some reason, I'm tempted to go check on Timmy Turner and see what's going on at his house! With that said, let's go to Timmy's house!
When we arrive, we find that... aw, man... Vicky and her family are there, and it turns out that Vicky and her family are staying with the Turners because Timmy accidentally destroyed their house! Vicky is once again being a threat to her parents, the no-good, dirty, rotten, evil, black-hearted WITCH! Oops, I let my anger take over. Sorry 'bout that!
Now where was I? Oh yeah! So Vicky is being her usual evil self, and Mr. and Mrs. Turner are, as usual, oblivious to Vicky's evil ways. They didn't even notice how truly frightened Vicky's parents were of their older daughter.
Timmy, meanwhile, was sitting quietly by the couch. His 5-year-old little sister, Joy, was under the couch, where Timmy made her hide the second Vicky showed up at the house. You see, Timmy didn't want Vicky to know about Joy, and he did everything he could to keep Vicky from knowing about her existence.
Whenever Vicky showed up at the Turner house, Timmy would hide his sister, or make her hide, as quick as he could, and make a mental note to wish that Vicky hadn't noticed her, just to be on the safe side. It never hurt to ask Cosmo and Wanda for help with protecting his little sister from the witch who had no heart.
After a few minutes or so, Timmy whispered under the couch, "Joy. Come here."
Joy slowly and hesitantly crawled over to where Timmy was, peeked her head out from under the couch, and whispered as quietly as she could, "What is it, Timmy? Am I going to have to hide under here until Vicky leaves, or until she goes to sleep? But what if she doesn't go to sleep?"
"She does sleep, but I was going to tell you that I think it's okay for you to make a run for the stairs now, if you really want to get back to your room now. Vicky's too busy being evil, so there's a good chance that she may not really see you." Timmy whispered back.
"Okay." said Joy as she carefully crawled out from under the couch. As soon as she came out, Timmy said to her in a loud whisper, "Go, go, go!"
Joy ran for the stairs as fast as she could, but she didn't get there unseen. Someone had noticed her, but thankfully, it wasn't Vicky. It was Vicky's little sister, Tootie. Tootie had never seen Joy before, and she decided to find out who the girl was.
When Joy reached the top of the stairs, she stopped to catch her breath. She hoped Vicky hadn't seen her making a run for it. If Vicky had seen Joy, then she would need help from Cosmo and Wanda, since they were her fairy godparents as well as Timmy's.
That's when Joy heard the sound of somebody else coming upstairs. Worried that Vicky might have seen her running, Joy made a beeline for her bedroom and slammed the door shut.
"Shoot! If Vicky's coming up here, then I just gave away my hiding place!" Joy thought in distress. She hoped Timmy would ask Cosmo and Wanda for help, just to be on the safe side.
Well, Tootie had reached the top of the stairs in time to see where Joy had gone. She walked over to the door Joy had disappeared behind and knocked, hoping to find out who that mysterious girl was.
Joy was hiding under her bed, frightened. Her little heart was thumping so hard she was afraid that it would beat itself out of her chest. She felt like she was screwed, and it was all her fault for not being careful.
"Is anyone in there?" Joy heard an unfamiliar voice ask on the other side of the door. That didn't sound like Vicky's voice. The voice sounded too young; about as young as she was, and it didn't have the malice she'd heard in Vicky's voice.
Joy slightly opened the door and cautiously looked around. All she saw was someone she didn't recognize. She knew what Vicky looked like, and this dark-haired, bespectacled girl wasn't her.
By that same token, Tootie was surprised at the sight of the girl looking at her. She didn't know Timmy had a girl in his house. A girl who looked to be a little younger than her. Had Vicky tortured her, too? She didn't want to ask, but she was afraid that the answer might be 'yes'.
"Where is Vicky?" Joy asked nervously.
"She's downstairs." Tootie replied, telling the truth.
"Does she know that you're up here?" Joy asked.
"Nope. She didn't see me come up here. I saw you, though, and I followed you because I didn't know who you are." said Tootie.
"Did she see me?" Joy asked.
"No, I don't think so. She was having too much fun scaring Mommy and Daddy to notice much else." said Tootie.
"Okay. You can come in and hide from Vicky with me." Joy said, heaving a sigh of relief as she opened the door a little wider so Tootie could enter.
"I can hide in here with you? Thank you!" Tootie said as she entered Joy's room, and this time, Joy closed the door quietly, not wanting to slam it again, should Vicky hear it. If Vicky heard it, then there would be trouble.
Now the two girls were able to get a good look at each other. Tootie saw that this new girl was a little shorter than her, indicating that they were some years apart, but at least she was kind enough to let her hide from Vicky.
Joy did not know who this new girl was. She had never seen her before, but she didn't look like a bad person. She looked kind of sad. Perhaps she was also one of Vicky's unfortunate victims. And she may also be lonely and in need of a friend.
"So, who are you?" Tootie asked Joy, breaking the silence in the room.
"I'm Joy Turner. Who are you?" Joy asked.
"Turner? You mean... you're related to Timmy?" Tootie asked, her eyes growing wide behind her glasses. But then she realized that she wasn't being very polite, and she said, "I mean, my name is Tootie."
"Hello, Tootie. It's very nice to meet you." Joy said.
"It's nice to meet you, too, Joy." Tootie said.
"I noticed that you mentioned my big brother's name. How do you know Timmy?" Joy asked.
"I've seen him at school. And did you just say that Timmy is your brother?!" Tootie asked. When Joy nodded, Tootie exclaimed, "Oh WOW! You have no idea just how lucky you are!"
"What do you mean?" Joy asked.
"I bet Timmy is a great brother!" Tootie said.
"He is, most of the time. But at least he doesn't let Vicky get near me." Joy said.
"You know, now that I look at you, you do kind of look like Timmy. Except you're a girl, and you're wearing yellow." Tootie said, looking at Joy.
"And I don't have buck teeth, either." Joy said.
"Oh yeah, you don't. But I think it adds to his charm." said Tootie, noticing.
"She must like my brother." Joy thought with a small smile. Then she asked Tootie, "Do you have a sibling?"
"Sadly, yes." Tootie replied, looking down and away.
"'Sadly'?" Joy asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"I have a big sister..." Tootie said.
"I wouldn't mind having one of those." said Joy.
"Not mine... because she's Vicky..." Tootie replied, still not looking at Joy.
"Vicky is your... OH NO!" Joy gasped in horror. She had allowed Vicky's sister in her room! Now she was royally screwed!
"Don't worry, Joy! I'm nothing like her, if that's what you're afraid of." Tootie quickly assured her.
"You're not?" Joy asked, sounding a little nervous.
"I do not want to be like her, at all! I can assure you that I will never be like Vicky!" Tootie said, looking Joy in the eyes.
"Having Vicky as a sibling has got to be the worst thing in the world, but I'm glad that you're nothing like her, and that you don't plan on being like her. That makes you better than her." Joy said, giving Tootie a hug, which Tootie was happy to return.
"Well, there's nothing I can do about that, except claim that she's not my sister. She hates me too much for me to really think of her as a sister. So she is not really my sister. Also, the reason you're lucky to have Timmy as a sibling is because... I LOVE TIMMY SO MUCH!" Tootie said.
"You love my brother?!" Joy asked.
"Yes, I do! But I think he doesn't care about me." Tootie said sadly as she let go of Joy.
"He should like you. I know that he has a crush on that popular girl, Trixie Tang, but she pretends that he's not even there, which means that she doesn't like him, but he won't give up on getting her to like him." Joy said.
"I know. I don't like her at all. She's ugly, and she's mean to everyone who isn't popular like her. If only she could lose her popularity and find out how it feels to be rejected by the other popular kids. It would serve her right!" Tootie said.
"Wow! I thought I was the only one who didn't like Trixie! It feels good to know that I'm not alone on this! But Timmy thinks that I'm the crazy one for thinking bad of her." Joy groaned.
"You're not crazy. As you learned, you're not alone." Tootie assured her.
"Thanks. But if he wants someone who really is crazy, then I think he should look at Trixie's friend, Veronica. She's actually prettier than Trixie, if you can believe that, but she is unfortunately, one of the popular kids, and she is crazy! Timmy deserves better than the so-called 'popular' girls!" Joy said.
"Do you think he deserves me?" Tootie asked.
"I should say he does! You're not crazy like Veronica, you actually notice Timmy, unlike Trixie, and even though you're related to Vicky, you are nothing like her! I really think you're a good girl for my big brother!" Joy said.
"Thank you, Joy! I'm so glad to have a friend like you! A friend who's on my side!" Tootie exclaimed as she gave Joy a big hug.
"You consider me a friend?" Joy asked, surprised.
"Well, yes! You're not mean, you don't push me away like Timmy does, and I promise that I won't let Vicky find out about us being friends." Tootie said.
"Then I'm glad to be your friend." Joy said, returning the hug.
From that day on, Tootie and Joy became the best of friends, but they knew they had to keep their friendship a secret, so Vicky find out and try to put a stop to it. They wouldn't let her ruin what they had.
So now the two girls have become friends, and they are bound and determined to keep Vicky from knowing about it. Now there is another chapter, so you might want to stay tuned! And if you want to learn more about Joy, you can read her bio on my profile.
