Yooooooo!
Hi! So last week I celebrated my birthday and didn't have time to work on fanfiction since prepping for the big day took up my time, but regardless in the end it was a blast! Had a good time with friends and familia and basically got some neat presents even though I don't ask for much lawl. It was still a hawt day though but basically we had the party next to the pool so it was refreshing as well.
Aside from that the following week I had some time to come up with one-shots, with this one being one of them. If anything I was laughing when I did this... though I'm pretty sure it was funnier in my head but we'll see you you people think of it! Hope you enjoy! ^u^

Melons
"And that is how we discovered the Chao in the Mystic Garden."
"Wow Tikal, so that's how you and your people found out about the Master Emerald. The Chao led you to its location just like that?"
Tikal nodded to Amy with a smile as they walked along the grasslands of the Emerald Altar. "Of course. My grandmother was the closest to them and gained their trust to ensure its protection alongside its deity. While I still mourn for the loss of Chaos it does not bother me much that I cannot do many things, and with Knuckie and everyone else my new home here in this new time makes me feel very comfortable. I love it so much!"
Amy laughed. "I'm glad you're liking the modern era and that Knuckles is making you happy."
"Knuckie is incredibly sweet and lovely Amy. I do not know where some say that he is too much of this 'hothead' or 'dumb' things but I do not and will not believe any of that." Tikal huffed. "He is Knuckie and will always be that!"
The pink hedgehog sweatdropped nervously knowing she's secretly one of those people. "It's great that you see the positive aspects of Knuckles, and I'm glad he's treating you well."
"Yup! So where are the boys by the way?" the echidna princess asked. "We have not seen them since you and Sonic arrived on the island."
"That's a good question Tikal. They just left after we started talking."
"Let us go find them Amy!" Tikal yipped with Amy nodding in return. "Lead the way!"
Going towards the echidnas' small home next to the altar and entering, the two girls saw that the living room and kitchen were empty.
"Hmm, I guess they would have gone exploring other parts of the island?" Amy questioned. Tikal shook her head. "No. Knuckie would always ask me if he travels far and if anything I can sense his presence. Since we both have a strong connection the emeralds they also allowed us to share a link between each other so that we know where and how far we are."
The rose-colored girl raised her eyebrows. "Wow that's pretty neat! I wished Sonic and I had an ability like that so I can know where he runs off to hehe."
Tikal giggled. "Well Knuckie and I were given this link once we got together and like I said, he will never leave or travel beyond the altar grounds without letting me know." Her ocean-colored eyes then shifted towards the hallway. "I can feel his presence through there."
Both girls' ears twitched upon picking up some low voices.
"Hey that sounds like them." Amy said. Tikal nodded to that and waved a hand. "Let us check on them." The girls walked quietly through the hallway and began hearing the muffled voices a bit louder the more they got closer.
Their eyes focused on a white-colored door that led to a guest room that the echidnas had in their home, the voices coming from behind it. Both Amy and Tikal looked at each other curiously then leaned towards the door placing their ears against it.
"I'm telling you hedgehog Tiki's are much bigger and juicier compared to Amy's."
"And I'm telling you that Amy's are much softer and sweeter than what Tikal has echidna."
Tikal raised an eyebrow at this. "What are they discussing Amy?" she asked the pink hedgehog.
"Knuckles it's obvious when you look at them together. Clearly Amy has the superior ones especially with how nicely shaped they are."
A tic mark appeared on Amy's forehead, one of her eyelids twitching.
She knows exactly what they're talking about.
"Amy? Are you okay?" Tikal whispered quietly and in slight fright upon seeing the rose-colored girl's angering expression. Amy closed her eyes and gave a long quiet sigh, opening her olive orbs and looking at Tikal seriously. "They're having a guy chat."
"What is that according to this time?"
Amy bit her lip not knowing how to explain this without making the echidna princess freak out, but she didn't have any other options. "Basically they're talking about girls, and no not other girls. They're talking about us."
"Is that a bad thing? If it is how is it bad if Knuckie is discussing about me to Sonic and Sonic about you to Knuckie?" Tikal sweetly said. "They are friends and it is okay."
'Oh you're just so adorable Tikal, but naïve like Knuckles.' Amy nodded in response. "Yes it's not a bad thing, but what they're talking about isn't something that you would hear in normal conversation."
Tikal raised an eyebrow. "So what are they discussing Amy?"
Amy started a sweat a bit averting her eyes with tan muzzle flushing a bit. "W-Well…" the pink hedgehog then raised her hands and placed them under her… assets. "Sonic and Knuckles are talking about these to each other."
The echidna princess gasped but was immediately silenced by Amy's hand, her blue eyes widening considerably with Amy raising a finger to her mouth to stay quiet. Slowly lowering her hands upon the orange echidna, Tikal was astonished. "W-Why are they discussing that?!" she quietly said.
"Like I said, it's boy talk." Amy leaned her ear next to the door once again.
"Sonic, I'm aware of this and when I compare the two it's very noticeable that Tiki's are much more livelier and fuller than what Amy has so zip it!"
"No no we're not done yet Knux! Look at them again and tell me I'm not wrong!"
"Hah! Amy's look way older compared to Tiki's delicious ripe and fresh ones!"
'ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!' Amy mentally growled looking down at her chest. 'They are NOT old!'
Tikal heard Knuckles state this part blushing furiously as she looked down at her own bosom. "Well… he is not wrong…" she whispered with quiet joy. "But I believe yours are just the same Amy."
Shaking her head the pink hedgehog gritted her teeth. "I swear those two will-!"
"Amy." Tikal instantly placed a hand on Amy's arm calming her. "Violence is never the answer. Let us resolve this through peace and words." she said looking at Amy sternly. The rose-colored girl sighed. "Fine but if they say anything worse than mine-."
"Amy's are tiny. Almost flat."
SMASH!
The door burst open a second later.
"OKAY YOU PERVERTS WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU-?!"
Amy's eye twitched once again, the infamous Piko Piko Hammer within her grasp raised high in the air.
Yet she did not move. Tikal herself was shocked at the scene before the two.
…
There within the guest room was Sonic and Knuckles sitting on the floor watching the pink hedgehog with surprised faces…
…while within their grasps laid a familiar round net-like fruit.
…
…
"Uhhh… you alright Ames?" Sonic started. Amy didn't say anything, her expression beyond astonished with her face all red.
"What's going on Tiki? Why did Amy barge in like that?" Knuckles added towards his peach-colored girlfriend. Tikal was frozen just like Amy.
…
"What are you two doing…?" Amy muttered. Sonic and Knuckles looked at each other for two seconds before looking back at her. "We're just talking about which one of you got the best melon when we went to the store." the Blue Blur answered.
More silence.
…
"But… why?" Tikal added.
"Blue boy here said that Amy can tell which fruit tastes better just by looking at it, but I said that you're better at it because you can not only tell just by looking at it but also by giving it a few taps to see if the inside is ripe or not." Knuckles explained.
"That's not how it works Knuckles, Amy CAN do it better than just tapping! She has that magic touch and just by feeling the fruit, stuff like strawberries taste amazing compared to regular ones when she picks them out."
"Tiki's more in tune with nature and is more familiar with fruit, hedgehog! Obviously that gives her an advantage especially when we have a garden right in front of our home!" Knuckles barked back.
"Oh yeah echidna?! Well Ames loves sweets and fruit is sweet so SHE HAS a natural talent for choosing the best in the world!" Sonic countered. Both males glared at each other.
"You're overexaggerating Sonic!"
"AM NOT!"
"ARE TOO!"
"AM NOT!"
"ARE TOO!"
"AM NO-!"
"STOP IT!"
The two immediately halted and turned quickly to Tikal's sudden outburst. Amy herself jumped and was frightened at how loud the usually quiet and gentle echidna can be.
"Please stop fighting!" the peach-colored girl was close to tears. "S-Stop i-it…"
Sonic and Knuckles looked at each other and lowered their gazes. "Sorry…" they both muttered.
"Dang… Tikal sure has some lungs." Amy said to herself before shaking her head and looking at the boys. "Anyway you two are being… dumb. Like does it really matter who chooses the best fruit?"
The blue hedgehog and red echidna looked at each other once more then back at Amy. "Not really." they both said.
"They why get worked up about it? We get fruit so that we can all enjoy it and it's not like we can tell which will be the best tasting. When Tikal and I go buy some we just do stuff like that because it's a habit." Amy explained with her Piko Piko Hammer disappearing as she crossed her arms. "Honestly we don't even know if it'll taste good, but regardless we know that it won't kill anyone."
"Heh, guess you're right." Sonic grinned sheepishly scratching his head.
"A-Amy is right, e-even I do n-not know if the fruit i-is to your liking at t-times." Tikal stuttered due to her almost crying. Knuckles felt bad and picked himself up spreading his arms, the female echidna seeing this and immediately rushing into his arms. "I'll love whatever you choose Tiki." Knuckles said as he nuzzled her head.
Amy clapped her hands once. "Great! Now that the confusion is settled-."
"Wait what confusion Ames? What did you think we were really talking about?" Sonic asked raising an eyebrow.
The pink hedgehog began sweating and nervously averted her eyes. "Oh nothing my love!" she quickly said and changed the subject. "How about we go on a double date!"
Sonic grinned at this giving a thumbs up. "Sure, you can count me in!"
Knuckles and Tikal pulled away a bit from each other smiling.
"That'd be great Amy." the emerald guardian added with the echidna princess nodding as well. "I would love for us to do this 'double date' once again!" said the latter.
"Alright let's get a move on!" Amy giggled as she went over to Tikal and dragged her away. "Me and Tikal will go get ready!"
"Ah! Amy?!" Tikal gasped and looked back at the boys. "Please be patient while we prepare!" and from there the two girls were gone.
…
Sonic and Knuckles looked at each other again… and sighed in relief.
"Man that was close. Good thing you Chaos Controlled those melons just in the nick of time Knux." Sonic said. Knuckles grinned. "Told ya they'd get suspicious. I wouldn't want Tiki to freak out much more than what she went through today, yet I still feel bad about hiding it…"
"It's all good Knux, it's basically guy talk in the end." Sonic's expression then turned serious. "So, what's the verdict now that we had time to look at them closely?"
The emerald guardian looked at the Blue Blur and the two stared at each other for a few seconds with the same expression.
…
…
"They're the same." both said.

And yup it's basically one of those misunderstanding tropes lol; hopefully it was funny at least and if not well at least I tried. But oh my goodness I'm sure Tikal's pure mind was tainted by the conversation the boys were having... but then again she and Knuckles were going at it if you read my more mature works lol. But yeah something to boost the spirits up if anything xD.
