"Wow." April frowned, entering the room with a tray of steaming hot pizza. "The Mud Dogs, huh?"
"Yeah." Raph growled. "Leo let them get away."
"They'd had enough, Raph." Leo growled back. "We won. There was no point chasing them."
"If I were still the leader-"
"Well, you're not!"
Donnie and Mikey just sat there, quietly eating pizza, as their brothers argued. None of them still really knew why Splinter had named Leo leader when Raph was the oldest and the strongest, not to mention he had already been the leader for how long, but ever since, there had been a tension between the two that only grew thicker as time went on. It felt closer and closer to snapping every day.
"But why did they attack you?" April asked, hoping to steer the conversation away from the argument.
"They were testing us..." Donnie spoke up. "They wanted to know what we could do."
"There had to be a reason why they wanted to test you though." April frowned.
Mikey nodded slowly, chewing his pizza and thinking. "I wonder who this princess is... What's she the princess of?"
Leo shook his head. "It doesn't matter. If she comes knocking, we'll show her that Hamato energy is not a force to be reckoned with."
Mikey nodded again and took another bite of pizza, picking up the dismissive tone in Leo's voice.
"I say we hunt her down and demand an explanation." Casey interrupted, grabbing her hockey stick and twirling it before pointing it fiercely at the others. "If she wanted to pick the first fight, we should pick the second. On our terms."
"Crazy pants is right, Leo." Raph agreed. "We should send our own message back to her."
Leo sighed. "We don't even know who we're looking for."
"Yeah, it could be dangerous." Mikey added.
Donnie shrugged. "What do you think April?"
April thought a moment. They didn't know anything about their new opponents, besides what little Raph knew about three of her four goons. However, the Mud Dogs had picked the first fight. It was better than letting her come to them when they least expected her.
"I think... I think we should try and find out more about them. Stake out their headquarters. Figure out who the 'princess' is and what she wants from us in the first place."
Everybody nodded slowly, even Leo seemed to agree. That was probably the safest route.
