The Weekend Expedition

Kam always loved exploring new ideas and expanding his knowledge. He was always skeptical at every little thing, but when it came to Bigfoot, he loved the thrill of the mystery. His twin sister, Kim, on the other hand, was more interested in fashion and trends than in searching for Bigfoot. She could care less about his obsession with Bigfoot, but she supported him nonetheless. Kam was overjoyed to find Bigfoot. He had been a part of the Bigfoot Fanclub and told the group the Friday after school, that he and his sister will embark on a Bigfoot expedition over the weekend.

"So what y'all doing this weekend?" Lil D asked the twins, Kim and Kam.

"We're going on a Bigfoot expedition!" Kam said.

"Hang on...we?" Kim chimed in, slightly annoyed.

"Yes! We're gonna search for Bigfoot!" Kam exclaimed with excitement.

"Ohhhhhh...gag," Kim exclaimed with distaste.

"Kim, you promised me you'd go, especially after…what happened this weekend," Kam said, slyly threatening Kim, which caused her to do a double take before sighing.

"Jeez, you're never gonna let me live that down are you? Fine...I'll go. But I'm taking Madison with me," Kim said, pointing to Madison, who was putting away her violin. Madison, hearing her bestie call out her name, turned around with a smile.

"You called, Kimmie!?" Madison called out while putting her bow in her violin case.

"Yeah, do you want to come with me and Kam on this stupid Bigfoot...thing? I could use the company to make things not boring," Kim explained. Madison ran up to Kim and nearly tackled her down with a hug.

"OK!" she screamed.

"Gah, Madison too tight!" Kim yelped.

"Get a room, you two!" Kam asserted. "We shall start packing tomorrow, 8 a.m. sharp." Saturday came and Kam was up and early packing his bags for the expedition. Kim, on the other hand, had sleep in her eyes and she was rubbing them.

"Yawn, I'm so tired," Kim said stretching in her pajamas.

"Kim, come on let's pack. We gotta get there early. I hear Bigfoot only comes out when the woods are nice and quiet," Kam said leaning down and packing a camera and some snacks.

"Is Madison awake?" Kim asked half-asleep.

"I don't know, I only got up and started packing a half-hour ago," Kam replied. "Go wake her up."

"Sighhhh, OK," Kim exhaled as she went up the staircase to wake up her bestie Madison. She opened the door and saw she was asleep. She went over to the bed and nudged her friend on the shoulder.

"Madison, hey...hey, time to wake up," Kim said soothingly. "We're gonna go on this stupid expedition today with Kam."

"MMmmmm," Madison mumbled. "Hiiiiii...Kimmieee.."

"Come on Madison, I'd like to get this thing over with so we can actually do something fun today," Kim responded. After helping a still drowsy Madison to her feet, Kim gave her the privacy needed to change, etc. She waited outside the room, giving Madison time to wake up fully and get ready for the expedition.

Kim got out of the room and started to pack her things with snacks and perfume.

"Gonna need some of this," Kim said putting perfume in the bag. "And this..." she put the snacks in. While Kim was packing her stuff, Kam was packing his. He took a pair of extra clothes that he usually wears-a red coat and blue jeans. He finished packing his suitcase and headed toward the door.

"Kim, you ready?" Kam yelled from downstairs.

"Yes, I am ready, I just have to brush my teeth!" Kim yelled down.

"Oh, thanks for reminding me too, I have to do the same," Kam said running upstairs. There, Madison and Kim were brushing their teeth and Kam soon joined them. Once they were done, the friends headed for the door and away they walked to the woods.

"We haven't even gotten to the woods yet, and I'm already bored," Kim mumbled, bringing her phone out. However, while she was fishing through her pockets for her phone, her face slammed into a tree stump, causing Kam to snicker while Madison looked concerned.

"You don't look bored now," Kam mumbled with a smirk on his face before continuing to lead the expedition while Madison helped Kim stand back up, dusting off her face and nose before offering her some water.

"No thanks, Madison. All I need now is to just get this stupid trip over with," Kim said, as she begrudgingly followed her brother, with Madison coming close behind her. The three friends continued to trek onto the path and eventually went into the woods. Madison was playing a soothing violin tune and Kim was just begging for the trip to be over. Kam was excited and documenting every moment of the way with his video camera.

"Bigfoot, we are coming for youuuu," Kam sang in a whisper.

"I wish I was shopping," Kim whined.

"I love the sounds and smells of nature!" Madison skipped along while fiddling.

Kim looked over at Madison playing her violin, and smiled as she spun around while fiddling.

"At least I have one good thing to do during this stupid hike," Kim mumbled before Kam came to a complete stop, causing Kim and Madison to crash into him.

"Woah!" Kim and Madison exclaimed in unison as they bumped in the back of Kam.

"Kam, a little warning next time would definitely be more appreciated!" Kim said with an irritable tone and rubbing her head.

"Sorry, I couldn't help but admire all these beautiful plants, guys!" Kam said snapshotting the breathtaking flora with the camera.

"Ooh, I love this one! It matches my dress!" Madison said with delight as she picked up a purple rose. "Definitely a keeper!"

"Since when do you like flowers?" Kim asked.

"Since color has been a captivating phenomenon!" Kam replied with a raised eyebrow.

"That's cool, but I thought we were looking for Bigfoot?" Kim asked.

"We are, Kim, but that doesn't mean we can't admire the nature around us," Kam countered, before Madison grabbed a couple of the flowers, sniffed them, and put them in her pocket.

"I can't wait to take these home! They look so pretty!" Madison exclaimed excitedly as Kim sighed and rolled her eyes with a smile on her face before the three continued their trek into the forest. Kim and Kam plucked some flowers on their trek too and placed them in a bag.

"Yeah, this one matches an outfit I have at home," Kim said admiring the flower between her index and thumb.

"Another precious thing to remember and show the guys," Kam said as he put the flower in his bag. They continued their trek and set up camp with a tent.

"Yeah, Kim, Kam loves to stop and admire things," Madison reminded Kim.

"I guess so..." Kim said.

"That explains why he always takes forever at art museums," Kim chuckled with her arms on her hips. Kam didn't hear the two ladies' conversation. He was busy getting water bottles and setting up the tent.

"I don't like the look of that tent, this makes me think we're going to be staying overnight," Kim said, noticing Kam putting up a tent that had enough space for the three of them.

"Well...Bigfoot could come in at night, and we need to make sure that we find him," Kam countered as Kim rubbed the sides of her temples.

"Kam, Madison and I are not staying overnight over some made-up creature," Kim argued.

"Well, Kim, what did you expect? A few hours in the forest? Why'd you think we packed our luggage?" Kam asked. "And he's not made up! Sunny once saw him!"

"Ugh, if he's real, he'd show his stinky self right now and greet us," Kim said with furrowed brows.

"Maybe the ticket is to be quiet?" Madison speculated. "We gotta do this thing for your brother, Kimmieeee! Come on!"

"Yeah come on, Kimmmieeee," Kam teased with drooped eyelids and a smirk.

"Oh...fine!" Kim said begrudgingly. "Just don't call me that, Kam, or else!" she held a fist up.

"And Bigfoot isn't smelly, I'm sure he's very...in tune with his hygiene!" Kam retorted.

"Hehehe, he probably takes baths in the woods," Madison giggled. Hearing Madison giggle made Kim give a small smirk.

"You're lucky you're cute, Madison," Kim mumbled before sitting in the tent, and looking at her phone.

"Right, let me set up the tripod," Kam said.

"So what are we supposed to do while we sit here?" Kim asked.

"We do exactly just that. Just sit." Kam replied.

"And do...nothing?" Kim asked with another annoyed tone.

"Yyyyyyup," Kam droned as he set up the camera. "Well don't worry, that's why we brought things to entertain us like snacks, water, and checkers!"

"Riveting," Kim rolled her eyes.

"Awww...don't worry about it, Kim. It's only for one night, and I still have my fiddle," Madison explained, bringing her violin out and beginning to play.

Day turned into night as the three awaited Bigfoot's arrival but nothing came to fruition. Until Kam heard a noise. He immediately got up from the lying down position and checked the camera.

"Just a raccoon, darn," he said as he looked with a flashlight for the source of the noise.

"OK, that's it! Madison and I are leaving! This is a waste of time!" Kim yelled out, grabbing Madison by the hand, pulling her back up to her feet, and beginning to walk out of the tent.

"Guys, come on, I'm sure-"

"If you're so sure, then you can look for him yourself! I've had enough of this!" Kim interrupted, pulling Madison up and walking away from the tent.

As Kim and Madison walked away a stench smacked Kim's nose causing her to recoil in disgust.

"Pe-ew! What's that smell?!" she covered her nose with both her hands. Madison was soon hit by it too.
"Eww, gross! Smells worse than Philly Phil's science experiments gone wrong!" They both glanced around, trying to identify the source of the stench.

Kam noticed the smell too, covering his nose with both hands also exclaiming, "Ooh! Maybe it's Bigfoot!"

"Or a skunk," Kim replied in disgust.

Before anyone can react further, they all saw a mysterious, tall, conspicuous figure appearing out of the night bushes. Kam shook in response with shock. Kim and Madison stood there in awe. It was Bigfoot right before their very eyes!

"Oh...my...gosh," Kam whispered as he looked up at the 10-foot-tall figure.

"Woah!" Madison yelped.

"You've got to be kidding," Kim said, her eyes nearly falling out of her head as she stared at the shadowy figure in shock.

"Kim, it's truly him!" Madison exclaimed with awe.

"I cannot believe my eyes...and nose!" Kim exclaimed with wide eyes and sniffed in disgust.

Kam's mouth was ajar and just stood there like a deer in headlights. He held the camera and poised it towards Bigfoot slowly.
"Guys...here he is," Kam said in shock with a trembling voice. Madison offered Kim a flower.

"Thanks," Kim said, confused about what she was even supposed to do with the flower. "So…now what?"

"Smell it," Madison giggled.

"No Madison, I mean what're we gonna do with…Bigfoot," Kim said, slightly recoiling at actually admitting that Bigfoot was standing right in front of her.

"Oh! That's up to your brother!" Madison replied.

"Let's hope he gets a good photo, or he'll never let me live this down," Kim said as she put Madison's flower to her nose. "Ahhhh, you always pick the best flowers!"

"Hehehe! Thanks Kimmiiiieeee!" Madison responded with a giggle. Kam, still in a position with the camera poised out to Bigfoot, asked him a question, as if he could talk.

"Hahahahahaha, yeah right, Kam, like Bigfoot can actually-"

"Greetings, fellow hairless orangutans!" Bigfoot responded.

Kim and Madison just looked at each other wide-eyed and laughed even harder.

"…you've gotta be kidding me," Kim said again, her brain well and truly fried at this point.

"You can talk!?" Madison asked excitedly.

"Well of course I can talk! I am having a meeting here with Sunny!" Bigfoot grumbled. "Do you know him?"

"Sunny...Sunny Bridges?!" Madison yelped. "That's our music teacher!" she jumped for joy as the twins watched her jump up and down.

"Uh...yeah, that's our music teacher!" Kim replied. "Wow, I can't believe it, he is real!"

"He really is!" Madison yelled.

"Mr. Bigfoot, I have to get a picture with you!" Kam said.

Just then, Sunny appeared from out of the bushes! "Hey Biggie, I got the snacks and meat all ready for ya-" Sunny paused when he saw his music students in the night. "Oh hey y'all, what're y'all doin' out here?"

"Question is Sunny, what're you doing in the bushes?" Kim asked hands on her hips as of demanding an answer.

"What, I can't spend some days in the nice quiet of this forest too?"

"Nah, I was just asking because you don't see your music teacher in the woods too often," Kim softened her voice.

"Well me and Bigfoot are having a midnight...snack party," Sunny replied. "Would y'all care to join?"

"Hi, Sunny!" Madison exclaimed.

"Hey, Madison, what's up little bit?" Sunny said tipping his hat. Kam walked over and said, "It's such a pleasure that you know Bigfoot on a personal level!"

"How do you know Bigfoot, Sunny?" Madison asked, her head tilted to the side, highlighting her genuine curiosity.

"Oh we go way back!" Sunny said with a nostalgic tone. "Just like Yeti, I met Bigfoot out on a camping trip one summer. I ran into him. Connected instantly!"

"Bigfoot, can I get another picture, this time with me holding up "The Bigfoot Fanclub" sign?

"Sure!" he grumbled. "There's a club named after me? Wow!"

"Yes, there is! Because you're so mysterious!" Kam chuckled in response.

"Tea?" Sunny offered Kim, Kam, and Madison.

"Yes, please," they all echoed. Sunny made a campfire and they all partook in some midnight feasting-making s'mores, drinking tea, and eating pretzels from earlier. When Monday hit, Kam talked to the guys and told them about their adventure.

"Just as we were about to leave, look!" Kam said as he showed his camera off to his friends. Lil D, Phil, Eddie, and Tamika all watched in awe. They couldn't believe it.

"It's true, he is real, I told you!" Kam said with a grin.

"You didn't miss much, just a 10-foot-tall hairy sasquatch whose smell could wake the dead," Kim added sarcastically. "But...it was quite an adventure."

"Yeah! I had fun!" Madison said.

"Sounds like y'all had quite the trip!" Lil D said, laughing.

"We sure did!" Kam said with excitement.

Kam, Madison, and Kim explained their weekend to their friends and their laughter faded into the distance. They picked up their instruments and jammed along with Sunny, who also shared his thoughts on the weekend.

Hope you guys enjoyed this one. This was something I've been wanting to write for a while now! Kam has always loved Bigfoot and I always wanted to explore that idea, as it hasn't really been done in the cartoon. This was a special chapter written by yours truly and EverlastingEvanescence. R&R! Also sorry for the format differences in the short stories, I'm still getting used to .
