"Man, this is fun!"
"Isn't it? I told you Torao's cool!"
Law is focusing on driving, enduring the noise coming from the backseat of his car, questioning his decisions in life. He regretted that he allowed himself to go with the two weirdest people he had ever met in his entire life.
Earlier, this guy, Usopp, didn't like him and didn't want him to come with them. But when they arrived at his car earlier, his behaviour suddenly changed and he was almost drooling just by seeing his car. He asked him about his car's model and some things about it.
He glanced at the two from the rearview mirror and there he saw the two singing in the backseat headbanging.
He squeezed his eyes shut and opened them again, he let out a sigh before focusing again on driving. They are coming over to the house of this girl named Kaya, who according to Luffy is Ussop's girlfriend who's having a birthday party a week from now.
'Since when did i care about other people's birthdays anyway?' Law thought.
After a 30 minute drive. They arrived at a big house near the beach. House is an understatement. It's a mansion. He never thought that there was also a big mansion in this town apart from his father's.
They were welcomed by a tall, formally dressed butler with long hair, a light mustache and a goatee.
"Good morning, Master Usopp, Miss Luffy. The mistress has been waiting for you two. Please come in together with your..."
"He's Torao!" Luffy interrupted.
"Trafalgar Law." Law corrected and extended his hand on the butler.
"Master Trafalgar." The butler said, accepting his hands before leading them inside.
The mansion is big and elegant, almost the same as theirs. There were servants scattered around the place, decorating the inside. He wondered what help they could offer when they already had a lot of servants to do all the work.
"Usopp! Luffy!"
A young woman who has wide brown eyes, pale skin, and blonde hair of a lighter shade, is coming towards them.
She's wearing a dark orange dress with a light yellow jacket and light brown cowboy boots.
"Kaya!" Usopp kissed the crown of the girl's head as soon as they were closer that made the girl blush.
"I told you, you shouldn't have come here, the servants are enough to finish the preparation. Look! It's almost done." the girl murmured softly.
"Of course that's just an excuse, I'm not really here to help. I just wanted to see you." Usopp flirtatiously replied.
Kaya hit Usopp's chest lightly before turning to face them. She gazed at the unfamiliar visitor but still smiled warmly.
"Oh. Law, this is Kaya, my girlfriend. Kaya, he's Law, Luffy's new found boy friend." Usopp introduced them with each other, totally unaware of the words he just used.
Law and Kaya both looked meaningfully at Usopp. Kaya is wondering if she had heard it right while Ussop flinch at the murderous look Law is giving him, only then he realized what he just said is misleading but too scared to speak again.
Kaya extended her hands to Law.
"Nice to meet you. Please take care of Luffy." Kaya said, giving him a small smile.
Law on the other hand didn't know why, but he felt a little embarrassed by what she said. He wanted to explain, but at the same time, what's there to explain? If he must explain, then it'd be a little weird, so in the end, he didn't say anything.
Law was wondering why Luffy is so quiet but when he glanced at his side, Luffy was nowhere to be found.
"Oh. She might be in the kitchen. Don't worry about her." Kaya said chuckling when she noticed that Law's eyes were searching for Luffy's whereabouts.
"Let's head to the kitchen. She's going to finish off all the food in your fridge if we don't hurry there now." Usopp suggests.
Kaya let out a small laugh, saying she didn't mind but the three of them still headed to where the kitchen was.
There they found Luffy eating like there's no tomorrow. Usopp approached Luffy and scolded her. Kaya just laughs lightly while covering her mouth with her hand like it's another normal sight to see. She then glanced at Law meaningfully.
"Please have a seat." Kaya offered Law.
Law nodded and obeyed.
Law noticed how prim and proper Kaya is. It's obvious that she's been raised by a wealthy family just by looking at her.
He gazes at Luffy who's still eating comfortably like she's in her own home while Ussop is putting back the unpacked food to the fridge.
Kaya and Law both stared at the two people arguing.
"I hope you don't mind Luffy-chan's behavior, Trafalgar-san." Kaya said gently.
Law just shrugged. He's used to it and he totally doesn't mind. Women nowadays are conscious of what they eat for maintaining their figure because of the world's standard of beauty, but Luffy is not one of them. He thought that it's good that Luffy is not blending in with those stereotypes.
"So, you are the guy she's been talking about lately." Kaya turned to Law and smiled at him.
Law gives her a questionable look. He's clueless about what she's talking about.
"Trafalgar-san, what do you think of Luffy-chan?" Kaya meaningfully asked Law.
Law doesn't know what to say. He didn't expect to be asked such a question by a person he had just met.
He glanced once again at Luffy behaving like she didn't give a damn about what the world thought of her.
"What do you mean?"
"I can see that she has taken a liking to you."
Law's eyes widened.
"She might not have noticed that yet because she's too innocent about those things but it's the first time she'd talked to us about a guy with full of admiration." Kaya said dreamily with a small smile.
He didn't respond. He didn't know what to feel and he couldn't believe what he had just heard. Admiration? Luffy admired him? He didn't know what to say.
Seeing him puzzled. Kaya continued talking.
"She's pretty special. To us, her friends, And we are somewhat protective of her. We don't want Luffy to be hurt. Please don't hurt her in any way possible."
He looked at her straight in the eye and he almost got chills down his spine by how serious her expression is.
"Though, i believe Trafalgar-san is a good man. I hope you don't find my words offensive." Her expression came back to that gentle lady while saying those words.
"I understand." He replied.
Kaya just smiled at him and stood up walking towards Usopp and Luffy, leaving Law in his deep thoughts.
Since there are no other things they have to do to help, they just spend their time at Kaya's mansion, touring Law through the whole manor but Law's thoughts are wandering off somewhere. His thoughts are left with the conversation he had with Kaya that he didn't notice that the day is over and it's time to leave.
"I assume you will attend my birthday party next week, Trafalgar-san?" Kaya asked as they accompanied Law and Luffy outside their gates.
"I'll check my schedule." Law said, already having second thoughts.
"Ehhh? You should attend her party, Torao! It will be fun because the others will come too!" Luffy whined, shaking Law's arms.
"She's right. You need to attend Torao!" Usopp supported, mimicking Luffy.
Law gives Usopp a murderous look. Usopp just looks around, trying not to make eye contact with Law.
Law glanced at the shorter teen beside him and gave her a gentle pat.
"I'll try, Luffy-ya."
Surprisingly, Luffy stopped her whining and became quiet. Law isn't sure if he saw it right, but he glimpses Luffy's ears turning red.
Kaya saw the cute interaction between the two but didn't say anything about it.
Kaya bid them goodbye after that and they went their separate ways.
When Law arrived at home, he slumped into his bed.
Kaya's words still lingered on his mind. What does he think about Luffy? She's just a naive girl he met at the forest. Nothing else. After two weeks he's going to leave this town for good. It's better not to make any attachments with the people here.
