"Cmon guys we're gonna miss it!" Rocky shouted, already halfway through setting up his high-tech telescope on grassy top of a hill overlooking the see with the moonlight, on the other side of the steep inclined was a rough fall into the sea below, following the coastline and overlooking Adventure Bay.
The light taping of paws brushing up against the grass came through Rocky's ears as they perked, looking over to see Chase, Skye and the rest of Paw Patrol at the scene and definitely out of breathe. Most surprisingly the German shepherd's fitness is something he strives for constantly. Even sometimes he has a limit. "Rocky dude…. I get that…you want to see the meteor shower…. But you really got to slow down for us" Chase stated, huffing and puffing in between each clump of words.
"Wait what, I thought you said it was a Meatball shower" Rubble complained as he tugged on Ryder's pants to his side. "Rubble, can you please stop thinking about food for once in your life?" The boy asked as he rolled out a small blanket onto the ground and himself back first down to the floor with his face up to the sky. "These meteows awe gonna be so awesome" Zuma said, laying right next to Ryder.
"Hey Rocky, Why do you need that thing, You'll be able to see the meteors just fine with your eyes" Marshall pointed out, motioning over to the mixed breed's telescope as Rocky fished around his toolbox for better parts for the piece of technology.
"I know Marshall, But there this Space Phenomenon that happens ever few years. It's a rift in space that slightly opens, and it happens only during a meteor shower, I want to learn about it and see what else it does" Rocky claimed looking up at the sky to already see the show taking place.
"Oh look Chase, doesn't it look so romantic" Skye voiced with her paw wrapped gently around the German Shepherd and he head buried into his fur. "Eh Zuma was right, this is awesome. Move over dude" Chase playfully said, throwing his canine self in between Zuma and Ryder. Leaving Skye with a bit of a scuff.
"Boys…" was all she uttered, before laying on the cold hard grass and looking at the flying balls of light. They were so fast, flying by the earth at such a rate it would be impossible to tell which ones where bigger than the other.
"Hey Rocky quick question" Rubble asked.
"Yeah?"
"What's the name for Meteors that get bigger?"
"Don't be ridiculous Rubble, they're just giant boulders, they don't grow. Now stop bothering me please, I'm trying to look at this rift" Rocky exclaimed as he proceeded to take notes with this eye through the telescope.
"But what about that one" Rubble pointed into the sky, Rocky watched as by the looks of it, The Meteor was seemingly getting bigger and bigger. Rocky scoffed at first thought, returning to his telescope. "Its not getting bigger Rubble, it's just getting closer, Now please stop bothering me" He said before all of a sudden coming to his sense on what he just said and what he just saw. "WAIT A MINUTE, EVERYONE GET DOWN!" Rocky shouted, throwing himself down to the ground and everyone else turned themselves onto their stomachs with their faces and muzzles buried into the dirt.
Above their heads came over like a flaming bullet from the heaven, flying across the sky and making a thunder that no storm could replicate. The sheer heat from the ball of fire was intense, its sound cracked the sky and gave the town a second sun for a few short seconds. The meteor steering itself to make a soft left right over the Lookout way yonder.
Smashing right into the snowy mountains and sending an enormous shockwave along with it, shaking the entire town and sending tremors through out everyone's body. "Is everyone okay?" Ryder asked, standing up on his legs and brushing the dirt of his jacket.
"We're good Ryder, that was terrifying to be honest" Chase said, as everyone looked off into the distance to the snowy mountains at the huge fireball. "Ryder, That Mountain is close to where Everest is, she could be hurt!" Marshall shouted.
"You're right Marshall, Alright everyone, gear up and let's head to the Mountains, Paw Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder shouted as he threw his fist up to the air in exhilaration as everyone raced down the hill to grab their gear and meetup with the crash site.
Within Moments, Paw Patrol had arrived, Chase's Red and Blue lights and Marshall's plain Red Emergency lights flashed throughout the night as everyone raced through the snowy terrain pilling up on the road, all the way up to the mountain. Eventually cutting through dead trees and huge piles of snow to reach the crash site itself.
It wasn't hard, Broken and Burning patches of the ground became frequent as the heat even as it was passing through the air, melted a lot of the snow in its area before settling down and spreading its own fire. "You guys are close, keep head North and you'll find it. Marshall, I'm seeing trails of fire all over the place" Skye reported in from her eyes in the air.
"Thanks Skye, keep an eye out for anyone in the area that could be hurt" Marshall requested, Skye gave a compliant huff as she circled around looking for anyone other than them that would be in trouble. "Everest!" Marshall shouted as they finally reach the site and saw the Huskey herself, putting out small fires with blankets of snow that wasn't already melted.
"Hey Guys, I knew you guys were coming. When I saw it crash into the mountain, I knew I had to do something about it. Whatever this thing is that crashed here, It doesn't look natural" Everest claimed, pointing to the medium sized space craft.
"Huh, I thought we all thought it was a Meteor" Rocky said, gaining nods all around before Everest herself shrugged. "Well I don't know about you guys, but this doesn't look like a meteor. It looks like a spaceship to be honest" The Huskey stated.
"Woah guys, this could be an alien" Marshall jokingly exclaimed, moving around his paws in a spooky motion, gaining a chuckle from everyone. "Oh Marshall, you're so cute when you act stupid" Everest said, which certainly felt like a backhanded compliment to the Dalmatian.
"Ummm…Thanks?" Marshall tilted his head as his emotions where mixed on her comment. "I see a bunch of parts on this thing that I recognize as Human technology but and its mostly outdated" Rocky stated, walking close to the downed craft and inspecting it far more from a scientific perspective.
"So it can be like a big Drone or something?" Ryder asked.
"Most likely, I mean, it's not like anyone is going to pop out of this hunk of junk" Rocky jokingly said with his back turned against the pod. Almost like the universe was alive, it destined to prove him wrong. The Space craft shook as a large hatch from the top opened.
"AHHHHH!" Rocky screamed, running over to the group and hiding behind them, everyone took a step back as what they saw was out of a horror film. A Canine figure slowly crawled out of that hatch, it's hips and shoulders were broad as a Newfoundland and gave a menacing look as it stood atop the craft and stretch itself paws upward.
"DIE ALIEN SCUM!" Marshall shouted out of nowhere as he picked up a rock buried beneath the snow and threw it at the figure. It was a great throw as the rock bounced off the figure's head making a clink ringing sound like someone had just hit a piece of glass, as soon as the figure was hit, it feels off the spacecraft and slide off the hull, landing back first onto the snow.
Everyone stood around for a moment, looking at the figure lay on the ground, seemingly now unconscious due to Marshall's 'quick thinking'. Everyone approached slowly as they looked at the mysterious figure laying on the cold snow. "Is it dead?" Rubble asked, nudging the body gently time after time.
Looking closer at the Figure to deduce that its size isn't what it was originally thought to be, turned out to be just a space suit. Plain white with Sewed on Patches and Letters all around with a large helmet on the person's head, Hard to tell what
"Nice going Marshall" Chase sarcastically said with an eye roll. "What, I was just protecting my planet" Marshall replied. "Well, who every this is, help me get it back at the Cabin, this person must be cold and hungry" Everest said.
"Chase gimme a paw, The Cabin isn't too far from here" Everest asked as the German Shepherd grabbed one end of the Canine and both lead away the clothed dog all the way to Everest's place. "Marshall, get started on putting out these fires" Ryder ordered getting a salute from the Dalmatian in red.
"Yes sir Ryder" he said all with Skye's helicopter floating above and giving a unique perspective on the sight. "Ryder, I'm seeing someone off in the snow, It looks very small and laying down, It could need our help, To your right" Skye radioed in from her pup tag.
"Alright I'll check it out, Thanks Skye" Ryder replied, walking to his right off into the thick of the snow. Squinting his eyes to look out and see something black popping out from the snow. Yeah of course it could be something else, but just to be sure Ryder wanted to make sure it wasn't another creature that could have been hurt in the crash.
"Hey, I see you, we're here to help!" Ryder shouted out as step by step he got closer, suddenly, what it was, It stuck its head out from the snow and ran in the other direction in response. "Hey come back!" Ryder yelled as he kept running. "Poor thing, it must be so scared" Ryder whispered as he tapped his communications device with the other pups. "Skye, it ran off, can you find it?"
"Sure Ryder, I'll try but its still hard to find anything in this snow" Skye replied, reluctant that she would find anything, but still willing to help as she flew off in search for the animal. "Ryder, I see it behind a tree near you" Skye called out, Ryder look around and saw the creature's side poke out from the other side of the dead tree.
"Gotchya!" Ryder called out as he reached out and grabbed the creature, which was now confirmed to be a cat, Orange in fur and kind in attitude as it rubbed its paw against Ryder's face in a cute motion. "Well aren't you just adorable, Don't know why you ran from me like that, but we need to get you some Medical attention, I'm sure Katie would love to take a look at you" Ryder commented.
Rubbing his hand over the cat as he felt a wad of fabric around its neck, Ryder looked down and heard the jingle of a small bell as he realized he was fiddling with the cat's collar. "Oh, you have an Owner, We'll I'm sure Katie can help with that too" he said.
Chase and Everest slowly lead the Canine Astronaut into the Cabin, The German Shepherd quick to close the door behind him from preventing the cold from seeking back in. "Oh, hey dudes, What's up Chase?" Jake asked as he appeared from around the corner with two hot Cocos in hand.
"I'm fine Jake, look who we found" Chase stated, laying down the Space Canine as Jake had a peak. "Who's that?"
"Well…We don't know but can you guys keep her here until Morning. Get this person all warmed up and stuff then we can take it down to Katies for further examination" Chase stated as he brushed off his paws. "Why are you saying 'it'?" Jake asked.
"Well I don't know who this is" Chase defended himself as he shrugged. "Well, whoever this is, He must be dying to get out of this thick space suit, needs some fresh air" Jake said, placing down his hot chocolate to wrap his hands around the Unconscious Canine's helmet.
With a quick twist and turn, A Poof of Oxygen came spilling through. Jake slowly lifted the helmet away from the Canine's face to reveal it's features. It was female.
"Huh, would have never guess it to be a girl" Everest said, all three closely observed the Canine's features. It was clearly a mixed breed, small burns across its muzzle and a short fur cut. "So can you guys look after her until morning?" Chase asked.
"Of course, Chase, help me set the fire so she can warm up when she wakes back up" Everest requested, as she paced across the room to gather some excess firewood and matches. Chase saluted goodbye as he left out the front door back into the cold to tend back to his team.
Between Jake and Everest, not knowing the full story of this Space Canine as on her Space Suit were clear symbols of old era times.
The Fire ignited in its contained form just a few feet away from the knocked-out Space dog laying on the floor with her space suit and head exposed out to the world.
"I'll make an extra Hot Chocolate for her" Jake sparked with idea as he reverted himself back to the kitchen with Everest following close behind "I'll help!" The Huskey said, leaving the Mixed Breed laying near the fire for her to wake up as soon as fate would let her, and soon was coming.
