The silence was pop able between the two felines, Lucky was behind the steering whilst Pebbles sat right beside him in the front passenger seat, looking out into the dark sky trying to forget his own actions. Lucky glanced over at him for a brief second before returning his eyes back to the road. " You did what you had to do back there, don't think too much on it" Lucky stated.

"I'll believe that when I see video of him killing a child, or beating an old woman to death"

"You saw him beat a man in a chair almost to death, he was tied down and defenseless. According to your logic he shouldn't have the right" Lucky shot back. "We could have just left him there, all that drug evidence would have pinned to him, he would have served his time fairly in Prison"

"Pebbles, you don't know what the out come would have been if we had just left him to the police. To be fair, neither do I, but that's the point. We don't know how the system will treat him even if he is 100% without a doubt guilty, so people like us have to take things into our own paws to do real justice" Lucky replied.

Pebbles huffed in defeat as he slouched back staring In front him out the windshield. Seeing the passing sign of them arriving back in Adventure Bay. "Just be thankful we were able to take one of their cars and all of their guns before the cops came" Lucky commented before beating his paw against the cage that separated the front side of the van from the back.

"Y'all alright back there?" the Ex-Marine shouted before hearing a wave of ayes and cheers from the back. Lucky looking back the road with a smirk. "We've got more than enough guys and guns to finish this mission of yours"

"Seems so, take a left right here" Pebbles instructed to the black cat, seeing him slowly and patiently turn the wheel to his left, turning onto a dirt road. The van bumped up and down, just a testament to how bad the road where.

"Jeez man, slow down, This is a van not a Humvee" Pebbles stated, noticing how Lucky was going a bit too quick down the dirt road. Tightly holding onto the handle at the top of the door for stability.

"I'm not a novice when it comes to these roads you know, I drove on nothing but dirt roads when I was overseas" Uneven roads and potholes were nothing to Lucky, he's obviously had his fair share of rough driving.

Still making the Orange feline not any safer in theory, still clutching onto the top handle like his life depended on it. Soon reaching to a forceful but much anticipated stop. Looking over to see Lucky unlocking the keys from ignition port and getting out.

"This it?" He asked as he looked before him to see the same old crappy barn Pebbles was assigned to. "I know what you're thinking, and I don't like it either" Pebbles claimed.

"It'll do, let's get these guns inside so when can get some shut eye" Lucky stated as walked back over to the side of van, bashing against it's side repeatedly, seeing the other cats jump out from the back as the dual doors swung open.

Each feline grabbing as much as they could carry and bring it into the barn. Pebbles looked off into the distance at the town of Adventure Bay that was illuminated through the moon's light and it's own lights or orange and white strung all across from each street.

Hours later in the morning, Atop the hill point where the rocket was, standing up straight it is majesty. Laika stood by to it's side as she watched Chase and Marshall both loading in a small sized box into the rocket's hatch.

"That's right, just put it right next to the other boxes please and thank you" Laika kindly remarked as both the male dogs dropped the box down to two others inside the ship. "You're welcome Laika, by the way what are in these boxes?" Marshall asked before taking a big huff in exhaustion out into the open air.

"Uhhh…Supplies" Laika responded with a bit of hesitation in her voice as she looked off else were, trying to avoid eye contact. "Good enough excuse for me, Chase gimme a paw with this big box right" Marshall said walking over to a larger box of 'supplies' that was all alone. His head was tilted back at the German shepherd before suddenly tripping in classic .Marshall style right over the box.

Causing the box as well as Marshall to tumble over on their sides, more importantly pouring out the contents of the out on the grassy terrain.

Landing right next to Marshall's muzzle with a few inches, looking directly at the as he could already tell what these 'supplies' where. In fact, the smell itself already gave it away.

"Aw what, Laika, Why are you carrying back so many pizza pockets?"

"You want me to starve in space while I drift through a time hole, is that it?" Laika threw up her paws, getting a bit too confrontational over some miniature Italian cuisines.

"Well at least we have more in the lookout I suppose" Marshall shrugged, not really knowing how to combat that argument fully. Marshall shrugged as he saw Rocky incoming, wheeling in a heavy cargo on wheels.

"Alright, I have the last quarter of rocket fuel right here, We'll all be set for launch tonight" Rocky proclaimed as he looked over to Laika, who seemed a bit down by that statement.

"Is something wrong Laika?" He asked

"N-No, nothing wrong, In fact everything is right. Ill get to go back home finally" Laika replied, her mild assurance threw them off for now. However mixed breed already hard a hard at work pumping in the rocket fuel didn't buy it as quickly as the others did.

"Hope I'm not late to the farewell party" Suddenly hearing a feminine voice come the corner of their perspective, surprised to see a familiar huskey walk up the top of the hill with a basket full of canine goodies ready to give.

"Everest, How are things?" Chase asked, throwing up a friendly paw at her. Everest shrugged with a grin as she stepped forward toward Laika. "I'm fine, I just came to give this to Laika" The female space dog's interest was peaked, leaning up from off the ground where she laid to receive the basket of goods herself.

"Oh, Thank you, This is very kind of you considering the moment we first met" Laika brought up before seeing the Huskey flick her paw in response to the bad memory.

"Water under the bridge Laika, You've changed this past week and we're grateful for that." Laika felt her hear touched in the metaphorical speak of course, remarkable how she was being treat by the same dog she has assaulted first moments of being here.

"I don't know what to say, Is there anything I can do to repay you"

"Two things, Have a safe fly back and try not to crash land this time" Everest joked as she patted the back of the space dog's space suit.

Laika gently lunged forward, wrapping both her front paws around the snow canine's furry neck. Everest returning as a true signature of friendship between the two.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, Infront if all of you, But I'm going to miss you guys" Laika confessed as she separated from Everest, turning toward everyone in the process.

"We'll miss you too Laika" Marshall responded, looking over at Rocky, his face bummed and long after the repeated thought of her leaving.

Quietly separating himself from the small group before walking over to Rocky, who by the looks of it was slouching fuel into the rocket with less motivation than before. "You alright bro?" The Dalmatian asked

"How could I be dude, she's going away forever and I won't get the chance to tell her how I feel" Rocky expressed to his friend, Marshall bit his lip as he looked back at Laika.

"Well it's not all over man, maybe she just isn't the one, you might meet someone even more special. I mean, I thought Everest was for me but it turns out Skye was and I'm grateful"

"Im not sure I could move on if she left, but I'll keep trying" Rocky snuffed as he balled up his paw and clenched it toward the Dalmation, Marshall doing the favour and sapping up his friend in need. Suddenly another canine came running a top the hill, out of breathe and his face bearing terrible news it seemed like.

"Dudes, Someone stole ALL of our Pizza Pockets from the storage!" He claimed, every eye turning sideways to stare down Laika as the prime culprit of the crime. Seeing Laika suddenly look over yonder, refusing to face the consequences of her clever thievery.

Later that night, Pebbles deep in his dream state, shook from side to side, his eye lids locked together tightly as seconds went by, his mind dipped in and out on consciousness before sudden his eyes went wide. He found himself laying on his side, starring at the corner before coming to the shocking realization that someone was starring back at him from the same corner.

Lucky, The Black Cat, sat in the corner of the upstairs of the old barn with a Rifle right by his side, where everyone else was sleeping. He could have chosen someone else to look out creepily all night but it just had to be pebbles. The Orange cat gasped for a brief second, before placing his paw over his chest as he got quite the fright.

"Geez man, What fuck are you doing starring at me like that while I'm sleeping" Pebbles asked, trying to keep his own voice down as Lucky stepped out from the corner and over to the single window sill that looked down from behind the barn side.

"I'm used to staying up late every day, Because of my Job and my Time Deployed. I watched over my troops when were in camp, Its second nature to me" Lucky explained, as he leaned from the window sill, letting the moon light shine on him.

"That would be a cool thing to play a prank on your brother I bet, just standing in the corner until he would see you" Pebbles joked, jabbing Lucky's side in a friendly way before seeing the Ex-Marine's furry head turn to the side, not even a smile was present. "No…I don't think it would be cool"

"Oh, didn't grow up with a brother or sibling or anything"

"I did, I lost him when I was deployed, We were both Marines in the same squad"

"Oh…I'm sorry"

"I get that a lot" Lucky replied, reaching around his neck to untie the red cloth that was around his neck for so long. "You see this?"

"Yeah, its your red scarf"

"It's a rag, and it used to be white"

"Mishap with the Colouring turned it red?"

"No, Blood" Lucky confessed, emotionless as he clenched the rag tightly. Making Pebbles a bit more disgusted as he looked at the red cloth differently. Making a mental notice in his brain to never touch it ever as well.

"We were bursting into some house that we thought was hiding a stash of weapons, He was breacher, Soon as he went in….Boom, IED just waiting for anyone to come in. He had cuts and lashes all over his body but the one spot that was bleeding the most was to the neck"

"I reached into my backstrap and pulled out some old white rag, I pressed it against his neck and we flew him over to a camp to treat him. The whole time I was pressing that rag deep into his neck, trying to pressurize it and make it stop. When we got there, the doctors did all they could but it was over. When I looked down at that rag, every single patch of it was red" Lucky recalled, every detail was just as gruesome at it could have been. Physically and emotionally.

"Fuck dude, I cant imagine something like that, watching your brother die right there. I never grew up with one, but my family, especially my dad, I would do anything to save him in that situation, that's why I'm doing this, to finish what I started and confront the men who wronged him in Langley" Pebbles said

"Good kid, Where ever your dad is, He'd be proud" Lucky compliment, slapping Pebbles on the back as a show of support as they looked off out the back of the barn side. Watching the cars fly by on the main road a good distance away, before unexpectedly seeing a small van take a turn on the very path that would lead right up to the barn's back side.

"Hey, You expecting anyone?" Lucky asked, as he noticed the van come up the dirt road. Its head lights on but the tint was dark as the night sky. "No" Pebbles responded as he squinted his eyes, trying to make out who it could be that would arrive at such a time and such a coincidence. Suddenly seeing its headlights turn off as it came close to the barn. Pebbles recognized the tactic as his focus stretched from the van's body itself to simply its license plate. There was none.

"It's the CIA" Pebbles muttered before grabbing Lucky and bring his down to the floor. "What you sure?"

"Yes, that's a strike team, They're here to kill us all" Pebbles said, before seeing Lucky get back up and walk back over to the corner he original stayed at, picking up his rifle and pulling back the charging handle just enough to see a round in the chamber. "Well its time we show the Government that we shoot first" Lucky proudly stated before banging his paws against the loose wood below him, waking up the other cats that were sound as well.

"Everyone get up and grab a rifle, this isn't a drill, we're under attack, take positions behind anything solid and stick to the shadows" Lucky stated, seeing one by one, each feline jump up from floor, each one had a rifle that they slept with. Grabbing it as soon as they could as they fled to whatever position they found was best.

Pebbles looked at the large front barn doors that separated the inside from the outside, seeing the doors slightly wobble. Indicating they were about to make entry. "They're stacking" Pebbles said, keeping his voice down.

"If you see a figure come out from that door, drop it" Lucky instructed, taking the role as the leader seemingly away from Pebbles in this moment. Suddenly, All the cats hearing a faint 'ping' sound, just enough to get their attention, and well enough to know it wasn't a force of nature by any means.

"You heard that?" One random feline asked, lifting his head up to see a sudden object flying through both windows of the barn. Dead into the center, hitting the floor and letting out a cloud of white smoke. "GAS!" Lucky and Pebbles shouted at the same time, just as they did. The strike team made entry, busting in and with their dark clothing and night vision goggles. The lasers on their rifles beamed right through the smoke as they started to fire precise shots. Suppressed shots that sounded like dropping a coin on a well tiled floor.

"Engage Engage!" Lucky shouted as he coughed, it wasn't just any smoke, it was tear gas. The dark feline heard several loud shots, indicating his compadres were in the fight, but soon after the suppressed shots were more in count, and he feared the worst. Lucky backed up, his rifle still raised as he fired right into the cloud of tear gas, trying with any luck to hit someone.

Pebbles was also hard at work and his crew from up top on the ledge looking down at the ground floor, hard to see what was going on with the lack of light and smoke clouding the entire inside of the bar. Cough all the while feeling like his eyes were burning.

Meanwhile, Lucky was finding his aim and was figuring out where to fire and when. "IM HIT!" Lucky heard one of the Strike team members shout out, knowing he was making progress. His heart was pounding in the heat of the moment, his adrenaline was through the roof. He missed this feeling so much, and he was getting hyped up on it.

He slowed etched closer into the Tear gas, seeing a large poke out just from outside the cloud. Pulling it back to try and salvage whatever could off the body. Suddenly a strike team member running and tackling Lucky from inside the smoke. Pushing the cat onto his back as the Operator held a large knife to his chest, just about to plunge it into his chest, a bullet slashing into the side of his head, cutting through this helmet and into his brain. An instant death as he slouched over Lucky. Looking up to see Pebbles that had quite literally saved the Black cat's life.

Lucky's nodding up to the orange cat before taking off the Helmet from the Strike team member, The bullet that had cut into it did a lot of damage, but didn't damage much of the electronic equipment, mainly the Night Vision Goggles.

"Here, Catch!" Lucky shouted as he tossed up the Helmet to Pebbles, catching it surprisingly, slapping it on his head and looking through the scopes. Turning his attention to the large doors of the barn, seeing one strike team member shoot into the building. Pebbles now having the fair game, shooting a burst of rounds at the Operator, seeing the bloods cut into his body all around and lay on the ground, but not dead.

"IM DOWN!" He shouted as he tried to crawl away for safety. Seeing another Operator post up by the doors, effectively taking his place to cover his teammate. Reaching onto his vest to retrieve a grenade. Pebbles have a stroke of genius at the same time, propping himself up as he held his breath to take the single shot. Just as the ranger pulled the pin, holding the explosive above his head.

Within the split second, Pebbles shot his rifle. The bullet traveling sharply through the air, right into the operator's wrist. All the veins in his hand exploding upon impact. However more devastatingly, dropping the grenade. It laied on the floor for a good second before detonating. The explosion sending a shockwave of energy sending the Operator to the ground dead.

However, exploded the front side of the barn, finally the barn's age started to kick in as the front side collapsed down, starting a fire as well. Suddenly the newly made first from explosion gave a bit of light, letting Pebbles hop down from the higher platform down to the ground floor.

"Good work, You think they're still out there?"

"Must be, We bought ourself some time, We need to go" Lucky exclaimed, looking all around him to see bodies of felines and operators mixed everywhere. "Anyone still good?!" Pebbles shouted, looking around before seeing some still alive, some wounded and pressing their paws to their side to ease whatever pain cursed them.

"We all need to go, Everyone out the back side, now!" Lucky ordered, as one by one each passed him, trying to hop out from a small break in the wall to the outside. The fire was growing it would see consume the entire barn. Fortunately, in the gruesome sense, there wasn't much of them left, so it wasn't much time before they all got out.

Running around to the front of the bar to see the remaining strike team members, some wounded and others on look out. Ready for something, but they weren't ready for a sudden ambush. All of them at once coming from around the side of the barn, laying down automatic fire at the Operators, With the mix of surprise and lucky shots, they were all down.

Lucky raised up his paw, signifying for all to cease fire. Within seconds, it was all silent once more. "Check them!" Lucky ordered as each member rushed over to their bodies, salvaging their gear and ammo, and making sure they were dead for good. "How many did we lose?" Pebbles asked, turning to his selection of troops, there were just a few left. Knowing the majority were still in the barn, probably partially alive.

"Quickly, We can run in and drag out as many of them as we-" Just before Pebbles said, with a glimmer of hope in his voice. The Barn's infrastructure gave way and it all collapsed before his own eyes. The fire only grew taller as it was given more fuel.

"They're with the Lord now" Lucky stated, as he walked closer to the barn. Very much feeling the heat but it didn't make any difference to him at this point anymore. "You see now Pebbles, You might give a damn about killing but they clearly don't, Make no mistake, this wasn't on you, but you hesitated when the Operator tried to kill me or that one tried to throw that grenade, we would be a much smaller group" Lucky stated, turning around with his back against the fire.

"I see now, They want a Battle, I'll give them a war on their own soil" Pebbles said with a heart of black stone, his emotions were flushed dry as his baptized his own heart in a void by himself. The rest of the felines lowered their head as they faced the fire, paying respect to their fallen brothers.

When our land is illum'd with Liberty's smile,
If a foe from within strike a blow at her glory,
Down, down, with the traitor that dares to defile
The flag of her stars and the page of her story!

They all sang in unison, The forgotten fifth version of the star spangled banner, it was clear who the traitor was to them, Everyone knew that, Pebbles knew it for sure.

"Tonight…Tonight it all ends" He said.
