3 Days Later…
The lone chow chow had managed to lose his chasers for the time being. Now, he finds himself at a park, hidden in some bushes while trying to recover. His bleeding had stopped the day before, however his fur was still covered in both blood and mud. He was barely conscious, his breathing slow as he heard the sounds of children of all ages come and go from the park.
A few hours pass and he regains enough stamina to sit upright. The sun had started to set, and his mind was stuck on one thing. His stomach then growled loudly.
Judo sighs, walking down the sidewalk and entering the park. She was wearing a large jacket and a pair of headphones. "She just doesn't understand…! I'm not a child anymore!" She lets out a small growl. Ever since she became a teenager, she had become more rebellious towards her mother Wendy. Despite all the arguments they've had, they still care for each other. It's the nature of chow chows to be both stubborn and well-behaved, but her growing body and mind has thrown a wrench into her daily life.
For the past few days, she has found herself wanting some alone time, away from her mother and friends, so she has made it a habit to visit the park at sunset, where there are barely any people. It was quiet. Calm. Exactly what she needed right now.
"Uuugh…" the chow chow groans as he pokes his head out of the bush, taking in his surroundings before stepping out. As he does this, he feels a splitting headache, causing him to fall to the ground, holding his head with both his hands* "F-fuck… not now…!!"
Judo was now sitting on a nearby bench, enjoying the feeling of the wind going through her fur. "This feels ni-" she quickly interrupted by a sharp pain in her head, which soon spread to her body. "Fffffffffuuuuuucckk…!!!" The pain soon subsided, almost as quickly as it came, leaving her panting. Almost instinctively, she turned over to look at the bushes, only to see another chow chow looking back.
At first she was surprised, then taken aback as she saw the condition he was in. She didn't know what to do, but the chow chow signaled for her to come closer. She hesitated, not breaking line of sight as she very slowly approached.
For some reason, she knew that whatever caused her that pain earlier, had something to do with this chow chow. She wasn't sure why, but her gut told her that.
The chow chow looked right back at Judo, aware of her presence now. "Fuck, she just had to be here..?" He thought to himself. He quickly looked around, making sure there weren't any other people around before slowly signaling her to get closer.
Judo was obviously hesitant to get any closer, but she needed answers, so she slowly approached. As she walked closer, their eyes never broke contact. However, the chow chow soon went back into the bush, his hand still signaling for her to get closer as it too entered the bush.
Judo took a few steps closer before the hand reached out and grabbed her, pulling her into the bush where she was now held against the ground by the chow chow. Judo, by instinct, started flailing around, trying to escape.
The chow chow's ears then twitched, something was coming. He covered Judo's mouth with one of his hands and lowered his mouth next to her ear and whispered, "be quiet..! They're coming..! We're both in danger, you have to trust me..!"
Judo was obviously overwhelmed by emotion at that point, fear being easily visible in her eyes. However, hearing his warning she immediately stopped, seeing as the chow chow also stopped putting pressure on her.
Seeing Judo stop, he slowly and calmly got off her, quietly listening around. Nearby, the sound of multiple footsteps approached, and it was obvious they were adult footsteps. He looked back at Judo and held a finger up to his lips, telling her to be silent.
Judo merely gulped at this, barely able to process what's going on. She stayed back, hidden deep within the bush as the chow chow was before. The chow chow stayed alert.
A few minutes had passed, the sounds of the footsteps came and went, and during that time Judo finally had a good view of the chow chow in front of her. He was obviously the same breed as her, a chow chow, and close in age to her. His fur was very messy, filled with dirt and matted with mud. Just looking at him made Judo shudder, as she always made sure to keep her fur well maintained. Something bothered her even more though, the blood that was slightly showing underneath his fur. "What happened to him…?"
Soon the chow chow turned around to face her. "We're both.. in danger, trust.. no.. adult…" right after finishing his sentence, he fell face first into the ground. Judo recoiled back, not expecting him to fall over. She reached for her phone and opened the phone app. In the middle of her dialing for 911, she paused, thinking of what he said about adults. "What could he mean by that..?" After a few seconds of collecting her thoughts, she dialed her mother, who answered quickly. Judo immediately told her about the boy, but left out the details of what had happened while also demanding that she not call an ambulance or any law enforcement.
After a bit of talk, Judo hung up, and checked on the chow chow, rolling him over so he's laying on his back. She leaned down, putting her head on his chest to check for a heartbeat. However her ear touched something else, something cold. She brushed it aside and checked for a heartbeat. Once she had heard his heart beating, she let out a sigh of relief. "Phew.. thank goodness…"
She then remembered what she felt earlier. She dug her hand into his chest fur, feeling around before feeling the cold object inside. Once she got a grip on it, she pulled it out carefully. "...a necklace..?" She thought, looking at a small silver necklace with what seemed to be an hourglass in the middle. It was clean, pretty much brand new. She put it back in his fur, then stayed put until her mother arrived a good bit later.
