Chapter 7
The group of friends are gathered in the Dumas household, to wait for Kimberly's mother and stepfather to return. The boys were gathered together downstairs in the living room while the girls were upstairs in Kimberly's room dealing with what they just witnessed. The group figured that them being together would be more beneficial for a nice thermotic cry session.
Back down with the boys
"So what do you want to do until they arrive?" Jason asked the group.
"They told us to wait here for them." Billy said from his seat on the sofa.
" Guys we just watched our enemy murder our principal in front of us, how are we suppose to handle that, how can you guys be so calm?" Adam asked through choked sobs his raw emotion pouring out with every word.
"Adam its not that this isn't bothering the rest of us just as bad we are trying to figure out what to do about it, because this isn't something the police can handle." Tommy said trying his best to be sympathetic to his friend and express the big issue with the situation.
"Tommy's right we have to do something to make sure we don't fail like that again we can't let another civilian become another causality, because the last thing we need is for the rest of Angel Grove feel as if they aren't safe through this." Jason stated
Five minutes before Jason expressed his feelings.
Outside in front of the house
A pink convertible pulled up in front of the Dumas residents followed by a white Beamer, green Miata, blue Durango, yellow Beatle, red f-150, and a Black Tahoe. Once parked they all stepped out of the vehicle, some of the passengers were riding with other parents.
Melissa and James walked closer to Caroline and Pierre before asking "what was so urgent that we had to rush over Carry?" Melissa asked
"You guys need to know something before we go inside, she paused wondering how to explain everything. Ours kids were in the middle of main street shopping strip when they witnessed something tragic. I felt it necessary that we gather together and focus on helping the kids through this tough time." Caroline explained.
"Well what are we waiting for we need to get in there and access the situation." Lee may stated. All of a sudden the parents calmly rushed to the door to get to the kids.
They reached the inside of the house just in time to hear Jason finish his short speech to the rangers. "I couldn't have said it better myself, however when were you going to tell us you were the power rangers?" Alicia asked her son.
"Wha Wha Wha How long have you been standing there?" Jason shuddered and finally asked.
"Long enough to understand that the lot of you have been saving the town or better the world." Alicia explained
After the girls noticed the parents had arrived they quickly made their way downstairs to join the boys. The redness around their eyes was all the evidence the parents needed to know they had been crying, Causing each of their mothers to step close to them and envelop them each in a hug. Which gives the group a temporary reprieve from telling their groups little secret.
"Since we are all together why don't we setup for a cookout?" Matthew DeSantos offered.
"That sounds like a superb idea, I'll make a trip to the grocery store that is if one of you want to tag along" Pierre said trying to make an effort to fit in with the group.
"I'll go with Pierre." James said
The two of them leave while some of the guys set up the backyard, while Rocky, and Billy joined the females in the house to prep the rest of the food they plan to have.
As everyone is setting up the rest of the cookout some of them break off into groups to visit and reminisce abut times spent with each other, get to know the other better, or in the case of the children they would talk about times spent with Mr. Caplan.
Looking around the gathered group Bruce remembered that nobody had yet explain the tragic event the children witnessed, he then decided to ask about it. "I know you all witnessed something tragic." he said while taking a good look at the group and noticed that all of the girls and a few of the guys that couldn't hide their emotion had been crying. "What happened?" He asked wondering what has caused this type of emotional reaction out of this tight little group of friends.
"In order for us to tell you that, there is something else we must explain in more detail first." Tommy said bringing up the forgotten topic from earlier.
Pulling his best friend aside Jason asked him " Are you sure about this, your about to break one of the three cardinal rules here bro?" Jason asked explaining.
"Not really but we were caught already so if he was going to reprimand us, I think he would have teleported us out and reprimand us by now. I'm sure it will be fine." Tommy whispered back.
"Gentlemen you want to inform the rest of the group what your whispering about." James Oliver asked as he and Pierre returned from the store with the rest of the dinner. Handing a bag over to Preston he set the other three bags on the table and rounded everyone up with a clear of his throat.
"It's now or never Oliver" Jason said giving his best friend a look of determination.
"As I said already before we can tell you what happened we need to explain what you overheard earlier, Or better yet we can show you." Tommy said before slipping his right arm behind his back and shouted "It's morphin time" moments later the ten of them stood in front of the group of parents fully morphed. Melissa, Alicia, and Janice looked shocked, while Henry, Preston, and James were speechless. Sue young and Nathan looked on with recognition.
"H. Ho. How Lon... long?" Melissa stuttered out the shock of seeing them all morph in front of them slightly overwhelming. The knowledge of their children saving the world is one thing but seeing really is believing.
"For some of us since freshman year, others it was sophomore year." Aisha stated.
"As for me I just joined the ranks of the power rangers." Angela interjected
"Your just kids!" Lee May Park said.
"They still have more to tell us, now if you keep bombarding them with the endless questions we will never find out what happened." Nathan Cranston explained
The parents became quiet as the teens powered down.
"We were morphed and in the downtown area earlier.. Kimberly tried to explain but her voice cracked and she broke down before she could finish. Tommy grabbed her into a hug while Angela finished. "Our enemy showed up with a citizen as a hostage, It was principal Caplan." she paused to gather her composure, Zack was at her side comforting her in mear seconds.
"Before we could secure his release Zedd killed him." Jason finished, noticing the emotional drain it took on the group everyone converged into one giant group hug.
Four days later.
We find the group at the town cemetery, it is truly a sad day for any of us to loose a kind caring individual but for his students to loose their principal that devoted so much time that truly is a tragedy." Captain Stone said to a crowd with heads bowed in sorrow, and mourning. What none of them realized when they lowered Kaplans casket into the ground the Zords revealed themselves in support of a casualty in the line of duty. the Falcon and Crane however flew over and dropped ten different colored roses into the grave, indicating the sorrow felt by the group that feels they failed to save him. Then as quickly as they appeared they were gone.
All in attendance stared in awe as the display of sorrow from the rangers. Little did everyone but a select few the rangers were sitting in attendance. All felt the loss on their own personal level including Bulk and Skull who have not stopped crying since the start of the ceremony. As for ten of them it hit them harder because he had been a huge influencing their lives from the time they started in Angel Grove.
As the proceedings had come to a close the rangers and their parents lingered along with captain stone, Bulk , and Skull the latter have since composed themselves into silent sobs.
"Any news about his murder?" James asked hoping to keep the police from suspecting the kids of being rangers.
"Now Mr. Oliver we can not discuss the case with civilians" Stone said.
"Captain we should be getting back to the station." Bulk said after fulling composing himself.
"No, you two take some time off to deal with all of your emotions surrounding Caplan's passing. At his words Skull broke down again, " I can still hear his last words to me it's like they are ringing inside my head.
Flashback
Sitting in the same room they had been in for the longest part of their school attendance they met with the one person who showed them that they could do better.
"I'm very proud of you for choosing become a full fledge police officers after graduation, you were my troubled students but I'm glad that both of you for choosing to become better when your older, you will make a fine officer someday" Said
End Flashback
"But Cap..."
"Those are direct orders from your captain officer." Captain Stone stated
"Yes Sir" they said in unison.
Up on the moon
Zordetta watched as the rangers burred a fellow human. "Silly humans why put the dead in the ground we stored ours in a Tomb."
Moments later the green swirl of teleportation appeared. Indicating the arrival of of Amelia the empress's head general.
"Ahh, Amelia so nice to see you how was your travels, I trust you had no trouble finding the place." Zordetta said in greeting.
"This place was easy to find, a very disturbing feeling when I entered the solar system, I felt the presents of my father." Amelia stated.
"Yes, your father is our adversary along with his precious power rangers whom I want you to go down and introduce yourself to." Zordetta stated.
"Why auntie I thought you would never ask. I will take great pleasure in defeating those goodie goods that blindly follow my father." Amelia answered and then transported down to earth taking a pack of skullbots with her.
"Do you think she will handle them?" Zandra asked her daughter.
"She is from Eltarian blood she is his own daughter and I trained her in sword fighting Mother." Zordetta snapped.
"Why don't you send down the Hate master with them?" Zandra offered.
"Excellent idea mother, you have your orders now execute as you have before." Zordetta stated
Back on earth
"Can we get out of here please I can't handle this anymore." Kimberly said as tears rolled down her face.
"Yes beautiful why don't we go to the gym gives us a comfortable & quiet place to just be together." Tommy said.
Group of teens bid their farewell to their parents. As they left the parents asked that they were careful and to be home before dark.
Moments later they arrived in the hall outside of the school gym. Inside the gym the rangers are just sitting and discussing all the good times they had experienced with their fallen principal.
"Do you guys think he would have been better without the toupee?" Zack asked
"It really wasn't fooling anyone, however it was probably helping his self confidence." Trini reasoned.
Outside in the hallway the villains overheard the rangers talking.
"We need to enter through separate doors and surround them." Amelia whispered.
The minions and foot solders split up to surround the rangers.
Back inside the gym
"Tommy what's wrong?" Rocky asked as he seen his demeanor change.
"Keep talking" Tommy whispered as he quietly walked toward the east entrance of the gym.
About the time he reached the door it was kicked back, falling and sliding with the force of the kick. Seeing this everyone jumps up and run over to their friends aide. At the same time the skullbots burst through the door the hate-master, and Amelia burst through the other doors.
"Hello rangers how nice to meet you." Amelia said.
Standing up Tommy asked "So who are you?"
"I'm your final advisory, you will be destroyed now, then your precious command center along with my pathetic, incompetent father." Amelia snarled.
The rest of the villains swarmed in and surrounded the rangers "Guys we should ninja streak out of here, we are out numbered and outgunned." Tommy thought across the team mental link.
"That might be our only way out of this predicament." Billy sent in reply.
The team all seem to agree and without a single word they streaked across the gymnasium and put some space between their enemy's and themselves.
"Run all you like you won't get far." Amelia said in a mocking tone.
The rangers took the opportunity to morph into their ninja uniform.
"OH no they changed maybe we should run away, you brats don't stand a chance against me." Amelia snarled.
"We'll just see about that, Ready guys." Tommy said.
"Ready everyone followed."
They all leaped for the skullbots each landing a kick of some sort the fight was on and the rangers were taking the fight to the skullbots. Amelia waited for her opportune moment to strike the least expecting victim. Rocky, Adam, and Aisha were dishing out punishment to the skullbots like they were Zedds putties. Kick after kick punch after punch the three were fighting like the triplet of ninjas they were in the competition when they first arrived in Angel Grove.
Meanwhile Jason, Trini, and Zack took on a group giving each other space to fight but yet still close enough to watch each others backs. Zack pulled out some of his old hip hop keto moves that stunned the skullbots, Jason was using his many years of martial arts training and busting out the tornado spin kick he perfected all those years ago, Were as Trini chose to keep her foes off balance with her better defined kung Fu training as soon as one would regaining their balance she would be right there to knock them back down again.
Kimberly, Angela, and Billy were handling their group of skullbots expertly. Angela was doing a lot of counter and move just as her teammates had taught her she ducked one attack and quickly brought her right foot up into its face effectively driving it back to the other skullbots around them. Kimberly took to her gymnastics training and added a little of the karate she had been thought by her big brother and boyfriend. While Billy used his wits and quick thinking to keep himself from being overwhelmed. A few feet away Tommy was fighting four skullbots of his own with the help of his enchanted saber "Saba" he was able to dispatch them with relative ease.
With the rangers distracted Amelia saw her perfect opportunity to attack. She quickly zipped through the groups with a speed to rival a Cheetah. Slashing each of the rangers then moving to the next group until finally reaching the white ranger just as he finished off the four skullbots around him. Unfortunately for him she attacked him so fast it was like he was moving in slow motion to try and counter her attack. The only figure left standing was Amelia laughing maniacally "Tell my father I send my regards and he is next, once I finish with the lot of you." she stated. The rangers are all grunting while laying on the ground aching. Vanishing quickly Amelia returned to the moon.
"Did you introduce yourself to the rangers my precious?" Zandra asked.
"Yes grandmother they know only a small taste of my power." Amelia informed
"Not to worry my dear niece you will have more than one chance at destroying them." Zordetta said as she entered her throne room.
"I sent them with a message to my father." Amelia explained
"You what! your father wasn't suppose to know you were here!" Zordetta shouted as she grabbed Amelia and dragged her down to the dungeon and through her in the empty cell next to a strange looking figure. She then slammed the door and locked it.
Back on Earth
The rangers returned to the Command Center
"I don't know what attacked us but they sure were powerful, and a very skilled fighter." Rocky said.
"Kind of reminded me of when Tommy first became a ranger, man she was one mean fighter." Jason said
"I concur she was a most impressive adversary." Billy said
All eyes fall on Trini. "He agrees she was really strong, I mean come on guys I've been away for a year and a half and you still can't understand him?"
"I knew what he said." Kimberly stated shocking the group, "Don't look at me like that, the only reason you guys have been turning to Trini is out of habit." She finished
"Not to change the subject here but I believe it is best we explain to Zordon what happened out there." Angela sated
"We were giving a message by our new enemy, the message was for her father and she explained he was next on her list after she was finished with the lot of us." Zack informed their mentor.
"Rangers I fear that you are caught in the middle of a family conflict and for that I apologize." Zondar stated
At this point Zordon has gone quiet and is reminded of the family that he lost the day he was sent to Earth.
"It would be best that you get comfortable, you should hear the story about Zordon and myself." Zondar stated.
Once the rangers find places to sit around the command center.
"11,500 years ago on Eltar there was two siblings that did everything together. Zordon and his twin sister my mother and your newest enemy Zordetta." Zondar started his tale.
The two practiced and hangout with their friends and teammates. Everything was perfect for the both of them. Zordon fell for his teammates and fellow yellow ranger Natalia who soon married and started a family and so did Zordetta only her choice wasn't a fellow ranger. He fooled everyone by acting as a righteous knight trying to protect the land. For almost a year he fooled everyone and then Amelia and myself were born. After that my father began to let his true intentions be known and soon persuaded my mother to turn to the side of evil." Zondar explained
Then when she was found out by Zordon and taken in front of the high council to be judged for her treason and everything transpired between Zordon and Rita, Zordetta and my father Ivan Ooze. At that revelation their jaws dropped. Well you know the rest of what happened to your mentor and his trusted assistant. However what you don't know is that my parents attacked the remaining Eltarian who managed to trap the rest of Rita's henchmen in the dumpster. My parents turned their attention to the ranger team and destroy them, once they accomplished that they decided to kidnap and raise Amelia while my uncle Delious hid me away, sensing that they would train me to fight for evil and sent my to study with Dulcea & Ninjor.
"So you've been running your whole life?" Angela asked.
"Yes and I've been studying under the ninjetti grand masters even you haven't heard of." Zondar replied.
"So Zordon held the powers on Eltar?" questioned Rocky
"Yes red ranger however the powers were different than you use now. That is why I contacted Ninjor and together we forged the power coins." Zordon finally spoke making the rangers jump slightly.
"So that's what makes our powers different?" Aisha asked
"Its not the only thing but yes Aisha." Alpha 5 stated.
"So when you said Zordon was on a team with his sister who is our newest enemy does she still have her powers?" Tommy asked
"Not exactly her powers were corrupted by Ivan's evil influence and when the other powers were destroyed it decreased her overall power, the rest was as I said corrupted by Ivan's influence so the whole thing is a little confusing to explain." Zondar tried explaining.
Meanwhile on the moon.
"Rito!" Zordetta bellowed.
"Yes my empress." Rito exclaimed as he bowed down on bended knee. "
"Go to earth and kidnap humans any humans, use this lasso to capture them." Zordetta ordered
"Yes empress, as you command." Rito said and left for earth as he was ordered
Landing in the park he began looking for any humans. Lucky for Rito Angel Grove was throwing the annual street fair. After a few moments of searching Rito found some unsuspecting humans and quickly threw the enchanted lasso around Bulk and Skull, then Ernie followed by Miss Applebee...
